His for the Taking

Rate this book
I was arranged to marry a monster—the heir to the Italian mafia throne.

I didn’t want him, but he’d take what he wanted from me, regardless.

It wasn’t just for better or worse.

He was also my first cousin

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 Stars
🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 Spice

I do not condone this pairing in real life. This is a DARK story, and I would not call it a romance.

Triggers: Humiliation, Domination, Blood Related Taboo, Spanking, NonCon, Unhinged Family, Obsessive MMC, Virgin FMC, Exhabitionism, Voyeurism, Blood, touch her and ☠️, peens going where they shouldn’t be going, unredeemable men/actions, etc.

If you are looking for a book where they live happily ever after, or even for the main characters to fall in love then this is not the story for you. Dark, twisted, and disturbing are just a few words that could be used to describe this book. Most would probably consider this a pitch black read, not a morally grey, or even a morally black read. Frankly there is no morality at all in this story. Please take the trigger warning seriously, your mental health matters.

Spoilers:

At points in the book the mmc seems to start having some feelings towards the fmc other than hate and lust but it’s gone each time in the blink of an eye. The way that this book ends makes me think that there could be the possibility of a full length novel at some point in the future. If there is I’d be very interested to see where we go from here. I enjoyed the way this book was written, and it certainly invoked some feelings. I can’t wait to see what other books come from Jenika Snows After Dark Taboo series.

This was dark and a bit disturbing, so if that's not your jam, don't read. This is a short story/novella so there's not a lot as far as character development. We know that the Male lead is the son of a Italian mafia family and about to take the reigns, but he needs to get married so he can have an heir of his own to continue the family name/business. Thus the arranged marriage, which to his surprise is his cousin (whom he has never met.) A cousin, whose mother was cut out from the family due to her relationship with a Russian mobster. The Female lead, has known what her duty is for all her life. Be the submissive wife. She may not like it, but she accepts her fate. And her betrothed shows her no mercy. He's cruel and has no desire to please her. His pleasure is all that matters. She can't tell him no, so he takes what he wants without permission. There was some, in my opinion, unnecessary bloodshed. It was used to make the scene more depraved, but the way to get there felt wrong. (SPOILER: He kills one of his own men, for basically following his orders.) There is no HEA in this book. At points it was made to appear he might actually start to have developed feelings for her, but then in the blink of an eye, he's back to his cruel ways. It almost felt like this might be the beginning, and maybe there will be a full length book in the future. It was taken primarily from his POV. (There is just one short chapter from hers.) Definitely meant for mature readers. Take the trigger warnings seriously.

If you are looking for a "they lived happily ever after" or "he fell in love with her the moment he saw her, " this book is not for you. Rather, this book is the opposite. There is incest, humiliation, degradation, and rape. Nina and Antonio are first cousins and have been arranged to wed.

This is not a fairy tale.... 😜
There's no HEA and this is a VERY dark, taboo read.
Antonio and Nina are first cousins (even though they don't know each other) and are both from mafia families and are set to be married. Antonia is a cruel killer and if you are expecting him to fall in love with the beautiful Nina when he sees her, you are going to be disappointed. This is not that mafia romance story where the big bad mafia man is sweet and soft for his bride. The actual opposite. Read with caution.

Ok this is dark and definitely not for everyone. There is NO HEA. Antonio Luciano was next in line but needed an heir. His father and uncle know the perfect bride, Nina Mikhailov, his first cousin. I will say this is really hard core. When you read about Antonio and the brutal way he is, boy oh boy. Didn’t think that would happen. Not going to say what though. Man it was intense though. And of course we got a touch of a twist at the end. I had a feeling. Is it "to be continued?"

It was a very dark taboo book for sure. Antonio and Nina. She was forced to marry into a mafia crime family. He is brutal and a killer. Not to mention they are related. It was twisted and sick in all the right ways. I enjoyed this short taboo read.

Jenika has lost her damn mind 😅

There is a difference between dark romance and R+pe. This is the latter. The girl is terrified and screaming and in pain and Antonio couldnt care less.

The last 3 sentences are suppose to give us hope for love? And the degradation was horrible.

I just cant.

GIIIRL i left my jaw on the flor… potential five stars’ gone ‘cause as much as i enjoy reading dub-cons, this one’s a bit too much for my liking. but i’d still want to think that she can change him tho (i’m sorry)

This was just too short for this level of brutality. There were hints at potential future human emotions within the MMC but as it stands it's just one long noncon scene with no depth or connection with either character.

This book was unhinged! Antonio and Nina are cousins and forced to marry each other to form an alliance. Antonio is off his rocker and is BRUTAL towards Nina, the poor girl.
That said, this book is delightful 😎 and I hope we get a second part of this couple.

There's no HEA and this is incredibly fucked up but this is Jenika Snows darker, taboo pen name so you really should expect that before diving in.

I love a mafia arranged marriage. Although this one is taboo and has heavy triggers I’m hoping for a full length HEA in the future!

Oscura novela corta donde el odio es remplazado por la lujuria que rápidamente se conjuga con el amor verdadero…. Loca historia … descabellada.
