Wikidata Tools
Hello! I noticed that some editing monitoring tools on Wikidata, User edits and WD edit stats, are malfunctioning. My name is Vicente Detoni, I am part of the brazilian project Mais Teoria da História na Wiki, and this year we are promoting an editing campaing in the Wikimedia universe called Mais Mulheres. We want to improve our mechanisms for evaluating the edits made, and the tools mentioned above could help us a lot with this. Could you investigate what might be happening? Do the tools have any documentation I could consult? Thank you in advance. Vsdetoni (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 13:17, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hey, @Magnus Manske, when you get a chance, could you take a look at this for me? Vsdetoni (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 17:04, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Vsdetoni, I think my "herding sheep" tool might help you (this is us this month on Wikidata). You can set a project, a a category with users or a manual user list on that project, and a start/end time (optional). It will show all the edits, plus a summary.
- QuickCounter was broken because some database tables changed, I fixed it now. Gives you basic statistics on a user.
- UserEdits gives you edits on Wikidata for a specific user. You can filter on time range and actions. You can also give a SPARQL query, and only edits in one of the resulting items will be shown. This you editing research institutes.
- You can also get a simple edit count for all users who edited items from a SPARQL query. This shows how often users edited research institutes on 2024-07-01.
- SparqlRC can give you the same but with a lot more details.
- If you need a bespoke tool, let me know what you imagine, I can probably patch something up. --Magnus Manske (talk) 12:42, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, @Magnus Manske! Thank you very much for the generous response! There are many interesting options. The first tool you presented seems quite useful for our purposes. Does it also work for Commons? What URL should I enter? Thank you again for your time and attention, Vsdetoni (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 20:25, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
Quick Intersection down?
Hey, I believe that your tool Quick Intersection is currently offline. Is it a bug or did you stop to support it ? Thanks in advance, 🐢 Monsieur Tortue (💬) 16:29, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- I thought I had replaced this years ago with PetScan? Could you give me the URL where you found Quick Intersection? Thanks! --Magnus Manske (talk) 12:42, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Here are some search results. I'm not seeing anything public-facing. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:58, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Jonesey95 @Magnus Manske sorry, I didn't see your messages as no notifications appeared on my account. We're still using your tool on the frwiki. Go to any category ([[fr:Catégorie:Mort]] for exemple) and click on the "Décompte" button. You will be redirected to your tool. Thanks in advance, 🐢 Monsieur Tortue (💬) 11:29, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

flickr2commons.toolforge.org
Looks like flickr2commons.toolforge.org is down. Is that how it was intended? Olksolo (talk) 18:52, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
Controversial and non-neutral term
Would you replace the phrase "racist stereotypes" in the Lady and the Tramp (1955 film) article with the less controversial and more neutral "racial stereotypes", please? 151.82.55.139 (talk) 14:27, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
