This was such a good book that started off sooo sad. What happened in the beginning absolutely broke my heart and I teared up. Let me just say, that I absolutely Pinky, he is just such a good boy and such an amazing dog. I'm so happy that after everything she went through in the book that she was finally able to find her happily ever after. As always, read the trigger warnings first before proceeding. Emily is just such an amazing author and I absolutely loved all of her books

Another dark and amazing read from Emily!
I absolutely loved this book!
It was very emotional. My heart hurt so many times. The plot is very fast paced. There’s so many twists I didn’t see coming, omg. Ansley is so strong. The men are just great. I love sweet wholesome men from the start, also with that dirty mouth. The spice was great too!
This book is very dark so be mindful of triggers. If you want a dark mafia romance, I recommend so much!

Guarded Hearts is a why choose, dark romance with light mafia themes. Please check trigger warnings, this begins with a pretty significant trigger. I loved how strong Ansley was and how she picked up her pieces and cared for Pinky after the death of her husband. I also loved how devoted Sebastian was to Ansley, the banter between them was fun, the spice was spicy, and Christopher added a nice balance to Sebastian.

It's been awhile since I read a mafia romance and I think I really needed this one in my life. I love all the twists and I never expected that ending. This book is also quite different from most books I've read and is dark but has so much light in it as well. I'm glad I had the day off so I could read this book because I literally couldn't put this book down.

This was an incredibly emotional dark romance, I could feel Ansley's emotions flowing through the words.
It is so well written that I finished this book in one sitting.
Before you start this book, read the warnings about the triggers.
In addition to being emotional, it was also exciting and spicy and the betrayal came from a place where you actually didn't expect it.

This book broke my heart and put it back together again. I can’t imaging dealing with loss the way Ansley had. To lose so much in a single blow, and not even understand the bigger picture. But when she runs into her neighbor chasing her dog, you can see the sun start to shine again for Ansley.
It’s a book full of twists, and lots of …uh….action. Definitely worth the read!

I received an advanced copy! This book was fantastic! Spicy was top! Story line fantastic! Keep me wanting more, and wow, did Emily deliver! I love the raw feel to this and the truth of the desire I know so many of us hold. I highly recommend this! Can't wait to read more!
