3 smut-scale stars!
Kyra and Brandon might start off on the wrong footing but they sure do burn up the sheets (or desk I should say) once they realize what they could be together.
This was a lot of instalove with some kinky smut. I loved Brandon and thought Kyra was kind of annoying at first. Overall, for what it was, this was quick and cute.

Full of hot Insta love. Kyra and her aunt have been managing their successful business for a while but her aunt is tired. Selling is the only option but Kyra wants to do a little sabotage after finding out who the company is. Brandon wants She's the sum bit after seeing Kyra he wants her more. A good read with some very likeable characters. Well apart from the older brother.

November 6, 2023Gave up this one for now. Couldn’t get into it. The heroine was too obnoxious and the hero was too soy boy beta. If you like castrated, beta guppy hero’s, then this one is for you but I found it cringe.

Kyra is the CEO of She’s The Sun a cosmetic company. Her Aunt Linda started the company after her husband died. Linda wanted to help out a teenaged Kyra with her acne. The company has grown and Linda has decided to sell the company. Kyra is a little miffed. The Hammerhead Group is coming to the office to check it out and to purchase it. Everyone is in the conference room waiting for Kyra when she comes in with boxes of the products. Brandon is the CEO of Hammerhead Group and he is excited to buy She’s The Sun. When Kyra comes in the conference room he is amazed by Kyra’s beauty. He knows immediately that she is the one for him. Kyra put glue in the lotion and cinnamon in the blush, thinking that would sabotage the takeover. She is making it hostile. Kyra has never thought of herself as beautiful because of her acne scars. She’s The Sun is a product that helps women with scars and not smooth skin. All of the ads from She’s The Sun are normal women with imperfections. Brandon became CEO after his father died. His grandparents started the company in their garage on Hammerhead Lane. His father died suddenly and had not appointed a successor so it was put to a vote with cousins and brothers and sisters, he is the youngest and was nominated for the position. Kyra admitted to sabotaging the product but Brandon still agreed to but it. Brandon and Kyra have hot chemistry and they start to get frisky in her office but everyone is celebrating the sell of She’s The Sun. Kyra made 23 million dollars off of the sell but she still wants to work. When Kyra gets a package of lingerie Brandon sends everyone home. Brandon wants to see Kyra in the lingerie in his office. Kyra is a virgin and she has told Brandon. That just makes him want her more. She will always be his. They end up having sex in his office and it is fantastic. Will Kyra ever believe that she is beautiful? Will Brandon promote her in his company? Will Kyra continue to help women look and feel beautiful? Will Brandon and Kyra find love and happiness through a hostile takeover?

Kyra is the CEO of a cosmetics company founded by her beloved aunt. When she was a teen her acne was so bad and she was allergic to the brands on the market her aunt made her makeup that would be good for her skin, that lead to a multimillion dollar company. When her aunt decides to sell the company to a corporation that buys up smaller cosmetic brands she’s against it. Brandon is the head of Hamnerhead at 28 he’s the youngest family member but the most logical choice to head up the company his grandparents founded in their garage.
It’s love at first sight for him when he sees Kyra. He immediately knows she his one and he will stop at nothing to claim her. Kyra in a desperate bid to save the company sabotages a few of the products her aunt catches on and the two talk. Brandon joins them and Kyra confesses and apologizes.
Kyra is attracted to Brandon and soon they can’t resist each other, they share a kiss and then the next time they are alone he asks her to kneel and give him oral. That was a little off putting, I know it was supposed to be sexy but seemed a little predatory instead. Soon after they have sex in the office, she’s a virgin, he has been busy with the company since he was 23 but does not mention if he had sex before he took over the company. I can’t imagine a rich good looking guy like him wasn’t having sex in college.
Two weeks later he gives her a promotion to be the new director over the beauty division of the company. Epilogue one year later with her loving her job and them continuing to enjoy sexy times in the office and ten years later with the married with three kids still enjoying sexy times in the office.

Kyra ended up living with her aunt as a teenager after losing the rest of her family. As a teen, Kyra had horrible acne but she was allergic to the usual products. Her aunt went all out to learn about cosmetics so she make something that would work for Kyra. She was so successful that the two started their own successful business called She's the Sun. Their company prides itself in uplifting all types of women and showing regular women. It has become super successful but Kyra's aunt is tired and ready to move on. She has arranged to sell the business to highest bidder, Brandon Raven who owns 18 other cosmetics and beauty companies. Kyra hates the idea of selling out and tries to break up the deal. However the deal goes through and Brandon keeps her on as CEO. She thought that she would despise Brandon but she never expected to be so attracted to him.
Brandon ended up taking over and expanding his family's businesses. This was just supposed to be another business deal for him. They were buying out the business She's the Sun which was super successful even though he doesn't understand the draw. Then he meets Kyra and is immediately attracted to her. He agrees to keep her on as CEO but he has naughty plans for her.

Okay once you start you won’t start until the last page has been turned Kyra CEO of the cosmetics company She’s The Sun that she built with her aunt Linda who is ready to retire so selling the company seems to be the only choice no matter how hard she fights the sale the writing is on the wall since she is the main shareholder and so selling is their only choice although she hates it. Brandon sexy as all get out billionaire youngest of the family who runs the Hammerhead Corporation that is buying their company but at the meeting when they try the products, they had been sabotaged by the presenter herself but that didn’t stop him from buying her company. The moment he saw her she was the most beautiful women he had ever seen although she would beg to differ because her aunt started the company because of her acne issues she went through as a teenager despite the sale these two couldn’t deny the magnetic pull between the two of them the more she denied it the stronger the pull but does she lose the company completely or does he keep her on, will she be honest about her feelings, will he convince her that his feelings are real, can they continue to work together, and can they find balance in working together along with happiness?

Just okay. This story was a lot more shallow than OTT's usual ones.
There just wasn't any connection between them. He just really like her for what her body could do for him or what she could do for him sexually. Even after 9 out of 11 chapters there's no romance just him ordering her to give him head and then parade her around the office in skimpy lingerie.
At first Brandon seemed like a levelheaded and decent businessman. He was respectful and attentive at the meeting, understanding the precarity of the situation as a sale of any company is stressful to any of its employees. He was on the same page with all of their values and really appreciated what all the staff was doing for their company. Sounds like a good guy right?
Then right after they announce the sale of the company he corners Kyra in her office and orders her to get on her knees, take out his dick and suck him.
I mean demanding that she give him head the FIRST DAY THEY MEET and for her first sexual experience was SHADY AS HELL and made him seem like such a fuckboy. ICK.
It was going so well 😩 and then OTT enacted that age old power dynamic and it just got sleazy FAST.
I usually like OTT's books and I thought it would be relatively similar to her other works but this hero turned into a major sleezeball the minute things get sexual between them.

My body follows. It reacts on its own accord. It obeys every word from this powerful man.
I drop to my knees with my body on fire. My unblinking eyes are locked on his crotch.

No "Hi, how are you" just straight to the "give me head and service me" AND THEN HE DOESN'T RECIPROCATE👎🏽
It just went downhill from there bc Kyra was such a entertaining heroine to read. She was confident, intelligent, and then she does a full 180 and turns into a submissive fumbling girl?? The minute Brandon starts showing her attention and interest she just starts doing whatever he says because now she's just a horny little virgin.
|“He’s a shark, Aunt Linda,” I say rolling my eyes. “He’s using his good looks to get my guard down so he can take advantage and lower the price of the sale. He’s trying to honeydick me.”
“Honeydick?” Aunt Linda says with an expression that makes me laugh. “What the heck is that?”

I finished Hostile Takeover by Olivia T. Turner and I have to say this is her best. The writing is not as bad as in her other novellas. So why 3 stars then? ⭐⭐⭐This is not a story that will stay with me a long time. It was nice to spend time with the characters this morning but I doubt I will think much about them. I just needed something short and light and Hostile Takeover delivered that.

A spicy romantic story about a CEO of a women’s cosmetic company and the head of the group that bought the women’s cosmetic company that she’s the CEO of. It was love at first sight for them both even though she was attracted to him when she saw a photo of him on his group’s site.
The CEO’s aunt is the owner of the company, she started it in her kitchen to help her niece, the CEO with her acne problem but before long it turned into the company it is now. Her aunt is tired and wants to travel so she decided to sell the company, she decided to sell the company to the group the man is the head of. The CEO isn’t happy about what her aunt is doing so the day that all of the major people from the group come she sabotages the products they were to show to them. The selling of the company still goes through. But when the CEO and the head of the group meet something happens, they’re drawn to one another.
The CEO takes the head of the group to show him around the company, when they get to her office he walks in looking at the photos on the wall and goes over to her desk, she finds out that her friend ordered her lingerie, they kiss and she gives him oral sex before they make a date the next day to show him the factory.
They go to the factory and the manager shows them around but he gets a call to the head of the group has the CEO shows him the rest of the factory. The whole time they walk through the factory he thinks that she’s his. They find a quiet spot in the factory where they talk, kiss, he finds out she’s a virgin and he plays with her.
The lingerie order came in and the head of the group, the new owner of the company. He let the employees leave for the rest of the day. He wanted everyone gone so that he could be alone with the CEO. He commands the CEO to put on her lingerie and come to his office with only the lingerie on but when she comes she has her clothes on over the lingerie. The clothes start coming off, she gets up on the edge of the desk and he gives her oral sex then they have sex sometime after she takes her off the desk and bends over the desk to finish having sex with her.
She has a meeting in front of the group and during the meeting the group is ordered to leave. She thinks that she’s going to be fired. She finds out that they want to put her as the head of all the cosmetic companies in their portfolio and she takes the offer. They also tell his family which are part of the group that they're together and he tells them that he will marry her one day.
A year later she’s going to a meeting with the CEO of the perfume company that’s part of the group’s portfolio. While walking to the meeting she’s stopped by one of the women who works there and they talk for a moment before walking to the office of the CEO. She gets to the door but doesn’t notice the CEO there but her boss there. She goes to him who’s in the chair behind the desk, she gets up on the desk. She goes from the desk to the floor on her knees, undoing everything to take down his pants and she gives him oral sex.
Ten years later he’s waiting for her in his office to take her out to celebrate their ten year anniversary but she’s late. They have three kids and her aunt is watching them so they can celebrate. He made reservations at a restaurant to celebrate. He texts her, finding out she’s there, at the door in a trench coat. She shuts the door and locks it before going over to her husband. Taking off the coat and tosses it to a chair, she goes over to him and he bends over the desk. The talk for a bit, he pushes her to the lingerie to the side before they have sex.
An marvelously written story with amazing characters which was a good page turner. With a spicy romantic happily ever after ending.

Hostile Takeover was about Kyra Black, the CEO of She’s The Sun makeup company, and 29-year-old Brandon Raven, the CEO of The Hammerhead Group.
Arriving at work one day, Kyra learned from her Aunt Linda, the owner of the company, that she had sold the company to Brandon's conglomerate without telling her first. Uncertain as to whether or not she would still have a job as the CEO of the company she and her aunt started from scratch, Kyra was heartbroken and angry. Upon first seeing Kyra in the boardroom of his newly acquired cosmetic company, Brandon fell head over heels for her and was determined to make her his, even if she was trying to sabotage the deal.
This was a quirky story that had quite a few humorous scenes. It was more rom-com than anything else, even with the small bit of angst and drama that was thrown in. There wasn't much to this story other than the fact that Brandon wanted Kyra, and he set out to have her, regardless of whether or not it was what she wanted in return. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more push/pull between the main characters, and that Kyra caved to Brandon so fast. The author missed out on a huge opportunity to capitalize on the reason Kyra should have given Brandon a harder time than she did. Even the title of the story was wrong because there was nothing hostile about this takeover.
While it was a fun story, it lacked grit and content. It needed more spice as well, and it needed more conflict. It was just flat from beginning to end. I only gave this story a two-and-a-half star rating, rounded up to three stars.

Her aunt decides to sell the business to Brandon, but it really bugged me that aunt told Kyra too late that she's selling the business.
And I understand that in the end Kyra becomes the head of the beauty division of 18 companies owned by Brandon.
But if it weren't for Brandon being a fun-loving guy, she would be out of job, and yes, I know she would have 23 million dollars but a company that she so lovingly started with her aunt....shouldn't the aunt have demanded from Brandon that Kya should still be the head? Idk man I just feel like her aunt was a lil selfish.

OTT is one my favorite must-read authors. Her over the top possessive alphas are always the perfect reading break I’m looking for🔥🔥🔥
While this one wasn’t terrible, I really did not enjoy it very much. The characters felt flat to me and lacked any type of personality or connection.
I really disliked the storyline too. The company gets sold by a close family member (an aunt) without the CEO (niece) knowing or having any say in the matter? It seemed like a crap way to treat family and the CEO (niece) responds equally horrible to her aunt and tries to sabotage the deal. She adds school glue to the beauty products. I mean how old is this person? That’s just extremely immature and unprofessional for a CEO?!?
Then we have the head of the corporate conglomerate that is buying them out. He immediately comes on to the CEO of the company he is about to takeover? There really wasn’t even a conversation first. I would definitely think this guy was a skeevy sleaze ball IRL….
This author specializes in far fetched stories, mostly being borderline ridiculous but this one was a total miss for me. Far fetched stories are ok as long as the characters are endearing but this story was a definite no for me.

i think this is an okay read. there's nothing hostile with the takeover in here. the 80% of the story happened over 3 days. and it was so-so imo. insta-lust at the first meeting, then he made her give him a head that first day. for some reason this didn't sit well with me, i liked my mmcs to be the giver not the taker for their first time, but it is what it is.
kyra also comes off as immature at the beginning when she found out about the takeover but at least she made peace with it. then the rest of the book she becomes this puddle of goo around brandon. i feel like she's just horny all the time 😂
anyway, this was fun. it had me laughing at some scenes and at the absurdity of the plot, but this is a novella after all so it all makes sense.

This was so good! I loved Brandon. He definitely surprised Kyra. She was expecting the typical business shark. Just circling her and her aunt's company waiting to come in for the kill. But he was refreshingly different, especially when it comes to beauty standards. It was awesome to read a MMC that thinks scars are beautiful. That they tell a beautiful story of living and surviving. Brandon was also the typical OTT alpha. But I don't mean typical in a bad way. We know Olivia T Turner's initials are perfect for her books. Her MMC are always OTT and that's why I and so many others love them. He was totally possessive and protective of Kyra. I loved the dominant side of him. No one was going to stand in his way while he makes her his. He was hot, hot, hot. The ending was definitely the perfect HEA too. 😍🔥

Sexy office romance. Brandon and Kyra experience a deep connection when they meet that they can't keep their hands to themselves from the moment they meet. Kyra wants to hate Brandon from the beginning since his company is the one buying her company, but the sparks between them have her doubting her feelings for Brandon. The man is very much infatuated with Kyra the second he sees her. Soon, they can't stop thinking about each other and have some sexy times at her company.
The story is fun and steamy with some great characters. I loved Brandon and how sure he was about Kyra and what he wanted in life. You fall in love with the characters fast. If you love ott men and some very steamy scenes at the office, you will definitely love this novella.

Hostile Takeover is a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, office romance. Kyra is the CEO of the cosmetics company, She's the Sun, that she built with her Aunt Linda. Brandon is the hunky billionaire who runs the Hammerhead Corporation that is buying their company. Kyra is devastated, but her aunt is ready to retire. Kyra is hoping to stop the sale. When Brandon first sees Kyra, he knows she is his soulmate. Kyra is also drawn to him, and things get super-steamy, super fast. The chemistry is insane between these two. There is very little drama, just a hot romance and an amazing HEA in this OTT read. I love anything that Olivia writes.
On a side note, she needs to publish a book of just her dedication pages. I think hers are my favorite!! Always hysterical and pearl clutching for some (not me) 🤣🤣🤣.

Best Olivia T I’ve ever read
That doesn’t mean it was on par with other authors I REALLY REALLY like, but it was good. It is also, hands down the most appealing cover art I’ve seen in a while. Now, why is it the best of Olivia T’s work I’ve read, it went somewhere. Most O.T.T. stories fall flat because while I like over the top dominant men as much as anybody. Her characters tend to all be the same. They all tend to be the same kind of secluded alpha bear of a man that goes into hiding, Brandon isn’t that guy. He grew his grandparent’s company beyond what his father had done, and saw beauty beyond the airbrushing current society demands. As for Kyra, she’s smart and tenacious, what’s not to like.

This was a cute book. I read it as a palate cleanser between more intense books. It was a quick read and very quirky/funny. Kyra was a strong character and smart. She built her business with her aunt. Her aunt owns the majority stake and is ready to take time off to enjoy life so she sells the business to an investor company run by Brandon. Kyra tries to cancel the sale by sabotaging the meeting. It is love at first sight for Brandon. The book moves quickly. In perfect Olivia tempo it is over the top and very fast. They fall in love and get married quickly. No drama and just sugary sweet. Definitely recommend as a fun and quick read to clear your mind. And the aunt really adds in the comic relief to make you laugh.
