Jefferson Smith has always been something of a mystery. Born in several different communities scattered across Canada, he has never been able to stay put for long and has spent his entire life walking the byways of distant realms, seeking out stories of the fantastic. Like the time he devoted two months to shoeing the seahorses of Narnia, or that six-week stint as a comic jester for the Mad King Aerys. He even spent three months once, sculpting dreams in light for a Mouse-lord in Hollywood.

But no matter where he goes or what he sees, Jefferson has a passion for gathering the best bits and weaving them into tales of whimsy and delight for his friends back home. Like a foreign news correspondent reporting from the worlds beyond, he brings tal

It SHOULD be available, and all my other books are still there... I see that it's also still available on Kobo, so it's not like I have an evil second personality who surfaces from time to time and deregisters my books. Anyway, I've started an investigation with Amazon, but that doesn't help you now. If you contact me through my web site (creativityhacker.ca) I may be able to hook you up a different way.(less)

When I find myself struggling for how to continue a story, it's ALWAYS because I've lost touch with the character's needs and ambitions. And the solution is ALWAYS to back up, figure out where I deviated from keeping faith with my characters, and rewrite from there.(less)

FlipGrip: Read books while running. No, seriously.

FlipGrip in the hand

FlipGrip in the handThose who’ve been following me for a while will know that reading books on the treadmill is kinda my thing. But what you might not know is how annoying it has always been to actually flip the pages. For years, I’ve been forced to keep a keyboard balanced on the console, just so I could hit the PageDown button every now and then. When I was actively writing ImmerseOrDie reviews, having the keyboard

Jennifer Varnadore Did you change your website name? I tried going to it, and it failed to do so. :<

Jefferson Smith Welcome aboard, Lucinda. Yes, working in special effects was a lot of fun, but exhausting, too. I'm glad I did it, but I'm glad I do other things now, too. :-)

L Dear Jefferson Smith,
I would like to thank you for the unexpected but most humbling friendship request here on Goodreads, which is a fanatastic site where one is able to converse with so many likeminded people both readers and authors. I am a huge fan of the fantasy genre amongst others, and i do hope that in the future i have the oportunity of reading your book 'Strange Places: finding Tayna' which caught my eye instantly with its striking cover and origional plot.
Thank you once again and do feel free to discuss anything about books, writing, ideas and thoughts.
Lucinda x

(oh, and wow at working in special effects! That must have been increadible).

Jennifer Varnadore I'll friend you on Facebook. I deleted my twitter though.

Jefferson Smith Jennifer wrote: "Hey, so when do you think you're next section to the Tayna series will come out?"

Thanks for asking, Jennifer. My publisher tells me the release is scheduled for December, although we're talking about releasing some sneak peeks before that. If you want to stay abreast of any announcements, friend me on FB or follow me on Twitter (@Jefficus). (There's also a cool contest going on right now, which you can learn about at those same coordinates.)
