Hire A Cuddler (How To Win At Love) (August 12, 2024)
by Hope Ford (Author)
King is a determined billionaire… posing as a professional cuddler to get close to me.

He’s the type of man who always gets what he wants, and right now, he wants me—the socially awkward, plus-size model with intimacy issues.

I've never had anyone hold me, hug me – or even love me – and my therapist thinks a professional cuddler will help break down the walls I've built to protect my heart.

I’m skeptical at best…

But King is so good at holding me together that the line between professional and personal quickly blurs, igniting a passion I’m not prepared for.

King and I might be fifteen years apart, but our connection is undeniable.

When his true identity is revealed, I feel betrayed.

Until he proposes an irresistible deal: a fake marriage. He gets what he desires, and I get what I need.

I reluctantly agree… with boundaries of course.

Now, I just have to keep reminding myself that this isn’t real.

I didn't know that hiring a Cuddler was a thing.
Our heroine is a plus size model very confident in her size, but has deep set intimacy issues hence she has remained a virgin at the ripe old age of 25.She has seen various therapists to resolve her issues, but nothing until one suggests she hire a cuddler.Again, who knew ( not me) that there is actually someone who you can hire to cuddle you to get over your fears of intimate contact.
Enter the hero who takes one look at her and wants her.A millionaire in disguise as a cuddler.
This was insta on the hero's part, not love yet though,he is just all possessive about the heroine. She in turn starts to trust in him and allows physical contact with him that is until she finds out he lied to her and is not a cuddler, but a millionaire dammit!
Age gap..15 years
Plus size FMC who is a virgin ,has intimacy issues and cannot say " I love you " to a loved one.
Millionaire hero who was a foster kid with foster siblings
Hero was kind and supportive of heroine till 3rd act breakup where he turns into a dickhead!
Fake marriage
Found Family
The epilogue was sweet where they remarry and heroine is pregnant.
For me, this was a change of pace as I have been obsessed with mafia romances and I wanted something light to read.

Read on 5 August.

1.5 stars from me literally.

So yeah there might be spoilers so be aware.

Tropes:
•Billionaire MMC x Model FMC
•Insta-love
•Scared of intimacy
•Fake marriage
•Small town romance
•15 years age gap
•Hidden identity (kind of)
•Found family (i can say so)
•Virgin FMC (like bro ofc)

...................

The FMC is a plus-sized model with intimacy issues, undergoing therapy for years. Her therapist recommends cuddle therapy, leading her to a man who makes her feel things she hasn't before. This man is the MMC, a billionaire hiding his identity. Obsessed with her since their first meeting, he proposes a fake marriage to get what he wants: her ,while she gets the therapeutic touch she craves when his identity is revealed.

However, the plot's potential is undermined by poor character development. The FMC's swift acquiescence to the MMC's demands is frustrating and unrealistic. The MMC is equally disappointing, quickly believing some photos over her word and hurling awful accusations. His lack of communication and insufficient groveling when he realizes his mistake makes it hard to root for him. And he didn't even do anything to that woman who was the reason for their breakup, he only fired her and nothing else.

The FMC's immediate acceptance of his apology and resuming their intimate relationship is baffling. A stronger, more independent reaction would have made her character more relatable and believable. Overall, the book fails to deliver a satisfying romance or compelling character arcs.

This story could have been much more enjoyable with better communication between characters and more realistic emotional responses. As it stands, it is a disappointing read.

Small spoiler below

Note: There is a third act breakup here. (lol I know I might have spoiled that in the description too)

Well this book was definitely not for me ig as others liked it.

Thank you for the arc tho. I am grateful for this. I got the arc from booksprout website for a honest review. And all these were my honest thoughts.

Doormat. Major problem on the third act, she has no spine. And she is a model? Where people touch you to get you ready? The plot has so many holes for my liking.

I generally enjoy Hope Ford’s books. I know with them I’m getting OTT, insta-love, HEA ooey goodness. And that’s true of this book as well. But the MMC King, he was a disappointment.

Haven was almost too much at the beginning of the book. Thankfully, she grew/matured as the story went on and I was mostly rooting for her by the end. She did backslide a little, but that was more because of King than her character development.

King is supposed to be this 40 year old, rich, handsome Alpha. Instead, he’s a cleverly disguised a-hole. Don’t get me wrong, when he and Haven first met, while not the best circumstance, he was patient and made an effort and was a decent man. Then it’s like a switch was flipped. For all his, “I’m patient, we’ll go at your pace, this is about you” bs, he was manipulative, controlling, pushing his wants and needs on Haven, and don’t even get me started on the 3rd act breakup. Haven took him back way too easily (hence backslide) and he definitely did not earn it.

And the thing with Becca? No real rhyme or reason to that angst. She/her storyline didn’t really add anything to the book, especially because there was no background information as to why she did what she did.

Overall, the book was well written. You know what you’re getting when you read Hope Ford. I just think Haven deserved better.

This misses the mark because he's the worst stalker.
• He picks a random girl he sees, not someone he knows in any capacity.
• He takes over as/pretends to be her therapist? This is almost creepier than books where he is her therapist.
• He immediately starts betraying how much research he's done on her. Like give a girl a bit before you confess to knowing what she did this morning, yk?
• She has a panic attack in their first session, so he makes the next one a straight up date?
• He's listing all the things he knows about her, which includes that she drinks water like all the other life forms on this planet?
• And then he has the audacity to act like she was the one with the ulterior motive in this relationship? Dude.

Nonetheless, in a world of billionaires, it's almost quaint that he's a millionaire. Not even a multimillionaire, necessarily. "His world" of people with a decent retirement fund at 40, I guess. Good for him tho

Also, just FYI but if my husband ever said "I mean, don’t get me wrong, your pussy is good… But I’ve had better," to me, I would probably feed him his own dick and definitely never, ever, ever forgive him

Come for the cuddling, stay for the romance
4 Stars

I’ve always enjoyed Hope Ford’s quick, fun, insta romances and one about hiring a cuddler? I was absolutely in. This one is a bit longer than many of Hope Ford’s books coming in with a page count of 304 pages. This is the first book in a new series - How to Win at Love - but does seem to reference other books and series also set in the towns of Whiskey Run and Jasper. It stands completely alone with a HEA.

The premise of the book - hiring a cuddler - is 100% what drew me to this story and it’s how we start our tale. The heroine of our story, Haven, has a pathological fear of being touched in any way so, as a last resort, she has come to cuddling therapy. (I’ve just looked it up and it’s actually a real thing.) That’s when King sees Haven and decides he needs to get to know her - by pretending to be her cuddling therapist.

It’s always great to see mental health rep in a romance but where it tends to fall down is that these things are not clean, neat nor ever actually fixed in a person. I’m not saying that the subject wasn’t treated sensitively by our author, but after the first quarter of our book, the problem that Haven has been dealing with her whole life, is barely mentioned and somehow not as debilitating. So while I wouldn’t want Haven to spend the whole book, and end the book, unable to touch anyone, it does a bit of a disservice to those that the book was attempting to represent.

The cuddling therapy is the meet cute and a way to introduce King and Haven. After that, it doesn’t feature as part of the story. That’s more about a fake marriage - that I didn’t really understand the reasons for - and King coming to the realisation that he is capable of love - just as he makes a mistake that could jeopardise his life with Haven. Again, I suppose, since he already did that with his cuddling stunt!

Both Haven and King were likeable characters and had great chemistry. Both have traumatic pasts but other than how it affects how they deal with each other and their feelings for each other - this isn’t really delved into in any great detail. With it being a longer book for this author, I would have liked more detail into their past and especially King coming to the realisation of his feelings. There were definitely some parts that felt superfluous to the story that I would have cut out.

But this is a Hope Ford story so you know you’re going to get a hero that’s all in with his heroine - bordering on obsessive but in a good way. There’s going to be a great connection between our couple and some very hot sex to go along with it. Despite my moans, I did enjoy this book and was always keen to pick it up and start reading again after I’d had to put it down. The storyline moved quickly, the writing was good and at the end I was happy. It might not be much about the cuddling but I came for the cuddling and stayed for the romance. 4 stars.

Hire a Cuddler is part of How to Win at Love. It's a steamy, OTT, instalove, age-gap, fake marriage, curvy girl gets her billionaire romance. Haven is a 25 year old curvy virgin who is a plus-size model with a fear of touch, connection, and intimacy. King is a 40 year old hunky, possessive, alpha billionaire businessman who works in construction. When Haven's therapist recommends she hire a cuddler as a last-ditch effort to help, Haven reluctantly agrees. King sees her walking into her appointment and is instantly attracted to her. He confronts the "cuddler" she met with and pays him to take over as her cuddler. Haven feels an instant connection to him when she meets him. What happens when she finds out he's not really a cuddler? They both were raised without the love of parents and have serious trust and relationship issues. But King knows he doesn't want to be without her. He proposes a fake marriage contract to start, but the feelings are very real. Haven agrees, but is also worried about him getting tired of her. King was so patient with her. Their chemistry was so hot even though they waited a while to be intimate. I wanted to slap King so hard when the incident occurred. I was so mad at him. Luckily, they resolve the issue with a lot of groveling and talking. This really was such a sweet story. Every girl needs a King in her life. He was so hot and completely swoon-worthy. I loved it!!! I hope we get books for all the Beckett siblings.

This was a great little read around a topic I haven’t really read in a book yet, fear of intimacy and a professional therapeutic cuddler.

Haven is 25 with a crippling fear of intimacy. She’s never hugged another person, never said I love you. She wants to overcome she wants to fall in love and marry and have a family so her therapist suggests a professional cuddler.

Ridge “King” sees Haven coming in for her first session and is immediately taken by her beauty yet air of vulnerability. So what’s the logical move for an older, attractive, millionaire? Pretend to be her cuddler to get close of course!

Broken trusts have to be mended to move on. But can she forgive him?

Loved this cuddler story

Haven needs therapy she can’t stand anyone touching her so she’s sent to cuddle therapy. But once King sees her he talks the therapist into letting him do her lessons. Haven is not happy when she finds out but King talks her into marrying him. Can they learn to trust each other and fall in love. Loved this love story. It’s sweet and steamy, has tears and laughter and is just a rollercoaster of feels from beginning to end.

This was such a bigger story than I expected it to be. I enjoyed it. It was funny and heartfelt, while it also touched on a few heavy things too. Haven and King had instant chemistry and went so well together, even when they didn’t want to admit that to anyone or even one another. There were a few little twists I was not expecting, but I think they really added to the story and where it was going.

just ok…

The story was okay. Nothing great nothing horrible until… when there is a misunderstanding the H tells the h something pretty terrible and it feels like she made up with him pretty quickly. He basically said that the only thing she provides is pu$$y and that even that he’s had better from other women. Ummm excuse me sir are you kidding me?!? Sure he apologized many times but not for specifically that so it never felt like that was resolved for me.

This was a good story. I never knew about a cuddler until I read this book and looked it up, and it is actually a thing. You can legally hire a cuddler for various reasons. Color me intrigued, lol. King is a millionaire and very popular, and Haven is a plus- sized model who has never been touched, not even a hug and has problems with touch. So she hires a cuddler who somehow turns out to be King??? They end up together until she finds out who King really is. There is a brief 3rd act break up, and she gave in way too easily. I wouldn't have forgiven so badly. He said some horrible things to her, but alas, this is fiction, so we forgive and move onto the HEA, Lol. 3 stars

Oof. I'm on the fence with this one. It was a quick read, I got through it in an evening, but I am not sure that I really enjoyed it. There were definitely things to like about it, but there were a few things that didn't sit well with me, and they kind of overshadowed the rest for me. I don't want to go into detail, because I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say that she should have made him work harder - he owed her a lot more groveling than she got.

Thanks to the author and to The Author Agency for my #gifted ARC. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

"Hire a Cuddler" by Hope Ford is a contemporary romance that explores themes of vulnerability, self-discovery, and unexpected love. The story revolves around King, a billionaire who poses as a professional cuddler to get close to the socially awkward, plus-size model, who is struggling with intimacy issues.

King a powerful man disguising himself to fulfill a personal mission, which in this case, is to get closer to Haven. Haven's therapist suggests hiring a professional cuddler to help her break down emotional barriers, setting the stage for an unconventional romance.

Hope Ford excels in portraying the complexities of the characters, especially Haven, who has never experienced genuine affection. Her journey from skepticism to acceptance is both touching and realistic. King, on the other hand, is depicted as a determined yet caring individual who finds himself deeply connected to Haven despite their age difference.

The dynamic between the two characters is electric, with their professional relationship quickly giving way to personal feelings. The chemistry between them is palpable, and Hope Ford captures the intensity of their emotions beautifully. The reveal of King’s true identity introduces a sense of betrayal, adding a layer of tension to the story. However, the proposition of a fake marriage brings an interesting twist, blending elements of a classic romance trope with modern sensibilities.

Hope Ford's writing is engaging, with a good balance of humor, emotional depth, and steamy moments. The development of Haven’s character is particularly noteworthy, as she navigates her insecurities and learns to open her heart to love. King’s patience and determination make him a compelling hero, and their relationship evolves in a way that feels both natural and satisfying.

Overall, "Hire a Cuddler" is a heartwarming and passionate romance that delves into themes of trust, healing, and the transformative power of love. Hope Ford’s ability to create relatable characters and an emotionally charged storyline makes this novel a compelling read for fans of contemporary romance. If you enjoy stories with strong character development, intense emotional dynamics, and a touch of drama, "Hire a Cuddler" is definitely worth picking up.

Hope Ford captured me with the delicious premise of this one- a plus size model with intimacy issues seeks out a…CUDDLE COACH?! To help her with her intimacy challenges. Add in age gap, smalltown vibes, and a couple cover with true representation, and I was excited to give into a story with such a unique premise.

Powerful billionaire King is hella fixated on the alluring Haven and is instantly smitten, or more so OBSESSED…so how better to get close to her than to pose as her therapist recommended professional cuddler to help her with her intimacy fears and her deep seated emotional barriers and vulnerabilities. It’s a fun and fast-paced premise (they both fall hard and fast, despite King’s deception)- and their chemistry is really sweet. The spice is definitely great, but I also appreciated some attention to the mental health challenges.

I loved Haven, and I deeply related to some of her struggles. She’s someone who has walled herself off, hasn’t quite found the true care she deserves. She craves genuine affection, and I loved watching her find comfort with King. A man who also has his own baggage and abandonment issues galore. He is INTENSE to say the least- decisive and persistent for sure. While his instant need for her makes him go above and beyond, it’s the gentle but determined way he supports Haven’s intimacy growth that I loved the most.

Of course, there are some bumps along the way- courtesy of some needed communication and our hero making some missteps in the end and man has to do some much needed groveling. I wish there had been a bit more groveling (both at the first deception and at the end) and that Haven’s issues had carried through the big a bit more. And again, this is super instalove, so be aware if that’s something you don’t usually read. (I love a good instalove as a soft, easy read). The ending was cute once it’s resolved, and overall, this was a light, fast-paced, and scrumptious insta-love story full of lots of heart and heat.

Now where is my super rich cuddler?!

Haven Weston is a 25 year old plus size model with physical intimacy avoidance issues who has never even had a hug. Her therapist suggests cuddle therapy to help her with her problem. Reign "King" Beckett is a 40 year old billionaire who falls into instalove upon seeing Haven in a hotel lobby. The tropes for this book are right up my alley - age gap, he falls first, OTT possessive/protective, curvy FMC, but somehow it doesn't quite all hit for me. It's an easy quicker read, and I enjoyed it. I just also feel that there's some potential left on the table.
Haven and King don't feel fully fleshed out to me. I want to know more about how Haven has made it to 25 with the issues she has, and still had the confidence to model high fashion, and lingerie. She is at one hand afraid of touching and being touched, and on the other so starved for affection she agrees to this marriage of convenience super quickly after discovering that King has been hiding the truth of who he is from her the entire time she's known him. I know... willful suspension of disbelief... I also want more from King's background as to why he doesn't believe in love. It's just kind of stated.
While I wish the characters were more fleshed out, a larger issue for me is over the pacing. The big conflict happens around 80% of the way in, and I don't know why the villain is the villain. They have no dimension at all previous to then really, and it doesn't have much oomph behind it as a result. Then the conflict is resolved almost instantly, even though King's reaction is pretty heinous. When the MMC goes that far, I want a big time juicy grovel. I need a big time juicy grovel. I didn't get a big time juicy grovel.
Overall, if you're into the tropes, and are looking for a quick enjoyable read with an OTT hero, this one definitely fits the bill.
Thanks to The Author Agency and Hope Ford for the ARC opportunity.

This was my first introduction to Hope Ford's work. I was intrigued by the tropes, and I stayed for the writing. I like the story, I just didn't agree with it. Which to each their own, it's the authors imagination, not mine. It was too insta-love and possessive at the same time, which came off super creepy. If the mmc was someone she had crossed paths with before, then I could see his visceral reaction and desire to possess her being more feasible and less like a creepy stalker. And I feel like with her issues as severe as they were, there should have been more of a learning curve for her/them in the touching and intimacy aspect.

But if you put those two things aside, it was a likable book. I would have loved to have had her lean into the found family aspects here because some of my favorite moments were between Chrissy and Haven.

This book is definitely character driven, not plot driven, and I'd say the character development was on point. I adored each of the characters.

I would have liked more definitive reasoning in regards to Becca because that whole part felt like a stretch to simply add a contention point for the MCs, and it was quickly swept under the rug.

Overall, I'm rounding up to four because I liked the story in general. I just think it could have been more thought out, which is a me problem, not an author problem.

If you like these tropes, give this book a try and tell me what you think.

Goodness, I love this book! Ridge Beckett, known as King to family and friends, is a millionaire businessman. He is also an over-the-top obsessive, possessive protector who instantly falls for a curvy beauty he spies walking across a parking lot. Oh, he wouldn’t admit to the love part, only the instant attraction and need to possess her. He goes to great lengths to get near to her, to help her with her touch avoidance problem with the intention of making her his. King’s past has given him more than enough reason to think he is unlovable and incapable of giving love. It takes beautiful plus size model, Haven, who may be just a bit more broken than him, to show him that he does indeed have the capacity to love.

Haven was bereft of hugs or any affectionate touch as a child. Her dream of having a husband and children of her own seems impossible, and seeking the help of a professional hugger appears to be her last resort. She has no idea the lengths King went to in order to take on the role of professional hugger, for her use only. Amazingly, she feels an instant connection to King. His patience, his kindness and his soothing voice make her feel safe and his touch does not send her running in the other direction. Of course she has no idea who he really is and when that secret is discovered Haven goes in full retreat.

Advance and retreat, then repeat becomes the norm in their relationship as both try to navigate their feelings, confront their fears and try to let go of the doubts. They discover that love is possible, and that it can bring both unbearable pain and indescribable joy. King’s interactions with his siblings and Haven’s newfound connection with him and each of his siblings are enable and entertaining. Through King, Haven finds the family she has never had before. I can’t wait to read more about all of these fascinating characters.

I wholeheartedly recommend this heartwarming book.

I was intrigued by the blurb for Hire a Cuddler, and found the concept of hiring a professional cuddler fascinating. Is that a real thing?

As it turns out, Haven has intimacy issues, so she seeks out professional help from a "cuddler" as some last-resort therapy. While she's meeting with the guy at a hotel office space, handsome older billionaire Ridge/King sees her and becomes… well, obsessed. As billionaires obsessed with pretty ladies are wont to do, he throws some money around and pretty much hijacks Haven as a client.

Although Haven is crushed when she learns that King was hiding his true identity from her, she agrees to continue seeing him... and even agrees to a fake marriage. But then more things happen, and.... I was already having issues with these characters before this point. I felt Haven could have stood up for herself more, and while Ridge was supposed to be a suave, older man, he came off as a spoiled overgrown frat boy. He knew she had intimacy issues, and thought that lying to her about who he really was as a means of getting closer to her would make her fall for him? And then he said some pretty mean things to her during their fight without even giving her a chance to explain or speak her say, So by the time I got to the miscommunication/breakup, I was underwhelmed by the lack of groveling from Ridge/King. I wanted more groveling from him, and I didn't want her to take him back so easily! He owed her more than what he gave her.

Hire A Cuddler had some really cute moments. It's a quick read, but... overall, it wasn't my favorite.

Hire A Cuddler by Hope Ford is a heartfelt and steamy read that hooked me from the start. This unique story brings together Haven, a socially awkward, plus-size model with intimacy issues, and King, a determined billionaire who’s willing to pose as a professional cuddler just to get close to her.Haven's therapist suggests she try professional cuddling to help break down the emotional walls she's built over the years. Skeptical at first, Haven never expected King to be the one holding her—both literally and emotionally—together. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and the passion that flares up blurs the lines between what's supposed to be professional and what's becoming deeply personal.King's true identity being revealed adds a twist to the story that left me feeling just as conflicted as Haven. The betrayal is sharp, but when King proposes a fake marriage as a way to keep their connection alive, it’s impossible for Haven—and the reader—not to be tempted by the idea. What really stands out in this book is the way Hope Ford handles the themes of trust, vulnerability, and the complexities of love. The age gap between King and Haven, along with the fake marriage trope, adds an extra layer of tension and excitement to the story. Watching Haven navigate her feelings and the boundaries she tries to set, all while King is determined to show her that what they have is real, makes for an emotional and satisfying journey. If you're looking for a romance that’s a bit unconventional but full of heart, Hire A Cuddler is definitely worth picking up. I enjoyed every moment of Haven and King’s story, and I think you will too!

This book was a very hard book to like. I didn’t like the guy in the story and I felt that for what he did there wasn’t enough groveling.

This story is about a young woman named Haven. She is a plus sized model with intimacy issues. Her modeling manager says that she needs to hire a professional cuddler. The thing is she didn’t hire an actual cuddler it was a guy named Ridge “King”’Beckett. He is the world’s most eligible bachelor in Whiskey Run. He apparently is a billionaire which Haven doesn’t know. He has been in foster care including his brothers and sister. Haven’s parents never showed her any love or affection. Haven meets King and she likes him but she thinks that he is just her therapist. King is instantly in love with Haven.’ Haven doesn’t know who King really is until he shows up to one of her modeling gigs. The other models are talking about him. She finds out the truth about him. He goes to her place and tries to apologize. He sends her flowers galore. She finally is talked into hearing him out and she forgives him off the bat. He convinces her to marry him without talking about it. They get married and he gives her the job of doing work at a community center he bought. There is a stupid breakup because again King acted like a total jerk and accused Haven of cheating on him. You meet King’s brothers and sister in this story which I liked. I wish that King would have done more groveling to Haven. She forgave a lot of crap that he did. I did like Haven but I feel that she needed more of a backbone when it came to King.

🫂ARC Review🫂

Hire a Cuddler is the first book in How to Win at Love Series by Hope Ford. It is an insta-love story with a wealthy, ägë-gäp, OTT hero and a young, virgin, curvy heroine, fashion model, with intimacy concerns (plus-sized descriptions are used... I like curvy or goddess descriptions better. 😉) It takes place in the Whiskey Run/Jasper, Wyoming areas. (Previous couples from the Whiskey Run Books pop up in this story.) Ridge (King to his family & close friends) sees Haven across the street, walking into a hotel. He follows her to try to meet her. Haven has a therapy appt to try out a professional cuddler to help her with her intimacy concerns. King uses his wealth & polite intimidation to find out what type of appt Haven is going to. King pretends to be a professional cuddler to get closer to Haven. Haven opens to King & his touches. She finds out he lied and they work thru it. (Not enough grovel on King's part.) They go into a *fake* marriage, each with their own ideas on boundaries. With this being an insta-love story; their is surprisingly some mental health concerns represented and more range of emotions. Definitely enjoyed the supporting characters & family support, HEA and Epilogues. Looking forward to the next story.

⚠️ Disappointed their was a 3rd act break-up instigated by King and he said some very cruel things to Haven. Their time could have been used for King & Haven to get closer. *He definitely did not grovel enough!

Haven has never had a hug, any physical contact of any kind really. So what does she do? Hires a professional Cuddler to help her with her intimacy issues.
King isn't used to not getting what he wants and seeing the beautiful woman in the lobby of the hotel instantly intrigues him. There's something about her, an innocence that makes his inner self yell out, MINE!
Who is she? He never thought he would go through such lengths to find out.
Can his real identity stay a secret?
When she finds out who he really is, she feels betrayed, embarrassed and angry. How could he outright lie to her? She could never trust him and doesn't even want to see him again.
Now that she knows the truth about him, he has to do something to fix it or risk losing her forever.
He pulls out all the stops because it's time to go big or go home!
I like these two together. She's strong, confident and independent. He's not concerned about anyone but her and goes after what he wants.
Make no mistake, this is an OTT insta-love with touch-her-and-die vibes.
It will pull you in, make you laugh, cheer for her, say "Aww" and then make you sigh when you read the last page.
Just saying, I would have held out a little longer (when you get to that part you'll know ) but hey, love makes us all do some pretty crazy things.

Too short, conflicts resolved too fast, ended too fast, too much of a fairytale overall for me.

Billionaire 40 yr old former foster kid falls instantly in love with a 23 yr old plus size model, then pretends to be a professional cuddler to get close to her. She had cold parents, and the trauma of her upbringing has given her a dislike of intimate touch. And yes, she's a virgin.

There's a lot of plot in a very short story, but it's all very quickly resolved with little emotional impact.

SPOILERS****************************************************************

Tropes:

* MF Contemporary
* wealthy 40ish construction business CEO with foster brothers and sister
* foster child, self-made man, lots of demons
* 23 yr old plus size model with dislike of touch and intimacy issues
* insta lust/ love for him
* meets her under false pretenses (pretends to be a professional cuddler)
* she forgives him too quickly
* then they decide to get married and have a child, even though both believe it would be temporary (know each about 3 weeks at this point)
* quick wedding
* gets her into sexy times pretty quickly
* random female employee sets up FC to look like she's cheating
* MC accuses her based on photos, throws her out
* she spends the night at his sister's
* his chauffeur and his brother figure out the set-up
* MC asks for forgiveness, tells her he loves her, she forgives him, all is well, the end
* quick unearned HEA

🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

I really loved this sweet and spicy romance.
Haven was a plus size model. I loved that she had body positive confidence, unfortunately her childhood has left her with fear of touch. So she is 25 yrs old and she is single as she can't cope with being touched. After exhausting all sorts of therapy she has one chance left. Hire a cuddle. It's a therapy programme that will eventually allow her to cuddle and touch.
This is where King first notices her. He is in the building for business. It was head over heels at first sight for him. I would say love but apparently he isn't capable of it, ha jokes on him hehe. He is very possessive, grouchy and loves saying 'My wife'.
He is so determined to know her he ambushes her lessons as her cuddler therapist. She instantly feels different with him and makes small progress. When she starts to feel things,( which is forbidden due to the therapist contract) his true identity is revealed. She feels betrayed. I loved how he never gave up on her but was silly in how tried to keep her. Still he did so many sweet things etc. There was a break up and I was heartbroken for Haven. King has a lot of grovelling to do.
I really liked his relationship with his siblings. They so close and there is so much love. Because of them King is able to see his Love for Haven.
Emotional, drama, banter, secrets, love and spicy.
I can't wait for rest of the siblings story.

Loved this book so much! Haven is a plus size model that hates physical touch from anyone, even shaking hands, but because she has dreams of being a wife and mother one day she decides to face her fears and hires a cuddler. She gets weird vibes from the first appointment and thinks this might not be for her but at the second appointment another man shows up and she gives it another chance with him. This man is actually King, a billionaire bachelor that saw Haven and just had to get to know her more so he actually tricks her into thinking he’s a cuddler. As they continue their appointments they get closer and she starts to trust him but the truth about who he really is comes out eventually. King then offers Haven a deal she's not likely to refuse, a chance at marriage and kids but without love involved. Will it last? Get your copy and find out!

I loved how much King was willing to do for her every step of the way, he really had his eye on the prize with Haven and he was also so patient with her too! Not only is King protective of her but his whole family is too and I loved that! I can’t wait to read the next stories in the series with Kings family members!

🔥Plus Size Love
🔥Fear of Intimacy

Hope knocked it out of the park with this one! The story was so good. King and Haven were very likeable and her friends and his siblings were great too. It starts out with King being taken back by seeing Haven, that he would lie in order to get to know her. He was so gentle and patient, the way he talked about her was like he was head over heals. Then this contract he had written came out of left field for me, fake marriage, I want kids and I like you. I was confused because he kinda talked like he was in love then all of a sudden it's not real feelings. She finds out that he lied, he grovels and she comes back. Things are great, he's acting like his feelings are real then he gets duped into thinking she cheated on him. Never let's her explain and says horrible things. I felt my stomach drop when he said (to paraphrase) "it" was good, but I've had better. Ok this, I DID NOT like!!! He grovels again, but I would have liked a clear explanation from him to her that he didn't mean it and made it up. Besides those two things, I really did love this story!

H- 40 years old, no real mention of past

h- 25 years old, Virgin

No condom use

No OM drama. Slight OW drama (his employee was a little angry over the phone when she learned he got married. In turn, later caused Haven to be harmed and King distrusting her.

Safe read.
