Commons:OTRS#When_contacting_OTRS_is_unnecessary states contacting OTRS is not necessary in such cases unless there's some other reason [the] authorship may be doubted (since I don't think anyone would rate this ordinary logo of "outstanding quality"). Thanks for the explanation. Since the volunteers will also not be able to prove the authorship reliably I think it's not worth the hassle for all people involved. If you meant files which I nominated for deletion, they need to have proper source: author(s)/date and place of publication. They may be in public domain, but proper sources were not provided. Also proper public domain tag should be used as license. See also Commons:Copyright rules by territory. Sorry, I don't know German :-( Both sites contain modern photos, which are copyrighted by default, unless somebody released them under terms of free license. You need to find site’s terms of use to clarify this. I'm the grandson of the author and his sons (my father and uncle) had uploaded the file on his website for years without legal reprecussions after he passed away. I'm not able to contact the publisher, their website and email address don't seem to exist anymore. As for File:Art&Science_di_Matteo_Gelardi.webm, this is an original performance I myself have been organizing and playing out with artists and scientists in theatres and arenas since 2015. the music is all played live and the costs on copyright in Italy (SIAE) have been covered. File:The_dance_of_the_ciliated_cells_-_Matteo_Gelardi.webm was shot and edited with CC music by myself few years ago. They are both partecipating in Wiki Science Competition Italy 2017. Actually, it was used in the list of best uploaded files, which should give the idea that it was not crap... you have millions of old unused file and you start with a file that actually has content, welcoming this way an uploader who knows a specific field? About the svg format, the fact that a file is better in svg does not mean this is a reason for deletion per se... actually how can anyone put in svg if you remove it? Wondering why my photos are being charged with copyright if they are my own photos. I am not using them for promotion but rather writing a wiki article about a company. I uploaded many of these photos a while ago and their wasn't a problem then. Why is their a problem now? Hoping we can get this figured out! Had a problem with being to promotional before. This image is uploaded to Russian Wikipedia. Sorry, I don't know files deletion process there, but w:ru:Википедия:К удалению is used for articles. As for file itself, it claimed to be in public domain because of age as anonymous work. I tried looking for it online but couldn't find any other instance of it. It could indeed be a copyvio of some unidentified image from elsewhere, or it might be a low res image of the uploader's own cat. In any case, the uploader seems to be trying to pass off this cat in a hoax article as if it were the royal cat of Buckingham Palace (see this draft). Re: your comment here, I have no idea how to do any of that stuff on Commons (my main work here is on cross-wiki copyvio issues), so I'm afraid I'm not much help. If you check my contributions, however, you can see I've fixed the sourcing to comply with Commons basic policy for inclusion for all the uploads by this user. Sorry to create more work for you if more work needs to be done, but I just was focused on saving them from deletion at this point. Also, you'll probably want to move File:O With Thy Benediction.ogg to something such as File:Thaxted (Holst) or something similar, as it's a tune that is use for many songs. Files descriptions looks completely useless, since titles of works are absent. It's much better to use Creator templates. And Flickr use could not be an author of art itself.

It'll be reasonable to request bot operators assistance to fix descriptions of already uploaded files.

Just add request to vectorize images on Commons:Graphic Lab/Illustration workshop. But please try to find better resolution raster source images. If some of them originates from coats of arms (Austria? Royal France?) major part of job is done already. In this case will be good idea to vectorize logos from documents, because Category:SVG coats of arms of Austria are much finer or have different proportion as in case with Category:France moderne in heraldry. Shields forms may be standard. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 16:03, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am not able to vectorize. Sorry i am so poor in knowlege. I do a screenshot and save the pic ... sorry not to be state of the art. Very sorry. BTW the signs do not need to be with very high quality. Why ??? As original they were used to stamp in metall with a size of approx. 3x3 milimeters. Modern use is done with laser engraving. On the legal side of view, it would not be a good idea to deliver samples which are good enough to be used for fake-markings. no no ... no good idea ;-) The signs are public to enable people recognizing the signs. not more. the enzyclopaedic use in articles can be as there: en:Proof_test#Proof_marks ir de:Beschussprüfung#Rechtsnormen_und_nationale_Regelungen .
