The world ended the night I was born. Coincidence? I think not.

Stuck living in the catacombs beneath what used to be NYC, I’ve managed to stay hidden. Alive. Safe…ish.

The Supernatural Syndicates that rule the city have been looking for someone powerful enough to give them an edge against each other.

Insert me: A rare female dragon shifter that’s lived underground my entire life.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m no stranger to being confined, but kidnapped and used for some f*ckstick’s gain? Hard pass.

When my guardian fails to return from a supply run, I have to re-evaluate my options. Die alone in the tunnels or risk my life on the surface.

Not exactly a hard choice.

Until three dark warriors that have been searching their whole lives for me finally catch a whiff of my scent. Relentless. Obsessed. Now that they’ve smelled me there’s nowhere to run or hide. Not from them.

A wicked fae. A cruel vampire. An alpha shifter.

I may be the last gold dragon, but I’m as good as dead when they trap me. That is until they claim the impossible.

They’re not here to kidnap me. They want to mate with me.

Protect me. Bed me. Shelter me.

Yeah, they didn’t exactly put it that way, but I know how to read between the lines. These men want me to accept the bond and be theirs.

Being naive is what got me into this situation. The last thing I want is to stay that way, but if I’m going to survive a city of ruthless bounty hunters and criminals, I need their help.

If only I could convince my lonely heart that’s all I needed from them.

** Bury Me is a spicy standalone paranormal romance in the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe. You can expect 'touch her and I'll unalive you' vibes and three sinfully hot, super growly mates who will do anything to keep her. Mature themes will be present. Reader discretion is advised. **

I felt myself getting lost while reading this. This could be my fault or not, this is up for debate. Although it's considered a stand-alone, I do think you need to read the rest of the series beforehand to fill in some of the plot.

I don't read a lot of shifter romances (probably not the right term), but is it universal knowledge that dragons age super slow? It was continuously mentioned that she had been living under the subway for 50 years, so I initially thought she was an older FMC (despite the cover). However, later on, she explained this was in human years, so I don't know how old she is. Also, are the shifter MMCs slowly ageing as well or is it just her? Confusion just took over.

Throughout the book, nuggets of information kept being dropped and just left there. No, I need you to come back and explain this.

Eg. Vaspir raised her from an egg (this was a new one for me) and one day he doesn't return to their underground home. She explains her relationship with him and says he was a ‘guardian, a teacher, a sometimes lover, a torturer, a warden...’

I'm sorry let's not casually skip over the fact that he was your ‘lover’. I thought this man was like her dad. Nope. You can't just put this in the middle of the sentence and expect me to breeze over it. It wasn't elaborated on until later in the book, but then it implied that he SA’ed her, so I again had to reassess what I thought I had a grasp on. In reality I had no grasp. Maybe ever.

I don't think this sub-genre of fantasy is for me. It’s also a fated mate situation, so the Insta-love is well... instant. 😂

Annie Anderson has joined the Immortal Vices and Virtues family with Bury Me, her contribution to the Her Monstrous Mates season. I've only read (listened to it was an audiobook) one of Annie's books (so far) but I knew I was gonna love her writing and it looks like I was right, Bury was glorious. There was a strong female lead and three powerful men who would bring down the world for her. I ate it up.

For someone who spent their entire life underground with only one person, a person who abused her in every way, Cira is completely different than I would have thought. She didn't let the man (Vaspir) who raised her break her. Cira did things for herself, to make her life better. She learned from all kinds of things from books and learned how to expertly wield all kinds of weapons. Cira is very much about earning things and she takes pride in everything she's earned. Cira is resilient and when she gets the opportunity to experience new things she doesn't take it for granted. Cira manages to hold an innocence without being naive, she is a marvel.

Issac (vampire), Alex (shifter), and Ronan (fae) were already friends before Cira came into the picture. They're all decent guys but are a bit of a hot mess express. All three of them have issues stemming from some sort of family trauma. They want to be better and do better, and they have plans on how to do it. However, none of them were looking for a mate, some turned out to be more open to the idea than others. Don't get me wrong, I love the guys but one of them had to get out of his own way. Eventually, he does and they become a family. The guys are extremely loving and over-protective of Cira, giving her what she needs not only physically but emotionally as well.

Besides the relationship-building that happens the action and drama in this book was great. Issac wants revenge for his family, Ronan believes his father is a horrific person and is not fit to lead the fae faction (he's not wrong) and Alex is busy cleaning up the mess his father (former leader of the shifter syndicate) and brother left behind (in Covet Me). All three of the guys have formed a friendship because they want better for the Syndicate, they want something that benefits everyone and is worthy of a house name. In order to do that enemies have to be vanquished and bodies dropped. Along the way a bit of new magic is revealed, the world continues to grow, and some interesting information gets revealed about Cira. It was awesome.

Bury Me was a great read, I loved every second of Cira's journey. There were plenty of familiar faces including Nikki (Alex's sister) from Covet Me. Annie did an excellent job with all the twists, I absolutely loved them and found them truly surprising. This includes the remaking of the Syndicate. Bury Me had mythological creatures, catacombs, blood feuds, interesting backstories, magical contracts, and fantastic twists. It was a great addition to Vices and Virtues.

DNF@30%.
I don't understand all these high ratings. The writing was just baaaad. It felt like whiplash. One minute she's snarling and the next she's "licking her teeth seductively". Constantly, in all scenario's. That was so tiring to read. I couldn't get in to the story, so I found myself constantly closing the book and trying another time in the day. Three days later, I realised that I can just delete the book.

Wow! This book is definitely spicy and unlike any other by Annie Anderson, although her style shines through. Cira is a rare golden dragon who has lived underground with her guardian all her life. Her quardian has left to get supplies and hasn’t come back leaving Cira suspecting he is dead and wondering if she must be brave and try to go outside her comfort zone and go above for supplies herself. Before that happens men come into her space and the battle starts. After that is over more men come for her only to feel the pull that the men know as finding their mate, Cira is clueless about what she is feeling and tries to kill them even though she is seriously injured. Things get very interesting and extremely spicy at this point in the book with everyone being confused and trying to help Cira learn how life is above ground. I truly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to Annie’s next one! I was lucky to have been chosen to receive an advance copy for my honest review. If you enjoy spicy pnr reverse harem books with rare creatures and fighting, I believe you will thoroughly enjoy this book!

Bury Me (Immortal Vices and Virtues: Her Monstrous Mates #6)
by Annie Anderson

***5 stars***

What does a girl have to do to get some attention? Well, in Cira's case, being a rare golden dragon with three mates that she never knew existed is a good start! Talk about emotional overload with a side of confusion.

Cira's basically been a prisoner her own life, not knowing anything of the outside world, besides what she's been told by her guardian. A guardian that turns out to have his very own agenda.

With the help of her newly found mates, Cira begins the journey of finding out who she really is and the danger and challenges that come with it. Not to mention the enemies that want to hunt her down and destroy her.

This story is action-packed with a side of super sexy mates, willing to burn the world down for Cira. I'd also like to add that the four of them, together in all their sexual frenzy, are smoking hot! Screen melting, if you like. You've been happily warned.

Bury Me

Another amazing book in this shared world. I absolutely love each one. And this one will definitely pull at your heart strings.
Ciera has lived with her "guardian," underneath the city's streets, to stay alive. Little did she know just how close the danger really was. When she finally gets to street level, she finds there's so much more to the world than what she thought.
This book will give you all the feels, and her mates are yummy, too. We get a little peek at some past characters and how everyone is involved with everyone else.
Dive in and enjoy this book

Another amazing book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues series.
In Bury Me we follow Cira, Ronan, Issac and Alex learning about each other and Cira learning about the world after being trapped in the catacombs for 50 years. Cira had been through so much and not once did she ever let her past dictate her further and what she wanted for herself and her mates.
I absolutely loved this story and seeing everything come together as it did.

Original review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Annie Anderson!

Bury Me is the fifth standalone book in the second season of the Immortal Vices and Virtues: Her Monstrous Mates,  and tells the story of Cira, Alex, Isaac and Ronan.

So I have read quite a few books by Annie Anderson and I was really surprised with Bury Me. This book was so different from her other books, in many ways, and I really liked that. This book was spicy and amazing, but it was also about so much more. The story was great, the characters were interesting and I really wanted to know how the story was going to end.

Bury Me is the fifth book in the second season of the Immortal Vices and Virtues world, a Fantasy Romance series with standalone books. I really enjoy reading these books and it’s nice to read a book by an author you know. Like I mentioned before, I have read books by Annie Anderson, but this one just hits differently. Annie Anderson usually has a specific style and her main characters are more or less the same, but Cira from Bury Me is different, but in a good way. I really loved her, and her story, and the men were amazing too.

Bury Me was a great addition to the Immortal Vices and Virtues world and I hope Annie Anderson will write more books like this one! If you’re a fan of Fantasy Romance books then I highly suggest the Immortal Vices and Virtues world. If you’re more into one mate, then the first season is for you, but if you’re into multiple mates, then you should definitely check out the second season! All books are really good and it’s a nice way of discovering new authors!

Worldbuilding:
We're back again in the Immortal Vices and Virtues world, yay!! This installment takes us to the New York Syndicates, where we meet Nikki and her mates' family (if you have no clue who I'm talking about, check out the first book in this spinoff series: "Covet Me" by Kel Karpenter and Aurelia Jane).
This book takes us throughout the city, above ground and below in the subway/catacomb tunnels. Scenes and environments were well written with plenty of detail, so you could focus on the story and not wonder where on earth you were now.

Character development:
Our main heroine is Cira, a dragon that can't shift and who has been living beneath New York in the catacombs since she was born. Her life has been difficult, having never been topside, never seen the moon or the sun, let alone breathe in the fresh air. One day, her slimy guardian goes out for supplies and doesn't return; instead, she finds her lair invaded and needs to defend herself.

As for the men in this installment, we have Isaac, Ronan, and Alex.
Isaac DeSilva, a vampire posing as an enforcer for the Tepes clan, has been preparing for the day when he can kill the one who murdered his whole family.
Ronan Rose, a fae and oldest brother of the Roses wants nothing more than to get rid of the one person bringing so much grief to his family: his father.
Alex Ward, a shifter who abdicated reigning over the shifters but still keeps an eye on things.
They have always been close friends, and finding out they're all mated to the same woman feels almost natural to them. While each of them struggles in their own way, they find the middle ground and strive to be better men for Cira.

One thing that bothered me was that for someone who has lived in tunnels and never seen other people besides her guardian and a pixie, Cira adjusts remarkably well to the topside world (not to mention her mates!). I know she has read many books on many subjects, but this was a tad too easy and fast.

There is nice and clear character development for all the characters throughout the book. They all feel real and believable (though maybe Cira's dragon is a tad too big). Oh, and it was soooooooo lovely seeing all the old and familiar faces pop up in this story!

Pacing and flow:
The book is medium-paced. It slows down here and there, with some faster pacing towards the end, but overall, it was well executed. There is a very good balance between all the conversations and the action between the characters.

The book:
The book was well written, with a good amount of spice (if that is important to you).
It has 438 pages, spread over 35 chapters, and is told from multiple points of view.

Final thoughts:
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, and I liked the story. While it might not have been as exciting as previous ones, it still told the story beautifully. This was the first time I read anything by the author, but I liked her writing, so I will look into her other books and series!

Bury Me is the latest addition to the Immortal Vices and Virtues series and I think this book just became my favorite. Lol I de-voured this book!!! I blinked and the next thing I knew I was halfway through. Yeah, it's that. Good.
Cira is the main character of this book, but the author gives you the POV from her mates as well. Yeah, I know. If you've been reading any of the books in this series you know that. Lol
Cira has had a rough 50 years. Imagine living in the subways and catacombs. Maybe fun for a night but years?? Nope! But when her "guardian" disappears...things start taking a turn. Her life is about to change.
This book is a thrill ride! I loved it! I love how different Cira's story was compared to the others. She's lived such a "sheltered" life and you'll quickly learn why. The drama and tension come piling in and it's awesome.
Now, while this books is borderline fantastic it has a few stumbles. Cira is supposed to have been isolated from the way it's told in the beginning, but then that shifts to say she's been bedded by others, but never kissed. A touch odd really. I wasn't the biggest fan of Alex either. Lol Sorry not sorry.
But this book from beginning to end? An absolute must read.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love Annie Anderson's writing and plots. She has such a way of sucking you into a story. This is book 5 in the immortal vices and virtues universe, which can be read as a standalone without reading the other books in this series!

We follow our main character Cira, a woman who has never left home of the catacombs underneath New York City, until one day her guardian Vaspir never returns from supply run, her life turns upside down when three men find her and claim to be her mate.

I loved Cira. She was such a strong character. At the start of this book, with her trauma, she is wary of everyone and everything. She has a child like charm to her with seeing things for the first time! I was rooting for her the entire time!

The boys were amazing, I can't praise Annie Anderson enough for her male leads. Ronan,Alex, and Isaac were incredible characters. All with their own trauma and goals that they put aside for their mate when she needed her most.

Anderson is able to do romantic relationships as well as smut with the perfect balance of the plot. She is truly a queen, and I love her books every time I read them!

“If you know me in real life, no you do not.
If you are blood-related to me, close the book.
And on the off-chance that you raised me, I'm going to need you to back away and set fire to whatever device you're reading this with.

For everyone else...
You're welcome.”

I really hope the dedication means it’s sppiiicy!!

As always thank you to the author for the chance to read and review this book, the series is best read in order but it’s not compulsory but I’d recommend starting with the Immortal Vices and Virtues series and going from there cause 🥵 it’s good.

Cira was born the night the world ended… never having seen the sun or moon light she’s lived for 50 years beneath what used to be NYC in the catacombs with he mentor Vaspir.

I mean - chapter one and I am hooked on this story!

Our girl Cira seems to be suffering from some serious Stockholm syndrome.

This was a saga for the greats! I mean W O W!

You need to read this. I loved this so much.

This whole series is brilliant I really cannot praise the authors enough.

An epic read with lots of spice, love, revenge and retribution.

This book was everything that I’d hoped it would be and more. From the very beginning of the book until the very last page of the book I was enthralled. Secrets and pasts, lies of omission, the chemistry and the battles, this book literally everything you could ever want. Cira is a beautiful character that show real growth through out the whole book. This is a great addition to the shared world.

Oh my goodness! Love love loved it! Cira is a total badass in her own right, not needing anyone to physically fight her battles for her, the plus side that she doesn't need to makes it better. The bond between them all is great and the cast of supporting characters is just right. It gives a little detail to them that makes you want to know them more- especially Pollux. This was a great little read.

Steamy and fiery! I enjoyed this fast-paced RH full of a wide cast of new and previous characters from the series.
It was fun, suspenseful, seductive, and full of plenty of sexy times with 3 dangerous men and one feisty mate they’d do anything to please!

Strong & Snarky Writing Carry Enjoyable Standalone While Pacing/Character Development Rush

Bury Me is my first read by author, Annie Anderson, and I am a fan. I very much enjoyed the writing style, the characters, the descriptive world, the dialogue, and the overall story. Author Anderson also avoided one of my reverse harem pet peeves, when a harem member serves as a story crutch and not a developed character. In this book, readers experience and understand all three of the leading men, in a good balance. I also like that the relationships were not limited just to love interests, there were friendships and family connections developed as well. Even more, though spice is detailed on page, it’s not the focus/meat of the story. Meaning the intimate moments can easily be skipped if that is not your thing, and I am more comfortable referring this book to some of my “not reading for the spice” friends. Note, it is still paranormal romance. So the romance, just not the spice, does drive the overall storyline.

Even though I immensely enjoyed Bury Me, I took a star away from my rating. I did this due to what I’m calling pacing issues. The story pacing reminded me of a boulder pushed downhill. It started slow with good build, development, and a lot of promise; however, a lot of things needed to be resolved quickly at the end and the pacing flew into the conclusion. Additionally, Cira’s development is hard to digest and believe in such a short narrative. It is just not realistic – 50 years of isolation to a well–functioning Queen in days to months. Overall, the potential of this story was limited by the restrictions of a standalone book. But with that limitation acknowledged, I still highly recommend it.

Summarizing this very enjoyable read:

🐉Length: Novel

🔥Genre: Paranormal romance/dystopian fantasy – established magical world and various magic beings

🪶POV: Written in first person – we read from both the male and female main characters

🩸Age: Adult (main characters vary in age from 50 years or younger to 400-ish years)

🐉Warnings: Language, violence, and sexual content. The heroine has a history of isolation and abuse of all types (mental, physical, sexual), this occurred prior to the events of the book and is only referenced not described.

🔥Spice: Descriptive on page loving occurs between Cira and all of her men. There is a mating heat/frenzy, biting, voyeurism, and other play.

🪶Violence: Fight-focused, with bloody descriptions, including violent interrogation and torture.

🩸Editing: Not perfect but did not distract from the story. I cannot think of any significant errors.

🐉World: Post-supernatural-apocalypse Earth – No Man’s Land: The New York Syndicates

🔥Series: Immortal Vices and Virtues: Her Monstrous Mates (interconnected, reverse harem, standalones in a shared universe) – there are a lot of character cameos from other books, which are fun easter eggs for readers of this series. Reading those books is not necessary to enjoy this one. Keep in mind in a shared universe, the more books you read, the more you understand the world.

🪶Tropes: Fated mates; why choose; mating heat; touch her and die; finding oneself; found family; hidden/secret royalty; alpha-males

🩸Ending: The story satisfactorily resolved

🐉Reread? Yes, I think I will

3.5 ⭐️ 2.5 🌶️.. themes: fantasy, romance, RH, action packed, fated mates, dystopian, supernatural beings, instalove, betrayal, evolved political & magic systems, dystopian, touch her & 💀, “I’ll burn down the world for you” vibes from MMC & FMC, found family, childhood trauma / abuse, discovery of self…..

loved the action in this, and the dystopian vibes. loved the bonds between the characters - wish it wouldn’t have been SOO insta love but I was ok with it in this case due to wanting a quick read. Loved all the different supernaturals especially in the shifter category. It is so rare to get more than just wolves or some sort of cat let alone dragons, lions, gargoyles, a phoenix and a GRIFFIN!! So cool. All mixed with vamps, fae, witches, pixies, angels & demons? Loved that. Very unique and interesting system of politics & magic systems. The reason this didn’t get a higher rating is mostly just due to the insta love (not from the men bc I eat that up) but from her. I feel she should’ve been a bit more apprehensive so that it would’ve been more believable how clever she is portrayed as. But yea- overall good fun and unique book! 🐉🐺🧛🏻‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧚‍♀️🪄🧝🏻‍♀️🔥☄️✨

This is something completely new from Anderson and it was incredible! While it was different from her other books in many ways, her style shines through. The complex characters, wit and humor, mesmerizing action, and heart, all scream Annie Anderson and it’s why I will read anything she writes.
The devotion these four had for one another was deep and intense. The way they cared for, fought for, supported, and protected one another was so beautiful. Each character brought something special to their relationship and the story as a whole. Cira, Isaac, Ronan, and Alex will definitely stick with me and their story is one I know I’ll revisit.
I’ve loved this entire series and seeing some familiar faces was a fun bonus but you could definitely read this as a stand-alone and not be lost.

Bury Me - Immortal Vices & Virtues: Her Monstrous Mates #6 - Review

Author: Annie Anderson

Couple: Cira with Ronan Rose, Isaac DeSilva & Alex Ward

Tropes: enemy to lovers, hidden identity, hidden past, found family, royalty romance, RH, why choose, shifter romance, fantasy romance, dragon shifters

Review: A deliciously dark and spicy paranormal why choose romance! Annie gives us a romance that fits in the Immortal Vices and Virtues world perfectly and Cira’s story is full of heart pounding lust and hidden family secrets.

Cira is the last Golden Dragon and the story surrounding her birth and origins is one of the main arcs to her character in this story. I enjoyed the way she was innately curious about everything in the world after she was rescued from her crypt underground. I also loved how she was fierce in her own way and wanted to always be independent. The mate bond she feels towards her men was done well and I appreciated how Annie did not push the lust and spice too soon.

The three men that are Cira’s mates are also all familiar faces and I enjoyed getting to see the Wards and Roses again. Ronan is the older brother of Adrian Ward who we meet in book 1 and Alex is Nikki’s older brother who we also met in book 1. I loved how Annie brought the familial bonds full circle in this book and how she resolved old issues between Ronan and Adrian. Each male brings something different to the group and I enjoyed getting to delve into each one’s past and powers.

Isaac was my favorite of the three and I enjoyed how he had the innate understanding of what Cira needed. Alex and his Gryphon were also a favorite to me since they were so protective of Cira but also pushed her to accept her magic and shift. Even though Ronan was my third favorite, I still loved his character. He brought a sense of strength and resilience to the group since he had a ton of experience with creating the masterplans of deception.

This is a spicy read. I loved seeing Cira explode out of her inner shell and grow into a fierce dragon. Each male adds a level of lust and heat into the overall mate bond and Cira is spoiled with affection and devotion, which she deserves! I also loved how Annie unveiled her true dragon and magic. The mysterious way she was so strong and the hidden memories she had added a layer of betrayal to her character once she learned about her past and I was happy to see Niall get his long lost sibling back. The twists and turns were what kept me on edge in this book and Annie did not disappoint with her piece of this interconnected world!

Rating: 10/10, another thrilling fantasy read by Annie!.

4.25 stars! Another fantastic installment in the latest chapter of the Immortal Vices and Virtues world, Her Monstrous Mates. Cira goes from being hidden away from the world for fifty years, to being the target of every nefarious, power hungry group in the world. After one such group leaves her near dead, the next three males who find her seem to have a different sort of agenda. Because they may have gone looking for her to partner with her power, but what they never expected to find was their mate, and now the entire game has changed.

Along with all the fast paced action and political intrigues, we get a couple more interesting journeys with this book. Cira is most definitely a fish out of water in the world. Having only experienced what she knows of the world through books and what very limited info her guardian provided her, she has to learn about a myriad of new things, all while working to protect herself from those who would use her and abuse her power. As a rare golden dragon, Cira is seemingly the most powerful being there is, but what they don’t know, is that Cira is unable to shift. Not to mention the fact that now she has three mates, a relatively new concept for, but they are the only people who have treated her with any level of kindness or respect, and she is immediately drawn to them.

Also adding to the intrigue is that these guys don’t want to rush her into something she may not fully understand, and yet, she is consistently and constantly telling them it’s what she wants, mating with them. And the more they put her off, the more she starts to believe that maybe it’s because of her inability to shift or be more useful to them. Neither of which is even remotely true, but it is really the heart of any unrest between the four. I love all the different personalities we get with this mate circle, and the levels to which these men are willing to sacrifice for their mate so quickly. The spice is really a fairly slow burn, with lots of angst, longing, and chemistry. It’s a great story that also pulls in some of the other characters we’ve previously met in this installment of the series.

Overall, this was a lot of fun with great characters, and a solid continuation of the world that has been built so far. I love all these books and the way they weave together while still telling their own engrossing and interesting stories, and I have not been let down by any one of them yet.

This author is 100% new to me and this book has me wanting to go through her backlog!

Cira has been kept in the dark for 50 years, literally. She was kidnapped as a baby (egg) and then raised by someone who was so hungry for power that he was willing to sell Cira when he couldn't get what he wanted.

Cira is very self sufficient but 100% wary of the outside world. She has been brought up to believe that everyone is after her and will only want to use her, which isn't all that far off, but it was also not quite on the line. After being attacked by 6 males and almost dying she comes into contact with her 3 mates.

Isaac, Alex, and Ronan. All of them different from each other but all have the 1 same goal. Protect Cira. They have had their own goal in mind but when they find her it all goes to the wayside. They are still working toward their goal but if needed they will drop it like a bad habit and just be happy with Cira. Of course they have to take care of a couple thing to ensure her safety but in doing so, they limit her. She didn't leave one cage for another so she takes some things into her own hands to prove to herself she is worth something, trauma makes you do things after all.

This book had such a strong start but as it got closer to the end I feel like it was a little rushed. This definitely could have used more pages to get a little more into detail on the overtaking of land. It also felt off Cira being Queen and her 3 mates kind of being on the back burner when the whole book was about them wanting to take over and be in charge themselves. I mean it's nice they respect her enough to be okay with that change but I feel like they should have had more in the end.

I want to start out by saying that I wish that I could give something more stars than 5! Any of the little things that might have bothered me about any of the earlier books, were a non factor with this one. No unnecessary secrets where you’re yelling at the characters in your book to fess up. Nobody really denied the bond. I never wanted to punch any of them in the face for dumb decisions. This is without a doubt the best one in the series so far! I loved everything about it. And without a doubt my favorite FMC to date in this whole series. Cira had my attention, compassion and respect from page one! Her honesty, naïveté and ultimately legendary fighting skills made her impossible not to love. And I loved that she didn’t just want to be protected, she wanted to protect too. Isaac, Alex and Ronan were perfect mates for her. They embraced her with open arms for the most part almost from the very beginning. And ultimately gave her back some of her family and some closure. And they all had a chemistry and a friendship that was very organic and it made them such a strong and fierce unit romantically with Cira and platonic with the guys. The heat between the sheets was everything and the storyline kept you entertained until the last page. The ending was just wonderful. Absolutely perfect for them. I would recommend this to any and all who love a good RH with heat, humor, entertainment, violence and an HEA.

So This is Annie Anderson's contribution to the Immortal Vices and Virtues: Her Monstrous Mates series. I have not read any of the previous installments but did not feel it was needed as I proceeded through this storyline.
Cira is a dragon shifter who lives in the catacombs under NYC subway and has never been above ground. Her guardian went out for supplies and hasn't returned. Having been warned all her life that men would come to steal her away if they knew she was hidden there, Cira is terrified to poke her head out in search of food/supplies/her guardian. But then it happens and Cira is attacked in her home. Barely surviving, she is rescued by three amazing men (a vampire, a shifter, and a Fae)...though they probably want her for the same reason the previous crew do...because she is a golden dragon and came be of use to their cause.
Thrust into a world she has never seen, Cira must wade through new experiences and decide if Isaac, Alex, and Ronan are hiding something and really out for themselves or if they do truly care for her and are her fated mates. Cira must learn to sink or swim (or should I say...fly) all while navigating new emotions, strengths, weaknesses, and abilities.
It's a wild ride that keeps the reader interested. I just wish this was a true Annie Anderson series and we had more of their story instead of what seemed a little bit of an abrupt ending. I wanted more.

I’ve been skipping around in this world—and that’s one great thing about it, you don’t need to read these in order, but they still all seem to mesh really well.

So this one gives us the usual fun, dystopian vibes—heavier than some other installments, so that makes it a fave for me—and a naive heroine, due to forced isolation, oh and of course, she’s broken. All the makings of some incredibly sweet moments, as well as those which’ll tear at your heartstrings.

I also enjoyed the crossover with ‘Protect Me’ which was such a fun read. This is how an installment in a shared world should look.

Dragons.
Monsters, tentacles.
ALL the supernaturals.
Fated mates.
Vi0lence.
V!rg!n heroine.
Mystery.
Mythology.
Royalty.

Also enjoyed the tie-in with ‘Covet Me’ with that FMC lead being this MMC’s brother. Added in a bit of extra fun. Appreciate the traumatized heroine’s insight and perspective, which did prompt some thought for me, pertaining to my own—very, very well done.

Overall:

4.5 stars

🎧 Audio:
This is an excellent, full-cast production with professional / perfect overall sound quality and stellar performances all around. One of the narrators seemed to struggle with the word ‘Isaac’s’, pronouncing it varyingly, examples: “Issacesisis” and “Isaacses”, etc. It did distract from the reading experience, but only slightly. Overall, absolutely brilliant. 🦩
5 stars.

💣💣ONE WICKEDLY THRILLING RIDE💣💣
Blazing barnacles bill! Annie unloads one sinfully delicious, skillfully bewitching, artfully evocative, rock-my-world piece of decadence. Delivering this highly combustible whirlwind. Weaving through the sizzling heat, fiery passion and flaming desire. Planting the seeds and watching 'em grow. Annie spins a cocoon around us so intricately and precise. Luring us deeper into this tangled web until nothing else exists. Exhibiting the soaring ups and agonizing downs. Beautiful in it's simplicity and breathtaking in it's depth. Revelations are disclosed and promises are pledged, launching this gem to life spectacularly. The undeniable attraction and scorching chemistry collides with such intoxicating intensity and vigor. Exploding with boundless emotions and infinite affections. Pulling our characters deeper, uniting them together beautifully. The characters interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add depth and diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you're part of the story instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Fabulous job Annie, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

Hi Y’all! Come in and grab a seat and a cold drink while I tell you about this book I just read .
The title is Bury Me by Annie Anderson. It is book six in Immortal vices and virtues Monstrous Mates series. For better understanding you should read in order to know some of the characters. However you could read this first and catch on.

The cover is really catchy and goes well with the title. Then I read the blurb and it really got my interest because …

“The world ended the day I was born. Coincidence? I think not!” That’s enough for me but supernatural syndicate and female dragon shifter… I’m all in.

The story is a PNR urban fantasy reverse harem romance with some suspense.

Who’s my favorite main character ? Cira it’s not usual I find a female lead I really like. Was there another character I loved and why). I loved all the men especially Issac. I have a thing for vampires but Moriah queen of pixies is cool too. Actually all the characters are!

There are so many twists. From who her mate is to traitors to all the action.

It’s pretty much hard to put it down.

I loved the ending. It was HEA for this set of characters but left things open for books. Bring it on! )

If you like urban fantasy, vampires, shifters, Fae, post apocalypse ( no zombies , strong female lead, reverse harem ( mf sex only) you will love this.

This is the sixth book in the series. Each book in the series is written by a different author. Cira is a golden dragon she has lived her whole hidden in tunnels under the subway. Her world is turned upside down right at the beginning of the book. First her guardian doesn’t come back from a supply run, then 6 six men show up to kidnap her but she fends them off, then while she is hurt and can’t protect herself 3 more men show up. Those men don’t want to hurt her they want to get her help. She soon realizes they want something else from her. They say they are her mates. That can’t be, she isn’t any good to anyone. She can’t shift and when they realize that they won’t want her either. Cira is about to learn she has been lied to her whole life. Things are much different than she was told. These three men, her mates are going to help her. They do need something from her but they want her even if she can’t help them. I loved this book so much. I look forward to reading the other books in the series. I have added them to my TBR list already. The book is a reverse harem so if that isn’t your thing be warned. Cira is a golden dragon with 3 mates, a vampire, a fae, and a shifter. Together these four will change everything happening in their city. They want to bring everyone together and protect those they care about. I love these characters and the story line. Annie is one of my must read authors. I look forward to her next book.
