Angels in the Asylum is an upcoming British film starring Katherine Waterston, Simon Pegg, Minnie Driver, Cush Jumbo, Rose Williams and Miriam Margolyes. It marks the feature length directorial debut of Rob Sorrenti.
Premise
[edit]The film is inspired by a BBC Newsnight exposé on the women who were incarcerated from 1907 at Long Grove Asylum in Surrey, a former hospital for the mentally ill, because they were typhoid carriers.

[edit]Director Rob Sorrenti has been developing the project since 2008. The film is produced by Heather Greenwood, Marie-Elena Dyche and Charlotte Carey. James Friend is the cinematographer.Principal photography is scheduled to begin in early 2025 around the Kent area.[1][2]
