Gerald Long (born July 9, 1944) is an American politician. He served as a Republican member for the 31st district of the Louisiana State Senate.[2]

Born in Winnfield, Louisiana,[1] Long paternal grandparent was Gillis William Long, in which his relatives were politicians George S. Long, Huey Long, Earl Long, Russell B. Long and Speedy Long. He was the brother of Jimmy D. Long.[3][4] Long attended at the Northwestern State University, where he earned his degree in 1966.[1][2] He had made a comment to politician Elbert Guillory's scheme, stating that it's "a really bad bill".[5] He also mentioned businesses for which he had stated that frequently proceeds to the bottom of the impending ages.[6]

In 2008, Long won the election for the 31st district of the Louisiana State Senate.[2] He succeeded Mike Smith. Long was then succeeded by Louie Bernard for the 31st district in 2020.[2]
