I have loved this series since the very first book in the original Pride series. The characters from that series are now the parents/grandparents in this newer version of the Pride series. This book was just as good as the others. You have engaging characters who draw you into their lives and make you root for them to get a happy ending! Then you have a delightful plot of the characters falling in love while dark pasts threaten to wipe away their happiness. You could read this as a stand alone and enjoy it a lot, but I think you would enjoy this book and all of the interactions between all the characters much more if you start at the beginning and read the whole series. I can guarantee you hours upon hours of pure reading joy if you choose to start at the beginning and build the backstories the way the author meant for you to do so!

I love this series. Harper has had such a horrible life, that is until she and her sister move to Pride. She has so many secrets and can't afford to get close to anyone. Nick has been watching Harper for the past year. He knows he has to move slowly, or he will spook her. He knows that she is wary of cops, but he really wants her to trust him. When he finally makes his move and asks her to go with him to pick out a dog, Harper can't resist. She also picks out a dog. All of a sudden, they are together.
How did that happen? She has let down her guard enough to tell him her secrets. Will he turn her away? She couldn't take it if he was repulsed by her. Nick has his own secrets, and he wants to do everything in his power to keep Harper and her sister safe. He wants forever, does Harper?

This is a great series! I was drawn in from the start. The characters are so well-described that they jump to life and pull you into their story.
Nick and Harper both have complications in their lives that they aren’t prepared to share. However, once they finally learn to trust each other, they are able to open up about their secrets. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles standing in their way and have a life together?
Do yourself a favor and catch up on this series. It only gets better!!

Loved this! Plenty going on in this story - secrets, mystery and suspense, romance and some sizzle. Great characters and chemistry and i loved how the dogs were included. I also like that we are left on a bit of a cliffhanger with some answers waiting to come and of course a lead into sister Hailey's story.

Love, secrets, drama, and a bit of an unsolved mystery in this story.
To say that Harper and Hailey Davis had a tough childhood would be an understatement! Their mother had been a drug addict the whole time, and they had barely survived with only each other for support. Moving to Pride was the first time the girls felt safe, but it had taken a while. They both had jobs and were slowly renovating their cabin and starting to relax. They were both getting to know everyone in town and fitting in. They felt like their secret past was safely behind them. Everyone in Pride looks out for each other.
Harper still had her fear of people in authority but seeing most of them out of uniform while she worked at the Golden Oar had helped, and she couldn't help but be attracted to Nick, one of the local police - he was the sexiest man alive to her! What Harper didn't realise was that Nick felt the same way about her! Inviting Harper to help him pick out a puppy was his first step in getting to know Harper better.The only thing was that she also ended up with a puppy.
Nick and Harper's relationship quite quickly develops into more when he offers to help renovate Harper's bathroom. It's during that time when Harper and Hailey's past comes back to haunt them. Can Nick save the day?

Leaves you wanting more.
Great read but the story doesn’t end with Nick and Harper. Love/hate when there is a book continuation. I love the tidbits and teasers of the next story throughout this one but hate that I have to wait to read about Hailey and Reece’s story. I do find the ones that I have to wait for are usually some of my favourite though. So excited for more!

I love, love, loved this addition to the Pride Series!!! Nick and Harper’s journey will fill your heart with sadness, joy, fear but most of all you feel the love…between them and the small town the sisters chose as their home! So looking forward to the next one in this series❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I really enjoyed the newest addition to Jill's Pride Oregon series. I love that we get a glimpse back into the lives of the previous characters while getting to meet the newest match. The story is very well written and enjoyable. Love all of the characters!

Great story. Nick is so patient with Harper. You can feel the fear and how it matches to her past. Nick has his own personal haunting. Fury friends continue to bring them together

The pride series is amazing from book one to book 14. This story has romance, mystery, traumatic experiences, and of course a happy ever after. Highly recommend this story and this series

Another great story in the Pride, Oregon series.
Nick has been trying to work in getting Harper to not flinch everytime he comes in the Golden Oar. Harper has a past she doesn't want to catch up to her or her sister, Hailey.
The story is a good one but leaves us on a bit of a cliffhanger. It was wonderful to see Harper grow so much and I can't wait to see Hailey blossom even more.
