The Weehawken Township School District is a PK-12 public school district that serves the students of the Township of Weehawken, NJ.  Nestled in the heart of Hudson County, the 1.5 square mile township of Weehawken is located on the western shore of the Hudson River directly across from Manhattan. The district begins educating four year old students in free and full day Pre-K, continues to ignite student interests throughout elementary school and watches with pride as students successfully graduate from Weehawken High School. The district’s vision includes a focus on equity, personalization, and innovation.

As of the 2015-16 school year, the district's three schools had an enrollment of 1,400 students and 122.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.0:1.[1]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]

The Weehawken Township School District is a progressive, student-centered community of learners in pursuit of collective and individual excellence. The district’s 3rd-6th grade students attend Theodore Roosevelt School. Roosevelt School proudly supports a new Instrumental Music program, a revamped Library Media curriculum, a more concentrated Spanish Language program and many new personalized, adaptive, collaborative online Math and English Language Arts resources. All Roosevelt School teachers are currently revamping and enhancing their curriculum guides.
