The Fallen #4

Child of Mercy

Rate this book
Paranormal Romance

Child of Mercy continues the saga of angels and demons in Book IV of The Fallen. Left to raise a child on her own, Mercy contends with normal pregnancy woes, and a slew of dangers as new enemies and old vie for a piece of the child. Her heavenly cousins don't seem all that pleased with her impending motherhood either, and Mercy needs all the help she can get to keep her baby safe. Luckily, she has friends and family around to help out (a little too much family if you ask Mercy), especially Parker who is more than happy to fill Adam's vacant shoes. The question remains - will Adam stay away? And more importantly, if he waits too long, will Mercy want him to?

Momma Mercy grows up...

This is probably the best book in the series since the first one. I admit, that at the end of book three, I was a little worried that Mercy and her merry men had jumped the shark, and the baby was going to make everyone's relationships even more weird. To my surprise, Lisa Olsen knocked this one out of the park. Mercy even *gasp* makes good relationship choices! I am proud of L.O. for abandoning the heroine as a doormat motif ala Stephanie Meyers and allowing Mercy to mature into the true angel she's always had the potential to be. The ending was so tight, I did not know if I should just put the book down and walk away knowing it could not get any better in this version of Seattle, or if I should hop back in and start the next book, and see where L.O. takes us next. Wonderful conclusion to a four book arc.

I think this was my favorite book of the series to this point...Mercy gets really tough in this one, she does most of her growing up, and as much as it hurts me for her she puts Adam in his place. Adam once again runs for the hills at the first signs of trouble, all in the name of protection, and leaves Mercy alone to care for a pregnancy and child that will be born with the Grace. I loved watching her develop into the Mom, and the strong woman I always knew she was deep down, and not just the bad ass but the inner strength to do what has to be done for the sake of her child.

Lisa Olsen wowed me again, Great Book! Must Read!

Awesome way to end this series. I can't believe Raziel did what he did, but it was still so amazing that he did that for Mercy and the baby. Dammit Sam!! You suck for doing that to Daphne! I like to think that they get back together later..after he wakes up. It was a little hard to see Adam come back at the end..but what did he expect to happen?! I love Mercy and Parker together. He really stepped up...it was just so sweet. And now Mercy talks for Gabriel?! oh wow... I'm definitely going to be reading this series again in the future.

Another great read by Lisa Olsen.

OMG this book took me on one heck of a ride! I just love Sam. Too bad Mercy isn't in love with him. I want to see a happy ending for him. The twists and turns in this book are amazing. Just when you think you've got it figured out, the plot changes. Sometimes I just want to be a character in this book. I would lead the other's in a different direction. LOL. But that would change this incredible story. You should get your copy, so you can ride this rollercoaster too. From a true Fan... Pam James.

Loved this story. So glad the relationships resolved the way they did...well, except for poor Raziel. Adam's still a tool, but he did the right things in the end. Parker is definitely the man, and Bunny...well, let's just say I'd love to read more about her in a continued novel in the Fallen series...hint hint. Otherwise, I'm sad the series is concluded.

The thing I hate the most is when I really get into a series that i am reading like this one here "Fallen"....and you get to the last book in the series and you dread finishing it cause you know there isnt any more after this one an you don't want it to end cause it is so freaking good... Wonderful job Lisa Olsen I loved every single book in this series and the characters were great thank you :)

OK, this book did pick up with a bit more variation than the previous book. However, I still did loads of skimming, having a pretty good idea of where this was going to go.

The end result is that I won't bother any more with this series. I don't feel I need to read on to the next novel to finish off the tale. Here was far enough.

This book kept the plot going from the previous books of course. There are some surprising turn outs with the Adam and Parker saga. This one is a lot of fun and worth continuing with the series. Now I am reading Book 5 in the series. I cannot stop reading. Big stuff going on with Little Evie. And more Adam/Parker dilemnas.

I am so glad I read these 4 books in this series. I just wish there was more. It left me wanting to see what would happen in the lives of the people in the book. I hope the author continues this series and it doesn't end.
