He is a fey prince. A ruler of the race that conquered Earth.I’m a leader of the Resistance.

There can never be anything between us.

I’m lucky he didn’t kill me when he caught me snooping around the palace, but then again, Prince Mabon Y Mabinogi is unlike anyone I’ve ever met.

His decisions don’t make sense.

He is beautiful.

Demanding.

Loud and dramatic.

He loves sparkly things and pretty things.

And keeping me as his pet.

I’ll play along for now. For the sake of the Resistance and the intelligence I can gather.

But as soon as I can escape his bed, I’m gone.

Tropes: captive/captor, forced proximity, paranormal romance
Feels: 1.5/5
Steam*: 3/5
Kinks: piercings, all the sex
Angst: low
HEA: yes
Pairing: MM
Triggers/potential icks/content warnings: cheating between MCs, rape, dubcon, near death experience

2 stars.

... That's it. I read the first two books in this series, I'm out. This pervasive theme of rape / forced sex among the fey is too much for me. And the writer seems to have a thing about regularly making one MMC witness the other MMC fuck other guy(s) after they are together. I remember that happened in another book by this author that I read. In this series, in the first book, it was rape so I could understand that even though it really hurt to read. But in this book, Mabon fucking that other fey in front of Blake was for the flimsiest of reasons, he didn't have to, and it was entirely unnecessary to do it in front of Blake. And then later on in the book, Mabon did a sexual Only Fans collab (probably wasn't full on sex, not specified though) to make money while Blake stewed outside as it happened. Not something I want to subject myself too. So, I'm out.

Mabon is a sparkly power bottom, unhinged fey twink. Brother of Rhydian. He sees Blake and takes him captive as a pet. Blake is part of a resistance against the fey and when he accidentally falls captive he hopes to turn this around and find some useful reconnaissance out of it. Blake has always identified as straight. But he finds himself attracted to the very feminine Mabon. He struggles to get Mabon to understand and respect consent. Mabon at first respects Blake's refusal, but he starts to slippery slope of let's do this act that just escalates into everything. They have a wild dynamic but eventually Blake's secret is going to come out. Also, there are some fey Mabon is very afraid will challenge him to a duel, and turn him into a sex slave when he loses to them because they are stronger than him. Mabon's solution is to fuck them whenever they ask, even though he is in a relationship with Blake.

This book had promise. Mabon was a wildly unhinged character with boundary problems and that made him fun to watch for a while. But like I said at the start of the review, I can't handle the strong rape themes and the author continuously having an MMC fuck someone else, especially in front of their love interest. JAIL!

Some notable moments:

"Mabon taps a finger against his supple looking lips. His eyes are narrowed, and a look of intense concentration is on his face. “No,” he says eventually. “I want it to be clear he is mine.” He removes the brown collar and tosses it carelessly aside. Then he picks up a collar encrusted with sparkling purple crystals. It looks like a collar for a cat. A spoiled Persian princess of a show cat. He buckles it around my neck and I feel my manhood die. Mabon claps his hands together. His strange eyes are sparkling. “Perfect!” he gushes."

"Oh lord. I need to pull myself together. Focus. The plan is to learn as much as I can, then escape. Then therapy, so much therapy."

"“I haven’t ridden him yet. All this tantalising flesh, and now I can’t show him off either. It’s not fair!” My cheeks are heating now. I’ll just stare at my toes for a while. This new fey seems wonderfully understanding, but I can’t look at anyone right now. “I know,” the red fey says gently. “But if you are nice to your pet, he might fall in love with you, and wouldn’t that be something?” My head snaps up at that ridiculous statement, just as Mabon looks over his shoulder at me. Our gazes lock. His eyes are surprisingly wide, innocent, almost. Timidly hopeful. Like a puppy peeking through the bars of a shelter. A lost and lonely look."

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

Blake's a member of the Resistance gets caught by Prince Mabon while on a reconnaissance mission looking for possible entries into Buckingham Palace. Mabon doesn't suspect him of spying. He just sees a tall, built human that he wants for a pet.

It's culture shock for Blake. The collar and leash. The barely there silk loincloth. Worse, a straight male, Blake is developing feelings for Mabon. It terrifies him almost as much as Mabon's actions. Just as Blake begins to think of the Fae as a 'normal' guy, Mabon does something totally alien. And jolts him back to 'I'm his prisoner'. Blake sees a gentle, shy side of Mabon that he can't reveal at Court. Is it Stockholm Syndrome, or love?

There are a lot of tender moments. The cuddling. Blake's need to protect Mabon while in the Human world. And there's a bit of fun, "Oh, hello Mr. Dinky". Lots of steam and sizzle. Mabon's brothers are great secondaries, though Rhydian and Jamie show up towards the last third of the book. The moment that Blake realizes what rhocyns and unbound hair mean is heartachingly sweet. Human and Fae villains. Got an OMG feeling at the book's climax.

I am looking forward to the other brother's books. The author said they'll all get their HEAs. Wondering if Llywelyn is included since he's the least trustworthy brother.

I am really liking this Fey series, Prince Mabon and Blake's story was an interesting book. These two characters couldn't be more opposite or wrong for each other and I can honestly say I am amazed how they worked!! Talented writing to sell me on these two as a couple!! I loved Mabon from the beginning..a definite"power bottom" and loves sparkly, shiny things and throughout the book his fascination with his treasures was interesting and his weirdness and quirkiness was OH so entertaining to read!! Loved, loved his character… HOWEVER, it took me a long time to start to " like/ tolerate" Blake's character. And it's told from his POV!!! Just something about his demeanor and attitude rubbed me the wrong way… but Thankfully that changes when he finally falls for Mabon💖💖… I really love it when an author is able to change my view on how I feel about a character towards the ending!!!

KUDOS to S.Rodman!😉

I was so excited for the second book in this series, and it did not disappoint. The story progressed and the writing was easy to follow. Mister Dinky is my new favourite side character of the series. This story had me laughing but also at the edge of my seat in suspense. I loved the small drops of mentions of the first couple of the series in this book and this book has enhanced my opinion that Mabon is my favourite brother still so far. This book also had me feeling angry at some characters and I desperately need them dealt with so that my boys can have some peace. I am excited for the next book in this series, the blurb about it has me hooked already.

I have been impatiently waiting for this book and it did NOT disappoint! Blake and Mabons story was suuuuch a journey. There were times I wanted to shake them both slap some sense into them. 😂 but I loved them nonetheless. My heart hurt so much for Mabon. He really has to fake it to make it in so many instances and I’m just so glad he finally got his HEA. I love him so much and his insecurities killed me, he deserves all the love in the world! I’m also so glad Blake came to his senses and accepted the fact he loves him. No one will treat Mabon better than Blake. 🥹 10/10 recommend this book. I love this author!

Guess I'm Mabonsexual now...
***
I knew that the fey court was no place for the faint-hearted, but I wasn't prepared for the heartache. Mabon is so multi-layered that I couldn't help but be amazed, but that's also how he got right under my skin. It's not often that I have to take a break from reading, not because it would get boring, but because I wasn't sure if my heart would be able to take the next page, the next chapter. The suspense was there from the first moment, the intrigue and machinations that only the Fey can have. But I also had to smile a lot and sometimes laugh out loud, because Mabon is just Mabon and even Jamie had his moments.
S. Rodman manages to break my heart, to embrace me with his story and in the end I'm not angry at all for all the tears I cried, but simply enriched by something I didn't know I had longed for. A definite must-read, even though it's bound to be difficult for the fainthearted.

This book was entertaining from start to finish, it is told from Blake's POV and his internal dialogue often had me laughing.

Blake's snooping led to capture and an opportunity to learn what he can about the Fey. He isn't the brightest about picking up clues, but does eventually learn some things about Fey politics - nothing that would really help the Resistance. Captivity led to much more personal revelations, a kinky, sexual bi-awakening that Blake was shocked by, but surrendered willingly. There are a lot of steamy sexy times throughout this book.

Mabon is an intriguing mix of dominating captor, sassy brat, vulnerability, and sweet innocence. Once Blake learns Mabon's true nature, his struggling with his developing feelings lessens. He still makes a huge mistake, and while their journey together is full of ups and down and surprising twists, the love that develops is genuine and can be felt slowly growing throughout the book.

There were some unanswered questions at the end of the book, but overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

This is my unbiased, honest opinion.

The dealings within the Fey court remain mysterious throughout this book. The author states it can be read as a stand alone book, which it can, however i believe a much better read would be had if the first book was read, as i believe alot of the plotline and intricasies as a whole would be better understood, if the author has woven this into the first book, i don't know as i have not read the first book.

This book gives the reader quite alot of smut, and does not really dig into what i feel could be an interesting plotline and backstory. Somewhat dissapointed with the lack of plot and backstory.

idk when & how it happened but i got so obsessed with this series - ikr there are just two books so far but- this series is so ✨epic✨!!! like it's a darkish rom-com with kinda oblivious, aloof, "cold-hearted" fey princes but it's still so unique??? idek this whole universe & its characters are just really vibing with me✨

Prince Mabon was an interesting character in the previous book already but i absolutely fell in love with him in this book!!💜 he was a precious character despite being kinda deadly & vicious - even when he appeared charming with a bubbly personality. he was just so innocent at times, i wanted him to be protected & loved🥺 he was also endearingly curious about humans lol & ofc the concept of love..🥺💜

❝ 𝑴𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒎𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒆, 𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒉 𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒎𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏. ❞

·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳💜˚˖𓍢ִ໋✧

❝ 𝑰 𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒚, 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒏. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒇𝒕, 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒚. ❞

Blake was an interesting character as well but in a different way.. being a member of the Resistance made him an "enemy" however his identity was kept secret creating a tricky situation.. he got close to the fey very suddenly when he basically got kidnapped accidentally lol but he knew very little about the fey & so little was explained to him making him kinda oblivious.. which also caused him to make mistakes & hurt Mabon unintentionally bc he just didn't understand.. his heart was in the right place tho so it was sometimes frustrating in a sad way when he made some wrong choices (bc of his lack of awareness/insight into the fey ways) but he also tried! despite everything! his character development was beautiful to watch & he ended up being a perfect match for Mabon💞✨

❝ 𝑰’𝒎 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕. 𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕. 𝑯𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒇𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒚 𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏. 𝑰𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. ❞

i felt like there was a great balance between the plot & the romance & the smut! the spice was veryyy hot🔥🔥🔥 & Mabon was the best power bottom!!😳🥵 i loved how he was trying his best to respect Blake & gave him several opportunities to consent despite not really being familiar with this concept, having been brought up in a culture where the idea of consent was non-existent - and also despite him being the captor who could've forced his way.. he was still dominant in his own way which Blake definitely enjoyed & consented to!💜✨

❝ 𝑯𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒚, 𝒇𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆. 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆. 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒗𝒖𝒍𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆. 𝑯𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒎𝒊𝒕. 𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒕. 𝒀𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓. 𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒅. ❞

overall, it was a very entertaining story & i had a blast!🥰🤭 i also can't wait for the next books, these fey brothers are the hottest🔥 & alsoo ofc i still need my sweet Dyfri to finally have his HEA, like pls i'm begging🤧🖤

This felt more like a rehash/summary of the first book but with less character development, plot, and emotion.
In the first book, more was fleshed out about Jamie's character, his life before he was captured, and there was a bit more variety of emotions he was feeling in his situation.

In this book, the description of Blake, from his physical appearance, to his personality and his intentions was surface level and shallow.
Over and over, Blake keeps reminding himself that he is a member of the Resistance and that he will gather information, but he barely does anything while immediately falling for his captor, Prince Mabon. Blake goes through a less descriptive retread of what Jamie from book one went through. (Getting settled into the palace, learning about his captor, etc.)

I kept scratching my head at Blake's thought process. One moment he's upset about being captured, the next moment he's already falling for his captor and wants to stand up for him being treated unfairly, then the next he goes back to "got to get information for the resistance," then he makes a bad choice that makes things difficult for the prince, then "must do the right thing because I care about the Prince"... even though Blake was the main cause? And these whirlwind of feelings from hating Fey to falling for his captor in the span of a couple weeks?

At the halfway point, it finally got interesting, but I quickly was let down by the outcome.
A couple characters that were teased as the potential villains (?) or problematic fey didn't lead to anything as well.

The only interesting scene was towards the very end in a tense moment, but it still left me with questions:
How was a certain group just randomly in an abandoned car park in London that the main character just happened to go into?

And the ending was just...there.

There were grammatical errors and some strange typos where the word "Am" should be in the sentence was replace with "I'm" a few times. Perhaps this will be corrected in the published version.

There's a couple brief appearances of Jamie and mentions of Rhydian from Book One, and even more brief appearances from the other brothers, which I loved from the previous book.
The pacing for the first half was slow, got interesting at the halfway point, then went back to slow and dragged until the very end.
The dialogue was just more cringe in this one, and the relationship seemed purely physical with surface level conversation.

Enjoyed the first book a bit more.

Ten months ago, I was selling fruit and veg on my market stall in Brixton. Now I’m trying to figure out how to take Buckingham Palace back from fairies. It’s a lot.

Book 2 in the Fey Lords series continues with the same light/dark hybrid style as book one - the Fey really don't have a grasp on consent either within their own society or as it applies to humans - so the book explores some technically very dark themes, but told through the viewpoints of such fluffy idiots as our MCs it does so without actually feeling dark. And oh boy are our MCs fluffy. We have adorable sparkly twink Elf Lord Mabon and his captive human such-a-himbo-you-wonder-what-he-actually-did-for-the-resistance Blake who, erm....looks good in a Princess Leia-style veil outfit?! Rodman's writing style sparkles as usual, with so many fun lines and sweet moments to highlight, and it's a fast-paced, enjoyable read with some great heat and a nice frisson of light angst.
Mabon is standing here, haloed by the white gauze covered windows behind him, looking every inch like some kind of horny angel who is about to devour me. Like he is the cat and I am the toy. Merely something to be used for his pleasure. It’s lighting up parts of my subconscious that I didn’t know I had. This is so not the right way to discover a kink.

Throughout many previous book series, Rodman has always portrayed the Fey as the ultimate villains, so it's great to see them getting - not a redemption exactly (even with the romantic couples there's an unavoidable layer of dubcon/stockholm syndrome) - but their own moment in the spotlight as main characters. It’s worth noting that all of Rodman’s series are set in the same universe, though this isn’t necessarily immediately obvious when you first start reading. The paranormal, magical, and human elements are kept very separate, and each series can stand alone. However, based on my own experience and other reviews, you'll definitely get more out of the Fey books if you’ve read at least some of the others, and especially those previous in this series. Rodman’s writing is fast-paced and driven by action and dialogue, and doesn't dive too deep into world-building from book to book, but for those who crave backstory, it’s all there! I’d recommend starting with the Dragon Riders series, which explains how Earth was overrun by the beautiful but deadly Fey.

Oof. I really wanted to like this book but it just..did not do it for me at all.

This series tells you right on the label it’s “dark”, so that was not unexpected. While it’s not normally my go-to, I find this writer uses the “dark” bits well to write an intriguing and compelling plot, so it feels “worth” reading through the ugly bits to reach the HEA. Unfortunately for me, book two took a giant step backwards compared to book one.

I did not like either MC.
Blake starts out well, a brave human, quietly looking for ways for humanity to rebel and be rid of the fey invaders. I was curious to see where this would go, how Mabon would win him over or how they’d grow together.
Basically all it ended up being was straight-guy Blake almost immediately abandons his morals and desire to free humanity (and his self-respect🙄) because… Mabon is really, really hot.
So f**k humanity, I guess, right?

Mabon reads like two different characters in a way that felt jarring, not an organic development.
At first he’s this fierce prince. He’s an expert at playing court games and politics to keep himself (and the brothers he likes) protected from the snakes amongst their court. He’s a little bit viscous. He threatens to mutilate Blake more than once. This in itself isn’t a bad thing if we get to see him grow into his HEA.
Partway through the book he becomes this childish little magpie, obsessed with shinies. The fierce cunningness? Poof.
His only real consistency is the perpetual horniness.

I feel the ‘romance’ part of this needed a lot more substance (and less shallow sex). Bonding through their shared trials would have made much more sense than pretending there was genuine love right from the start, when their “relationship” was threats and sex-slavery.

(Also Blake’s guilt trip?? Yes, I understand feeling guilty if the guys you thought were “good guys” turn out to be equally as bad and you regret trusting them. That guilt makes some sense. But all the “oh how could Mabon ever forgive me??!” nonsense? Bud, he literally abducted you, forced you to be his sex slave and threatened to seal your eyes with hot wax, cut out your tongue or kill you..? I think you can at the very least consider yourselves square. FFS.)

Despite this swing and miss, I will definitely be continuing on with this series. I’ve enjoyed this author’s other books and world building very much. Hopefully Tristan’s book hits better for me.🤷‍♀️

First I want to say that I was super excited to read Mabon’s story. Come on… he is the embodiment of a power bottom and an entitled fae prince! I had to see how his story was going to play out. In part because bottoming in general in this world seems to go hand in hand with submission, and that isn’t Mabon.

So, Mabon sees Blake outside the palace. He likes what he sees and claims him as his pet. As one does.

Blake is taking pictures of Buckingham Palace in hopes of gathering intel for the resistance. Naturally.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t like Blake for much of the book. Not all of it was his fault. The poor guy gets plopped down in the middle of a fae court and has zero explanation of what to expect, what certain events mean, and some of the thoughts and choices he makes reflect that deficit. It was also difficult to get past his wrong choice for he felt was the right reason. I knew his heart was in the right place, but my god, where was his head? He does redeem himself in my estimation, when he tried to right that particular wrong. He grows as a character and as a person who I felt complimented Mabon better.

Mabon is a wonderful mix of domineering fae prince, golden retriever energy, and horndog power bottom. I swear, his answer for everything seemed to be orgasms. So I found it sweetly endearing that he really took to heart the “if you treat your pet well, he’ll fall in love with you” comment that came up soon after he made Blake his pet. Not gonna lie, there was a bit of a learning curve on Mabon’s part to figure out what it meant to have a pet.

There are some instalove vibes, but I think that has a lot to do with the vagueness of the timeline. I can honestly say I have no idea how much time passed from beginning to end. In spite of that, I truly did enjoy Mabon and Blake’s story. A rounded up 3.75 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reading Fey Dominion felt like peeking through the doors to an exciting and parallel fantasy world, magical yet familiar at the same time. The eloquent and vivid writing style, in combination with an engaging and witty narrative, creates a page-turning read.
This is the second book in a series, each dedicated to the story of a different fey prince, a member of the royal family ruling Earth after the fey invasion, and it can be read as a standalone.
Instead of creating a separate world, the author hides the fey and magic in plain sight on an Earth that seems largely unchanged. The plot is an exciting combination of entertaining misunderstandings, the acceptance of feelings and differences, attraction and passion mixed with suspense, action, betrayal, regret, and true love.
The story focuses on Blake, a simple salesperson who engaged in the human rebellion movement after the fey invasion, and Fey Prince Mabon y Mabonogi. After Mabon abducts Blake as his pet, his entertaining and exciting journey from animosity, confusion over his feelings and identity, conflicting loyalties, betrayal, guilt, and true love begins.
Both Blake and Mabon, despite their profound differences, are well-described and developed, appearing relatable and charming in their own ways.
One of the most captivating and heartwarming features of the book is the incremental revelation of the tender, insecure, and charming—almost childish and naive—side of the fearsome fey prince. In my opinion, giving more context and insight into Mabon’s reasoning and his POV would be a refreshing and intriguing spin for readers.
The book does not deal with dark drama, shattering emotions, complex and flawed characters, violent themes, or difficult issues.
Regardless, Fey Dominion is a relaxing, effortless, heartwarming yet exciting and engaging read.

Disclaimer: I received an advance reader copy of this book and my voluntary review reflects my honest opinion.

           MM. Paranormal. Captive/Captor. Bi-Awakening {more like Mabonsexual}. HEA.

Blake the human is caught spying by the Prince. He is then claimed as a pet. He'll play along for now; for the sake of the Resistance and the intelligence he can gather. He is Tall, Brawny and Beautiful which is why Prince Mabon wants him so badly.

Mistakes were made; MANY and at great cost.

Prince Mabon Y Mabinogi is a fey prince. A ruler of the race that conquered Earth. He is Bratty, bossy and stunningly Beautiful. He has a life of privilege. That privilege comes at the expense of lies, manipulation, political intrigue and his happiness.

First: I want to say I hated Blake for the majority of this book. The amount of pain and upset he caused was extraordinary. I side eyed. Threw up my fist. Yelled at my kindle. UUUUGGGHHH He's a Turd-FaceMagee
Second: Mabon is the Master of consent and also the horniest hotdog to ever Herald the Power Bottoms flag. He turns every terrible situation into sunshine's, rainbows and sexy time
Third: The resistance can suck it
Fourth: Mortality? How do their timelines align?
Fifth: The second book is not as dark as the first.
Sixth: This can be read as a standalone but it was much better having read the first book.

Absolutely Read through the Trigger Warning if you have sensitivities feel feel like there are events that happen in the story that may upset/bother you.

My review is somewhat mixed for this book. I liked learning more and more about both Mabon and Blake though I feel the character background and story background was somewhat lacking. Granted, I haven't read the first book in the series and after reading this one, would definitely recommend reading the first book first as it might give you better backstory. I read the entire book in one day, I was eager to learn more about the plot line and watch the romance unfold. Both characters are sweet and endearing but there were little things I found awkward. I know I gave this a 5 but I think it would fluctuate between a 4.5 and 5 because the consenting aspects of the relationship were confusing. The idea of a pet/sex slave was interesting to read which, to prevent spoilers, is all I'll say.

Otherwise, I really liked this series by S. Rodman. I've begun his Found and Freed series and I like the general storylines in both. Endearingly sweet characters, dramatic plots, the romance and more. I enjoyed reading this book overall. My only wish was that we could have learned more about both characters background, learn more about their personalities and what drives them. I can't wait to read the other brothers story's.

This was an interesting read. I didn't get to read the first book and that's not really a bad thing. This can be read as a standalone. It appears this will be a series involving the fey (princely) brothers finding their love/mates. With Fey Dominion, Mabon, one of the fey princes, finds and makes Blake (a human) his pet. But this is all in Blake's POV. I would have LOVED for this to have been dual POV...I think I would have enjoyed it more. Blake was so conflicted with his emotions throughout...his bisexual awakening was kind of comical...Mabon's beauty took him off guard...so he was conflicted a lot during his captivity...plus he was still young minded. Mabon had different moments of being authoritative, bratty, innocent, insecure and highly sexual. Supposedly he's not that emotional but throughout especially the second half that proved to be false. Mabon was/is highly emotional and sweet. I think I really enjoyed this romance the second part when Mabon and Blake was on the run. The first part(captivity) was a dud for me. So glad how things turned out for both and the love that grew between the two during their journey. I'm definitely curious with the other fey brothers finding their happiness...hopefully the author would consider dual POV.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

One moment Blake is taking pictures (read: spying), the next he’s collared and leashed.

“I, Prince Mabon Y Mabonogi, claim Blake Robinson as my pet.”

When Prince Mabon saw the bulging muscles of Blake, he wanted him, and as a Fey Prince can, he took him.

“I’m not gay, and I don’t do fey!” Ha! Sweetie pie as if, you never saw it coming!

Blake had the plan to go along until he found the right moment to escape, (dream on).
The Fey took over Earth and Blake with The Resistance to bring them down.
The Fey are the enemy, he must stay focused, (ha! impossible)

Prince Mabon is just dazzling, so pretty, with gorgeous dimples, and irresistible, but don’t mistake him for weak, he’s also deadly and dangerous.
Against his common sense, Blake follows Mabon like the good pet he is.

Blake even turns into protective mode when Mabon gets harassed.
But he has to stay focused and work with the Resistance.

Let me tell you there are some adventures to look forward to!

I loved this story it’s fun, emotional, low angst, and sexy af, because duh Fey Prince Mabon and his needs, Blake turned around 360 degrees, and thank goodness because they were meant for each other.

Another great story in this series!

After reading book 1, I was really looking forward to delving further into this world of the Fey. It isn't really clear exactly how long after book 1 this is set but I found Mabon to be a brilliant character full of so many different layers. He and Blake had a lot of chemistry together and I liked how their dynamic progressed throughout the story. I thought some of Blake's decision making was a bit strange (especially how he justified it to himself) and there were points when I really wished we'd get a chapter from Mabon's point of view to see more about his thoughts and feelings. The end leaves a few wider things unfinished but they do get their HEA together too. I like the brotherly bond that Mabon has with his siblings and I hope we get to see more in the future about them working together and changing things. Dyfri is definitely one of my favourite secondary characters and I can't wait until it's his turn for a HEA! I'm looking forward to Tristan's book next though.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I have been eagerly waiting for Mabon’s book and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT👏👏👏 I loved this book. Mabon is everything, perfect, stunning deadly and soft and sweet. I loved getting to understand more of him and all of his layers as the book went on. Blake was perfect for Mabon- even when he was being oblivious. I am obsessed with this series and this unique world the author has created. I want to live in it. Mabon and Blake’s story is a fast paced wild ride and I loved every second of it. My heart shattered for Mabon a couple of times, poor sweet Mabon😩. Mabon is the master a hiding his emotions and I loved that Blake was able to read him better as time went on. This book was dark, but also funny and sweet and had me blushing and squirming. I just don’t have the words to express how addicted I am to this series and I can’t wait for more to come. If you love a deadly twink that lives pretty shiny things and is a total power bottom that has a thing for a giant human teddy bear then please read this book. It’s amazing😍😍

I'll wait for the next entry on this series but probably wont revisit this one.

I got an ARC to give an honest review about this book.
An I liked it, a lot. It draw me in, I needed to know what happened next. The plot is kind of unpredictable, in a good way.
The main characters... I liked them both separately, and in the same scenes, but as a romantic couple make no sense. Maybe it's because there's just one POV so you never quite know what Mabon is thinking, or that he does nothing that actually warrants Blake falling in love with him. While they have some nice moments Blake was already in love by that point.
Mabon is pretty interesting and funny, he carries the whole book with his insanity bouts and weirdness. Blake is sort of a nondescript main characther, but he isn't completely bland and he plays a good straight man to Mabon.
I'll give it 3,5 stars rounded up to 4 because But it was entertaining and well written.

He's lucky he wasn't killed when he was caught snooping outside the palace, but then again, Prince Mabon Y Mabinogi is unlike anyone he's ever met. His decisions don’t make sense. He is beautiful, demanding, loud and dramatic. He loves sparkly and pretty things and wants to keep Blake as his pet. He’ll play along for now. For the sake of the Resistance and the intelligence he can gather. But as soon as he can escape his bed, he's gone. There is no reason to stay. No reason to take him with him. Is there?

I enjoyed this story with the fey prince and the resistance fighter. I did find Drake's determination a bit too much at times but I was glad that he made the right choice at the end. It was interesting to learn more about fey politics and that Drake learnt a little more about the significance of their hair. Easy to read, feel and understand this book was full of thoughts and feelings, especially for Drake. This was an MM story with mature content.

Fey/human romance in this alternate England

I just love the way that S Rodman has taken with this alternate England that has magic and the Fey. We get more Fey/human romance along with the political scenes and the machinations of the Fey court. Told from the human Blake’s point of view he is naive and rather clueless about what is really going on around him but I like that Rodman doesn’t make him stupid, which would fit the stereotype of a bigger guy. Mabon is full of contradictions which seems to be the default for all of the Fey that have been in these books. I don’t usually like books that leave questions unanswered, but this is a series and Rodman is good at slowly working answers into the story line. It gives you a sense of what most humans would probably be feeling if the Fey took over the world. Very entertaining reading but you need to read the various books in order to get the most understanding and enjoyment out of them.

I really enjoyed Fey Conquest and was pleased that Mabon or to give him his full name Prince Mabon Y Mabinogi got his story.
Blake was out on reconnaissance outside Buckingham Palace to get info for the Resistance when he caught the eye of Mabon.
Told from Blake's pov, you know just how he feels being taken as Mabon pet, being made to wear a collar and leash, the clothes he was made to wear to show him off, but you also learn that Mabon was not just a pretty face and whilst at times he came across as naïve there is more to him that meets the eye.
We get to know more about the resistance and when it feels like all is lost, there are some surprising moments as you can see Blake working out his attraction and whilst at times I was vocal about Blake, I did like what he became.
I am enjoying this series and cannot wait for another brother

Mabon my sweet summer child. I did not expect to fall in love with him as much as I did but damn his mixture of haughty brat and vulnerable innocent is perfection. I wanted to cuddle him so much but at the same time found his take charge side very hot. Just a mess of juxtapositions that come together beautifully.

Blake is also pretty sweet with a total puppy dog personality. Mabon is his bi-awakening. He is not very emotionally intelligent and makes some major mistakes but the poor guy really does try. Very endearing.

I loved these two together and how they work to figure things out. I am really excited to see how the rest of the brother's dynamics unfold in future books. Highly recommend

I have never laughed so much at a book. The story of Blake Robinson and Prince Mabon. The interaction is beautiful. Blake who was in the resistance, or so he thought. What else could he do, he hated the Fey and they had taken over the world. And Prince Mabon, who came across as a spoiled child. But there was more to this behavior. And I loved how the reader learned more and more about the culture and customs of the Fey. That hair for example. Seems insignificant, but turned out to be everything. Then we get a deeper look into the feelings of Mabon and Blake, beautifully described. I really couldn't put this book down, had to read on. I am eagerly awaiting the stories of the Mabon brothers. But this book is really a keeper..

Well it's looking like another winner from S Rodman. Loved the first book and this was an excellent addition to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed following Prince Mabon and Blake's story and loved the fact they were complete opposites. Brilliant character and relationship development between them really helped me enjoy the journey. Mabon's quirky character and penchant for shiny things to add to his treasure was so much fun! Blake took me a bit longer to bond too but his growth throughout the story especially with his relationship with Mabon helped eventually endear himself to me. So looking forward to the next book.

Fey Dominion is the second book in the Fey Lords series.
Each book in the series is about a different couple so they can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. I wasn't able to put the book down once I started. This is Mabon a fey prince and Blake a member of the resistance's story. I loved all the characters and world building put into the story. I fell in love with Mabon's bratty, dominant, innocent personality because he is just so complex. Blake on the other hand is just not the brightest but is so sweet. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book. It is a 5 star read in my opinion.

Fey Dominion - His Magpie

‘My concerns and fears can wait. My soul can shut up because I’m going to follow my heart. Right now, I’m going to relish every moment of this. Whatever it is.’

Blake, a leader in the resistance to the fey taking over, finds himself in a precarious position when he is taken as the pet of Prince Mabon. Determined to make his captivity worthwhile, he allows the strangely enticing fey to become close, so that he can gather intel, of course.

S. Rodman has created a beguiling MM fantasy that tugs at our heartstrings, as we watch the relationship between Mabon and Blake ebb and flow, from captive to captivated!

Blake works for the resistance as the Fey have taken over Earth but Prince Mabon claims him for a pet. Gradually Blake finds his feeling invested in the well being of Mabon and finds pleasure in the pride Mabon has for his pet. In hot scenes, Blake shows him what humans can do and steals Mabon's heart. This is an interesting series with it's takes on similarities and differences between the Fey and humans. I loved how Blake could show his feelings but Mabon had to show through actions, not words until Blake realized his actions showed him also. I received a copy of this book through BookSirens and this is my voluntary opinion.
