Quinta da Beloura is an affluent gated community and golf resort in Sintra, Portugal, on the Portuguese Riviera.[1] The community is known for hosting numerous noteworthy golf tournaments, tennis opens, and equestrian/dressage events, as well as for being the home of numerous famous personalities.[2][3][4]

Quinta da Beloura is one of the most expensive real estate markets in Portugal.[5] It is home to one of the Portuguese Riviera's most significant expatriate and international communities, as well as to the Carlucci American International School of Lisbon.[6]

History

Quinta da Beloura was founded as a planned community in the Sintra Mountains, the traditional summer domain of the Portuguese nobility.

Golf

Quinta da Beloura's golf courses were designed by famed American golf architect Rocky Roquemore, who also designed the courses at Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo in the Algarve.[7]

Tennis

Beloura Tennis Academy (BTA), one of the region's preeminent institutions dedicated to tennis, has hosted the Portuguese Tennis Federation's prestigious Campeonato Nacional Absoluto (National Absolute Championship) in 2017.[8][9][10]

BTA is known for hosting its annual Beloura Junior Open, a European qualifying tournament.[11]

Beloura began holding its Futures tournament series in 2017.[12][13]

Equestrian

The Quinta da Beloura Equestrian Center (Portuguese: Centro Hípico Quinta da Beloura) is one of the premier equestrian facilities on the Portuguese Riviera, having held numerous important equestrian events.

The community hosted the prestigious 2017 and 2018 Troféu de Dressage em Póneis (English: Pony Dressage Trophy), an annual dressage competition held between equestrian academies of the Portuguese Riviera.[14][15]

Beloura hosted the 2017 Portuguese National Horseball Championship.[16]
