My preference for the bit position numbers is the <sup>1</sup><sub>2</sub> format instead of the <small>12</small> form, on the theory that it is slightly more horizontally compact. : I can't find a 709 principles of operation. Can anybody confirm that the 709 has the same 36-bit SI register as the 709?
