I only saw him as my best friend’s little brother . . . until I married him.

Getting pregnant before the wedding wasn’t my plan, but surprise! Then my fiancé (correction, ex-fiancé) tells me to take care of the problem. And that’s how he becomes my ex.

But being a single mom in this small town won’t be easy. Maybe not even possible. I’m a large animal vet. It’s not like I can take my baby to work with me.

Then my best friend’s younger brother drops to one knee and proposes so that I won’t be a single mom.

After hours of pondering, I accept Parker’s impulsive proposal.
Romance has never been part of our relationship, but he treats me better than anyone I’ve ever dated. He’s caring, protective, and more than a little good looking. Way more than I deserve.

But I really didn’t think about the day-to-day of married life. Or what it would be like to see him without a shirt all the time. He’s no longer the scrawny kid who liked to tag-a-long. He’s a full-grown cowboy and quickly becoming my best friend. (Well, my other best friend)

Just when I think maybe a happily-ever-after is possible, tragedy strikes.
Now that there's nothing to save me from, I have to let him go. But walking away from my knight in shining armor will absolutely shatter my heart.

More Than a Silly Crush is a lovely addition to the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs series. It’s sweet and charming, and the romance between Parker and Bluebonnet is wonderful. Like the other books in the series, this one focuses a lot on relationships. Friendships, family, romantic relationships, and more are explored, and I like how the book highlights the importance of setting boundaries, nurturing healthy relationships, and knowing one’s worth.

Parker and Bluebonnet have known each other since they were kids, and though Parker has loved her for years, Bluebonnet has no idea. They make such a great pair, and I really enjoyed their friends-to-lovers romance. Parker is so husband material! Attentive, supportive, and thoughtful, he is always there for Bluebonnet, and when she is pregnant and single, he jumps at the chance to marry her. Though Parker’s sure of his long-held feelings, Bluebonnet is just starting to realize that her feelings for Parker are more than friendly. It makes for an entertaining and

There’s also a great found family aspect of the story. The people of Stargazer Springs Ranch are fantastic secondary characters, and I love that the main characters from previous books have roles in this one. You don’t have to read the other books to follow this one, but if you did read the others, you’ll be happy to see some recurring favorites.

Parker’s family is amazing too, and they treat Bluebonnet as one of their own. I love this for Bluebonnet, especially since her relationship with her mother is so toxic. I feel like Bluebonnet learns a lot about herself and what she wants (and doesn’t want) in her relationships, and though she doesn’t have the support and love from her mother, she finds it in Parker and the other people in her life.

I would definitely recommend this book and series to people who like clean contemporary romances. It was sweet and entertaining, and the sweet moments and the funny, laugh-out-loud moments balance the more serious subjects well. The next book features Dag and Goldie, and I can’t wait for their best friends-to-lovers story! Special thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

I enjoy the author’s prose, that’s why this got 3 stars and not 2.

Some of the other storylines I’ve read in Stargazers, solid, this one - so much of it made me cringe. The ex; the need to not be single due to perceived discrimination; the way the community didn’t question more of the relationship; the main man - it’s makes me feel icky.

I understand why decisions were made, the town and its culture, and it made me sad, mad, disgusted and similar feelings of ick. The MMC was well intended, he also seemed to care for the FMC and showed what it is like to be loved - that piece was heart warming.

I also understand there are communities that operate this way and place judgements on folks, discriminate based on people’s individual life choices - I didn’t like reading it in a book that put such a positive spin on it when none of what happened was okay.

Bring on the cowboys! I am loving this fun and swoony series from Remi Carrington! I was drawn to Parker in past books and was so happy to read his story in More Than a Silly Crush.

I think everyone needs a Parker in their life! He is a total sweetheart. He is so gentle and caring to Bluebonnet. He is willing to do whatever he can to take care of her every need.

Bluebonnet has found herself in a difficult situation at the beginning of the book. She finds out she is pregnant and her fiancé John leaves her. Parker steps up to help. Bluebonnet is Parker’s sisters best friend and he has had a crush on her forever. He enters into a marriage of convienance not knowing if her feelings for him will ever become more than friends.

I really loved Parker’s family. They cared for Bluebonnet like their own child and never questioned Parker’s decision to marry her. They trusted that he was making the right decision and supported him and their marriage. It was very refreshing.

I love the journey that the marriage takes to become real. There is growth that happens, especially on Bluebonnet’s part and difficult situations that are done very well. There were also some fun situations like a squirrel in the bathroom that play into this. The moment when both Parker and Bluebonnet realize what they have is much more than a friendship or a marriage of convenience is incredible.

This book was absolutely adorable and is full of all the fun moments, an obsession with pickles, swoony kisses, a growing community that feels like family, and a beautiful, satisfying ending.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved this book!! This is the second one I've read by Remi Carrington, and I hope to read more.

The chemistry between Bluebonnet (which is such a cool name by the way) and Parker was brilliant, and they were PERFECT for each other. Also, that squirrel scene was hilarious!

This book sucked me in and wouldn't let me go! I stayed up till 3:30 am and even when my eyes began to slip closed and I was fighting to stay awake, I didn't want to stop.

I really liked how the miscarriage was handled. It's such a difficult topic that sadly many people can relate to, but Remi dealt with it a way that was gentle, yet very real.

This story touched my heart and made me truly feel for the characters and I highly recommend it!

Thank you Remi Carrington for the ARC!

More Than A Silly Crush by Remi Carrington is such a sweet book! It’s book #4 in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs series. I would recommend reading them in order, but I wasn’t lost starting with book 4.

I was a single mom before my husband came along and if a handsome cowboy had proposed to me when I was pregnant, I would have found it really hard to say no. Thankfully my “Parker” did eventually show up.

I loved Parker and Bluebonnet’s story. Parker was so sweet and attentive to Bluebonnet throughout everything that was going on. He showed Bluebonnet how much he loved her by his actions, not just worlds. The romance in the book was perfect. Plenty of swoony kisses and conversations. I was ready to smack them both toward the end of the book, but everything worked out. The book moved along at the perfect pace. I couldn’t put it down and I read it in one sitting. If you need me, I’ll be binge reading the rest of the series.

Blurb:

I only saw him as my best friend’s little brother . . . until I married him.
Getting pregnant before the wedding wasn’t my plan, but surprise! Then my fiancé (correction, ex-fiancé) tells me to take care of the problem. And that’s how he becomes my ex.
But being a single mom in this small town won’t be easy. Maybe not even possible. I’m a large animal vet. It’s not like I can take my baby to work with me.

After days of pondering, I accept Parker’s impulsive proposal.
Romance has never been part of our relationship, but he treats me better than anyone I’ve ever dated. He’s caring, protective, and more than a little good-looking. Way more than I deserve.

He falls first. Childhood friends. The sweetest cinnamon roll hero 🥺 Veterinarian heroine. Marriage of convenience. Best Friend's litte brother. Reverse age gap. Squirrel intruder.
This. Story. Ya'll. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 I cannot handle these men that Remi writes 🥺🥰 Just constant swoon. *melts into a puddle* If you want to read about a great man, grab this book. (And every other one that Remi writes😉) I fell in love with Parker in the earlier books so I was thrilled to finally get to his HEA!! Also, that bonus epilogue 🥺🥺😭😭 Parker and Bluebonnet's love story was so freaking fantastic! I read it twice it's so good. Highly highly recommend!!

💕 RCRS: 3-4 heavier kissing and then almost fade to black, but more implied intimacy rather than a build up. Couple IS married at the time.

⚠️TW: I won't share here for spoilers sake but its hinted at in the blurb and handled very delicately.

🗨 Some Quotes:
Acuprickle has to be a thing. When Parker kisses me and his rough whiskers press against my face, I forget about my nausea. I think it goes away, but I’m not sure because I’m only thinking about how Parker feels.

You look incredible today. Very handsome.”
His eyes twinkle as he smiles. “I don’t have the words to describe how fabulous you look. But you’re beautiful every day.”
“You always were a sweet talker.”
“I don’t sweet-talk everyone. Just you.”

When we do have children, I hope they’re all boys.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because the world needs great men, and I can’t think of anyone better to model that.”
Tears glisten in his eyes. “Wow. It’s like you’re trying to make me cry."

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!!

I have read one other book in the Stargazers series & ABSOLUTELY ADORED that one, too!

This book really tugged at my heart strings!

Remi Carrington was able to take a very hard subject to tackle, and cover it lightly with just enough heartache to go with it.

Parker is so sweet! Plus, the last epilogue really touched my heart!

Plus, Mason still making his appearances was amazing!

I am so happy for Bluebonnet! She was able to get the family she always wanted, and more!

You all need to read this! Definitely one of my top reads of 2023!

I can't wait to see where Dag & Goldie's story goes next!

(And the squirrel! I can't 🤣🙌)

(Also never knew that fries could me me so emotional 😭)

This was such a sweet and wholesome story! I love how well the author wrote about the chemistry between Bluebonnet and Parker while still keeping it clean. I also enjoyed the plot since arranged marriages is one of my favorite tropes! HAHA!
If anybody is looking for a wholesome and clean love story, I highly recommend this! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sweet sweet, I'm always delighted reading Remi Carrington's book. Every installment is unique in son genre and gets you in a sweet spot. I love the touch of fun and the heartaches. Bonny Blue and Dumpling have a one-of-a-kind story, it's so great that they have a background where they grow up together. It is so sweet that Dumpling aka Parker stepped up and tried to help Bluebonnet. I'm so sorry about bonny blue's mother we do have some of those in real life but Dumpling was so sweet in protecting and supporting her. it's sad that she lost the baby.

Remi, Remi, Remi…. What have you done girl? This book was just adorable! Parker was just the sweetest cowboy on earth! I absolutely adored his character and how much he loved Bluebonnet! To have a crush for that long on someone, would be heartbreaking, especially if the person you loved only returned your love with friendship. But when Bluebonnet needed him, he was right there, offering to give her everything and anything she needed. Their love story was so dang swoony and I was here for all of it! There was some hard stuff that Remi had to address in the book, but it was done SO great! There were so many funny moments in this book, and I really don’t want to give anything away, so I will leave you with four words. Squirrel in the bathroom. There. No go read, so you can figure out what the heck I am talking about. So funny!

*I received a copy of this book as an ARC reviewer, but a positive review wasn’t required. All thoughts are solely what I personally thought of this beautiful book.❤️❤️❤️

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Bluebonnet & Parker’s points of view

– a character has a miscarriage

– there is a scene where it is mentioned that parts of a shower curtain (which is wrapped around one of the characters) are clear/see through; only talks about seeing the person’s curves through the clear area

Review:

I’ve only read three of Remi’s books so far, but this is by far my favorite! I had to hold back tears (happy, sad, and everywhere in between) from start to finish between Parker’s unrequited crush and their complete happily ever after. I loved that Parker fell first and had in little ways over the years they’d known each other shown Bluebonnet that he cared about her. I loved that almost everyone but Bluebonnet knew about his crush beforehand. I loved the friendships portrayed in this story (and I’m so excited for Dag & Goldie’s happily ever after coming soon!). I loved that Bluebonnet was accepted into the group easily and loved just as fiercely by all like Parker was. I loved that they showed up for each other and helped without needing a reason. Some of my favorite moments/scenes in this story include: a squirrel, a wedding, a honeymoon, time with the parents, giving up coffee, and dancing.

Summary:

Bluebonnet is excited for the little bundle of joy she’s been gifted with, even if it happened before the wedding. But her fiancé is nowhere near excited about this development. He gives Bluebonnet an ultimatum to get rid of her developing baby or they’re through. Needless to say, Bluebonnet’s fiancé just became her ex. But there are some new issues Bluebonnet has to navigate based on her decision. With living in such a small, conservative town, Bluebonnet worries that her career aspirations might be nonexistent once people discover her current state. But more than that, Bluebonnet doesn’t want to be alone raising her child. She wants her child to have a father they can look up to, just like Bluebonnet got growing up. When Bluebonnet accidentally spills all these issues running through her mind on her best friend’s brother, she didn’t expect anything and was just thankful to have someone in her corner. But when Parker later gets on one knee for her, Bluebonnet is beyond thankful if not feeling a bit guilty that Parker might be held back by her…

Parker has been in love with Bluebonnet since they were kids, but stepped back when she chose to accept her boyfriend’s proposal and became a fiancé. Parker just wants her to be happy, even if it’s not with him. But when a turn of events leads to Bluebonnet needing help, Parker is completely willing to step up for her. Offering marriage is just a small step towards the happily ever after Parker hoped for and it gives him the opportunity to show her just how well he knows her and cares for her. She may not think that he benefits in anyway from their arrangement, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. If only Parker could get Bluebonnet to understand just what she means to him…

More Than a Silly Crush is the fourth book in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch Rom Com series. This can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone if you haven't read the previous books in the series.

More often than not, when I hear 'marriage of convenience' my mind automatically goes toward history. I think we see that trope used much more there, and frankly, it can be hard to make that work believably in a more contemporary setting. But in this story? It absolutely works, and I couldn't get enough. Part of that definitely has to do with Parker. I love how attentive and sweet he is towards Bluebonnet and I couldn't help but root for them to get their happily ever after. These two together were just perfection (even when I wanted to knock some sense into them to get them to communicate!)... and the side characters just helped to bring the story to the next level too.

Content warning (potential spoiler): Do you ever start to read a book blurb and find the beginning part so intriguing that you don't really read through the rest of it in its entirety? Yes, this was me with this book. From the very first sentence, I was in and couldn't wait to read it... and while that's not always a bad thing, had I read further I might have been a little more prepared for some things that happened throughout the story. Simply put, this story takes on the difficult topic of miscarriage. As someone who has dealt with recurrent miscarriages, this is a topic that I am all too familiar with and one that can be a little triggering for me if I'm not expecting it. Again, it's hinted at in the blurb, so that was all on me but definitely wanted to point that out for anyone else who also needs that heads-up. That said, I think this book handled the topic very well. It felt very genuine and thoughtful, and I very much appreciated that. I think this definitely could have been a make-it-or-break-it moment for me in this book, and it made it.

It's also quite clear from the description that the main character here is having a child outside of marriage (hence the marriage of convenience), and that definitely might not appeal to all readers. I will say that I didn't feel like that topic was glorified in any way at all. The romance in this story is clean/closed door with nothing beyond kisses happening on the pages.

Overall, I really loved this story. It was a quick and often time entertaining read, with the realities of life's hardships blended in and handled with grace. I can't wait to read more in the series!

**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I want a Parker of my very own!

How can you go wrong with a book that starts page one introducing Bluebonnet, the female main character, with “Locked in the bathroom of my little cabin, I stare at the double lines on all five tests laid out in a row…My phone alarm goes off, signaling that it’s time to look at the results. But I’ve been glued to this spot watching since I set the last one down. I’ll totally have to disinfect this counter because eww., but right now, I have other worries.” Then, only a few pages later introduces Parker, the male main character, with “I’m on kid duty. Not full time, Mason stays with Ava and Mad Dog at night, but during the day, he works with me at the barn, and when we have free time, we have fun. Now is one of those times…. Wearing only my swimming trunks and boots, so I’m not bothered by the water, I’m ready.” With this kind of writing you are guaranteed to find a book that is funny and filled with just enough drama to drive the plot with dialogue peppered throughout that is just as poignant and funny. And that’s exactly what I found in this book.

In this funny reverse age gap romance where Bluebonnet is older than Parker, I found two wonderful characters that drew me into a surprise pregnancy romance. Although this is a trope that I am not usually a fan of, Carrington created such a perfect book boyfriend in Parker, that I found myself falling into this book anyway. Accepting of the situation that Bluebonnet finds herself in after her fiance, John, leaves her, Parker is able to step right in and begin courting her. Finally, he is able to show her all the love and connection he has felt for her because he was masking his crush. Although John sees this child as a link in a chain holding him back from his future, Parker sees this same child as a promise of a future for him and his new family. Although fate does not often play fair with Bluebonnet and Parker, his love for her and her growing awareness of him as something other than her friend’s brother and side-kick, allow this couple to grow and stand together in the face of all adversity. A well paced romance, with just enough drama to drive a well developed plot, and a couple that finally finds their moment to get together, More Than A Silly Crush will have you wanting to find a Parker of your very own.

More Than a Pair of Jeans, #1 - Lovely. Funny. Cute. I had so much reading this sweet romance. Wonderful characters and interesting story lines. Written by a lovely Texan and set in Texas, complete with horses, cattle and goats. Cannot forget about the mice and kittens. Plenty of social media, too. Has a preview of the story. 5*

More Than a Pretty Face, #2 - I just love this series. This story has such cute and sweet characters with plenty of humor. No silly mind games, just people trying to make a life with the person that they love while taking care of their friends. Living well, working hard and loving with all their hearts and souls. 5*

More Than Falling in Love, #3 - Plenty of matchmakers in this cute, sweet romance. Mason has a great part and the rest of the Stargazer crew is right in the thick of it all. Well written. Lots of fun. Lots of romance in the works. 5*

This was a sweet marriage of conveniences read! This trope is so adorable to me, and I love it more and more with each book I read. This one was fun too because there were so many different tropes. It was a cowboy romance, best friend’s brother, friends to lovers, and long time crush along with marriage of convenience of course.
Parker has been in love with Bluebonnet for forever, but she has only seen him as a little brother. However, when her jerk fiance refuses to step up when she gets pregnant, Parker offers to help Bluebonnet and marry her. But will Bluebonnet ever see Parker as more than a silly crush?
I loved Parker so much! I think it can sound like he would be immature because he’s younger than her, but I think it really shows that people grow up and change. To clarify, he is only four years younger than her, but he has been in love with her forever. I loved how supportive and sweet he was! He never pushed her, but he just tried to love and help her however he could.
Bluebonnet was such a fun character! She’s more stoic than Parker, and she had to grow some emotional maturity. Her mom had left her with a lot of emotional scars that she had to learn to work through. But I loved her, and honestly, it was fun to watch her pretend she didn’t love Parker ;)
The found family in this is just perfect! The cowboys are all such sweethearts, and they truly look out for one another like family. I’m interested to see how Dag and Goldie’s story works out too.
This is a clean romcom with some innuendos with a fade to black scene. I would definitely recommend it to any lovers of cowboy romances!

I adore this series! Parker and Bluebonnet's story is filled with so much goodness!! It's super cute.

When Bluebonnet finds out she's pregnant, her fiance gives her a choice. She makes hers and ends their engagement. Afraid of being a single mom, her best friend's little brother, Parker steps in and proposes. Horse wrangler Parker sees their marriage as the chance to get the girl he's been in love with for years.

I adored the sweetness of this story, the tension of their mutual attraction, and the hilarious situations. I could totally relate to the squirrel situation 🐿…. I've been there…it can happen. This book is more….

It's a touching and emotional story. I didn't read the full blurb, because this series is an automatic read for me, so I wasn't prepared. If you read the blurb, there is a very clear hint that Bluebonnet has a miscarriage. The topic is handled well and is thoughtful and genuine.

Parker captured my heart with all his swoonyness. He's attentive, caring, thoughtful, and sweet. Prepare to fall in love! I write this afraid of giving anything away. There was just so much goodness.

This marriage of convenience story may feel a little far-fetched with Bluebonnet's concerns with having a baby out of wedlock, but when you get to understand her relationship with her mother you understand why appearances are important to her.

The second epilogue made my heart happy. Oh…and the first epilogue has me ready for the next book. I can not wait.

This is another fantastic addition to the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch Series. I adore the strong found family element of the ranch. This can be read as a standalone, trust me you'll want more.

This book y’all!!! It was so good!! First off, Parker was the absolute sweetest!! He had a 15 yr long crush on his sister’s best friend, Bluebonnet! (And let me say, I love their names!! They fit them so well!)

When Bluebonnet has an unexpected pregnancy and her fiancé doesn’t want the baby she ends the engagement. Parker sees this as his chance to step in and marry her to take care of her and to love her like he always has wanted to do! I mean….can he get any sweeter??? What follows is a lovely mixture of hilarious situations and heartfelt moments!! The swoon factor is high!!! 🥹I loved watching their love story unfold!! All Parker wants to do is make her happy and smile, which he does through all the smalls things!! ❤️❤️ They do have some rough spots that Remi handles with such care and delicacy! It was so beautiful and crafted so well!!

Things I loved:
🤍Water gun scene!! 😍
🤍The wet squirrel in the toilet!!😳
🤍Late night drives!❤️
🤍ALL the kisses!!! Wowsa!! 😉
🤍Cheeseburgers with all the pickles!! ( Give me all the pickles!)
🤍He falls first!!
🤍Singing in the shower🥹
🤍See-through map shower curtain!! 😂 IYKYK
🤍Named his horse Bonnet after her!!
🤍Their adorable nicknames, Dumplin and Bonny Blue!! (Y’all know I’m a sucker for nicknames!! )❤️

This is the 4th full novel in this series with a prequel novella, as well!! This was my first read from this series, and now I need to read the others!!!

A side note: I can’t wait to read book 5!!! You’ll have to read to find out who it features!!!😉

Thank you to the author for letting me be on your ARC team!! I’ve truly loved this book!! I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion!

Romance level: kissing 🔥; pre & post marital sex mentioned (no details)

I love this story. Parker was such a kind, loyal & sweet man. His patience was outstanding. He just jumped in to help the woman he loves.

I liked how down to earth Bluebonnet was. She always had everyone's wellbeing in mind & didn't take making decisions lightly. Having a reverse age gap was really interesting!

The chemistry between these two was really good. The curtain scene was so funny😂 but also it was so intense!! It was the top of their restraint & chemistry🔥. Also, their nicknames were something unique & significant for them.

I loved their small routine & how sweet they were for one another. Their night cuddles were the cutest 😍. The small details & support through everything was the best. There wouldn't be anyone better for Bluebonnet than Parker.

The epilogue & bonus epilogue made my heart so happy!! I'm glad how it turned out for these two🥺. The friendship & camaraderie between those cowboys is just so pure 🧡. I love this series.

I'm super excited for Dag's book! We got a small glimpse in this book of everything going on with him. Also, in Remi's newsletter there was a small sneak peek! You have to read it now! I can't wait.

⚠️TW: not planned pregnancy; miscarriage; manipulative partner; strained relationship w/parent; manipulative parent.

More Than A Silly Crush, #4 - The Stargazer series, all three of them, have been nothing but entertaining, filled with love, humor and wonderful characters. Combined with well written and thoughtful story lines that meld all the books together, it is difficult to put any of these books down. This is a fun and loving story about patience and best friends. 5*

This whole series is sweet and swoony cowboy romcom, set in a small town. This book in particular is a unique twist to the marriage of convenience and best friend’s brother tropes. Parker is an amazing guy—he was so attentive and loved Bluebonnet so well.

Things I Loved:
-Tea
-Goldie’s story
-More Mason
-The necklace
-Empty Lego box
-Ginger candy
-Singing in the shower
-Clementines & pickles (iykyk ♥️)
-“The funny thing is, John feels like a lifetime ago. And Dumplin’ feels like forever.”
-The end and the epilogue—so good.

I will admit that I was a little hesitant going into this one for reasons mentioned in the content and and trigger warnings, but aside from feeling like some reactions were a little stilted at the beginning, I ended up really enjoying this story and how things unfolded. It wasn’t too heavy and it was really heart-warming. I love the found-family aspect in both the ranch and in Parker’s family, and how both MCs grew and learned through hard circumstances.

Content: This book starts with our FMC realizing that she is pregnant by her fiancé, who she quickly realizes is no good. Pre-marital sex is not glamorized and after marriage there is totally closed-door, not even fade-to-black, intimacy once.

Trigger Warning: Unplanned pregnancy, miscarriage

Their True Love Proved Age Is Just A Number -
Parker had been in love with his older sister’s best friend, Bluebonnet for years, but didn’t think she would give him the time of day. However, fate stepped in and gave him the opportunity for his dreams to become a reality, when Bluebonnet found herself in a predicament, that could change the path of her life.

That last thing Bluebonnet expected was for her fiancé to dump her and for her best friend’s younger brother to step up and propose marriage. What she didn’t know at the time, was that their destiny was already written and that her decision to marry Parker, would be the best for both her present and future life. Their connection was evident to everyone other than themselves, so it took their friend’s and family urging them to openly communicate with each other, for them to finally accept they were meant to be together.

This story took me through a whirlwind of emotions, but I can say the experience was well worth it. Once you start reading, you will find it difficult to take a break until you finish reading the book. Parker’s story is one I have been looking forward to for a while now. The snippets you get of him in other books from the series speak volumes for the kind of guy he is and his book does not disappoint. He’s a charmer, in the non annoying and flirty way, but the true and loyal way. He’s caring…I could go on, but I don’t want to spoil just how wonderful he is.

I really came to enjoy Bluebonnet’s character as well. She’s made mistakes that lead her to where she is at the start of the book. But she is accepting these things, while also going through struggles of the past and I love how her character grows in this story.

And the rest of the characters are down tight delightful in this one. More cowboys from the ranch. Parker’s family. They are all great and I love how they come together for these two is heartwarming.

Pick this book up if you want handsome cowboys, marriage of convenience, incidents with squirrels for laughs, swoony kisses and more. Carrington delivered all that I could want for Parker’s story and more. This book lived up the the hype I created for myself. Such a delightful cowboy romance read.

Thanks to Remi Carrington for the free digital copy of this book! All opinions are my own.

Bluebonnet finds herself pregnant with a broken engagement. But Parker, her best friend's little brother, and the boy who followed them around her whole childhood steps in and proposes so she doesn't have to face being an unwed single mom in their conservative Texas town, she accepts despite the guilt she feels at ruining his chance at real love. But even though they are just friends, this is the best relationship she has ever been in, maybe a happily ever after with Parker is possible?

I flew through this book in a day. Which in this season of my life is very impressive! A captivating sweet rom com, it made me swoon over sweet Parker who is thoughtful and kind and, except for the cowboy part, reminds me of my own sweet husband.

My only slight quibble I have with this book is that it can be a stand alone book but I could feel the holes in my knowledge from not reading the rest of the series. I wish there had been a little more context about some of the side characters to flesh out my understanding a bit more.

This is a closed door romance.

This was a super fun read. Whether you've read the rest of the series or not (Ive read some but not all) it doesn't hamper diving in to Parker and bluebonnet's story.

Bluebonnet thought she had the life she wanted; engaged and ready to plan a wedding, but an unexpected pregnancy shows her fiance's true colors and she chooses the baby over him. She feels that the ultra conservative small town she lives in will shun her for being pregnant and unmarried so she's in a bind. Cue Parker- her BFF's little brother who has crushed on her forever. He steps in a proposes, willing to raise her baby and be a marriage of convenience if that is all he can have.

Now here, I was a little worried that all this conservatism would wear me out, but it didn't the issue was not harped on and instead their sweet friends to lovers journey was always front and center. I was a bit surprised (even with the blurb note of 'tragedy striking') when Bluebonnet miscarried, I rather would have wished that TW was spelled out for me, but it was handled well.

If you want a cute, country-set romp with a sweet sugar cinnamon roll MMC, this on is for you.

Parker had had a crush on his older sister's best friend, Bluebonnet, since he was a kid but he was every bit a man when he stepped in to rescue Bluebonnet from her predicament of being unwed and pregnant. If I had to define what a good man looks like I could simply reference Parker. Because of the circumstances of their marriage of convenience, it took some time and some inevitable rough patches for them to get things sorted out but at the end, I was very satisfied with their happily-ever-after. The characters were wonderful but they were imperfect enough to feel real and their life circumstances also felt authentic. There were some laugh-out-loud moments of craziness that served to bring the couple closer together. And for those who have been reading other books by Remi Carrington, there were some cameo appearances by familiar, beloved characters from earlier books (although this book can stand on its own). Highly recommend! I received an ARC from the author and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.

“I love pickles. But Ive always loved you more.”

Parker is the sweetest guy ever! And the cutest! He’s been in love with his sister’s best friend Bluebonnet for over 10 years but he’s always just been like a little brother to her.

When he heard her situation he didn’t think twice and offered his help. Marry her so that she doesn’t have to raise her child all alone in a small town after her ex fiancé decided to end things since he doesn’t want a child.

Bluebonnet thinks he’s just a really nice guy, which he is, but what she doesn’t know is that he will do anything just to see her happy. The more she spends time around him, they’re married after all!, the more she sees the real Parker and she finds her self being attracted to him.

Parker was so patient with Bluebonnet and so attentive, he really is the nicest guy and he deserves the world. I’m glad that Bluebonnet was able to see the kind of guy she deserves regardless of her past especially with her family situation.

This found family is awesome! The support and love they give each other is amazing. Makes me want to find my own Cowboy! 😉 😊

I really loved this one. Parker is a dream guy, he has been in love with Bluebonnet for years and I just love that he would do anything to make her happy. He’s so patient and kind. I also love Bluebonnet too. She is more complex than Parker. She has a hard time connecting because she grew up in a house with a mother that wasn’t the greatest. She closed herself off to a lot because of that but they meshed really well. They’d known each other for most of their lives. I love the best friend’s brothers trope and this one was perfect.

They didn’t have a normal start to their relationship but oh em gee! Remi did a fabulous job with the emotional subject of a miscarriage and I really applaud that. I’m so happy I found this series and can’t wait to continue it. These cowboys are Awesomeness!!!

I really enjoyed reading about Parker and Bluebonnet. Parker was a sweetheart and showed such good care and love to Bluebonnet. He was ahead of her in the area of romance, as he had had feelings for her for years, so when she was in need, he really stepped up and delivered. Bluebonnet eventually caught up with him on the feelings, but things that happened sidetracked her for a little while and made it hard for her to know what to think and feel. The way that Parker loved Bluebonnet helped her to love herself and to realize that she deserved more than she ever knew. The story wrapped up very nicely in a sweet and loving way. I loved that at the end Bluebonnet hoped that they had all boys when they had children because she could not think of anyone better than Parker to model what a great man should be.

Super clean and super cute story filled with love, humor and wonderful characters! 😍

First of all it is impossible not to fall in love with Parker - he is such an outstanding book boyfriend material: caring, thoughtful, honorable! He had a crush on Bluebonnet for many years and acted on it only in order to help her out!

Secondly, I adored the Bluebonnets character development, her being able to distance herself from toxic relationship with her mom is priceless!

And thirdly, how difficult topic was handled (don’t want to make in order to to spoiler you) - it isn’t an easy discussion but an important one!

Overall I really enjoyed the book! It reminded me that there is good in this world and true love has no limit! ❤️

I was reading this book as a part of ARC team and this is my honest review.
