Loved the continuation of this third book by Cassie. Interesting and addictive. Couldn’t put it down until I finished it and then I wished the author had made the book longer

I read this on KU but I also purchased a signed paperback from the author. I wasn't sure I could love a book as much as I loved Wuhan, and I was mistaken. This is this author's best work yet!
This book follows college student Randall, the future patriarch of the Persch family, as he embarks on a mission to win the heart of the woman of his dreams: Liling Zhu. The only problem is Liling has no need or want for anyone, especially a pizza delivery boy who can't even write his own papers. For Liling, love is a distraction that she doesn't have time for. Undeterred, Randall is determined to shape himself into the man Liling wants him to be, no matter the cost.
As Randall slowly works his way into Liling's life and heart, he is also slowly working his way into a very dangerous group. The Padilla cartel can give Randall everything he's ever wanted: money, power, and Liling.
This book is outstanding! The storyline is fast paced but the romance is a slow burn. Randall is charming and funny, and he can talk himself into or out of any situation. There is quite a bit of action and excitement. I might be in love with Luis Padilla. I love how this author writes complex characters who are so believable. Having already read the first two books, Eve and Wuhan, I loved seeing where they get their personalities from, and how each of them have a mix of Randall and Liling in their personalities.
If you loved Eve and Wuhan, you are absolutely going to love Randall!

This was so good. I wasn’t sure how much I would like a prequel when I loved Eve and Wuhan so much but this is on the same level. I loved how it started off being a sweet romance and slowly it became much darker as the mafia stuff started to come in. It was cool to see how Randall and Liling became the characters they are in the first two books. Liling in particular was such a fascinating character to read about. I am excited to get to the last book in this series now!
