Speedy deletion of Axamenta

A tag has been placed on Axamenta requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. January 2009

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added a {{hangon}} template to an article. In order for an administrator to evaluate whether the article should be speedy deleted or not, we request that you provide reasoning, on the article's talk page, for why it should remain. Thank you. Sourcing

Hi Backtable, I see that you are interested in music articles, but you may not be very familiar with our sourcing guidelines. One of the core policies on Wikipedia is verifiability, and I noticed that you have provided some sources. However, sources need to be reliable and independent. Myspace is not considered a good source. For the most part, neither are blogs or websites. Sources should be independent of the topic (so anything the band puts out is not a great source to establish notability, and neither is anything their label says about them). Hopefully, you can find newspaper, magazine, or book sources to augment the Myspace. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on my talk page. Karanacs (talk) 18:06, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Axamenta

I have nominated Axamenta, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Axamenta. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Proposed deletion of Mariusz Duda

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Mariusz Duda, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

WP:BIO, tagged since 9/07 w/o improvement. Nothing here encyclopedic independent of existing Riverside article.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. li value

I see you added <li value = 6> before one of the track names on Dehumanizer, I can't figure out what it is, what it does, or why you did it put the curiosity is killing me. -J04n (talk) 00:56, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sanctus Ignis tracklist

I have added the missing track length to the best of my ability and divided the versions, but I'm at a bit of a loss at this point for how many versions there actually are. Niflheim is listed as a demo/bonus track, but I haven't actually seen a version without it. On Musicbrainz, there are 3 versions listed, one with no demo/bonus, one with only the Niflheim demo, and one with the Stringless Violin demo as well, while the Japanese version is ostensibly missing. Arrgh! Anyway, do you see any other changes which need to be made? 128.61.56.41 (talk) 16:24, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Metal

Hi Backtable, I created a thread regarding a picture of Heavy metal genealogy, I created and uploaded. I'll be so grateful if you could leave a comment on the matter. Cheers!--Chanaka L (talk) 05:06, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

I'd just like to personally thank you for fixing up the Statik Majik page. I've created several pages before, but as you can imagine this one was kinda hard to do. Hey, I took a look at your user page and saw that Cathedral (band) were one of your bands so maybe you'd know a few more websites that could help expand the page??!! Also, a picture of the album cover would be good too. I'd do it myself but my knowledge with pictures on Wikipedia is not the best. Thanks again. --Sky Attacker (talk) 02:58, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My edits

I just thought I'd ask politely, some of your edit summaries following edits I've made (Trail of Tears albums) seem a little sarcastic. I do apologize if edit summaries I've made seem obvious, we know YOU know Wiki isn't for random reviews but I made the effort to make it clear to the user who put the thing there; they might just be new, as it's unlikely a troll would bother finding an entire review to plop into an album article. So it's not very constructive to take the piss. If on the other hand I've misunderstood the situation and there IS a problem with any edits I've made (such as might merit a 'Geez'), I am sorry and I'll do my best to improve the quality of what I'm doing as I'm still getting the hang of Wiki, and would like to stay friendly with people who could give me any advice. Thanks, Joncheetham88 (talk) 19:17, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Single infoboxes that have the song length instead of the total single length

Nemo_(song)

Another_Day_in_Paradise

Hello,_I_Love_You

The_Phantom_Agony_(song)

Sledgehammer_(song)

One_of_These_Days

City_of_Blinding_Lights

These are all singles by artists you know. Also, see this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_Single

The three examples all use song length. One of them even separates single version / album version length. Now please stop reverting my edit on the Being Everyone single page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Onno 91 (talkcontribs) 20:04, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

'Weasel Words' Rule in Black Clouds & Silver Linings: Reception

Just thought I'd comment on the back-and-forth you've been having with "71.109.231.67" in regards to the line "Currently, the album has received positive reviews." In your most recent deletion of that line, you cited the weasel words rule as your motive. I was just curious as to your reasoning in saying that. As I understand it, that rule prohibits "words or phrases that seemingly support statements without attributing opinions to verifiable sources" (from the weasel words guideline article). He backed up the statement "Currently, the album has received positive reviews" with positive reviews from Allmusic and from Rich Wilson's article for Metal Hammer. Considering the reviews the album has received so far, do you disagree that the current state of Reception is 'positive?' Do you think he's generalizing too much from these early reviews? I'd like to know what you think about this. You seem knowledgeable, and I'm new to Wikipedia and still trying to figure some of this stuff out. Thanks! --Granedit (talk) 00:13, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In reference to the iPhone as a musical instrument on Black Clouds & Silver Linings

Jordan Rudess uses a special app that allows him to use an iPhone as a musical instrument; for reference, consult this link : Rudess Meets Bebot --Granedit (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:38, 21 June 2009 (UTC).[reply]
