me trying to see "the historic struggles of race, class, and gender" in an arch made of wooden chairs: 🤨🧐
Many of these pieces were interesting to look at, some even beautiful. But I'm afraid the thoughts and ideas behind it often go over my head. I'm not the kind of art lover who cares about that — I just want to look at beautiful, creative things. ✨🫧🪸💿🪜🪞🪩💭
A colorful, easy read. Each piece of art is accompanied by a short artist's statement and a quick description of the art and the context. At the end of the book, there's a biography of each artist/group. Nothing spectacular, but nothing awful.
