English: Acorn fdc (front).This Acorn fdc comes from my Acorn System 5. The part no. is 200,022. The disc drive cable connects to the 34-way red plug at the top of the card.
The Acorn fdc is a standard eurocard which connects to the standard Acorn bus and provides an interface to 1 or 2 drives. It is capable of controlling 4 drive surfaces on 2 double sided drives. Single or double track density drives may be used. A 34-way flat ribbon cable connects to the drives after the shugart interface standard. The intelligent device used is the Intel i8271. |
