When he moved to Triestina, in the summer of 2005, he was unknown in [[Italy]], but became famous in [[Trieste]] when he played a few matches as a forward, and not in his original position of central defender. In January 2006, the two best central defenders of [[U.S. Triestina Calcio|Triestina]], [[William Pianu]] and [[Maurizio Peccarisi]], were sold to [[AS Bari]] and [[Rimini Calcio|Rimini]], meaning that Lima appeared regularly for the rest of the season, becoming something of a hero to the club's supporters.
