Flexible Stone and Brick[1]

The Flexible Stone and Brick are now available on the U.S. market, consisting of marble chips and acrylic resin. Marble is the second most durable natural mineral, after diamonds. Acrylic resin is used in the construction of yachts and aircraft parts. These two materials combined produce a high quality material for cladding façades of houses and buildings with at least 30 years of service life.

The Flexible Brick is not only elastic, but also lightweight so that the façade is not burdened with a heavy load. The Flexible Brick can be installed on any uneven surface, as well as square corners and pillars. And most interestingly, the Flexible Brick can be cut with scissors! The product is glue on Thin Set and can be used with out the grouting.

The Flexible Brick solves many problems simultaneously: it does not require any component parts, it is lightweight, which cuts logistical costs, it requires very little tile adhesive, it has a protective coating for troweling, it is simple to install, its application does not produce any waste products, and it is fire and ultra-violet resistant.

History:

Flexible Stone by Delap

The story goes back to 1995, when a factory owner decided to build a house using an American technique, using the lightest and the most natural materials. However, at the time he was faced with a quite meager offer on the market: natural stones, clinker brick, and paint. Stones and blocks were heavy and monotonous, and he did not want to simply paint the house. At the time his work included supplying and selling marble chips from different countries. And then he had a great idea! Why not create an imitation of natural stone using chips? Thanks to the various qualities of chips, by refining them and adding elastic resin, he was able to create a natural looking, lightweight and beautiful Flexible Stone. After several tests, the Stone proved a success and was used to decorate his home. It did not take long for the Stone to become a sensation. Just a few weeks later, all the homeowners at the villa community wished to use his Stone to decorate their homes.[1]
