Summary
[edit]Image: Image of what appears to be trees or shrubs on the surface of mars. Taken by the Mars Global Surveyor. Date Unknown. Photo by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Image was taken as if you were standing directly over a tree and looking down at it.
Sources: YouTube video of press conference on May 8, 2001. In the video, it is said that all images shown can be found at this link Cydonia Region, but they are not.
I believe the fact the link is mentioned in the video to be from NASA's JPL, and the fact that the images were taken by NASA's Mars Global Surveyor, these qualify as Public Domain under NASA's rules.
