Rafael Stone is an American sports executive who is the general manager of the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).[1] He was formerly a lawyer and then the executive vice president of basketball operations.[2]
Stone was born and raised in Seattle, Washington.[3] He played varsity basketball for four years before graduating from Williams College with a degree in history and political science before he graduated from Stanford Law School.[2]
On December 2, 2020, Stone traded Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards for John Wall and a lottery-protected first-round pick.[4][5]
