Teahouse to ask for advice from experienced editors. SuggestBot can suggest articles for you to edit. Article wizard is a neat way to get started on an article. Cheatsheet is a common suggestion, but I find the wikitext editor to be adequate without need to refer to the cheatsheet. The Missing Manual is as useful as they say it is, though.
