Template:Anglican PortalThe Rt Rev 'Charles Alan Smythies, DD [1] (1844– 1894) was a Colonial Bishop in the second half of the Nineteenth Century. [2]
He was born in Colchester[3] and educated at Trinity College, Cambridge [4]and ordained in 1869. His first post was a curacy in Great Marlow after which he was Vicar of Roath. He was consecrated Bishop of Nyasaland in St Paul's Cathedral on November 30th 1883 and died on 7 May 1894. [5]
