After Kyle's ordeal at school, his mother packs him off to the safety of the countryside, where there will be no temptation to use his powers, and he can forget the bad things - like the fact that his dad is a monster determined to destroy the world. But here's the thing about the it's full of nature, and nature sometimes has claws. Followed by a spindly figure in the woods and attacked by crows, Kyle is about to discover that NOWHERE is safe from the invisible fiends…
A brilliant series - but i don't agree with the 9plus age rating as some of it is genuinely violent/scary/creepy. i'd only be allowing maybe 12 year olds who are not easily spooked.
3.7 probably would have given it a 4 but the last 100 pages or so the book really got less interesting and repetitive with all the bird chasing. I thought it was quite exciting and lots of twists and turns up until that point and then I felt like I was reading the same chapters over and over again
The part of the book I did enjoy was it was like a very gory goosebumps and for a children’s book was really quite scary. The derogatory term ‘midget’ used towards the end was irrelevant and disappointing to see used in a book for younger audiences.
