A competitive diver and an ace swimmer jump into forbidden waters in this steamy college romance from the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis.
Scarlett Vandermeer is swimming upstream. A Junior at Stanford and a student-athlete who specializes in platform diving, Scarlett prefers to keep her head down, concentrating on getting into med school and on recovering from the injury that almost ended her career. She has no time for relationships—at least, that’s what she tells herself.
Swim captain, world champion, all-around aquatics golden boy, Lukas Blomqvist thrives on discipline. It’s how he wins gold medals and breaks records: complete focus, with every stroke. On the surface, Lukas and Scarlett have nothing in common. Until a well-guarded secret slips out, and everything changes.
So they start an arrangement. And as the pressure leading to the Olympics heats up, so does their relationship. It was supposed to be just a temporary, mutually satisfying fling. But when staying away from Lukas becomes impossible, Scarlett realizes that her heart might be treading into dangerous water...
I'm Ali, and I write contemporary romcom novels about women in STEM and academia. I love cats, Nutella, and side ponytails. I'm also currently learning to crochet, so as you can tell I'm a super busy gal with an intense and exciting life!
I only use Goodreads as a reader, to review and hype books that I've loved (many of these book are ARCs received from fellow authors).
The cover is actually so pretty 🤩 ____ I love how Ali Hazelwood changes her genres. Stem romance--->Chess romance--->Paranormal romance---> Sports romance---> what else? 👀
Ali Hazelwood giving BIRTH to a sports romance ?!👀😫 .. Ha, remove your dirty fingers guys. just know that I will be the first aunty to hold this book of a baby 😝
Ali if you are reading this which I hope you aren't I hope labor is going well 🤟
Update: I'm glad that the title of this book is changed, but now I'm not sure about this cover. It's certainly not matching with her other books, or maybe I love illustrated couples on books that's why I'm not vibing with this one yet. _____________________________ A competitive diver and an ace swimmer jump into forbidden waters in this steamy college romance from the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis.
YESSS!!!! A NEW ALI HAZELWOOD BOOK! And it's a sport romance this time, love that she's exploring new genres, and I love how most of her books represent every sorts of ace characters.
6/22: thankfully the title was changed, and that cover is definitely something 😭 I respect how many books Ali Hazelwood is putting out, there's just one after the other and I love it
also I swear ali hazelwood has an archive of books just ready to go, because how does she keep pumping out new books like crazy? even though I am not really a fan, that is so impressive? like?
also the genre switches are insaneee, from her usual stem romance, to whatever the hell bride was 💀 and to sports romances like check & mate and this one. and not to be an ali hazelwood fan (god forbid😭😭) but check & mate was honestly one of the books that I actually liked by her, only because of nolan sawyer.... and since this is also a sports romance (yes I'm counting chess as a sport, whatever), maybe this might be... sort of.. good??? LMAOOO maybe I'm delusional 😜
as a die hard fan and an ever loving supporter of ali hazelwood, i beg, hope, and pray that she releases these two versions of the cover: one with the title “deep end,” the other one with the title “whet.” i don’t think i’m asking for too much and whoever made her change her mind about whet should got to jail. whet, you’ll always be famous. <3
