Yes. It looks like Nina Kulagina is using invisible thread. I would imagine she is using a loop between her hands. The movement of the objects correspond to the movement of her hands. Her hands moving back toward her body. When she moves objects under the clear box after box has been lowered on top of the thread. If I remember correctly, these filmed experiments took place in her home not in a laboratory. I believe it was in her kitchen. Most likely the objects she moves are very light in weight. Notice the empty matchbox. The tube she moves is probably made of a light material, hollow, and also very light. This prevents the thread from breaking. In one film it looks like Nina jars the table to make an object, a light ball or empty egg shell, jump up in the air. Most likely after the experiments Nina just drops the thread in her lap. She never performed in front of master magicians. Years ago one thin strand of thread was removed from a women's stocking. A black thread was preferred. The correct lighting is very important for the use of invisible thread. A bright light will make the thread visible. I heard a horror story from a young magician using invisible thread out doors in sunlight. The crowd was amused and said nothing. Daniel Dunglas Home Accordion

I suspect the methods of Henry Slade ,medium, who also played an accordion with one hand, which are noted and explained by William Robinson also known as Chung Ling Soo at this entry, were contemporary methods. Home's hands are NOT controlled. They are free. One is on the top of the table the other is underneath the table, where the light is sure to be dim, in the cage.(Kazuba (talk) 03:38, 14 November 2015 (UTC))[reply]

We can only make educational guesses. We will never know the true answers to the many effects Home performed. For he was never closely watched or tested by an expert magician whose specialty was the deception of mediums. The thoughts of modern magicians are basically covered in the in the Wikipedia Daniel Dunglas Home entry. It is difficult to tell exactly what happened during Home's effects. Most likely the stories have grown due to bad observation, high emotions and hallucinations of the sitters in the dark or dim light. They are not dim witted. But they do want to believe. Remember the sitters have a deep desire for proof of the existence their close dead loved ones. This can make the mind play many tricks in many different ways. The history of 19th century Spiritualism is full of bad observations and deception. I try to meet with The International Brotherhood of Magicians Detroit Ring 22 each month. I have been in magic for about 40 years. I am only a hobbyist. I have seen and learned wondrous things. You may find Eusapia Palladino and Leonora Piper of interest. They too were very famous mediums. Michael Prescott seems to promote they too could contact the dead. Well informed magicians don't think anyone can contact the dead or have paranormal abilities. But their will always be others who trust their unusual experiences without question. Ryan Hayashi's Ultimate Cups and Balls [7] (talk) 16:44, 15 November 2015 (UTC))[reply]

I Am Curious

Dear Julia Hunter, Of all the many people on the wikipedia why did you question me about Daniel Dunglas Home? I must say I am very curious and I'd like to know the answer. You are only the second to contact me and think I had any valuable information in the obscure field of mediums.(Kazuba (talk) 01:46, 18 November 2015 (UTC))[reply]
