As a member of [[Cap21]] during the [[2022 French presidential election]], Bordat supported [[Yannick Jadot|Yannick Jadot's]]<nowiki/>candidacy for president. Then, despite still not being a member of [[La République En Marche!|LREM]], Bordat's candidacy was supported by [[François Rebsamen]] and his movement [[François Rebsamen|Fédération progressiste]] (FP) at the last moment. Bordat came within two percentage points of the top candidate in the first round of [[2022 French legislative election|elections]], and in the second round Bordat beat Catherine Hervieu, a [[Green politics|green]] candidate who was part of the [[New Ecological and Social People's Union|NUPES coalition]] with 51.69% of the vote.<ref name="FI"
