Lynn Cahoon is the most prolific mystery writers out there, and with the 6th full novella/novel in the Kitchen Witch Mysteries, things are coming together quite well. Mia's ex comes back to haunt her, but it helps set direction for her future relationship with Trent. Levi and Christina take a step forward, and we learn a lot more about the larger coven. Toss in a beauty pageant where the contestants and their mothers all have secrets to hide and cause quite a stir about town. Thankfully, Mia's boss is dealt with so we can have one less drama (tho he did create a few good side stories). Great installment!

Over the years I've read several of the Kitchen Witch Mysteries by Lynn Cahool, so I was glad to pick up another one. These are always fun!

Description:
New York Times bestselling author Lynn Cahoon continues her enchanting Kitchen Witch Mystery series featuring everyone’s favorite, spellbinding kitchen witch Mia Malone. In a triumph for Mia’s catering business and cooking school, Mia’s Morsels is chosen to host a fall festival event in their Idaho mountain town—which means managing a bunch of stage moms and their social-media obsessed daughters as they get ready for the big beauty contest. There’s a lot riding on the results of the Harvest Moon Festival—it’s where the local coven leader is chosen for the following year. But after one contestant is found in a compromising position with a judge, and another drops out when her mother is killed in a freak hiking accident, the coven suspects magical meddling. With a week to go before the coronation of the new queen, Mia must draw on her sleuthing powers to find out what’s going on—and whether this competition has gotten a little too cutthroat . .

My Thoughts:
All the fun characters are back in Magic Springs, Idaho. I really enjoy spending time with them. That coven is just scary in the lengths they go to in order to get a seat on the coven leadership. Each member who has a daughter seems to be going to extremes to make sure it's their own daughter who is chosen as the winner, despite the ban on using magic to influence the contest. And then there's a murder.

Also, there are some other things going on in at the same time. Mia is still having issues with her boss, Frank. Mia's ex-boyfriend turns up and causes problems. Christine is having security issues.
Trent gets a companion. Grans is working on a major issue. (I really like Grans as a character - she's fun). I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes cozy mysteries with a paranormal feature.

As I started to read #SixStunningSirens #NetGalley, I knew I was going to be in for a wild adventure.
Mia is a fun, lovable character, and I knew that I was going to love this book.
Mia owns Mia's Morsels, a catering business that she is determined to make a huge success. Unfortunately, Mia still needs her job as catering director for the lodge, after all, she still has bills to pay.
Her boss makes life difficult for her, but Mia sees through him and makes all her events memorable.
When her own business wins the contract to host the Magic Springs Harvest Festival, Mia has her hands full. One parent will do anything to have her daughter be crowned queen, and it's up to Mia to figure it out.
This is my favorite book in the series so far, it captured my attention from the beginning and I couldn't put it down.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Wow, Mia has her hands full! Our favorite Kitchen Witch has way too many irons in the fire! Her boss at the Lodge, Frank is on the war path, trying to set her up to fail by not tell her about events until three days before they are scheduled, after Mia's Morsels, being managed by Abigail steals a big event from the Lodge. While Mia's excited that her catering business has a big job, she's not sure she wants to be involved in the Fall Harvest Beauty Pageant, this event has a history of nasty consequences as part of the prize is a position on the powerful coven council and means many magical shenanigans. Mia's right hand and little "sister" Christina has graduated from culinary school and is ready to move on, and Mia's grandmother is up to something big. When bodies start falling, you know it will take everything Mia has, to hold it all together, stop the carnage, and keep everyone she cares about safe! Come along if you dare! Thanks to #Netgally, #Kensingtonbooks, and the author for a chance to read. #SixStunningSirens #LynnCahoon #KitchenWitchMysteries #bookreview #bookideas #retiredreader

Lynn Cahoon's Six Stunning Sirens is about Mia struggling to make her grumpy boss (who sabotages her at every chance) happy while also trying to help put out the Harvest Moon Festival events with her small business, Mia's Morsels. Everything is going according to plan, or as according to plan as a festival of witches and wizards can go, until someone's magic bounces back and kills them. Mia must find out who has been using magic to tamper with the events before someone else ends up dead.

I really liked Six Stunning Sirens! I thought it was really fun for the fall season. I'm starting to get into spooky season books and holiday books and this one came at the perfect time. I really like Lynn Cahoon's writing here, I thought the whole thing was charming. My favorite part was that I did not figure out what was going on until it was happening in the page, all my guesses were wrong. While I really enjoyed the book, it took me a few days to finish which means it was more of a leisure read than needing to know what happens next, that's why I gave it 4 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington Publishing | Kensington Cozies, and Lynn Cahoon for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

"Six Stunning Sirens" the 6th instalment in the "Kitchen Witch" Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon which releases September 24, 2024

Mia Malone is looking forward to catering the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant, part of the local coven’s big autumn celebration—until death puts a chill in the air . . .

I love visiting Magic Springs, Idaho and catching up with Mia, Grans, Christina and Abigail. This time it’s the Harvest Moon Festival and a coven beauty contest that Mia and the gang are hosting , what could go wrong…

I adore Trent’s familiar, a cute little Maltese Cerby and the things he was getting up too. Can’t wait to see what Cerby gets up to in the next book as they learn to raise a hellhound…

I found the mystery very interesting as well as entertaining, full of twists and turns that kept me guessing till the very end. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Mia and Mia’s Morsels in book 7.

I highly recommend this series to all my cozy loving friends.

Another excellent book added to this series! I love this series and this author. The bigger picture story lines in this series always have me coming back to see what is going to happen. The mystery in this book was a good one, I really didn’t know who did it until the end. I highly recommend this series and this author. Can’t wait for another one.

Magic Springs is brimming with magical activity as the annual Harvest Queen Contest is about to start, but not all the magic is positive and sweet. A wonderfully woven plot that is fun, complex and entertaining! Several story lines are woven together to make one extremely well written plot and compelling story! If you haven't read the entire series, I really recommend that you start at the beginning as each book builds another layer to the main characters' personalities and creates back story that will be more impactful if you are in the know during this book! I love a good well written cozy mystery and this book definitely delivers that! I'm only sad that I am now waiting for the author to create the next story in the series so I can find out what is happening next for the characters in this wonderful magical town!

My heart leapt into my throat when I finished this because I thought the series might be over, and this was my favorite of all the books so far. I checked and thankfully it isn’t. This latest is so much fun, and we learn more about everyone’s past, more about the citizens of the town, the coven, and just so much more. All the while, poor Mia is trying to run her business, run the Lodge’s business, and solve the latest in murderous mishaps. I just love all the characters, and I hope there are many more stories. Oh, why did I think this series might be over? Read this and find out! A wonderfully well-written addition to the series; can’t wait for more! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

We are back in Magic Springs, Idaho with Mia Malone. Mia morsels was chosen to host the Harvest Queen Festival for the magical community. There's been a history of drama and casualties. Mia is again busy working at the Lodge and dealing with Frank drama. When a dead body is found at the school. Mia must find the culprit and find out if the death was magical or human related.

I really enjoyed the mystery and following clues with Mia. I love the paranormal aspect of the book and learning more about the magical community. The writing is fantastic and hooked me right away. A perfect read for the Autumn season.

If I ever run into a hell-hound, I hope it's Trent's Cerby. What a clever and mischievous character. I have an idea we're going to learn lots about training a hell-hound as Cerby matures and the series continues. If nothing else, Cerby has certainly shattered my preconceived notion of what a hell-hound might look like.

In any case, on to the mystery. Mia isn't sure whether to be happy or not that her catering business has won the bid to cater the coven's annual Harbor Moon Festival's beauty contest. "Coven?" you say? Oh, didn't I mention that Mia is a kitchen witch? The whole town, in fact, may have as many witches as mere mortals. The winning contestant not only wins a money prize but the family wins status within the coven. That is apparently worth meddling with to win. When one mother dies, the question arises of whether it's murder, natural, or maybe magical mayhem. Who's trying to gain an advantage for their child? Or is it even contest related? Mia's already mega-busy dealing with her difficult boss at the Lodge where she's working to support her dream business, Mia's Morsels, not to mention difficult stage mothers, a friend's romantic troubles, hell-hound antics, and, oh, yeah, a cat familiar who seems to be possessed by a cursed soul. You know. Just your average day in witch-dom. In the process, she's trying to sort out where her own relationship with Trent is and where it might be heading. Never mind that his mother is her business manager and currently staying on site for reasons the book will divulge.

Enough teasers. I adore these characters, witchy ones and human, especially Grans. Mia's relationship with and concern for all tells you much about her caring personality. True, the situations we find them in are often not the norm but, hey, if you're fact checking a witchy cozy mystery, you surely have better things to do. Grin. They're all family, including the pets. As Abigail said early on, to paraphrase, family is what you make when the one you're born into isn't quite enough. Thanks #KensingtonPublishing -#KensingtonCozies for inviting me to take a sneak peek at the Harvest Moon Festival and Mia's hectic, never dull life. I am looking forward to the next book already given that final teaser. And, hey, love those recipes. Gotta love comfort food.

Six Stunning Sirens by Lynn Cahoon is a Kitchen Witch story. Fun, for all. And now Mia’s Morsels is hosting the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant. They had won the bid over the Lodge, despite the fact fact that their vid was higher. Seems the Coven was worried about some of the “problems” the pageant had had the last few years and thought it could be better contained at the old school house. That meant Trent and Levi would have to build a runway in the back, though. Couldn’t have those spike heels sinking into the grass! Frank was doing everything he could to make her life miserable at the Lodge, where she had taken a full-time job as event coordinator to help pay the bills at the school house. She wan’t giving in, though. She would quit when she was ready. Hopefully she could hold out. Levi andChristina were fighting, which was never fun, but so were Trent’s parents. In fact his mother had moved into the school house with Mia. His father was a judge for the pageant and she was worried for him. He wouldn’t budge. She and Trent were fine, even though Isaac had made a last minute trip (days before his wedding) to Magic Springs to convince Mia to take hime back.

Mia is a fabulous character as are all of her friends. She comes to magic hesitantly, but respectfully. She has seen both good and bad and although her mother wanted nothing to do with it, she was coming around. Trent was the perfect boyfriend. Thoughtful, kind, giving. Lynn Cahoon has created a bevy of interesting and clever folks to round out this fun series. The mystery is a good one, rooted in magic, but easily solvable without resorting to magic, which make the local cop happy. Rooted in the past, as so many are. It is just, flat out, a good time.

Six Stunning Swans, the latest book in Lynn Cahoon’s Kitchen Witch series, is an excellent entry. Mia Malone is working a job she hates, mostly because of her truly despicable boss who goes out of his way to make her job and her life untenable. While she is working full time at The Lodge to cover her mortgage, her boyfriend Trent’s mother is running Mia’s Morsels. This presents an interesting angle in that Mia is the owner, but Abigail is currently the manager. The “six swans” referred to in the title are six contestants in a local, coven based beauty contest. Mia is indeed a kitchen witch and nearly all the characters are magical, as well. I’m not someone who normally reads paranormal books, but this series has grabbed and held my attention, mostly because the characters are human first, witches second. There is a murder and attempted murders and there are many suspects, which adds to the fun. One thing I truly love about this series is that the characters and their lives continue to evolve. So many other series that I read don’t do that and suffer as a result. I truly enjoyed this book and buzzed through it in just a couple of days. Lynn Cahoon has become one of my go-to writers because I know I will enjoy any books she writes. I highly recommend this book but do think the reader should read the previous entries in the series first. Four and a half stars.

This delightful series is enchanting and such fun to read. This is the Sixth in series in the Kitchen Witch Mystery Series. This was a charming and exciting addition to the series by cozy author Lyn Cahoon. Thank you to the author,Net Galley and to the publisher for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own.

In this excitng next in series our savvy protagnist is hosting a unique Fall theme beauty contest for daughters of the coven. When a murder occurs of one of the Mothers everyone is under suspicion. In addtion Mia is learning her powers and craft from her Grandmother that are not working and someone is attacking the cooking school with magic. Add in a new familiar in the form of a adorable small dog for Trent who adds humor and antics and everyone is on edge. Cats are added to the crew and much fun is going on while the cooking school is busy with orders for delivery and preparation for the contest. Mia and Trent are the perfect couple supporting each other. I love all the characters and how the author writes them all with such depth and fun.

This was one of the best cozy mysteries I have ever read. It was hysterically funny, engaging and a joy to read. I love the authors writing style as the well crafted characters are all a great addition to the series. Well done to the author. I cannot wait for the next in series. I read all her books cover to cover and love everything she writes. This is a outstanding paranormal series !

Mia Malone is working two jobs to keep her dream of running her own business alive. Her catering company and cooking school needs help to get established, and so she is also working at The Lodge, in Magic Springs, for the foreseeable future even if her boss there is driving her nuts!

Boyfriend Trent's mom, Abigail, is running Mia’s Morsels for her and has just won them the contract for the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant, which is hosted by the local coven and, as Mia is about to discover for herself, attracts problems every year. When the body of one of the mom's is found, Mia reluctantly begins an investigation knowing that the beauty queen business is anything but beautiful!

Book six in this great series didn't quite work for me. I liked the premise and the main protagonists were as good as always with Trent and Levi's relationships with Mia and Christina really fun to read about but there were also parts which were too stereotypical and formulaic which spoilt it a little. That said, there are hints of forthcoming events that I hope I will get to read about before too long.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, Kensington Publishing and Kensington Cozies, but the opinions expressed are my own. Although I enjoyed this, it didn't quite reach the series normal heights. 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars.

The sixth Kitchen Witch mystery doesn’t disappoint as we journey with Mia and the gang through the world of pageantry witch style!

Mia is still working hard to keep Mia’s Morsels afloat by working at the Lodge as the event coordinator while Abigail Majors her boyfriend’s mom and Christina run the company for her.
Fall is fast approaching and after winning the coven pageantry contract Mia is taking a week off from the Lodge to help get everything ready. It's all hands on deck, with difficult parents and hijinks abounding!

I understand and enjoy the alliteration of the title. After reading the book… the sirens portion throws me off. I took it to mean that we would be dealing with a new kind of witch. Totally not the case! We have a bunch of vain moms who are willing to maim and even it turns out...
kill to help their little precious win. Christina’s brother finally gets married and announcements abound! I feel like this is a very pivotal book in the series and should not be missed.

Not much looking back in this book, the mystery is completely contained within this book making it an easy and enjoyable read for the new and old readers alike. I look forward to reading book seven, which seems untitled now.

I’ve read a few books by the author. I really love her cozy mysteries. This is the second book I’ve read in this series. I love witch mysteries! The Idaho setting definitely seems perfect for autumn activities. I thought the characters were really fun. I loved the mystery. I definitely need to check out other books in the series!

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy witch mysteries!

SIX STUNNING SIRENS is the sixth book in the Kitchen Witch Mysteries by Lynn Cahoon. While this can be read as a standalone, the characters and the story arc of their personal discoveries, skill development, and relationships makes it worthwhile to start from the beginning. Ms. Cahoon’s expertise at crafting well-plotted mysteries with memorable characters keeps readers coming back for more and this newest release is no exception. Protagonist Mia Malone is one of those caring women who takes friends and coworkers under her wing to nurture, protect, and feed. Not only does she work a full-time demanding job for a local resort, but she’s also the owner of Mia’s Morsels, a catering company. Finding herself amid hosting the Harvest Moon Festival, along with its signature beauty pageant, Mia has her hands full, especially when magic seems to take out some of the contestants’ mothers. Her investigation into the murder(s) is methodical, and she hunts down the clues with the help of her friends and grandmother. There are several suspects to choose from, along with other magical mysteries to keep the reader turning pages. I’m looking forward to finding out what’s next for Mia and the gang!

I adore the Kitchen Witch Mystery series and Six Stunning Sirens, the sixth book in the series, is now my favorite. Among the many things I enjoyed about the book is that we got to see a lot more interaction between Mia and Trent. Even though mysteries are my favorite genre, it is the characters that matter the most to me and I adore all of the central characters here including the familiars. I love that Trent's familiar is a Maltese adored by everyone even if he is a hellhound. I had no idea what to expect from this book since Mia's Morsels was catering a pageant put on by the local coven, but I knew it would be different than any pageant book I had encounter before. The lack of reaction to the murders surprised me at first, but it seems that deaths in connection with the contest have not been unusual in the past although the coven is trying to get away from that. The method of death isn't something you are likely to have encountered in your typical mysteries. All round it was a delightful and mostly fun read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for allowing me to read and review Six Stunning Sirens, another winner in the Kitchen Witch Mysteries series.

Six Stunning Sirens is the 6th book in Lynn Cahoon's fun Kitchen Witch Mysteries series. The characters are very likable and the cozy mystery kept me guessing. Mia Malone owns Mia's Morsels, a catering business but she also works at The Lodge planning events. Mia's friends Abigail and Christina are running Mia's Morsels. They get the contract to host the Harvest Moon Festival including a teen beauty pageant. It is important to the contestants and their families because there is a scholarship and a position with the local witch coven. One of the parents ends up dead at Mia's school and magic is involved. Mia's sleuthing group, the Magic Springs Sleuthing Club, consists of her boyfriend Trent, Abigail, Abigail's husband Thomas, Christina, Christina's boyfriend Levi, and Mia's grandmother Grams. They are all wonderful characters and make this series so enjoyable! There are some changes happening with the group so don't miss this book! I really enjoyed this book and.series and I am looking forward to the next book. Mia is a kitchen witch, living in Magic Springs, Idaho where many residents are magical. She owns Mia’s Morsels, a catering business, but has to work at the local resort under a horrible boss who is out to get her. Her company wins the contract for the Harvest Festival beauty pageant (run by the local coven) and Mia finds out that beauty pageants can be dangerous! One mom is out to have her daughter win at any cost. When a contestant’s mom dies and another becomes sick, Mia and her group work to ensure the safety of all and find the culprit.
The story has great characters. Mia and her friend are in love with brothers and their potential mother-in-law already considers them her daughters. Mia’s boyfriend, Trent, has the cutest familiar ever…a werewolf in the form of a Maltese! The mystery was clever and I didn’t guess who was guilty of using her magic to win her daughter the contest and it was a fun read.

I love this series, especially because it doesn’t dance around the magical aspects but rather embraces them. This one we get delightful autumn imagery & a beauty contest gone wrong. It also has one of the best supporting cast of characters for the lead. I like when they’re helpful in the sleuthing & these ones are. The mystery gets interesting really fast, as you realize it’s involved with the coven’s politics & the need for people to want to win badly. We also get a a lot dealing with Mia’s romantic life, both past & present. And Christina’s love life too. After six books I think we’re going to be transitioning in those areas in the upcoming novels. I loved this book! This is one of my current favourite cozy series, each one I’ve enjoyed & it only seems to get better each one. I’m looking forward to the future.

This is the sixth in the Kitchen Witch Series written by Lynn Cahoon. This is a standalone book but I enjoyed reading them in order so I can see the personal growth arc of the characters.

The Harvest Festival is hosted at Mia’s Morsels to the chagrin of Mia’s boss at the lodge. Little does he know the lodge was never going to win that contract from the coven. Throw in some magic gone awry, a few mothers dying or being injured and you have a recipe for disaster. Mia still needs her job at the lodge to keep her business afloat.

I enjoyed that Grans, Mia, Abigail and her family pull together to make the Harvest Festival happen and to try to figure out how to keep everyone safe.
The denouement provides some twists I did not see coming.

This is a great read!

Mia’s Morsels got the catering job for the Harvest Festival pageant and there couldn’t’ve been more drama if it’d been special-ordered. When a contestant’s mom was killed, Mia had to wonder if there was magic afoot and just what someone might do to ensure their own daughter won.

There were some good side stories too which were pretty fun. Everything ended with the fellowship of the Sleuthing Club in Mia’s kitchen along with some more good news. There wasn’t anything happening to worry about at the end, just a nice ending. I really hope there’ll be more books because now I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Mia’s Morsels wins the contract to host the Harvest Queen Contest hosted by the local coven, which irritates her boss at the Lodge since they usually cater the event. Mia balances stabilizing her catering business while working as the catering director for The Lodge to cover the expenses of building her business.

Unfortunately, plans for the contest go awry, and one of the contestants’ moms is found dead. Mia starts investigating the competition's history and then another stage mother is hospitalized.

When Mr. Darcy (Mia’s feline sleuth) finds potion bags around Mia’s property, she thinks magic is behind the recent death and hospitalization. Lynn Cahoon writes an intriguing cozy mystery for her sixth entry in the Kitchen Witch series.

Six Stunning Sirens is book #6 in the Kitchen Witch Mysteries series by Lynn Cahoon.

Mia Malone is a kitchen witch. She has a catering business as well as working;g at the Lodge to help make ends meet. She has her hands full with an obnoxious boss at the Lodge, catering the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant which literally turns into a killer competition, and family chaos. Mia’s friends and family are wonderful characters. This was a challenging mystery. Thank goodness for the little hellhound or things could have been much worse. I wasn’t expecting the ending. This was a great book and series.

Mia, a kitchen witch lives in Magic Springs, Idaho. She's excited to be catering the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant with her catering business and cooking school, Mia’s Morsels.
When a pageant mom is found dead, and another is hospitalized she must try to solve this mystery in time for a new queen to be chosen. Is magic in use here and can the coven solve this in time before another disaster strikes? Lots of twists and turns that had me guessing right til the end.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

Mia is busy juggling both her jobs and then her catering company becomes the host for the annual Magic Springs Queen contest. The contest provides a lot of distraction and crazy magic situations. When one parent is killed and another is spelled, Mia has her hands full figuring out what is going on. This book is filled with many pieces of stories, but in the end they do tie together. I enjoyed the book and felt like some situations were resolved so that the characters could move on with their lives. It will be interesting to see where this series goes from here.
I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for a review.

This book was a lot of fun to read, as are all the books in the Kitchen Witch series. It's been lovely to watch Mia expand and grow her business, her relationship with Trent deepen and adding to their animal menagerie.

The beauty pageant featured in this book sounds like a nightmare and that's even before you add a Witch coven and those horrible stage mothers besides. Cerby the hell hound is turning out to be quite the asset in the investigation group.

As always a charming read from one of my favorite mystery authors. My thanks to Kensington Cozies and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

_______________COMING SEPTEMBER 24,2024___________________

Lynn Cahoon writes a paranormal cozy series like no other. #SixStunningSirens #NetGalley is the sixth in the delightful Kitchen Witch series--the best one yet, and that is saying something since they are all excellent reads.
It is time for the Harvest Moon Festival and the coven beauty contest in Magic Springs, Idaho, the most important event that Mia has catered. Mia has no idea how challenging the event can when the "stage" witch moms vie for their daughter to win the contest and the chance for power. What follows is a bumpy ride for the contestants, and our favorite characters.
I know I am in for an enjoyable read with each book in this series. I am looking forward to the next book and more of Mia, Tim, and crew. Other cozy readers are sure to love this series, too.

Thank you to #NetGalley #Kensinton #LynnCahoon for answering my request to read the Advance Reader Copy.
