As her sizzling new series continues, Jennifer Chance sparks some serious combustion between a sexy biker and a corporate go-getter who’s ready to let her hair down.

New grad Anna Richardson works hard—so hard that she’s given up having a romantic life. Anna has even convinced her friends that she’s dating an amazing guy—who they’ve simply never met. But now Anna has a wedding to attend and needs to produce the hottie she’s been lying about for the past six months. Enter Jake Flynn, her infuriating, motorcycle-riding, jaw-droppingly gorgeous neighbor, who’s more than willing to fake it for a weekend. In fact, Jake won’t be satisfied until things get real.

Though Jake is only playing the role of adoring boyfriend, he’s starting to feel the heat, and judging by Anna’s sweet blush, so is she. Letting chemistry this intense go to waste would be a real shame. Soon, though, the thin line between fantasy and reality fades. Jake may not be what every buttoned-up fast-tracker wants, but he’s sure as hell what Anna needs. And if she takes a ride with him, their adventure never has to end.

Anna and Jake, kept me good company for as long as it took me to finish their book.
A really nice story, with very likeable main characters and a wonderful conclusion!

Anna is in desperate need to find a date for her friend's wedding and the new, sexy neighbor who seems to only care about his bikes, is not the best candidate, but he has to do.

Jake the sexy mechanic, can't stop thinking about the beautiful, sophisticated woman, who passes by his garage every day, so when he finds her in need of a date for a weekend, he grabs the opportunity to make her finaly his.

The story is well written and quite interesting. I liked the plot very much. As much as i loved, the way they overcame their fears and bonded.
But no matter how much i liked the ending, sadly something felt lukewarm in the entire lenght of the book.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- Jake wasn't the bad boy, biker. He was cool, free spirited, boem.
- Todd: I hated him right away.
- Sizzling hot..
- Dual POV.
- I liked the ending.
- We so the other girls, we know from the first book.

This was great.
Anna is an overachieving workaholic.

So she does what any single girl does and tells her friends she has a boyfriend, so they'll stop trying to set her up.

Only problem she's supposed to bring said boyfriend to her friends wedding.

Enter Bad-Boy Jake. Life is a ride for him. Fixing up bikes is the way he makes his money and just takes life a day at a time.

Jake and Anna are made for each other. (well clearly! it is fiction.)
I loved the ending and had me smiling like the cheshire cat

A lot of funny scenes in here, with appearances from everyone else in the first book.

but damn there was some hot chemistry and scenes!
Great story flow, great writing style, no t ypo's and enough drama/fun/serious to make a good book.

So yeah all in all I liked it.

For some reason I read this book before the first one in the series (probably because it came first alphabetically on my Kindle), but it felt like a stand alone so not a big deal. I really don't have too much to say about it anyway.

I wasn't ever able to really get into the story or the characters. The set-up for the plot sounded right up my alley, but the execution just didn't do anything for me for some reason. I got to the end without ever particularly caring about the resolution. Speaking of the ending, it was so rushed and unbelievable that it just felt thrown together.

Didn't really make me want to read the rest of the books in this series but I'm going to keep them on my TBR in hopes that I can get more interested in them.

Oh. How. Fun! Fake It was a blast! And had oh-so-many of my favoritest things! Yes I am totally using favoritest as a word! lol Pretend relationships, lust-worthy heroes, a heroine finding her way, hot lovin' and a little kidnapping along the way. How could a girl resist?!

The quick of it is that Anna's friends and family are nosy as hell and they want her dating and in love. Something...she's really okay skipping out on right now. And to get them off her back, well, she invents a man. And all's going well for 6 months until she's actually got to show up at her best friend's wedding...with said hunky man she's been "dating". Eep! Her plan is to convince someone to do a little role playing and become "Dave" for the weekend...Enter one oh so sexy neighbor she's been fantasizing about for months--that she's never had the courage to approach-- and that might have just been doing the same thing over her.
"Okay, then." Anna's fantasy was already taking place in her head as she closed her eyes even more tightly, focusing hard. She could almost smell the guy's heady, masculine scent drifting around her--not cologne, not aftershave, just the pure, perfect scent of manly guy bathed in heat and spice and sunshine. And she would look over at him, smile seductively, and purr the perfect line.

"C'mon," she murmured, trying it out. "A weekend at the beach, all the sun and surf you can handle, it's yours for the taking. And so am I." She sighed a little, liking the sound of the words as they rolled off her tongue. "Wanna run away for the weekend?"

"Well, hell. Why don't we make it a year?"

Anna jolted upright, nearly falling off the bar stool. She caught herself the moment before she crashed into the man--the grinning square-jawed, leather-jacked, hunk of man--who had most assuredly not been there thirty seconds ago.

What Worked for Me--Pretty much everything. I really enjoyed so many aspects of this one.

My absolute favorite storyline--Fake Mates--It's just so fun to watch that pretend relationship become something more. I loved that they were neighbors and had been checking each other out for months--even if they'd not actually met before taking on a weekend away for her friend's wedding.

A drool-worthy "bad boy" hero... that's really a total softie and can make a girl pant with just one little glance. Jake was delicious! He's a biker and knows who he is and what he wants in life. He's content and talented and, damn, just a good guy. Even if he doesn't always think so. He's a protector at heart and so someone I would want to spend time with.

And Anna. Well, hello, awesome name for a heroine! She was an interesting one. She's a work-a-holic, determined and completely exasperated with her friends and family always sticking their noses in her love life. I like that she wanted to live her life on her own terms and did what she had to to get people to leave her be.

Some good lovin'--Anna and Jake were scorching hot. The tension and chemistry through the roof. The months of lusting after each other before they actually met definitely raised the heat level and, whew, once they hit the sheets--or in their case everywhere BUT the sheets (there was a lot of outdoor lovin' happening--things were just on fire.

What Didn't Work for Me--Not very much! There were just a couple things that niggled a little but were pretty minor.

Misaligned ages--Both Jake and Anna are supposed to be in their early 20s. But it just didn't quite ring true. They both felt like they were in their 30s and I'd totally get a little shock when their young ages were mentioned. They didn't speak or think like 20 year olds and as highly successful as Anna was in her job, again, age just didn't quite sit right.

Anna's opinion of Jake's job-- To her he just tinkered with motorcycles and didn't have a care in the world. It bordered on lack of respect I thought. She liked him just didn't take him completely serious despite his massive talent for what he did and being sought after for his skills. There were a couple spots he bristled up over her careless words and I would have liked this addressed more and him having stood up for himself.

So not a bad read. Not bad at all. While I had a couple minor little quibbles here and there overall Fake It was a fantastic time and one that has me seriously excited to read more from Chance. I loved seeing these two interact both during the wedding weekend and after things had ended. Definitely one to pick up!

Fake It tells the story of Anna , one of the 4 girls that share a house in New York that the series revolves around . Now Anna was the confident for heroine, in Rock it and now she got her own little problem. Anna is single and looking for the right man. However every attempt to do so has end up with the wrong guy. So Anna has thrown has life into work and has become a workaholic with no time to break the rules. It hard not to like Anna she is modern woman who doesn’t want other wants. She happily as she is but there is a sense that she wants to have it all like her friend Lacey does.

However her family and friends think she be dating and falling in love and have the best of the both worlds. So to keep them out of her love life, she has created this man , her dream man who for six months she has been keeping the illusion up to keep her friends away. Up to now, the illusion has worked but she got a drum up a with a man fast as she going to her best friend’s wedding and they are all expecting him to turn up with h

So she comes with a crazy scheme to find someone for this weekend and get them to go along with her plan and be Dave for this weekend. Her friends think she is crazy and try to help and she has no one until she finally meets her neighbour. It sounds very far fetch and you have to wonder how the author is going to pull this off. Well the leading man, can take credit as he pulls things out of the air to make this story sound plausible to her friends and ex boyfriend.

Jake is the sexy melt your pants type , the man type she doesn’t wants. Anna got her sights a straight laced business type but she been watching him from afar. Little does she know that he has been doing the exact same thing and her housemates/friends have decided to intervene and have them met and the sparks fly. Who wouldn’t want to take Anna’s proposal for a weekend when she lays out on the table like that?

Jake does and he is intrigued by her. Thrown in the best man who happens to be her ex-boyfriend and the other party who introduced the happy couple you got a juicy story here. Chance draws into this crazy fictional world they have created to keep the illusion going that Anna has created or is now reality as these two have seemed to attraction to each that is hard to miss. Whatever it is it seems these two have a lot to think about after this weekend

I enjoyed the second book in the series, and whilst the couple from the first book is mentioned , this is a standalone and introduces us to a whole new cast of characters. This book is told a short time frame and it works because the author takes the moment to savour the scenes and experiences this couple have. These two couldn’t be mismatched further on paper and the author plays this up with some surprising results. I love this take of escort for hire business but from a new audlt persperctive

4 couples and I look forward to Erin’s story

What do you get when you set up a studious over achiever with a smoking hot alpha biker...electrifying chemistry.

Anna Richardson is work focused. When her best friend from college is getting married, Anna makes up a fictitious boyfriend to keep herself from getting set up by her friend. Worse, her ex-boyfriend wants her back and will be attending the wedding as well.

Jake Flynn is a take it as it comes kind of guy. When he over hears Anna has gotten herself in a bind and needs to find a fantasy boyfriend, he volunteers for the job. Anna has dreamed of Jake but he doesn't fit into her world.

Fate It is the adventure Anna and Jake take to discover each other all the while facing their friends, family and exs. A fun contemporary romance, Fake It is packed full of romantic tension, free spirits and finding happiness where you least expect it. Simply, its a feel good read!

I received an advanced readers copy of this book from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank You!

Fake It is the second book in the Rule Breakers series but can be read as a stand alone. Each book covers the story of different characters and you do not need to read the first book to follow along.

I thought that this was a cute story about a make believe relationship where chemistry blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. Anna needs a fake boyfriend to be her date for a friends wedding and Jake, the hunky neighbour that she has been eyeing, happens to be more than willing to fill the role for her. When the weekend away turns out to be more than either of them ever dreamt of things get complicated and feelings get dangerous.

There is a ton of chemistry between Jake and Anna and it doesn't take long for the pages to heat up. The "fake" relationship is every girls fantasy come true and what dreams are made of. Jake shows that he isn't just a motorcycle riding bad boy but a man that knows how to please a woman in more ways than one. Unfortunately both characters have issues from their past and completely opposite lives in the present which complicate things and prove that chemistry isn't always enough.

Considering that the book isn't very long I found that there was a sufficient development between the characters and that I liked both of them. Anna could get a bit annoying at times but I do believe that was the authors intent in order for the plot to flow as it did. It was not a unique story but entertaining none the less and I really enjoyed it. I will be sure to check out the first book in the series and will follow any that come after.

I love marriages of convenience in historical romances - let's put these two strangers together and watch sparks fly! The contemporary counterpart is a boyfriend of convenience, the hot guy that you need to have on your arm for an event, usually a wedding, to avoid gossip or discomfort.

In that sense Fake It is wonderful - a super hot motorcycle dude from down the street is more than willing to go to a wedding with the heroine. It turns out that they're admiration from a distance has been mutual, so with some time together things are sure to heat up. And they do, slowly and deliciously.

The first book of this series, Rock It, is angst-free so I was surprised how much teeth gnashing Jake and Anna do. Her job is a pressure cooker and her ex goes to the wedding in question, creating hellish situations as he goes. Jake is content with his work but has family problems. Both have troubled pasts and baggage to go with. It's a lot.

Don't get me wrong, everyone's hangups feel real and earned. They're worked through in realistic ways and I never felt any whiplash. Jake and Anna need each other, and it's lovely watching them come to that realization. And holy cow, Jake is hot. Muscled man on a motorcycle that always remembers to bring your helmet hot.

But when it comes down to it I was hoping for a less angsty story. I don't like feeling nervous and all "noooo, don't do that, your ex sucks!" while I'm reading a romance, you know? If you like inner turmoil mixed up with sexy times you'll love this book.

I loved this book. Anna Richardson is a hard working business woman. She split with her boyfriend over 6 months ago and since then she has been telling her friends about a new guy she is dating in his place, except there is no guy and now she has a wedding to go to and hasn't a date to take with her. She decides she'll have to ask a suitable guy to go with her, enter her next door neighbour, not so suitable Jake.

Jake is a biker who has lived next door to Anna for 6 months, he's watched her hustle by his house nearly every day. And she is hot with a capital H. When they meet in a bar and he hears her predicament he is only to willing to help out. Anna is not to sure at first as Jake is a not really what she was looking for, but he convinces her that he can do the job. And she can't refuse him really because she he is gorgeous and she needs him. And the adventure begins.

The character's Anna and Jake had great chemistry, and as the story unfolds it was fun to see them learning to live with there differences and things got really steamy as there relationship got closer. Wonderful reading.
I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading more work by this very talented author.

Anna doesn't have time for a boyfriend, she's too busy with work. But this coming weekend she's supposed to attend a friend's wedding. And not only doesn't she have a boyfriend - for the last six months she pretended to be in a happy relationship with her imaginary boyfriend Dave. Only to get her friend off her back - she's always trying to set her up - plus, her Ex is still interested in her too, but she doesn't want anything to do with him anymore.

Time to use her carefully collected pick-up lines on a stranger in a bar - but she's too afraid to try it.

That's when Jake shows up. Jake - the sexy biker from a few doors down.

Even the neighbor-of-a-million-fantasies, the motorcycle sex god who lived down the street from her brownstone - aka the NILF - was a no go, since that would involve her actually talking to the guy.

description

Jake has been seeing glimpses of Anna walking down the street for the last six months. But now that she's all dressed down she's even prettier. He's intrigued.

But he's afraid she would turn him down if he offered his services as a fake boyfriend for the wedding. She's way too shy around him. She blushes non-stop. Adorable.

But all other possible candidates are horrible and so, of course, Jake ends up being her plus one. ☺

description

They have insane chemistry, but both know that it's only one weekend and then Jake will go back to fixing his bikes and riding all over the country and Anna will go back to being a workaholic.

But it's not that easy.

They both enjoy each other too much....☺

What will happen to Anna & Jake?
Can they so easily part ways on monday?
Will they get their HEA?
Will everybody die at the end? ☺
Or will there be a horrible Cliffhanger?

description

I'M NOT TELLING YOU THAT OF COURSE... ☺

description

l don't want to spoil anything ☺

I REALLY LOVED THE BOOK!!!

It was such a sweet and adorably cute & sexy romantic Comedy - at least that's what I would call it if it would've been a movie. And I would SOOOOO watch that movie.

Give me a hot Biker a Navy SEAL or a Rock Star - and I'm TOTALLY FANGIRLING ☺☺☺

description

Jake is such a hot and sexy guy - but he's also so sweet and quiet and kind and always with those halfsmiles on his face *swoons* ☺☺☺

And Anna, this workaholic with the blushing problem! Too adorable!

Two people who would've never met in real life.

But they just belong together!

I really enjoyed following them to the wedding in South Carolina...

description

including all the sexy time at the beach or at the Aquarium etc ☺

It really was the perfect Romance!

The only things that bothered me a bit...

I was shocked when I found out that Jake was only 24!!!!! o.O

He felt soooo 33 to me. No idea why - I thought he was in his early thirties and Anna in her late 20's but nope - 24. That felt a bit unrealistic to me - a little bit. It didn't stop me from enjoying the book - but it just felt a bit weird ☺

I REALL LOVED READING ABOUT ANNA & JAKE!

description

If you like sexy New Adult romances with a HOT Biker ----->>>

GO AND BUY THE BOOK ☺

I'm really looking forward to reading the next books in the series - the stories about Anna's roomates Erin & Dani!

**This was an ARC copy given free by Netgalley in exchange for a honest review**

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story. I liked both Anna and Jake and I liked them together. The story was fun and sexy...nothing too deep but it's a good romance to enjoy for an afternoon.

Anna is a smart and driven young woman. She works as a global consultant and works a lot and at all hours. She lost her dad when she was a teen and her and her mom went through some very tough times before things got better. This drove Anna to work hard and save money in case of anything horrible happening in the future.

Jake is a motorcycle mechanic and kind of a free spirit. He left home at 18 and has been traveling around the country for the last 5 years. Jake has a good reputation as a motorcycle mechanic and usually gets enough work fixing or building custom bikes that he makes the money he needs to get by but he doesn't focus on possessions. The last 6 months, Jake has been staying in his Grandma's brownstone, fixing it up so the family can sell it now that Grandma is staying upstate with the rest of the family.

Anna had been involved with a co-worker, Todd. They worked well together but when he was sent to the west coast for a project, Todd broke it off with Anna saying a long distance relationship was too much of a "distraction". 6 months later and Todd's back in town and sniffing around Anna because he realizes his mistake in letting her go. The only problem is Anna has no interest in getting back together with Todd but he wont take the hint. Also, since Anna and Todd's breakup, Anna's friends seem to think it's their duty to fix Anna up with every "nice guy" they know. Anna made up a fictitious boyfriend to keep Todd and her friends at bay but unfortunately no one actually believes her story. Now Anna's friend is having a wedding and Todd will be there since he's buddies with the groom and was instrumental in the bride and groom meeting. Anna decided she needed to find a stand in for her fake boyfriend but since she leaves it until the last moment she doesn't have much luck with her search. She does however, encounter Jake. Anna has noticed Jake since he moved in down the street and started fixing up the house there. She's walked by his garage many times (usually intentionally) so she could glimpse him while he was there working on a motorcycle. What Anna didn't realize is that while she was watching him, Jake was in turn watching her. There's a strong attraction between them and Anna's tempted to explore it but also doesn't think Jake could pass for her fake boyfriend and doesn't try to get him to help her by posing as her fake boyfriend for the wedding. Jake has other ideas though and ends up convincing her that he should go with her to pose as her boyfriend and also have some fun while they're there. Anna doesn't often have time for fun and decides to grab on to what fun she can (for the weekend).

Jake and Anna fly in for the wedding and Jake has managed to procure the loan of a motorcycle for them to drive around town. This ends up causing quite a stir among Anna's friends as they wouldn't expect her to be involved with someone so earthy. Todd behaves like a real jerk during the wedding weekend activities, trying to push Anna to spend time with him and give him another chance but forcing through the pretense of work. Jake and Anna do manage to find some time to themselves though and explore the chemistry between them. Jake is actually very good at realizing what Anna needs and treating her well. He also can tell when she's thinking too much and tries to get her mind on other things. This is good for Anna and I think it's probably the first bit of happiness she's had in a while. The problem lies in the fact that Jake has so real roots and Anna can't imagine anything solid with him since she lives her life for her job. Anna has focuses on school and then her career for so long she just can't imagine letting anything else be the focus of her life. But things get muddled for Anna as she spends more time with Jake and realizing she doesn't want to go back to the dreariness of living for her job. Things don't go smoothly for the couple and there's some drama before everything is said and done but I was happy with the way things ended. The story ends with Anna realizing a need to change her life priorities and she and Jake decide to go it together in to the future (and eventually to their HEA but no L-bombs are dropped yet). :D

I found this to be a very enjoyable story. I liked both Jake and Anna and could understand both based off my past experiences. I would have liked to get a bit more of their ending...maybe an epilogue to show Anna and Jake a bit down the line would have been a nice finish but it's not that big of an issue as I still liked the ending pretty well as it was. This was a good addition to the series and I'm planning to read the 3rd book in the series when it comes out. I'd recommend this story. :D

*I received this book from NetGalley for a free and impartial review – thanks!*

I have to say that it has taken me longer to get this review done because I have a thing about reading books in series out of order. Fake It is book two in the Rule Breakers series.

I knew there was a book one and so of course I had to get it first and read it before starting number two. Having said that though, these books are definitely stand-alone and while the characters reappear, Ms. Chance does a wonderful job so that you don’t need to have read one story to work out what is going on in the other or even how the characters are connected.

Book one was Rock It and featured Lacey Dawes and rock star legend Dante Falcone. Fake It, book two focuses on Lacey’s friend and flat mate Anna Richardson and Jake Flynn, the hottie who lives a few doors down and fixes motorcycles. Book one was hot and I fell in love with Lacey and Dante.

I liked Anna but didn’t fall in love with her, probably because I just wasn’t able to get a real handle on her. Jake I could understand and I knew where he was coming from. Anna spent too much time being awkward with Jake for some reason. It’s one thing to be awkward when you first meet, but after you have already started a relationship, that awkwardness and that off kilter feeling should start to wear off, but she was always jumpy around Jake and it just didn’t sit right somehow. There were times when I did really want to reach in and give her a nudge or a little slap to push her along a bit. Other than that, I did like her as a character though and I understood her reasons for doing what she did.

Anna had a boyfriend who dumped her and she also feels that she doesn’t really fit in with her group of friends from college – she has issues that go back to her childhood which Jake manages to ferret out of her - so she makes up this guy, a dream guy.

That’s all well and good if your friends are never going to see him because they live in Australia and you live far away in the USA, for example, but add in a complication of a wedding of a BFF where you are one of the bridesmaids and Anna has a problem.

She has to go to the wedding and she has to somehow rustle up a boyfriend that she doesn’t have. Her flat mates try to help her and there were funny scenes when she is running pick up lines in a bar and Jake the hottie responds to them.

I hope we get to see more of her flat mates because they really intrigue me! They did try to help her find a date for the wedding before Jake entered the picture.

Jake has been watching her go to and from work every day since he has been in his grandmother’s brownstone, but he hasn’t made a move. Now he has his chance. Is he going to let it slip through his fingers or can he persuade Anna that he is the boyfriend that she needs for the wedding and for after as well?

I liked Jake because he was upfront, sexy and he didn’t take advantage of Anna when he could have – under the tattoos and the oh so sexy bad boy biker image lies a real heart of gold. Jake also has some issues and what his parents did seemed a bit harsh to me – I really expected them to have given him the armed forces option. Ms. Chance didn’t take the easy expected option and this was a real surprise and a bonus because it meant that Jake and his life were able to be explained fully. He was a completely rounded character and he was both strong and yet also kind and considerate, despite also having some issues with his family.

What I did love was that Anna accepted Jake for who he was and she didn’t try to mould him into her perfect model boyfriend for the weekend. Underneath everything, I think she understood Jake and in some ways they were kindred spirits, even if Anna took a while to realize it and to follow her dreams.

The ex-boyfriend was perfectly written as a driven young executive striving for the top and I loved when Anna got the best of him in the work situation – you go girl! It just showed that he wasn’t right for her and I am glad that she realized it and saw that there was another path that she could take.

The lovemaking is hot and sexy and yet, that isn’t all there is. This is a story about finding out who you really are and being true to yourself and having the courage to be yourself and follow a dream and getting off the path that you have chosen when you realize it’s the wrong one. This was truer in this book with Anna and Jake, than it was in book number one, because Lacey was already doing what she wanted to do. Anna was a bit more of a slow learner, but she did pick it up eventually.

I really can’t wait for more books in this series. Ms. Chance has written a great story with humour, emotion, love and characters you can relate to. Well done!

Jennifer Chance's debut novel, Rock It, featuring Lacey and Dante totally blew me away. I immediately added her to my list of must-read authors. I have been eagerly waiting for FAKE IT, the second book in the Rule Breakers series, about Lacey's workaholic friend, Anna Richardson and their hot neighbor, Jake Flynn. Finally it's out and I am happy to say I was not a bit disappointed! It was such a great read I didn't mind one bit that I lost sleep finishing it. Lol. Anna and Jake were completely worth it!!

Anna is a great character I couldn't help but cheer on. She had some rough years at home as a teenager and has made it her mission in life for neither her or her mother to ever be in that situation again. With all that ambition she doesn't have a lot of time to give to a relationship. She thought she'd found the perfect guy in her coworker, Todd. He was handsome, as driven as her, successful, and they worked well together. He told her she was his perfect number two right up until he took a position on the opposite coast and dumped her, saying a long distance relationship was too hard and he wanted to be able to explore his options. To save face and hold off her matchmaking friends she invents a sexy and successful new boyfriend, Dave. This works fairly well until she's expected to bring the new guy along with her to her best friend from college's wedding. Not ready to admit she's been lying for the past six months she enlists her roommates to help her find a guy willing to fake being in a relationship with her in exchange for a weekend at the beach. Problem being, she's waited to the last minute and is pretty desperate to find someone who can live up to the paragon she's invented.

Jake Flynn is Anna's tall, dark and sexy new neighbor who's had her full attention ever since he moved in. He's had a starring role in her fantasies even though he's not at all her usual type. He rides a motorcycle, spends his days working on them and is a live for the moment kind of guy. Hot as hell, but bad boy through and through. So even when Jake volunteers to be Anna's "Dave" she's not so sure he can pull off the corporate type she's described to her friends, and even if he can, she's not so sure she can resist falling for him. He's definitely too dangerous to her peace of mind.

Jake has been having some fantasies of his own and jumps at the chance to spend a weekend in close quarters with Anna. A temporary arrangement is fine by him because he's not the settling down kind of guy. Jake went through some rough times of his own and doesn't think he can ever offer the stability and security a woman like Anna needs. He doesn't think she'd want anything to do with him if she knew his past, but he's more than willing to help the beautiful and curvy Anna unwind and enjoy some good times in the present together.

These two are definitely a case of opposites attracting and filling in the parts missing in the other. Their sexual attraction has been accumulating for six months and let me tell you it explodes!! They are so into each other they have no problem convincing Anna's friends that what's going on between them is real. No, their problem is they fall hard and fast, can't keep their hands off each other, can't imagine their life without the other once the weekend is over. but don't know how to work past their differences. Jake is free-spirited and lives for the day while Anna is uptight and sacrifices today in order to secure her future. Ms. Chance does a fabulous job of drawing the reader into the heart of her characters and their plight. She does it with wit, great dialogue, well-developed and likable characters, and a writing style that is comfortable to read while we settle in for her entertaining story.

My only issue was the age of the characters. They seemed too mature, not so much in their life experience, but in the way they handled themselves to be as young as they were. Jake seemed too comfortable in his own skin, knew himself too well, and behaved in ways that didn't sit right with me to attribute them to a twenty-four year old man. I felt the same about Anna at twenty-three and all she'd accomplished, but not quite to the same degrees as Jake. IMHO these two seemed at least in their late twenties. Every time their young age was mentioned it threw me, but not so much that I didn't love it from beginning to end! 4 stars

Jake Flynn is HOTT.

I should probably stop reading romance novels when what I'm looking for is actually erotica. I want the slow-burn tease, the heated glances, the moaning-and-grunting ecstasy and none of that gradual tapering off into cuddling, feelings of love, thinking about the long-term, and meeting each other's family.

That said, 4 stars is probably the highest rating you can expect out of me for a romance novel. I get tired of the tropes, the cliches, the rosy glasses of love.

Fake It was just what I was looking for today. Though I've never been into bad boys, bikers, or even alpha males, our hero Jake Flynn was tall, dark, and built...exactly the kind of man I wanted to read about. He's assertive when he sees something he likes, and though I think I would hate some random pushy guy in real life, that all changes if I'm into the guy -- in that case, assertive is welcomed and thrilling. But as mentioned above, this is a romance novel, so hottie Jake eventually gets gooey and lovey and therefore somewhat less electrifying as the plot progresses. BOO.

Jake was occasionally too condescending for me (throwing around endearments like "honey" and "sweetheart" was skin-crawling when he didn't really know Anna at all) -- I prefer earnest, devoted good boys normally. His attitude was also unnecessarily misogynist at times, such as when he shrugged off Anna's "stories" with a dismissive "Who can understand women?" when he first met Anna's friends. Ugh. Way to discredit your supposed girlfriend, buddy.

I did feel like the characters were a little thinly sketched. Anna is the young corporate go-getter who's all about making bank, while Jake is the rough-and-tough free spirit with a heart of gold. While I liked both characters, there wasn't the level of detail needed to make them feel totally real. The premise is that Anna needs to find a guy who can pose as "Dave," the boyfriend she made up, for her college roommate's upcoming wedding. Aside from the fact that she's tired of her friends setting her up with new men, her unfortunate ex-boyfriend will also be attending the wedding.

I appreciate that there was little angst over "other women." Jake doesn't have any crazy ex-girlfriends or other side pieces that Anna needs to worry about. Anna's main worries are her demanding, high-powered job and the gross ex-boyfriend Todd who once worked with her and now works with her again.

I also appreciated that Anna had no hang-ups about sex with Jake once they got to know each other a little better. She wasn't a virgin, wasn't worried about being a "good girl," or saving the first time for a big finale or romantic bedroom with candles. She just enjoyed Jake's touch and let it lead where it may. The novel focuses on Anna and Jake's time together, pretty much eliminating any plot that might get in the way. It was good enough for me, I think -- a quick, down-and-dirty read with a sizzling hero.

This wasn't a horrible book but it wasn't as good as I had hoped. After reading the description and seeing the nice cover I had really high hopes for this book. Anna is in the wedding of a friend she has had since college, that same friend has invited her ex who even though he dumped her won't seem to go away. Trying to get people to leave her love life alone Anna made up a boyfriend but now that this boyfriend is supposed to attend the wedding with Anna she needs someone to fill in and be the prefect man that Anna made up. But since Anna's life revolves around her job and creating security Anna doesn't even have the time to find her make believe boyfriend.

One night when Anna is out with friends she see's Jake the neighbor down the street who is gorgeous but not anywhere near her type. When Jake hears about Anna's problem he happily steps up to help Anna find a date but Jake knows that he is the one who will take Anna. Jake has scene Anna for six months and has wanted her for those long six months, now with the opportunity to spend a weekend away with her Jake jumps at the chance even though he isn't sure a weekend will be enough.

With no other options Anna takes Jake, but the more time they spend together the more Anna see's that Jake doesn't fit anywhere near what she thought her perfect man is but he may just be the perfect man she needs. Jake doesn't plan everything like Anna Jake lives his life and the longer they spend together the more Anna begins to realize that her life isn't as perfect as she thought it was. With the weekend almost over both Anna and Jake begin to think that the time together isn't enough but Anna's job once again takes her away and Anna will have to decide if her plan is really creating a perfect life like she thought or is her plan keeping her from living her life.

What I didn't like about this book was that there were errors in this book, and I can look past a lot but there are spots when the hero is called a different name(that is close to his name) and the heroine is called a completely different name(that isn't even in the book) I found my self thinking what huh and re-reading to make sure I hadn't lost my mind. My other issue was the heroine, she just didn't come off as likable through a lot of this book. I found myself thinking that Jake deserved someone better and that Anna thought she was better than Jake and too good for him. I found myself getting really frustrated with her and wanting to shake her. And I'm not someone who usually gets irritated with heroines in fact its almost always the other way around because I tend to connect with the heroine since I try to put myself in her place.

I did really like Jake he was a good hero but I would have liked him to be a little more take charge at the beginning but when he gets going there was no stopping him. And I did also like that Anna begins to grow and soften up the longer you read , and she begins to realize what true happiness is. I thought I knew how this story would end but I was wrong(I guess I have watched too many movies with this plot). I also would have liked the "villain"(if thats the correct word for him) to have gotten more of what was coming to him but thats just me being the vindictive book lady *what can I say I like my revenge:}*. This was a sweet story and it was a very light read that was also a quick read. This story was also very sweet at times, and though this is book two in the series (how oh how do I keep finding the second books in series and not realizing they are books two till it's too late *shaking my head in shame*) I wasn't lost at all in fact since I haven't looked yet I'm not even sure I know who the couple was in book one. Overall this was an ok book that wash nowhere near horrible but could have been great.

This is the second book I've read from Jennifer Chance, and it did not disappoint.
I read Rock it, and loved how fun, easy and carefree the story read. The story and writing reminded me of one of my fave authors today, Laura Kaye.
This book picks up where Rock it left off, this time is the story of Anna, another housemate of the girl from book one. This time the hero is Jake, their neighbor.

Anna feels pressured by her friends to have a romantic life, so, in order to get them off her back and keep her ex at bay, she makes up a fictitious boyfriend. But, when it's time to produce said boyfriend during a weekend wedding, Anna is going to have to find someone to pose as her imaginary boyfriend or fess up.

Enter, Jake...

Did I mention the guy is smoking hot, and a biker?

Yuuuup.

Anywho, Anna is uptight, workaholic, and after running into Jake at a bar, Jake is relentless, pretty much offering to pose as her fake boyfriend. From there, things take off, sparks fly (among other things), and the uncertainty of where their 'fake' weekend as a couple is going to end up once the weekend is over, gnaws at them both. Needless to say they hit it off and have an awesome time.
I'll leave it there, because I don't want to give away spoilers.
All I can say is Anna needed to lighten up. I found her character kind of dry and insecure. Not to mention my pet peeve about her description. Curvy. She's curvy. And he likes her curves.
Me: that's great!

Curvy. And her boobs. He loves her boobs. He touches them, fondles them, stares at them bounce, touches them again.

Jake: I love her curves. Her curvy frame. And her plump breasts...
"Anna's tantalizing curves..."
"She had poured her curves into a slinky pink dress..."
"her lush curves drawing his eye..."

Me: I know, you've told me repeatedly.

"had a few too many curves to fit into any current style of clothing in stores."
"...body with all of its curves..."

Me: For the love of everything sacred! I get it. She's curvy.

As the reader, for me to notice the use of the word so much made me wonder: Is that a way of telling us she's a plus size? If she is, fine. Hell, more power to her. But when told to us -- repeatedly -- it felt like overkill. She's curvy, and that's fine; to me, her weight shouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't expect to read a book where the heroine is described as skinny or thin over and over again. How he loves her flat chest, her skinny square frame, her size zero body. If it did, I'd be writing the same thing on said review. Well, you get my drift.

Other than that, the book is fun, quick, easy read like the first one, and I can't wait to read the next installment in the series of Rule Breakers. Jennifer Chance is quickly becoming one of my fave authors - the kind I'll one-click just because it's her book <3.

This book can be read as a standalone, and there's no need to read the first one -- although, you should read Rock It, for the sole reason that it's awesome and you'll be missing out. Can't wait for the next book! :)

I love “fake” boyfriend scenarios. I have NO clue why! It’s cheesy, it’s over done, but it’s my guilty pleasure. You’d think I’d be sick of them. Nope. It was what actually drew me to this story! But how would this story be different than all the others? Take a cheesy literary device, add in complete opposite personalities with scorching physical attraction, sprinkle it with a touch of childhood drama, a touch of nasty ex-boyfriends and you get a sweet HEA for Anna and Jake, promise!

Anna was introduced in the first book of the Rule Breakers series as the buttoned-up workaholic. She’s good at what she does but that also means that she gets taken advantage of. If she wants to keep moving up in the company, she’s got to keep saying “yes” to all the work coming her way. It doesn’t help that her ex-boyfriend works with her and uses and abuses his position to work his way back into her life.

To avoid the hassle of dealing with him and Anna’s best friend who won’t give up on trying to fix her up with guys, Anna has invented the “perfect boyfriend”. Anna had hoped that would stop these two from meddling in her love life. Unfortunately, it hasn’t. This was one part of the story that absolutely drove me nuts. Anna’s best friend was obnoxiously relentless with fixing Anna up with guys. Even after Anna brought Jake to the wedding “weekend”. If she really was a best friend, she would have actually listened to Anna and not just did whatever she thought Anna needed. I think Ms. Chance could have built on this in the story but it was glossed over in the end – or I missed it, which is entirely possible, knowing me. With a bestie like that, who needs enemies?

Jake was a fantastic character. If you like guys who are genuine, live in the moment, and don’t do anything they don’t want to do, you’ll love Jake Flynn. He lives his own life, fixing bikes all over the United States. He’s noticed Anna walking in front of his garage for the past six months and he finally sees an opportunity to get close to her. He’s a guy that sees something he wants and goes for it. Love. Him.

Ms. Chance is a great writer, too! She kept Jake’s character consistent throughout the entire book. Heck, all the characters were consistent, except maybe the ex-boyfriend, but of course his true colors were just surfacing by the end of the book.

The pace of the book was good and I only got slightly bored during some of Anna’s self-reflection dialogues. She seemed to be rolling over the same thoughts frequently. Eh, I must have old lady ADD or something…

Either way, not much will stop me from continuing on with this series. I really do enjoy Ms. Chance’s original and entertaining stories. The fact that she writes well and uses multiple POVs doesn’t hurt either (you know I love my multiple POVs).

Not to distract you but the next book in the series is Want It and it’s Erin’s story (YAY!). Erin is the artist of the four friends. I didn’t mention that part about the series, did I? OOPS! Each book features one of four best friends. There, I’ve mentioned it ;)

Want It is expected out November 2014. Risk It is expected March 2015. Now that’s the story I’m waiting for…

Anna Richardson is a workaholic who puts works before everything else. Gaining financial stability has been one of her greatest goals and nothing is going to get in her way of achieving that goal. Not even a sexy, handsome biker.

But since she is so focused on work, she has forgotten that it's time to face up to the story she's fed her friends for the last since months--she must attend her best friend's wedding with her loving handsome boyfriend. The imaginary one she made up to keep her friend and her ex at bay.

Truth be told that although her main focus in her work she hasn't been able to ignore her sexy new neighbor. Although she has lusted after him for the last six months she 'knows' that nothing can come off it. He's a drifter with an unstable job and no financial security.

Jake Flynn moved to his grandmother's brownstone to get it ready for sale. He's been lucky in that jobs keep landing in his hands and that he has been kept busy the last few months. But not so busy that he hasn't noticed the curvacious woman that struts in front of his garage whenever he's working on his bikes.

Not one to get into any entanglements, Jake is happy to help Anna during her weekend of need. What he's not expecting is to fall head over handlebars in love with the career woman who has no time for a relationship.

But never one to quit, Jake is determined to make Anna see that there's more to life than working and saving money.

I have to say that I enjoyed this story much more than the first one. There was something about the characters that pulled me in and kept me interested throughout.

I liked Anna from the very beginning. I enjoyed how flustered she became whenever Jake was in her presence and how hard she worked to convince herself that this was just a weekend fling.

That's not to say that I didn't want to shake some sense into her a time or three though. She had a tendency of over-thinking things to the point of doubting her decisions and her feelings.

Thankfully, Jake was there to bring her out of her head. He pushed her to enjoy the moment even while still allowing her to maintain some sort of control over decisions. I loved that he brought the best out of her and that he never made her feel wrong about her goals. He understood her drive to succeed, but also saw inside to the woman who wanted to be free and enjoy life.

As for the romance, I have to say that Jennifer Chance didn't hold her punches this time around. This didn't feel at all like an insta-love type of scenario. She made sure to establish, develop and strengthen Jake and Anna's connection as the story progressed.

Through the use of flirty banter, meaningful conversation and sizzling hot encounters the author made sure that Jake and Anna's initial connection developed into something more than a weekend fling.

All in all, a fantastic addition to the series that brought together two opposite individuals that find common ground in their desire to live life to the fullest.

Lindy's Thoughts:

Fake It, by Jennifer Chance, was a very fun, sexy, and entertaining story! It is the story of workaholic Anna Richardson, and sexy motorcycle man, Jake Flynn. Anna had a childhood in which her mother constantly struggled with finances. As you can imagine, this had a huge effect of Anna. She made a promise to herself, that she would never struggle with money, and have to go through what her mother had. Therefore, she threw herself in to college, and made a successful career for herself that ensured a vast amount of material wealth and comfort. Unfortunately, she became a workaholic and doesn't let her hair down much. With her college roommate getting married, she needs to produce a date. Especially since she lied to her friends and told them she had a boyfriend named Dave that she had been dating for six months. In reality, she's created this fake boyfriend to stop her college friends from constantly trying to set her up, and to stop her ex-boyfriend, Todd, from trying to impose himself back in to her life.

Enter, Jake. He is Anna's sexy neighbor. Every night she walks past his garage as he works on motorcycles, and dresses up just for him. Jake is a free spirit, who likes to travel and ride his bike. He is the complete opposite of Anna's type. She tends to go for the stiff, button-up, well-off, and prominent business men. Jake has set his eyes on Anna ands is very persistent. While she is looking for a man to stand in as her fake boyfriend, Jake is all to willing to offer his services, and while Anna is reluctant at first, she eventually agrees!

Fake It was such a fun story! I loved Jake's free spirited and fun attitude. He brought out such a different side to Anna, and she started to really live and enjoy her life. She stopped focusing on her image, and what others thought, and really started to enjoy her own adventure, and live! Jake and Anna were very sexy together. They had great chemistry, and Ms. Chance writes the steamiest love scenes! Whew!!! She sure knows what she is doing!!! These two may have been opposites, but they really complimented one another. Last, but not least, I loved getting reunited with the secondary characters from the last book, Rock It! Erin, Dani, and of course Lacey were great! Any girl would be lucky to have them as friends, and I felt like they were mine. Fake It, kept my attention, and I couldn't wait to see how it all would end.

My Rating:

If you are looking for a fun, easygoing romance, with a sexy feel, Fake It, is the read for you! I give Fake It 4 Wild, Adventurous, Carefree, Coming Out5 of Your Shell, and Living Life Filled Stars!!! Each book in this series, just keeps getting better, and I'm excited to see what Ms. Chance comes up with next!

Author Jennifer Chance blew me away with her first book in her Rulebreakers series, Rock It, and she’s done it again with Fake It. I love this author’s voice, I love these books that are written in first person, and I absolutely love her bad boy heroes and her smart but slightly nutty heroines. I am so far past the age of this New Adult genre but there are a handful of authors that just keep drawing me back in and Ms. Chance is one of them. Sometimes outrageous, often funny, and always sexy you honestly don’t want to miss what this author is putting out.
Anna Richardson has really, really gotten herself in to a mess and is trying to figure out how to rectify it when she accidentally propositions her beautiful (her words not mine) and sexy neighbor, Jake Flynn. What I love is that Jake totally takes advantage of her proposition because he’s been watching her and he knows she wants him just as much as he wants her and he plans to get his way.
What I loved about Jake is that he thinks he’s a big time screw up but in reality he’s a stand up guy. That’s not to say he hasn’t done some stupid things in his life but then very few people get out of the teens and early twenties without doing some stupid things. He is a free spirit, there’s no doubt about that but he realizes pretty early into his association with Anna that not being with her will be very, very difficult for him.
As much as Anna would like for everyone to think she has her shit together, it’s evident that she’s the one that has way more issues out of the two of them. I’m not discounting her problems, but the thing is she doesn’t see them. She thinks she has it all but the thing is she isn’t living her life her life is running her ragged.
These two were so good for one another; Anna saw only the good in Jake and she bolstered his confidence and made him see himself in a new light. Jake had a way of pushing Anna’s boundaries and making her get out and experience everything the world had to offer even when it scared her and he was there with her every step of the way to guide her. It really was sweet to watch them fall in love even when neither one of them wanted to admit that was what was happening. But don’t think this is a sweet and innocent romance because holy smokin’ hotness, these two together are like gasoline and matches. The seriously burn up the sheets, the sand, the ocean, and every other surface they touch together…sizzling hot!
If you want a fast and furious romance that will keep you entertained from beginning to end then look no further than Fake It by Jennifer Chance. It is sexy and fun!

I really enjoyed this story in fact it is the second in the series for me that I have read. This story revolves around Anna Richardson, a professional in corporate world. She put herself through college and has worked her way up the corporate ladder. She rents a room at the brownstone of Erin Connelly, a frustrated artist that works at an art gallery. Erin also rents out another room to Dani Michaels who is a bartender and a very hip and cool chick.
Anna has always been very insecure due to her background. She has secrets that she holds close to her chest like an iron lung. There is only one soul that knows everything and all their old college friend will be there. Anna feels accomplished enough it’s her personal life that is causing the problem.
You see Todd her ex has moved back to town after he was the one who broke up with her, he now wants to get back together. She has been avoiding him which is hard to do since they are back working together. Second problem, she had been telling Kristen her old roommate from college and future bride, all about Dave her imaginary boyfriend. Kristen knows she’s lying but Anna won’t admit defeat. Anna is hoping she can recruit someone either tonight or tomorrow night to be her boyfriend for the weekend. Then they can learn their part of Dave in 5 days for the weekend getaway.
In walks her, “walking orgasm” for the last six months, Jake Flynn, her new neighbor. He is a rough, Alpha Male, buff, and a bike. Anna had been scoping him out for the last six months. Never getting up the nerve to talk to him. Everything about him scared him but she couldn’t figure out why he always had an easy smile and a smooth style about him.
Jake also had been checking her out with her bouncy hair, to proper suits, and flirty shoes. She reminded him of a forties pinup model which he took liberties with that in his fantasies one too many times. He too was having some very day and night orgasmic dreams about Anna too. He could tell she didn’t think she was attractive but she was a knock out. Yes, she is what “they” would call full figured but Jake called her all woman. Stacked on top, thin waist, and long thicker legs. Perfect for him. Instant chemistry between them.
Neither was looking for a committed relationship just a weekend of fun. So, not thinking he would really want to do it she tried to shake him off but he insisted. The trip turns out to be quite the adventure of a lifetime. I just wish there would have been a epilogue at the end, also it started a to ramble a little about ¼ of the way in and then again toward the end for me. I for that reason gave this book 4 stars. Can the workaholic career woman on a mission to succeed and the hot wandering, motorcycle guy pull off a romantic performance of the year when she needs a boyfriend to attend her friend’s wedding? Anna is determined never to be homeless or helpless again. She has goals and to achieve them she works 24-7, having no personal life at all. Desperate to beat the clock and find someone to hide her lie for only one weekend, Anna actually practices how to pick up a guy, thinking she is alone. Enter her hot as blazes neighbor, Jake Flynn, who hears her “plea” and offers to stand for her. What ensues for Anna and Jake is some humor, interference from the rude and arrogant ex-boyfriend, the interrogations of more than casually curious friends and a weekend of sizzling tension. When Jake issues a challenge to Anna to learn to break free and enjoy life, will she be able to? Both of their hearts are on the line and that never should have happened, they were supposed to Fake It. Can the free spirit who is hiding past pain and the over achiever with her own demons to slay find a way to meet in the middle?

Jennifer Chance makes romantic tension fun to read! Her world becomes the perfect backdrop for love, intended or not and the supporting cast adds a sense of realism for this tale, from the family, to the friends, to the arrogant ex-boyfriend, how could love become more than an act? Anna was a closet free spirit, trapped inside a woman determined to succeed and amass enough money to feel secure. Jake has been hurt, has loved and lost, and is determined to never stay in one place long enough to get hurt again, but he has a heart of gold and seems to know what Anna wants and needs before she does. Ms. Chance has created a romance that promises to feel good in the end!

A biker and a good girl? What's not to like? ;o)

I love a good ruse to get a couple together before the established schedule of a relationship. When that boundary is crossed, the encounters become so much more fun and exhilarating!

First reviewed on Literaria http://sede-literaria.blogspot.com

Anna is a successful woman who finds herself invited to a wedding where she will face the ex who dumped her. Following a last minute plan, she embarks on a kamikaze mission to find the right guy to stand in for a fake boyfriend. She’s been fantasizing with this imaginary perfect guy for everybody’s sake when hot biker Jake accidentally invites himself to do the deed.

I don’t know why she fights the idea so much. Maybe because she’s so into him she’s afraid she won’t have any control over her emotions. The good thing is that Jake is very determined to do just that. He’s going to prove to her that fake can turn into real in a nanosecond of heat and lust.

Both characters are very attractive. They have their quirks, Anna talks too much, Jake might have a short temper that estranged him from his family in his youth, but they're still nice and appealing to me.

Two favourite things:

-Anna has been constricted by her responsibilities. She's a workaholic and doesn't know how to free herself from what her friends think of her love life. Now, however, she's finding a new self in doing unexpected things, in being with someone unexpected.

-Sensuality off the charts: every moment of anticipation and intimacy between Anna and Jake is just spellbinding. I relished every second!

Anna and Jake connect so well. Not only physically, but they listen to each other in a way filled with honesty, attraction and understanding. I loved their easy interactions, how perfect they were for each other in a warm and playful way. And the chemistry was over the roof and right into my blood. Gorgeous!

Cute things to point out:

- the wedding is a beautiful setting for this passionate romance. It's a long weekend full of events that provide the perfect frame for sweet, sexy, and meaningful scenes

- the conversations feel so real, so infused with honesty and personality. I really felt like I was living through these two people

- the author seems to be quite at ease with bikes, letting on what would be comfortable or not around them, or how it feels to be on the road on top of one

Not everything important happens at the wedding. Jake is responsible for a big twist in the plot that puts their personalities to the test and sky-rocket their relationship.

A beautiful story about unexpected love, taking chances in life, and reimagining our destiny as we find ourselves in it. Great!

This is the second book in the series, and I really did enjoy the first book, so I was more than happy to read this book as well. We were briefly introduced to the character Anna in the first book, but you definitely don't need to have read the first book in order to enjoy this one, so feel free to step into the middle of this series.

The premise of this book is kinda cute, Anna has been talking up this guy to her friends, so they will stop trying to find her a match (basically she has an imaginary boyfriend). But now a wedding is coming up and she has to produce this boyfriend or everyone will know she lied. Enter the hot, motorcycle riding neighbor, Jake. Anna is hesitant about this newfound "relationship" and stays that way throughout the entire book. There were many times during the book where I wanted to shake her and tell her she needed to get her head out of the sand and start actually living her life. Anna works to much, like way to much, to the point where I don't see how she is able to maintain any relationships with anyone. And another thing that really bothered me about Anna was that her ex works with her and he is a total dirt-bag who talks down to her and tries to make her look bad, and she lets him do it. I really needed her to stand up for herself. I liked Anna fine, I just didn't love her, didn't form a strong bond to her.

Jake I did like a lot. He's a free spirit, he moves all over the place, and lives the way he wants. He doesn't take crap from anyone, but at the same time he isn't some hot head who goes after everyone, he really does have a moral compass and tends to stand up for people who aren't or aren't able to stand up for themselves. I liked that he was sure of himself. That he knew who he was, and even though he was haunted by some of his past, and there are definitely parts of himself that he doesn't like, he is a confident guy, which just makes him sexy. I liked how attentive he was to Anna, like he really paid attention to every little thing about her. I just really liked him, was able to connect to him easily, and because of that I wanted everything with him and Anna to work out, because I wanted him to be happy.

I did like the book, but I am giving it a three star rating because Anna didn't work for me nearly as much as I would have liked. That being said, I would still recommend this book to anyone who likes contemporary romance especially if you like her heroes with a little bit of bad boy in them.

From the moment Fake It opened in a bar with Anna doing her planning/worrying thing (which is typical Anna) about having a date for her friend’s wedding, I was hooked. Going to a wedding as a single lady can suck sometimes, but going as a single lady whose best friend has men waiting on the sidelines to be launched at you as set ups and a jerk of an ex who wants you back… that is about as uncomfortable as that situation can get.

Cue Jake Flynn.

The hot sexy motorcycle man of a neighbor to Anna. She has been walking by his house for 6 months checking him out and he has noticed both her and the checking of him out. :) He offers to be her date for the weekend and she can’t seem to talk him out of it, so off they go.

I loved this book. Anna is a complete and total workaholic and has her reasons for it. Jake is a go where the road leads you type of guy who just needs enough to get by. Their two personalities are like oil and water, uptight and carefree.

I know a lot of people are into MC books right now, and while I love those stories, the men in it are a little too rough for me to be swooning over. Jake is the type of motorcycle man that I can swoon over. He isn’t rude, doesn’t call women names, he isn’t a perfect gentleman either, to me though he was the perfect character for this book.

Their chemistry is undeniable and these two have some sweet and sexy hot scenes together.

I loved it.

I think this one will be the first one in a long time to go on my perfect romance shelf. There is a rhyme and reason behind why a book gets put on that shelf. To me a perfect romance is one that gives me the feelings I had when I first started reading my grandma’s Harlequin romances at around 10. (She kept the steamy ones hidden from me, I got the ones that didn’t have the hot sexy scenes. I stumbled upon the stack of steamier ones when I was 12 or so. :) ) Those books always made me feel good, happy, I didn’t want to put them down until I turned that last page, and they always left me sighing. They never were too heavy on the hard emotional stuff (though I do love my run your emotions through the gamut, almost impossible to read books) and the men seemed perfect, even with their flaws, their women came first. When I read a book that gives me that feeling, it goes on my shelf, and Fake It did it for me.

Thank you so much for copy of Fake It! Now I need to go back and read Rock It so that I am completely caught up on the series by the time Want It comes out in November.

4 Stars!!!
5 Flames for hotness

I loved this hot little number. Jake was a hottie. And Anna was a pain in the butt. The angst in this book got me going. UGH! I wanted to yell at Anna to wake the heck up. Jake was a little on the up and down side as well. When they finally let the magic happen it was explosive.

Anna sends us on an emotional roller coaster ride. She is constantly worrying and I felt myself worry with her. Jake was super cool and knew Anna was strung tight but he put up with her anyway. Jake knew what Anna needed and in the end it was what they both needed. (I am trying to be vague so I don’t give anything away) Jake and Anna have a little trouble from Todd, Anna’s ex-boyfriend but it did not distract from their story too much.

I will say the jellyfish scene was so steaming hot I will not be forgetting about it anytime soon. WOW! Jennifer can write some steam and her story flowed great. I enjoyed the first book in this series “Rock It” and we get to see most of the characters from this book a few times.

Why 4 star’s you ask? I was a little disappointed in the ending. It was very abrupt and I would have liked a little more of the bike experience or just more from Jake and Anna period. An epilogue would have been great. Other than this little hang-up for me it was a great book.

This book can be read as a stand-alone but in order to understand Anna and the other characters read the first installment of the series “Rock It”.

I would definitely recommend this book. I will be reading the next book in the series. Jennifer has gained a new fan!

My Favorite Quotes:

“I’m here because I want to be. Because I’ve spent the last six months watching you walk by my door, and wondering what it would be like to kiss you. To taste you skin, feel your hair.” – Jake

Imagine me filling you up, hard and tight against you, touching you right here, just like this, buried inside you, making you mine – Jake

Being with you this past week has been the best thing to happen to me in longer than I can remember. I’m already half in love with you. Say yes and I’ll fall all the way. – Jake

He held her firmly – not as if she might break, but as if he wanted to raiser her up, to put her closer to the sun and stars.
