Adding move to commons and orphan image templates is automated and performed by bots - there is no need to do this manually Bulwersator (talk) 07:16, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

R3

  • Hmm, the Speedy deletion criteria page is a little different from the template's recounting; I'll think about it, although in general, missing a " is a pretty plausible typo anyhow. One missing, extra, or misplaced character is a pretty common typing mistake. WilyD 06:30, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

That is quite a mess you are cleaning up there. What was with the db-r3 denial anyway? Trying to make things as hard as possible. Thanks for all of the hard work! Jim1138 (talk) 07:11, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure thing. I personally think the two from the section above qualifies for R3, but the admin didn't. -- 76.65.128.252 (talk) 07:13, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
BTW: Have you considered wp:proposed deletion? Might be simpler. I am not that familiar with it. Cheers Jim1138 (talk)
WP:PROD doesn't apply to redirects, AFAIR. -- 76.65.128.252 (talk) 08:07, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's correct. BigNate37(T) 22:38, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-English redirects

It's a little disruptive to have a pile of these redirects nominated while the discussion at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2012 August 24 is ongoing. It has already spilled onto other pages, and the more of this type of nomination that we get right now, the more of a mess sorting things out will be. Would you please hold off on nominating this type of redirect until after the dust settles on the initial debate? BigNate37(T) 20:32, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

They're not all nominated for the same reason, since I've used different reasons for them. And it is RFD, redirects for discussion, where redirects are put up for discussion. I have bundled them in logical units, so not every redirect is separately nominated. Each set is nominated under a rationale customized for that set. I've also limited the number of sets nominated each day, so that there are not all that many sets under discussion on each day. Some of the non-English redirects under discussion use a rationale not pertaining to their language appropriateness. Though since I've already nominated all the ones I found while investigating Demi Lovato (all the ones I found resulted from investigating that) I don't think I'll be nominating more in a while. -- 76.65.128.252 (talk) 22:28, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I recognize that you're doing it sensibly, and thank you for that. However in the short term I think it's best if we put a hold on things until a more general discussion has taken place (I think I put it better at D. Lovato's RfD, if you're watching that). As an aside I do appreciate the effort you're putting into improving our redirect landscape, and in general I agree with your nominations. Please don't take this as an attempt to chastise you, but as a request from someone who respects the work you're doing. BigNate37(T) 22:37, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
