Since losing their beloved third to cancer, Keith Masters and Johnny Lou Reed haven’t thought about filling the void in their lives with anyone else. The former Marine in Keith is suspicious that he can’t turn up any information about Shane anywhere, not even an address. Direct questioning will have to wait until they’ve gotten the boy well.

Shane knows it’s only a matter of time before Keith and Reed figure out his past. And when they learn the depth and the darkness of the secrets he holds, he could get them all killed.

Fabulous… best so far! tortured hearts and selfless love… throw in some action, in and out of the bedroom with three very hot Alpha males… it’s a winner already!

 photo 74dc9e0e-15ad-4ece-b8b6-9bec31b30bce.jpg

If you are into Hot Marines and plenty of smexy Man-Loving, this book can easily be read as a stand alone...

I just love, love, love this series and have read it right from the beginning, anticipating every new release and SE Jakes has never failed to disappoint… with Bound for Keeps being the best so far! I picked it up and it was not out of my hot little hands until it was finished! I am such a sucker for men in uniform,  but with Marines, I go weak at the knees, throw in the all powerful dominate male and you have me in a puddle on the floor, melting and drooling! throw three into the mix and… well, you get the picture!

It’s Christmas Eve and Shane Wills is a man on the run, suffering from pneumonia, broken ribs and hypothermia he stumbles on the home of Keith Masters and Johnny Lou Reed who are two ex Army and Marine men now mercenaries preparing for Christmas, both lost in their own thoughts and still mourning the loss of their lover Bobby. The arrival of Shane takes them both back to a Christmas Eve eight years ago when Rees landed on their doorstep under similar circumstances and became the third for Keith and Bobby. Is History repeating itself?

Both Keith and Reed see something of themselves in Shane, they recognise his pain and know from their own experiences that he is a lost soul, scared and tortured by dreams and nightmares from his past, both realising that what Shane needs from them the most is care, protection and the time to heal. Reed see’s it as a sign, that Shane is meant to fill the void in their lives left by the death of Bobby, only Keith is reluctant, a part of him not wanting to let go of the man that was such a big part of his life, despite his promise to Bobby that they would consider a third.

Shane for the first time had found a home, with two men he cared about and they trusted him, yet Shane was hiding a secret that he can’t share without also putting their lives in danger, his mind is a mess of turmoil and confusion and he will have to make a choice that could also turn them against him!

Keith is the glue, the dependable, all dominant, strong and tough alpha with amazing foresight and intuition, knows what is needed and deals with things, cool as you like. Reed is still dealing with nightmares from his own past and he needs what only Keith can give him to get through it, without it, he would be as lost as Shane. So we have one top and one bottom, only Shane is also a top, but when it comes to Keith he too cannot help but obey!

I liked the dynamics of this relationship and despite them all being alpha males they each had their own personalities and characters, that worked as a threesome. They didn’t jump straight into things and both Keith and Reed had their own reservations and with a bit of the green eyed monster rearing it’s ugly head it was not all plain sailing. It was however a relationship that was grounded on trust and understanding, both given and received. Together the whole relationship was both healing and cathartic, full of raw emotion, deep tenderness and lots of damn hot sex!

For me, the story is well paced and executed, we get to see the boys in action on missions as well as in the bedroom, there is plenty of adventure, intrigue, love and passion all melded together perfectly. I just adore this series and can’t wait for the next one!

First, let's start with what I didn't like. NOT A DAMN THING! This book was AWESOME!!! We all know I like my men manly, my violence VIOLENT and my sex..well, I don't know y'all like that! But man, I got it in spades in this book. This is a threesome that worked...no easy feat, especially since you had a third person joining an established couple. The author really did a great job here. They all brought something unique to the table.

Keith - I wanted to scale his 6'5 uber alpha ass like a rock climbing wall. Good lawd, HAWTNESS. Badass mercernary but knew when to be sensitive without being all corny and hive inducing.

Reed - Johnny Lou, if you please. Reed held a special place for me because you didn't see him coming. A sub in the bedroom, but deadly out in the field. I lovvvvvvved him.

And the trainee - Shane, the switch. Poor baby. This was a perfect case of someone opening up, finding a home and learning to trust DONE WELL. No hokey nonsense, just manly men finding trust and love and getting it on!

I found this book to be a perfect balance of love, sex and action - something that's usually hard to achieve with m/m mercenary books. I also loved the added angle of the legend that brings people together on Christmas eve. If I had one little niggle, it would be the last spanking scene that kind of didn't sit right because Reed didn't really 'need' one then, so Shane saying he could get what he needed by giving Reed what he did, didn't really fit.

Still, I may have to read this one again SOON. At any rate, 2 thumbs wayyy up and thanks to Purplegirl549 for letting me know this book was out. For some reason, I couldn't get into Free Falling, but the author totally redeemed herself with this book.

This was my least favorite in the series. When dealing with a threesome relationship, it's tricky finding the right balance between all three men, and unfortunately the balance was off for me here. When you add in a sloppy plot, unfocused pacing and constantly alternating POV's, this book leaves a lot to be desired. However, I will say that as I've come to expect, S.E. Jakes can write some hot and steamy sex scenes!

Good, but not the strongest book of the series. The villain was a bit thin, and the chemistry between the characters was a bit off in places. I think I needed to see more of a connection between all three of them. Sometimes it felt like the chemistry only worked when they were in pairs. I liked the characters individually, and enjoy their understanding of what makes someone strong, and how to show vulnerability, and that to open up to others is not weakness. I like how this book, and this series never fall into the stereotype of the omnipotent dominant partner, and the passive submissive; that nothing is set in stone, and everything they do together is about respecting, and meeting the needs of the other(s). I also appreciate that there is no shaming of any of the partners for their needs, or desires. It makes these books that much sexier to me.

I enjoyed this but I had to take away .5 for this kink Still it was good story but I wished there could have been an all out menage scene with the three men. Seemed a bit menage-light. :D

I liked the men a lot. All of them had very distinct and strong personalities. The villain was a bit thin but I liked the resolution.

A Hearts On Fire Review

Wow, SE Jakes is on book 5 of the Men of Honor series and she continues to pack a solid and erotic punch. It's menage time and let me say, it was quite the ride. :P

"Bound For Keeps" maintains the sexy, a little dark & gritty vibe with three damaged alpha former soldiers, Shane, Reed & Keith. Reed and Keith are still grieving for their dead third and are preparing a Christmas Eve dinner in remembrance of their lover, Bobby. The couple get a surprise at their door in the form of an amnesiac Shane...or is he?

Reed, who is a doctor, along with his lover take in the half frozen man who's battered and bruised but reeks of a military background. So expect trust issues to be a major point of conflict for these three. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the makeup of each man. They were all equally damaged, suffering from lost loves and PTSD. Their angst as former survivors brought a sense of realism to their ragged road into becoming a threesome.

I enjoy triads especially when each person has equal say in their relationship. I felt they did in the beginning then it turned slightly into the Shane & Keith half hour show. (I must say the jealousy moment was great...I would have loved more scenes like this) But the men get it together and back on track. Now while 2 out of the 3 tend towards more of a Dom role, all three didn't mind switching at times. SE Jakes is great with delivering hot alpha man sex with BDSM elements or tones that are not strictly traditional but make for scorching reads. (Purists stand down) And there is a lot of sizzling sex that was had in "Bound For Keeps".

A.

Lot.

Unfortunately, Shane has some heavy baggage and it disrupts their upstate NY paradise. What I enjoyed was when we get to the crux of Shane's past and the fight is upon them, it wasn't dragged out. The ending was not painless but fast paced and satisfying.

Can this be read as a standalone? Uh-huh but why should you? The previous four books are some hot reads.

Did I buy these men as a three person couple? Yep, they compliment their flaws and issues well. And the issues they had, they worked together to overcome.

So was this triad my favorite of the series? No. My reader's heart will continue to carry a torch for the menage of Styx, Law & Paulo. "Bound for Keeps" did make for an excellent addition to the Men of Honor series. And I anxiously await book 6, it's finally Rex and Sawyer's turn to star in their own novel.

Can't wait!!

Unfortunately, I once again find myself in the minority because I didn't like this book. Keith is a former marine turned mercenary and a dom. Johnny Lou Reed is a former Army Ranger, a doctor, and a sub. Keith and Reed are still grieving over the loss of their third to prostate cancer. Then on a stormy Christmas Eve, a mysterious, former Army Ranger collapses on their doorstep. Shane, however, has secrets that run deep and a killer after him. The three fall for each other but will have to fight to win their HEA.

Blech. I didn't enjoy this book at all. It was slow as molasses, dry, and boring. I didn't care for any of the characters and the villainous plot was sophmoric. A lot of time was spent examining and comparing battle scars ... *yawn* ... over-analyzing their ghosts and pasts ... *snore* ... and, f*cking ... *zzzzzzzz* I enjoyed other installments in this series but this book did absolutely nothing for me. Even the ending grated on my last nerve. How in the hell would a not-so-sneaky killer manage to knock out and drag two HUGE soldiers, in the snow, without leaving any trace?!?! Uh, he wouldn't. Except he did! But no worries, a skeleton key (for the handcuffs) and a KA-BAR will be mysteriously and fortuitously dropped in through the window. Seriously!??! Give. Me. A. Break. That doesn't even begin to pass the laugh test.

Bottom-line: three uninteresting characters f*ck and ponder their life experiences while going out on super secret missions as helpful and philanthropic mercenaries. Didn't work for me.

Wow, I was salivating at how much I loved this book, all ready to put it on my favorites shelf, maybe even my fuck yeah, 5+ stars shelf when I was finished. But then the ending happened! What a let down. So incredibly anti-climatic. Very unsatisfying. I even knocked a star off because I was so disappointed. Fabulous book about 3 military men who find love with each other, and I am SUPER PICKY about threesome books, but the ending wreaked it for me.

I can still recommend this book to folks who like M/M romance and threesomes, but be prepared for the ending to hit you like a brick wall and leave you unsatisfied. *sigh*

Different from the other books of the series so far - less sex and more plot, I liked it.

The characters were very interesting and pretty deep, with great relationships building throughout the book. I was sorry to see the story end.

Did you ever wish a book would not end? Of course you have and so have I. This is one of them. I was so sorry to see it end, that I felt a prickling behind my eyes. This is the best of the series to me. It had everything I wanted in a story.
We have mysterious stranger Shane that shows up at the cabin of Keith and Reed in the mists of a terrible snowstorm. He is a hunted, haunted man who tumbles into the home of two other haunted men. The mystery of Shane unfolds as he recovers from near death with pneumonia and hypothermia. The interaction between the three is intense and rewarding. Keith and Reed have lost their third of many years. Looks like Shane is filling that vacuum, but he has to be saved from the CIA operative that has burned him. Keith and Reid must come to terms with their loss and whether Shane can fill the void that was left when they lost Bobby. There is a lot of PTSD that has to be dealt with concerning all three. It serves to bring them all closer.
It's a wonderful edition to the series. Sex is good, story is good, characters are wonderful. I give it a secret mission full of stars.

3.5 stars. This was not my favorite, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. It seemed to take forever to get to the truth about Shane. I liked seeing them help each other deal with the PTSD episodes, and when they were all together or together as twosomes, things were pretty hot. I thought the Guthrie deal was a little rushed at the end. I still love this series and am more than ready for more Prophet.

Another winning read for me! Gotta say I am loving hard edged alpha men, throw in a menage into the story and I am in heaven....Oh yes!!

In this story we have established couple Keith and Reed who have lost their third to cancer. Landing on their doorstep (with a thud actually) is Shane. Shane is badly hurt and they nurse him back to health.

This story is about secrets, passion (OMG was it hot) and scars. I loved the action in this one and the dialogue between the 3 characters. I fell into their story and didn’t want it to end, but like all good things....

I didn’t intend to read all 5 books back to back, my initial intent was to move between two different series. Well, once I got started on this one i couldn’t put it down.

LOVE LOVE LOVE...

This was a hard one for me because I LOVE this author's books and the writing was stellar as always. Threesomes are hard and I felt this one was a bit lopsided and I had a hard time with that. I felt like one of the guys was left out a lot physically from both and emotionally from one character. It's probably just a personal thing though! S.E. Jakes is a great writer and I am still a huge fan of this series. Book two in this series, Bound by Law is one of my favorite books.

This newest installment of the Men of Honor series is hot, intense, and has some amazing characters whose past moved me to tears. A threesome, like in the second book, these men carry a ton of baggage each need to deal with before they can become a true triad. Their challenges are very similar, all related to PTSD and their pasts, and knowing the others' problems helps them deal and respect what each goes through.

Shane is the new element. An ex-Army Ranger, he stumbles into Keith and Reed's home, exhausted and sick, at the end of his rope. He is being hunted by a ruthless killer, and as the story unfolds and it is revealed what is going on, the tension and suspense increases. But what is as amazing as this very intricate plot, is the character development Shane goes through. Without saying too much, to avoid spoiling the story for you, this man has a lot to deal with. He is in mourning, has PTSD of the worst kind, is trying to keep Reed and Keith safe, but wants so badly to be loved and accepted. Luckily, when the final confrontation comes, he is as ready as he can be.

Reed is an ex-Delta forces doctor, and has some pretty bad memories as well. Nightmares still plague him, and each new assignment brings back parts of his past he'd rather not remember. He falls for Shane quite quickly, yet is the one more hesitant to take the final step. He is very honest about the jealousy that plagues him when Shane gets closer to Keith, but hates it. Being the submissive partner in the threesome (well, mostly, they all switch to some degree), he often feels like the most needy, but that is certainly only the case in the bedroom.

Keith, an ex-Marine, is pretty much the stable element in the emotional and physical storms that these three have to deal with. He has his issues as well, but he is better able to deal with them. He is mostly dominant, inside as well as outside the bedroom, and a lot more suspicious about the secrets around Shane than Reed is. Once he is involved emotionally, though, he works very hard to solve their problems.

This volume of the series, like the others, is super-intense. Three tough men who struggle with their pasts, have to face real danger in the present, and want to create a home and a future together. They may love each other, but are struggling with finding a balance. If you like thrillers involving military men and secret agents, if you enjoy a good action/adventure with a mysterious but determined villain, and if you're looking for hot and passionate relationship between three stubborn men, then you will probably like this book.

Keith, Reed and Shane’s relationship follows the guidelines for this series impeccably, and by now, I feel pretty much like I know exactly what’s going to happen.
Unfortunately for me, I realized that the “damaged, über-tough men with LOADS of feelings”-concept is slowly starting to get on my nerves.
I also realized that I’m feeling dumber the more of this series I read. It’s probably because of all the forehead slapping.

There is just so much telling me how extremely tough these (ex) Special Forces men are.

Here are some quotes that made me roll my eyes a bit extra:

Or maybe the feeling of losing my grey cells comes from the (too) slow realization that the “Men of Honor” series just isn’t for me!

In the earlier books I have found myself a bit entertained by the story (whatever goes on in in the background while the men get to know each other, share their feelings, fucks a lot and have therapy sessions through BDSM), but not this time. The plot was too thin, and the focus was definitely mostly on their threesome, and how it would work (and of course, the revelations, like the talk about their childhood.Oh the childhood. If one of these character would have a happy childhood, I would surely faint from the shock).
And for once, not even the sex kept my interest. The overdose of sensitive masculinity finally killed my mood.

I'm moving right along to Bound To Break(arc) I just gotta have it all. Oh, but I do have to say that SE Jakes writes one hell of a menage. She doesn't slack on giving me the emotion and the reason for both the menage and the bdsm. Just great!

DNF @ 44%

Ridiculous -- repetition; telling never showing; lack of research and plausibility; disconnected dialogue; fake, wanna-be D/s; anorexically-thin plot line; waste of my time when there are other books on which I could be spending my time.

I am never considering popular reviews again.

AWESOME story.............I loved this installment of the Men of Honor series. Once again SE has created completely believable and lovable characters. I think that one of the reasons the characters in SE's books are so real is because they are not perfect, they all have some flaws and to a certain degree (some more than others) have been damaged by life. I am not going to tell you any details about this story, the blurb does a good job of that, as I don't want to spoil the story for you.........however I will say that the plot was tight, the story was a good blend of mystery, action and exploration and the characters are awesome. If you haven't read any of the others in this series you MUST, I highly recommend them. Believe me, once you start you will not be able to stop. If you have read the other stories then pre-order Bound for Keeps today as you will not want to miss it.

Oh, one more thing, if you like well written sex scenes and three hot men together then you definitely don't want to miss out on this book.

Strong starting with great characters - conclusion is a bit weak and underwhelming but the relationship between the three men really flowed well and I found it very believable. The circumstances are sort of "get out" but the rest is fine. Shane was engaging - Keith and Reed solid. I would have liked more exploration by Reed and Shane as they have similar pasts in some ways. I didn't really understand why Shane was still running - that part didn't make a lot of sense to me. Sex was hot, menage was great and not the focus so it felt more natural, and the healing of an abused hero is always my cup of tea!

This review is for all the books in this series.

I read this series back to back, with only a quick re-read of a favourite in the middle. I was trying to make these books last, but it didn't really work. I had them all read in less then a week.

All of the books in this series were m/m or m/m/m. They all involved military man of some description. They were all nice and steamy.

I can't pick a favourite, and it doesn't worry me. I loved them all, and all of them will end up on my re-read shelf at some point.

Congratulations to SE Jakes for writing such a wonderful series. I am about to go and look for more of her work.

I was gonna give this 4.5 because the ending was so quick and dry and left me un satisfied. After everything how could it end that way?
BUT I was so incredibly freaking happy and swooning! Prophet. It's crazy how I pretty much fell for the character. I can say he's my ultimate favorite of all times. Freaking adore him and Tommy and I want more of them.

Apart from that... I loved this book. Three man with their own problems, grieving on their own. Getting over their own nightmares and just living to best of their capacities.

Each man are very different and alike in their own ways. But they ultimately just click. Perfect.

Another menage! Wow... S.E. Jakes has a thing for menages and she knows how to write one.

I love the military men S.E. Jakes creates in this series and Keith, Reed and Shane are one of my favorite threesomes.

This is a threesome that workes...not an easy task, especially since a third person is joining an established couple and the guys are sharing bad experiences. Nonetheless their attraction finally leads to a strong relationship.

In my opinion the best volume of the series so far. Can't wait for the 6th installment. :)

Two mercenaries who are life partners, grieving their dead third have a Christmas surprise on their doorstep.

This is a decent read because this author is talented in bringing these three characters to life. The story isn't really new and the ending feels rushed. That always leaves me feeling like a door was slammed in my face. Does my nose look broken?

It's a sweet love story with lots of sex and several ménage scenes.

Wow, and wow again. I enjoyed this book best of all the author's previous stories. It is more of a 4.5 because of some of the things I will list below, but over all, a great read, especially for, what to me, was a fairly short book.I didn't think it would happen, but this book made me a bit more excited about the series again.

It was not as formulaic as the previous books, at least not to me, and that is what I think this series needed. The author has gotten smoother with the way she builds the relationships, and the military/special ops/CIA bent is still there, but this book seemed to deal more with the complexity of how to take an injured (mentally/spritually/or physically) human being and how to make it so they can be imperfect with others, but still feel worthy of love.

The characters' shared experiences (mostly PTSD as well as two having similar upbringing, and then the other two having other shared experiences) help to actually twine them together so that you could see a relationship eventually work with them, even though it definitely does not look possible in the beginning, no matter the timing, strength and vulnerability of the MCs. But, I will say the way the ending panned out, it allowed the MCs all to feel stronger in their various roles, and gives a believabilty that they have something they can be proud of and offer to the other two partners. This is the way a menage should work in my mind, if people will do 'the work', so to speak.

I will say that the mention of the military relationship with the former love was unrealistic to me, havng been a former Marine myself, in that they would up front call each other by their first names. That just isn't the way we were known to each other: it was either by our rank, or our last name, so that did give it a touch of 'un-realism' that was a bit hard for me to get past. I did eventually forget about that as I was pulled further in to the story. The other part that bothered me was knowing that the new MC had been in the military for 6 years (or there-abouts) and received a 'dishonorable' but was called a 'PFC' by the Marine..didn't work for me. He may have been busted a rank, but it would not have been to PFC..Either 'private' all the way to the bottom of the rank structure, or one rank, to like a 'corporal', or a 'specialist'. This is just semantics, but does bug someone like me who has been in the military.

The action scenes were not overly 'active' but did break up the sequence of events so the characters could get to know each other on a one-to-one basis, with the supposed blessing of the other partner. But even that brought up some questions that needed addressed, and the author allowed th characters to do it in their own awkward ways,to some degree.

The touch of BDSM does seem believeable with the out of control dreams and flashbacks that they all needed 'snapped out of'. I found myself pleasantly surprised when the new addition was able to be what was needed, and I found myself satisfied with the ending, and looking forward to the introduction of a story for some other characters that were introduced during various 'missions'.

This book can be read on its own without having to read the previous stories, and you will feel satisifed, but if read in addition to the others, the pattern of the author's 'world-building' will start to surface, and you will enjoy the other characters, as well.

This falls into my happy, horny, enjoyable pile. :D There's a really nice erotic edge to this story without tipping over into their being all erotica and no story. I appreciate this story as a menage that works too. Things weren't perfect smooth sailing with these three, but it was more believable for the few bumps in the road.

Keith Masters and Johnny Lou Reed have been through buckets of things together. They've been together as a couple for 8 years, and they've been through the death of their third two years before. Both men had served in the military and now enjoy their work as mercenaries getting to do a bit of good around the globe. They've had their hardships and troubles, but are the stronger together. When Shane enters there life sick as a dog and near death on a cold and snowy night there's no way he could be that perfect third to fit back into their life, especially with all his secrets, right?

I liked that this story didn't have the three men pouring out all their secrets to each other in one fell swoop. There was a time for them to get to know each other and time to learn to trust. For three men all trained up through some of the most secretive branches of our military forces/government all out initial trust wouldn't have been believable. The instant attraction and yearning sure, but there were mental blocks to be overcome before they could really go there.

I liked Keith and Reed's dynamic from the start and Shane slides right in in his ability to be what both men need. He compliments there natural dom/sub relationship by being the strength for both men. While he still submits to Keith most of the time, he is a dom by nature and has that strength both for Reed when he needs it, but he also gives Keith a place he can let down on the rare occasion he needs to let go.

The military/mercenary aspects of this story are a lesser plot line, but highlight the changes in these men as they get to know each other. They give opportunities for each of them to be alone with the others as Shane recovers from his injuries and illness. As his strength returns it was nice to see the insecurities appearing for Reed and Keith too as they all found a balance as a triad. While Shane's past was an issue I appreciated that it didn't take over the story, but instead allowed for both Shane and Reed to find some closure over their tortured pasts and gave both men an opportunity to move on with a few less nightmares.

While this book isn't a heavy BDSM novel at all the elements that are used here make sense and add to the dynamic these three men share. It's a very enjoyable story, definitely with it's hot erotic moments, but also with a nice sense of love and caring as these three find themselves together.

I of course love seeing Prophet and his brief appearance in this story, but then again the more hot competent military types in one place the better. ;) All in all an enjoyable read.

Sometimes you read a book that’s hard to define. One that makes you think, one that makes you cringe, one that makes you question, and one that makes you realize sometimes you find the right person or persons when you least expect to. Bound For Keeps is a remarkable story of three men brought together by chance but who stay together out of love.

Keith and Reed have been together for a number of years and recently lost their third partner to cancer. They are still recovering from the loss he’s left in their home and their hearts. On Christmas Eve a very sick and frozen man appears at their door. They bring him in and care for him and nurse him back to health. They realize as he’s convalescing that he’s former military and he’s suffered a great deal. He has the scars and nightmares to prove it.

There is so much I liked about this book. The characters despite being a lot alike are also very different and have endured so many horrific incidents in their lives. I’m sure that’s part of the reason they are all drawn to each other and why they understand each other so well. The fact that Keith and Reed are mercenaries doesn’t escape my attention or Shane’s. The fact that Keith especially doesn’t trust Shane completely rings true due to the nature of their lives and the fact that Shane is hiding something big. It did surprise me that they being a sexual relationship before they know his complete story. I also found it interesting that Keith and Reed seemed to flip flop on their opinion of Shane, something I should have expected but didn’t. For Keith it was a matter of respecting Shane for what he’d been through and that he came clean about everything. For Reed, it was jealousy pure and simple….something that I think is never covered enough in ménage stories because you can’t tell me it doesn’t happen. I applaud the author for bringing that very likely and very real emotion into this story.

I really can’t go into the plot too much because it will give away this story and its best read and digested as a whole. I can say that the plot is well thought out, the men’s stories are somewhat brutal but realistic, their relationship progresses at a decent pace but not overly rushed, and the way these men care for each other is just the icing on a very scrumptious cake.

I’ve read the other books in this series and I’ve enjoyed them but this book seems to have a lot more depth to it in all facets. Bound For Keeps is a story about loss, redemption, and learning to trust in yourself and in others. It’s emotional and it’s messy but it’s the best in the series to date and I’m really hoping we get to see more of the elusive Prophet soon.

This book has me conflicted, parts of it I absolutely loved, others were just a bit frantic and jumbled and never really properly explained themselves.

I loved how Reed and Keith took Shane in and gave him a home, I liked how he finally trusted them enough to come clean about his past but the whole undercover ops situation just really didn't work for me, probably because it involved Prophet, a guy I knew nothing about (I haven't read the Hell and High Water series yet).

This book also didn't have any connection to any of the men in the previous ones so it felt a bit disconnected and while reading it, I was a bit "okay but what's it got to do with the Men of Honor series" so I didn't feel as invested.

The epilogue was a huge disappointment as well, absolutely nothing happened really to give any sense of closure or of moving on for these three men.

Unless it was so mundane you were supposed to draw the conclusion they'd got over everything and were now a happy thruple!

The sex was hot, as I'd expect it to be, but it also felt like it was more integrally connected to the three men's relationships and military background than perhaps the previous books had and so that was a point on the plus side.

The cover also gets a big thumbs up, I think this is my favourite cover so far.

Wow, what can I say! It's SE Jakes, it's alpha dudes, it's 3somes, it's steaming, intense, hot m/m action. I swear, she has this down pat and I'm not sure how.

From someone who's been there, done that, she certainly has the dynamics pretty well right. The interaction between the three of them... letting the new partner in... the interplay between the two original partners... add to that the story line of the previous member of the triad and it's a home run!
Not to mention the whole backline story of Guthrie, the arms dealer responsible for Shane's partner, Kyle's murder, well... rockin' story line, seriously.

We're also introduced to Prophet in this episode in the series and we get to see some of the backline to Prophet and Tommy coming up...

SE Jakes just owns this genre of the alpha dude/special forces/military dude on dude intense story, so... don't miss this one!

SE Jakes has written a fabulous one here. I loved the menage factor...sexy sexy! The story of a man, Shane with a past and full of secrets who stumbles on an established partnership of two strong men, Keith and Reed, who are mourning the loss of their third partner. The thing that got me was the PTSD storyline. This was wonderfully written and accurate. Jakes manages to get you hooked on the plot quick and it doesn't disappoint. My favorite character was Keith, I just love a strong alpha male and dominant!!! This book was great!
