Christopher Joshua Beckwith known professionally as Young Jimmy is an American guitarist, singer-songwriter, rapper, and record label executive.[3][4]

Early life

Beckwith states on his official bio, he was Born in Manhattan, New York, both parents of African American descent and both families migrating from The Carolinas during the Great Migration. He attended the High School of Art and Design (class of 2006) alongside classmate Darold Brown aka rapper ASAP Ferg[5] and received a scholarship to Greenwich House Music School.[6] Beckwith registered the trademark 'YOUNG JIMMY' in 2020.[7]

Career

In 2014 YOUNG JIMMY released an EP "To My Chagrin" with an all black indie rock band.[8] In January 2023 he released the single "Pull Up to the Party (deluxe)" off his album 'Rockett 88 (deluxe)' which includes the song "No Racist" feat. Kendra Foster,[9][10] in February 2023 he released a single "Sweet Maria",[11][12] in March 2023 he released a cover song single by grunge rock band Nirvana "Come as You Are".[13] And in August 2024 YOUNG JIMMY released his final 'Rockett 88' sessions recording "HEAVY. (feat. Kam Franklin)."[14][15]
