The Sock Tree

[edit]

The Sock Tree is a tree in in Bradenham Woods Lane, High Wycombe, United Kingdom. It is named because old socks are haning in this tree. The creators name and identity remain unconfirmed and the subject of much speculations. The Sock Tree was first recognised in the early 2000. People in High Wycombe are unsure about whether the tree is a symbole of dark humour or political protest. Other(s) say that the sock tree can be classified as temporary art. The sock tree has featured in numerous articles in the Naphill Gazette, the local news publication for the village and immediate surrounding area, inclusive of Walters Ash.

The Socks

It is noticeable that the socks in the tree are mostly colorful. Critics are sure that they are already worn socks. Many of the socks show light signs of wear. All socks are the same size. This is also an indication that it must be one and the same artist. Critics are sure that the artist must have good taste and humor because the socks show different caricatures and/or are colorful.
