A rating lower than the others... this one was just so disgusting and a tad more confusing than the others. I had hoped that we were on track in making it less confusing. Haha, but instead it is just back at confusing. I thought that weird man with the walking stick wasn't evil.. but I guess he is. Or he is some kind of ambivalent and does whatever he wants, either way confused.
The rats were just freaking disgusting. And that comes from someone who loves rats. The rats were drawn horrifically and nope and that whole egg thing just made me puke. :|
The art seems to go two ways as well. Pretty and wtf is up with those proportions. It was already a bit hit/miss but haha, it seems to get more and more. XD
Well a few more volumes left, will keep on reading. I need to know more about D'eon and his decision.

Le Chevalier d'Eon: Volume 5 did not rock like I thought it would. My main problem was the confusion I had while trying to figure out what was going on in the story. The whole bit about the four cards and what they meant was absolute gibberish to me. I even read that part again think that maybe I wasn't really paying attention, but I still couldn't understand what d'Alembert and d'Eon were talking about.

After having rated the last volume a ten our of ten, I was a little disappointed with this volume.

Now, for the good points. The artwork by Kiriko Yumeji is absolutely beautiful, as it always is. The story, although a little hard to follow, progresses nicely and I found myself shocked at the ending. The Comte de Saint-Germain rears his ugly head again and we learn how powerful he is when he confronts Emma. I just wish that the translation into English would have been worked on a little more so that a major portion of the book made more sense. I hate being confused because the translation isn't correct.

Overall, I still think that Le Chevalier d'Eon: Volume 5 is pretty great, but it sure wasn't on the same level as the previous book. I wonder what is going to happen next in Le Chevalier d'Eon: Volume 6?

I rated this book an 8 out of 10.
