Manele in 2020

Jeremiah Manele (born 1968) is a Solomon Islands politician. He was the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs and External Trade in Solomon Islands until December 2007. [1] He was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Hograno/Kia/Havulei constituency in the 2019 general election. He became Minister of Foreign Affairs on 26 April 2019.

Following the 2024 Solomon Islands general election, Manele was elected by Parliament as Prime Minister gaining 31 of 50 votes after his predecessor, Manasseh Sogavare chose not to stand for reelection. He is the first prime minister of the country to come from Isabel Province.[2]
