Wayne Chaney Jr. is senior pastor at Antioch Church of Long Beach in Long Beach, California, the "leading church" in the community[1] with over 1,000 members.[2][3] The church was founded by Chaney's grandfather.[2]

In October 2013, Chaney made his television debut on “Preachers of L.A.” which is a crowd-pleasing show on the Oxygen channel that follows six heads of churches through their personal and spiritual lives.[4]

Personal life

Chaney is a graduate of Morehouse College and Luther Rice University Seminary.[2]

Wayne is the grandson of the late Dr. T.M. Chambers, Sr. as well as the late Rev. Joe Chaney, Jr.[1]
Wayne Chaney Jr. is married to Myesha Chaney. They have three children; Wayne, Reign, and Cadence.

Filmography and TV Appearances

According to The Christian Post, Wayne and Myesha Cheney agrees to "showcase " their marriage on television in order to represent "a Godly marriage on television."[5][6] A controversy arose around pastor Cheney's statement that "We want people to know you can be saved, sanctified, and sexual... God made us that way."[7][8] Chaney, his wife, and the other "Preachers" were criticized in the press for the affluent lifestyles the program portrayed them as living.[19 November 2014 1]

Chaney received the 2010 Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Maker Award from the city of Long Beach. [9][10]
