Charlie Reed spends his days avoiding responsibility and his nights looking for a good time. Unfortunately for Charlie, he has just turned thirty and is starting to wonder if it's time to change his ways. He gets a chance to change everything about his life when he meets Lane Frost, a man who has a lot of responsibilities, including raising a disabled son on his own. Charlie and Lane fall hard for each other, but Charlie is still not sure if he's ready for more than just a good time. Charlie is going to have to learn that life is all about taking responsibility and that love happens... whether you're ready or not.
What I liked best about this story was that it dealt with . . .
I don't think I was 100% on board with Charlie and Lane as a couple but Lane's devotion for his son actually made me think about adopting a child. I'm glad I read this series backwards because the third book Coming Around Again was the first one I read and my favorite.
I got hooked up on these series after reading the last book Coming Around Again, so I decided I need to read them all :)
I suppose some people would have problems with Charlie's attitude, but I could relate, because I feel the same way about responsibilities and kids, lol ) Sad, but true! So I could absolutely understand his fear and reservations about dealing with Lane's son. Lane is an absolute sweetheart and is as close to being a perfect person as possible, there's no two ways about it. But Charlie's struggles made him more... human, I guess, so I felt really proud of him at the end, when he (not without a good hard kick from his friends) manned up and accepted his role in Lane and Robert's lives.
