Non-free photograph of traffic on a road, used with the argument that it shows past conditions of traffic on the road before its expansion. Fails NFCC#8 and NFCC#1, as the same level of understanding could easily be reached through text alone: "before reconstruction, the road was often congested". Simple as that. - Delete. Even though I wrote that NFCC#1 rationale (before it was just "n/a"), I think it's pretty weak. There's no critical commentary of that image or anything in the image that illustrates unique traffic issues to that road. So, I think it's more adornment that expanding understanding, and we shouldn't use non-free images just to pretty up an article. —C.Fred (talk) 15:27, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
I just changed the description of the picture to "Traffic congestion on the North Tarrant Express pre-construction." The fact remains that we are a visual culture. What the picture does is give a visual to what traffic was like on the North Tarrant Express before construction. I think it is important to the article because at a future date another photo will be added to show that exact same stretch of freeway post-construction. These are both important pieces to the puzzle because of the controversy surrounding the rebuild of NTE. Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to add more to the "History" portion and to other portions because of my hectic schedule, but I assure you that what is in there now and what will be added, that this picture is key to the article. Thank you for your assistance in helping me to make my first article better and comprehensible.
I feel NFCC#8 "Contextual significance.
