Accidentally Engaged

Rate this book
A hot neighbor and a future baby daddy? Yes please!

Hudson:
I know she secretly watches me from her window when I work out by my pool.
Behind her quirky, good girl facade, she can't help herself.
Especially when I give her the show of her life. No shorts.
It turns me on to think about what's going on in her tight jeans.

But I know I shouldn't.
It's not fitting for a single dad or a fertility doctor of my reputation.
Plus I need a nanny... last minute.
She's the only one who can help me out.

When I finally work up the nerve to ask her, she's out on the driveway arguing with her parents. Something about her having a fiancé?
Damn...
But then they're all looking at me.
And I'm suddenly accidentally fake engaged!?!

So I'll play her fiancé.
Be nice to her parents.
Kiss her in all the right places.

There's one catch.
She wants a treatment for a baby.
Hell yeah!
But I make my own rules.
So I'll get her pregnant... the traditional way.

This is a full-length standalone, fake engagement, accidental pregrancy, hot doctor romance in the Single Dad Billionaires series. Steam and spice and all things nice guaranteed!

I have to admit that this was not a story that I particularly enjoyed reading and I feel awful saying that about an author's book. First, the positives, the writing was done well with few mistakes but the absolute best thing about this entire book was Hudson's four year old son Jamey. He was shy, smart, adorable, and so loving, such a good little boy. Every part of the book that he was in just makes you smile and want to snuggle him ❤️ Ok, now the things that were not great. Hudson is a well to do fertility doctor and was left two years ago by his now ex wife, Jamey's mother and Hudson was seriously traumatized by this, deciding he would never open his heart to anything serious again. I am fine when characters have to work through issues but not when it takes up the whole book! This is where the problems begin, Hudson and Sophie spend nearly the entire book going back and forth in a really juvenile and cowardly way and it went on until the book was at 90%. Omg I have feelings for her/him. But I don't want to have feelings for her/him, how do I get rid of them. I have to stop seeing her/him. She/he can't possibly mean it. Then one would try to open themselves up and the other would pull away and then the same thing would happen in reverse, rinse and repeat for the whole book. The whole thing gets SO tiring and overdone and Hudson was not an Alpha male or emotionally attractive, he was a coward and actually really mean. What man says that having sex with you is a mistake while his cock is still in you?! Oh and the blurb is NOT accurate, it says this:
"There's one catch.
She wants a treatment for a baby.
Hell yeah!
But I make my own rules.
So I'll get her pregnant… the real way."
That part of the blurb is why I picked the book. I thought it would be a cute story where they fall in love and they actively and happily get pregnant together. Instead, Hudson is pissed and reacts angrily and is outraged when he finds out she is pregnant, then asking her if it is his....classy. Sophie was not much better, I hurt for her, reading about her fertility issues but it was kinda gross when she told Hudson that she had gone out and even hooked up with several random men, hoping to get pregnant, ummm STDs anyone?! Sophie's friend Lisa or whatever her name is was a totally unsupportive and judgemental "friend" and her parents were just the lovely * rolls eyes* Bible following stereotype where everyone who doesn't live how they do is going to hell. These two characters had zero chemistry, the sex scenes were really meh and their relationship felt SO forced. I think if Sophie did not get pregnant and Hudson's best friend Nathan had not continually pushed him to be with her, Hudson never would have stayed with her. I was not invested in their HEA, I really didn't care either way and had to push myself to finish the book. I wish I had spent my time reading something else to be honest. I cannot honestly recommend this book to anyone

❣️Single Dad
❣️Fake Engagement
❣️Adorable 4 year old
❣️Trigger: Fertility Issues
❣️ Open Door Mature scenes

Sophia has been trying to have a baby, but has fertility issues. Her parents are very religious and are pestering her about doing IVF without having a man or being married. She panics and tells her parents she’s engaged to Hudson. Her very sexy neighbor. He agrees to play along.

Hudson is a single dad to 4 year old Jamey, and is also fertility doctor. He was burned before by Jamey’s mom, and now has his heart guarded. Hudson agrees to help Sophia with the fake engagement, if she will agree to babysit for Jamey.

Sophia goes to her first fertility appointment and realizes that her doctor is none other than her sexy fake fiancé neighbor.

The story was good, there was some angst until they admitted their feelings. The side characters added to the story. My favorite was Nathan, Hudson’s best friend. He helps Hudson see what his future could look like, if let’s love in.

This had a bunch of my favorite tropes, fake dating, single dad, surprise baby. And it was done great.

MORE THAN ONE ACCIDENT HERE

It's a little improbable, I think, for a doctor and patient to start up a sexual relationship, but hey. This is romance. Neighbors, Hudson and Sophie sort of stumble into a hookup when she agrees to watch his adorable 4 yr old son, Jamey. Both are unaware that Sophie is already scheduled for an appointment with physician Hudson, a fertility specialist.

Sophie suffers from a condition that makes it difficult to conceive and she is ready to be a single parent. As with many romances, the moment someone mentions they can't get pregnant, that pretty much guarantees someone is going to get pregnant. Sure enough. Hudson must be magic. Sophie and Hudson navigate a new relationship and a surprise pregnancy.

This is a pleasant and sexy story light on the angst.

The spice in this book was great but the plot honestly makes no sense. A fertility doctor, who doesn’t want more kids, sleeping with his patient (yikes) who he knows is actively trying for a baby. He wants a relationship with her, but doesn’t want kids and wonders why things go wrong.

i give this three stars it would’ve been four if not for the miscommunication trope and it was dragged for so long like a good fifteen percent and it happened when it was 80% into the book like girl. i like the fmc and the kid thank you

I enjoyed reading the story 'Accidentally Engaged' by Mia Mara. This is the story of Sophia and Hudson. Sophia is desperately trying to have a baby even though she is not married and has a condition that makes it difficult to conceive so she has decided to try a fertility clinic. Hudson is the father of a four-year-old named Jamey who happens to live next door to Sophia. He is also a fertility doctor who works in the clinic that Sophia has decided to go to. Before Sophia knows that Huson is a fertility doctor, she had watched him working out by his pool. He had noticed her watching from her second-floor window so, in fun, he decided to give her a show and completely disrobed and offered her to join him. He laughed as she hurried away from the window. Shortly after, he happened to be on his driveway washing his car when Sophia was standing in her driveway arguing with her parents about wanting to have a baby out of wedlock. She marched over to Hudson, whispered to him to play along, and introduced him as her fiancé. So, imagine her surprise the next day as she is brought before the fertility doctor and finds out that it is Hudson. Hudson needs a babysitter for his son, and he knows that Sophia had taken care of children before she had started her design business from home so he offers to be her fake fiancé if she will take care of his son. He also happens to be intensely attracted to her. She is just as attracted to him as he is to her. She agrees to the fake engagement and so starts their story. It is interesting and the characters are very likable. Hudson has some issues to work through because Jamey's mother had suddenly walked out on her family a couple of years before without any prior evidence of anything wrong, so he has trouble letting himself feel any romantic feelings towards a woman so his feelings for Sophia start to confuse and worry him.

I binged the entire book in one sitting. It was just the right mix of humor, romance, and a frustration with the characters, plus a bit of sadness.

Sophie is easy going. Hudson is a good daddy. They mix really well and little Jamey is a precocious kid that we all want our kids to act like. Sophie isn’t a pushover and Hudson doesn’t think the world revolves around him just because he’s a doctor. That was surprising because at first glance, he seemed too good to be true. I liked that we get a brief backstory about the two main characters and while it wasn’t much, what we received actually feels like it’s enough.

I liked the two best friends as well. They don’t play a big role but they were good sounding boards that were needed as an outside perspective.

This is a shifting pov but the author doesn’t reiterate what happened in the last chapter from a different pov but shifts the pov and keeps the story moving. I appreciated that. It didn’t feel like I was double reading.

The surprises that popped up added to the excitement and humor and the oh no! of the storyline. The author worked in the unexpected characters very well and tied in the occupations of everyone too. Very little was mentioned about physical appearance other than hair and eye color, which was refreshing and goes against the style that billionaire books have. It lets the reader decide the esthetics.

It does bring up fertility issues, so to those with triggers, this is a warning.

Overall I’d definitely recommend this book. Five stars. Absolutely worth reading. Not overly sweet. Not real graphic. Not real extreme cursing. Cute kids, parents who aren’t overbearing but aren’t stand-offish either.

Not an InstaLove, for Sure !! . . .

** 3.5 Stars **
Sophie Mitchell wants to have a baby but has fertility issues that make it unlikely or very difficult. Hudson Brady, her neighbor, and his 4-year-old son, Jamey, live next door. Hudson is a fertility doctor, but Sophie doesn’t know that. She watches him out by his pool, so he strips to see her reaction. (Very professional, doc.) While outside washing his car, he heard Sophie arguing with her parents about wanting a baby even though not married. So Sophie walks over, grabs Hudson and whispers for him to play along, as she introduces him to her parents – as her fiancé! So when she goes to the clinic later for her fertility procedure, she is stunned that her doctor is Hudson! He trades his services for her agreement to be Jamey’s new nanny since the former nanny, Jenny, accepted a role on Broadway for a musical and immediately quit. And he tells himself he intends to “service” Sophie the old-fashioned way. (Again, a real professional…)

Hudson’s relationship issues make him hold back from any commitment to her. Sometimes he seems heartless toward her and has no problem insulting her. (I often wanted to punch him in the nose for his disrespect.) And he broke her heart when he told her this was a “mistake”. Will he ever change his mind about a relationship? Will she even be interested by then? Or will they somehow stumble into a HEA despite the mistakes they make along the way?

What started as an unplanned, fake engagement, turned into real love. I loved Sophie and Hudson but might love Jamey more! The chemistry between the MCs pulled me in hard and fast.

Hudson is a single father, hard worker, and decent guy who cannot catch a break. Wife left him and his son, and his nanny leaves him suddenly. Sophie wants nothing more than a baby that she doesn't think will ever happen due to health reasons. They watch each other from their yards and homes, but don't meet until Sophie lies and says they are engaged, not knowing his profession or that he has a son already. Sophie helps Hudson and Jamey in a bind, and in no time she and Hudson fall into bed.

Lots of twists and turns, frustrations, heartache, sadness, misunderstandings, and two MCs fighting whats growing between them until the unthinkable happens.

Loved the ending, the growth of characters. Quick and easy read, couldn't put it down. My only negative is that the blurb didn't quite fit the book, but it didn't leave me disappointed either. Would definitely read more from Mia Mara.

2 stars because the plot is weak; it staggers along solely based on miscommunication, which gets tedious. This author seems to reuse the fake engagement/miscommunication theme in most of her books. I finally skipped too many chapters of how they dance around their feelings to get to the end; just TALK, people. I liked the beginning; interesting characters and dilemma. Glad to see the theme around infertility issues. What makes me roll my eyes is how close their homes must be if he can see a freckle on her nipple through their adjoining windows (from his big house into her condo?). The never-ending plot is that Sophie desperately wants a baby, while Hudson, her neighbor and IVF doctor, is a big commitment phobe, doesn't want kids, is scared of relationship because of his ex but he just wants her, hence his conflict. She gets so many mixed messages from him that she doesn't dare trust him.

This is part of the Single Dad Billionaires Series, but can be read as a standalone. Hudson is a famous fertility doctor and a single dad. Sophie is his gorgeous next door neighbor that he knows watches him when he's out by his pool. A chance meeting with her interfering parents finds him accidentally fake engaged to her. It was a little unrealistic that a four-year-old was brought into the game of a pretend engagement. Their chemistry is explosive as their intimacy increases. They both have a hard time expressing their feelings, and his heart was closed and damaged from past baggage. The book was emotional and frustrating at times how grown people could be so scared of love. The characters were likable, and it was heartwarming to see what a great father Hudson was. Eventually a baby surprise and a happy ending. No cliffhanger. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Hudson and Sophie

They are neighbors. He’s the single dad and infertility doctor. She’s a seamstress who has been told she can only get pregnant through ivf. She finds out he is her doctor. They both have the hots for each other. Some super steamy scenes 🔥🔥🔥🔥. They breakup when she starts getting feelings and all he want is nothing serious. He actually says during the deed that it was a mistake. She realizes she is pregnant and cancels her appointments.

He comes begging for forgiveness - he regrets what he said. He wants to be in his child’s life and he realizes he loves her. He takes her on a romantic date on his yacht and proposes. She says yes.

Hea wedding after baby girl

Hudson and sophie

Sophie a strong independent women was over men and all she wanted was a baby. Sophie has tried and failed multiple times. She decided to go the IVF route. Little did Sophie know her doctor would be no other than her next door neighbor.

Hudson single father to Jamey has sworn off women ever since his ex wife left him and there son. Hudson didn't want to get hurt again. With his babysitter up and Quitting he needed a new nanny for Jamey. when he finds out that Sophie use to babysit he asks her. Little does he know Sophie has secrets.

Overall this book is a 4 star. Starts off slower than I personally like but it's still a great read.

This book had a great storyline and the characters are great separately. The character Sophia and Hudson had their own issues that they had to work through. I think that they each helped each other out. Only it was a bit long winded, I want to be with her/him but I don’t think I can trust etc. They spent nights together and then they both would regret it. It didn’t get a bit boring or this back and forth. Little Jamey was a great little boy, full of energy and was such a good kid. Was alright.

I finished this book in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. The story is about a girl who is living next door to a fertility doctor and she's in a pickle with her parents and on the rescue is Hudson. So he plays the game but he didn't expect her to ask for a fertility treatment. This is such a fantasy right? He does want to help her, the old fashioned way. I enjoyed reading this book and will check out other books in this series.

With what is going on in the world and politics today, this story is a reminder that life is important and there are alternatives ways in which a woman wanting a child can have one. She didn’t have to use it this time. Love is what it is and hard to fight when you’re found it. Two hearts becoming one with a boy and a girl (rich man’s family as my grand mother would say). Hats off to the author keep writing story that gives us hope for a brighter day and future,

I started and finished this one on Friday. It was an add on Facebook and I loved the blurb! It was super cute!

✨fake engagement
✨ close proximity
✨ single dad
✨ accidental pregnancy

Seriously, this one should be a Hallmark Movie! I loved Sophia and Hudson’s story! Sophia wants to have a baby through IVF,her mega religious parents don’t approve because she isn’t married. She becomes accidentally engaged to Hudson her next door neighbor. She goes to her fertility doctor and guess who it was?

I won’t give it all away but it was such a cute story with some nice spice.

Sometimes you wish for less, but ends up with more than you ever dared to wish for.
I’m not saying that it happens often, maybe to selldom.
In Sophia and Hudson’s case, they get it all. They took their time and there were obstacles on their way. But finally they got it all.

Love Conquers All

I loved this story! It was so well written, suspenseful, imaginative, and wonderfully erotic. The possibility that these two wouldn't eventually get together was never in doubt. I just couldn't figure out how it would happen. They made it so difficult, with their doubts. Finally, love conquers all! Immensely pleased! Enjoy!

This book caused me to have to sacrifice sleep and meals, I just could not put it down! Niagara writes books that have well developed characters and lots of in depth details. I enjoyed this one and love that there is no cheating or anything that makes the reader angry or frustrated! Sweet love story.

When sparks fly between neighbors Hudson and Sophie, more than just an attraction in on the line. Especially when she becomes the nanny to his young son and he becomes her fertility doctor. When passion ignites the two are left with way more than just lust, but each gets exactly what they wanted. Filled with laughter and love this was a great read.
