A collection of sordid tales centered around Princeling Fenyr, heir to the throne of the Autumn Court, as they prepare for their upcoming coronation. THE HEIR TO THE AUTUMN COURT takes place in a fae land caught in perpetual harvest season. Each high-heat story centers around a nonbinary princeling and a partner of their choosing, ranging from a minotaur, a stoic warrior from a neighboring land, and a former lover turned palace guard.
“It is not about the cold,” Vezan said, “but all the ways in which to get warm.”
this was delightfully enjoyable! it's so great to see more queer polyam rep, but especially when it's written so well with excellent worldbuilding and character development. i loved the different dynamics between our princeling and their lovers. the details of the settings and parties also helped bring a romantic, vibrant feel to it for me as well. and the high heat be heating 😌 i was seriously fanning myself at some of these lines.
overall a great read, esp for readers looking for more achillean & enby inclusive romance!
i received an arc from the author in exchange for an honest review!!
i took my time with this one because that's what you do when you have some delicious smut to get through. there's something so liberating in reading shameless queer sex, i actually went on a whole tangent during one of the chapters, that's how inspiring this was.
aside from providing a great amount of fucking, the book introduces an interesting approach in setting up the dynamics between the mc and their partners, which i found quite fun and from now on will consider this my fav fantasy romance set up! the thing i thought to be the most impressive, though, is how the author managed to write five characters with unique traits and bring them to life in such a short book. usually that's what i'm struggling with when the stories aren't that long, but by god, this was done exquisitely. i will definitely be revisiting this in the future
would recommend to every queer romantasy connoisseur, especially those who are up for some monsterfucking
Ok so I’m not gonna lie I read most of this on a plane which is probably not the best of ideas with this full of sMUT. If you want queer smut with multiple characters then this is definitely one to check out!!
Queer poly rep with a fantasy setting where we see scenes with the mc and multiple characters and how they interact different was real cute. At times I did not really understand what was happening but again was on a plane so definitely need to read the smut scenes again in bed alone 👀👀🫡
i recieved an e-arc for this book in exchange for an honest review.
this book is perfect for the girlies and non-girlies who read smut to cope with their issues. but what fascinated me the most was how the author still managed to give their characters development throughout the book, make them all complex, add a plot and the perfect amount of smut.
at first i was a little confused because i thought it would be a romance told in short stories about one pairing. as i figured out it was a healthy polyamorous relationship i was very happy, as i had yet to see a good representation of that trope! i loved reading about fenry's journey.
i would literally die for envhir. he's just so babyboy! like an oversized, grumpy, koala bear! i loved to see fenry's many facades and each character learning to trust each other! i loved how at some points you think fenyr might be a "bad"/ "morally gray" character, but in the end you learn that he simply never had anyone to show him love and admiration foe the person they are and not only their title!
so if you love spicy, queer romance books and faes i'd definetly recommend this one!
i received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review!
may i just say WOW. there was just something about this book - it felt like every time i thought it couldn’t get better or that i was nearing the end, there’d be more. i would tell myself, “just a few more pages…” and that would turn into 20 and i’d be up until late reading hot high-fantasy romance(s).
i really loved the characters, getting to see the way that the relationships came together. the character development and world-building is rich and sprinkled so well throughout the heat. i will admit, there were definitely points where i felt like i was missing something, or parts that didn’t click as quickly with me, but i think that more comes down to my reading style and tendency to miss the details.
i don’t want to spoil too much. overall, i really enjoyed this read and would recommend to anyone looking for some hot queer high-fantasy romance. well worth the look on its release day!
this was unexpectedly wholesome while still being very smutty — i didn’t expect to care so much about all five of the main characters, but i do, and i’d honestly die for olyen. i really loved all their different dynamics, both with fenyr but also between each other. and god i loved all the sex scenes. it just felt very queer, the way it played with dynamics and stereotypes and my expectations of what these characters would get up to in the bedroom, because said expectations were both fulfilled while i was still being surprised.
as a nonbinary person myself, it was just so awesome to read about a nonbinary princeling getting fucked so gently and lovingly (and also not so gently lmao) by all his partners and then entering this soft and loving polyam relationship with all of them — i just loved it. i need more erotica with a nonbinary main character.
overall a very enjoyable read, especially if you love some diverse monsterfucking, polyam relationships, and queer smut.
A book chock full of hot queer smut and I loved it to so much. I had the privilege of also beta reading this so I had the perfect excuse to read this twice and I will probably reread this often because this is a masterclass in writing cozy, hot shorts that all fit into a larger narrative. I love all of the characters (The Minotaur, Vezan, being a fave) and how well they complement each other. While the characters are the central focus, I still get a good view of the surrounding world and little details, and I would love to see more of it with the same characters or new ones.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to beta read HEIR TO THE AUTUMN COURT and I have never encountered a book that was catered more specifically to my tastes and everything that I have been looking for in romantic/erotic fantasy than this book right here.
To all the achillean polyam nbys and tboys… this one is for US!
Also, needless to say, Elle Porter writes a damn good erotic fantasy.
I was lucky enough to beta read this and YOU NEED IT!!! Polyam fantasy enjoyers rejoice because finally, we have some good fucking food. Elle Porter never disappoints!!

This novella of short stories was a true joy. Each story is a high heat encounter with soon-to-be Prince Fenyr, a nonbinary fae on the lookout for honest advisors for their future reign.
The cast of characters was beautifully diverse in body types, magical species, and gender.
Set in a queernormative world, this little book packs in a ton of queer and gender goodness and spice, with feeling of found family in a cozy fantasy setting.
