WHYYYYY was this book so short?!?!?!?! I'm dying!!! I need book 2 like last night, as soon as I finished this one so I could have immediately started it too.
In case you haven't figured it out yet, I LOOOOOVED this book. So much going down and yet at the same time, just enough book to get you hooked into the story only to be left hanging.
The story starts with Mia going to see her brother in prison. He's a SEAL and being accused of murder. He claims he's innocent and Mia believes him. However, no one else wants to help her prove his innocence. He's banned her from coming back to see him, and all of the other SEAL's have been ordered silent. Even her ex Grant, that's on the team with her brother, refuses to help her. So with no other choice, she decides she will do whatever it takes to find out information to help him. Even if that means making extreme changes to herself so she can infiltrate the team.
Grant's POV is also offered some in this book and however much I loved Mia, and her bravery, I loved Grant just a little bit more. Maybe because I have a thing for male POV's, I'm not sure. But, in his head you get to see all of his struggles. From how much he still loves Mia, and misses her, even though he won't admit it to himself, to finding out he really does still care for Joaquin and wants to find out what is going down with him too.
SOOOO, since the book is only 91 pages that's all I can give. Don't want to give anything away. :) I just want to walk away saying this, from the ending of this book, I can already tell that book 2 is going to be even better. And waiting until Feb is going to be torture. But it seems we may get more of Grant's POV, just going by the synopsis, so I'll TRRYYYYYY to be as patient as possible......

4 Carnal Stars!
I got to beta read the first installment of this new serial series. Interesting start with definite promise. Intrigued to see where it goes. Hot Navy SEALS that have a tendency to sin! What more could a girl ask for?

Hate that this book was so short which is why it is only a 3 star rating. I now need to get the next book in the series which I know is the point in a short teaser to the series. Intrigued to find out what develops here. Has the potential to be a good series.

Debo decir que me resulto algo extremo su decisión de someterse a cirugías para poder cambiar su aspecto y así hacerse pasar por una striper, una de esas que tanto le gusta a los chicos SEAl, pero a la vez comprendo que el amor por su hermano, su única familia, la lleve a estos extremos.
A su vez me molesto muchísimo la actitud de todos sus compañeros de equipo, hermanos de guerra, ya que no sólo le dan la espalda a Joaquín, quien dice ser totalmente inocente, sino también a su hermana a quien han tomado como una hermana pequeña más. Aun que después de haber visto muchas series y películas donde ocurren este tipo de sucesos extraños, en todas resalta esta actitud que tienen los distintos grupos de la milicia norteamericana, tal vez tenga que ver mucho con como son entrenados y lo que deben soportar en cada misión lo que los hace totalmente inaccesibles.
Como les decía dentro del grupo tenemos a Grant, con quien Mía ha tenido su historia. Una historia que no ha acabado bien y de lo cual en esta ocasión no le podemos echar la culpa a él. Así como Grant guarda secretos ella también los oculta, cosa que dejo que influya en la separación.
Nos encontramos con un libro que me supo a poco debido a que me resulto corto y no obstante queda totalmente inconcluso, por lo que hay que esperar os que siguen. Podríamos adivinar que serian 7 si vemos el amor de la autora por ese número.

De repente llega una noticia inesperada, tu hermano mayor ha sido encarcelado por un crimen.
Tú siguiendo tu instinto, haces hasta lo inimaginable para tratar de liberar a tu hermano y así poder limpiar su nombre, pues él es un integrante de un grupo de marinos en aquel país.

El libro es muy cortito, pero créanme que cuando les digo que la historia es buena, no es mentira, es tan buena... Que desearía el libro fuera más extenso.
Debo reconocer la valentía y perseverancia de la protagonista, creo que el amor que le tiene a su hermano es tan grande, que digamos en cierto modo la obliga a hacer algo, para poder liberarlo.

This was an interesting plot, I just wanted more action. Mia's brother is on the hook for murder and she decides to get a total makeover and go undercover to get evidence to exonerate him. She ends up clashing with her ex boyfriend Grant and has to keep him from finding out who she really is and keep her feelings locked down. I liked seeing Mia undercover and her new relationship with Grant, I'm hoping the next book will have more action and we'll find out some information about what actually happened with the murder.

En mi opinión me gustó mucho este libro ya que es muy interesante y rápido de leer, te presenta una historia con mucho misterio y militares.
Me encanta con te muestra la relación de hermanos entre mía y Joaquín. Y a Mia como una mujer independiente que es capaz de todos por exonera a su hermano de un crimen que no cometió, incluso cambia de apariencias solo para lograr su objetivo.
Me gusta como la autora escribe y te muestran la historia.
Este primer capítulo me dejó con muchas expectativa para leer el segundo capítulo y saber qué pasa con Mia, Grant y Joaquín.
Me encanta con te muestra la relación de hermanos entre mía y Joaquín. Y a Mia como una mujer independiente que es capaz de todos por exonera a su hermano de un crimen que no cometió, incluso cambia de apariencias solo para lograr su objetivo.
Me gusta como la autora escribe y te muestran la historia.

SIE7E Navy SEALs letales están unidos por un secreto sobre una noche que terminó en tragedia, un homicidio , un acusado injustamente, una inocencia por demostrar, Mia Cruz hará lo imposible, cambiará toda su vida para descubrir quién asesinó a la stripper por la que tienen recluido en una cárcel al ser que más ama su hermano probará su inocencia y así limpiar su nombre. Toda su vida había sido protegida por él era su turno de rescatarle, ese era su objetivo, Pero al parecer los Navy Seal no hablan, llevarán el secreto hasta la tumba, son muy herméticos se protegen entre ellos mismo, a sabienda que uno de ellos era quien estaba en problemas no entendía por qué de sus comportamientos, por eso aprovecharía todo lo que aprendió en la escuela para poder infiltrarse en el mundo de los Seal y lograr saber la verdad, pero con lo que ella no contaba es que su exnovio un Seal, Grant Carrion la conocía muy bien, pese al dolor que ella le causó y todo lo que había hecho por superarla el amor por ella seguía ahí, pese a su transformación estaba seguro que era ella, la estaba dejando ganar. Que empiece el juego!!
Sorprendida por el final, abierto a muchos interrogantes y queriendo saber más sobre algunos de sus personajes esperando desde ya el segundo libro, buen trabajo Alana Quintana.
Una historia que resultó maravillosa e interesantes, sus personajes fuertes, aguerridos, perspicaces, enigmáticos, una historia muy continua que tiene ese algo que te incita a seguir leyendo y degustandola así que la recomiendo a sumergirse en este mundo naval, de amores que no se olvidan, de cambios por un fin, y vidas al filo del peligro constante.

Primer libro que leo de esta autora y en definitiva no el último pues su manera de narrar la trama es muy ligera que se te pasa rapidísimo.
En esta ocasión ARROGANTE nos llevará a conocer la vida de Mia una joven estudiante de actuación que a temprana edad perdió a sus padres y fue cuidada por su hermano mayor Joaquin un miembro de un grupo de 7 agentes SEAL.
Un día ella debe regresar a su pueblo natal pues su hermano a sido acusado de asesinar a una mujer, Mía sabiendo que si único familiar no sería capaz de algo así decide recurrir por ayuda a su ex novio a quien por cierto lo dejo de una manera nada favorable pues ella cometió un error que no puede contar, este por el odio que siente por ella le niega su ayuda.
Pero es claro que nuestra protagonista no dejara a su protector en la cárcel por mucho que el se lo pudiera, ella hará lo que sea para ayudarle aunque eso la lleve a ser un cambio radical en su vida y sobre todo en su cuerpo pues deberá interpretar su mejor papel para poder descubrir al verdadero asesino.
Su principal obstáculo es que su ex no la descubra cuando deba acercarse a el para empezar a investigar, será capaz, de lograrlo.
En esta primera entrega de esta serie es lo que podremos encontrar que por cuidar a los nuestros hacemos lo que sea, ahora toca esperar la 2 parte para descubrir más sobre este asesinato y si Mia podrá dar vida a su nuevo personaje.

I don’t recognize the damaged woman in the mirror staring back at me—platinum-blond hair, blood-red lips and nails, curves laced up in the finest lingerie. I have transformed into a bombshell to exonerate my brother, United States Navy SEAL Joaquín Cruz. He’s been languishing in a jail cell for the past six months, accused of a murder he didn’t commit, his honorable career as a SEAL ruined, his spirit crushed.
Now this is what I call taking one for the team, so her brother who is a US Navy Seal has been accused of murder and she thinks that if she goes undercover she will discover the truth. Ok, I love my brother, but she totally transforms herself, oh and wait she has to conceal her identity from her ex-boyfriend. He’s also a Navy Seal.
Grant Carrion is her ex. Now I get the whole transformation, but seriously seriously how does he not recognize you at alllll. You guys dated, you guys had sex, I mean are you that forgettable, that your ex doesn’t even see you?
So she is an undercover stripper, and Grant is her prey. She must now make him fall for her.
At the end of the book they are starting to day, so I guess step one is successful, only six more to go

Im sorry to say, I was not taken by this book. It just wasnt my cup of tea. It was written fairly well, with a few minor issues with some structuring.
The Characters had no personality for me. They seemed stiff and i couldnt feel the flow of them as a whole.
I struggled with Mia being able to get in there, and disguise herself and no one being able to recognize her. It was far fetched. She was a stripper for god sakes .... as in naked. Her disguise was silicon boobs and a wig and some working out. In my opinion that is a little off base.
The Male Characters are SEALS .... i would think that would make them extremely alpha, but i didnt get that from them...The lack of character development lets down the plot because the characters seemed interesting from the Synopsis and I wanted more.
There was a big cliff hanger, which normally wouldnt bother me, but it wasnt one, for me, that would make me want to get to the next book, as it was too far fetched. I dont want to give anything away so i wont say what the cliffy is.

This is the first book in a series of novellas. It's military romantic suspense, a personal fave of mine. It's about Mia, who has to turn to her ex to help her try to clear her brother, who is in jail for murder. Her brother, Joaquin, is a SEAL team mate of her ex, Grant.
Grant has been ordered not to talk about the events and night of the murder. He certainly has no desire to help Mia with anything, despite his desire to clear his friend's name. Mia is a bit of a pistol and after being refused help by Grant or the rest of her brother's team, she is forced to take very drastic measures on her own.
I read this book and immediately started the second one. Great characters, great suspense and sex. I love this author's work. This novella is linked to her Trident Code series.

This is the first book in a series of novellas. It's military romantic suspense, a personal fave of mine. It's about Mia, who has to turn to her ex to help her try to clear her brother, who is in jail for murder. Her brother, Joaquin, is a SEAL team mate of her ex, Grant.
Grant has been ordered not to talk about the events and night of the murder. He certainly has no desire to help Mia with anything, despite his desire to clear his friend's name. Mia is a bit of a pistol and after being refused help by Grant or the rest of her brother's team, she is forced to take very drastic measures on her own.
I read this book and immediately started the second one. Great characters, great suspense and sex. I love this author's work. This novella is linked to her Trident Code series.

La verdad es que ame este libro, desde el inicio y digamos que me lo leí de una.
Este es el tipo de libro que me encanta, tiene de todo y te deja al filo de la silla todo el tiempo.
Es una historia que te reta y te hace preguntarte que tiene en la cabeza cada uno de los personajes.

Omg I loved this book!! Loved the mystery behind it and can't wait to start book 2.
Mia is trying to free her brother who is in jail for allegedly drugging, raping & murdering a stripper after a Navy Seal welcome home party. Mia will do anything to prove her brothers innocence since he won't go against his Seal brothers.
Mia a acting student decides to change everything about herself and infiltrate the Seals team by trying to get info and her target is her first love who she still loves but, Grant hates her.
Mia is holding a secret behind why she left Grant when he needed her most and I can't wait to find it out.
This is my first book by this author but, I can't wait to finish the series. This one was a quick read, I'm assuming the rest are too.

Ohhh MG esta novela me tiene al borde de un colapso, entre los chicos Marines y una hermana capaz de todo por salvar su hermano, esto se puso color de hormiga.
No tengo palabras para describir la ansiedad que provoca y dices solo 1 capítulo mas y no puedes parar.
No podría escoger cual personaje es el mas relevante ya que tanto Mia como Grant son magníficos, quizas podría decir que el riezgo que corre ksenya es lo que mas me llena de adrenalina y me mantiene expectante.
Me urge saber quien es el asesino y porque.
Simplemente alucinante!!!!

Really!!
I absolutely HATE when "authors" write 5, 6 or 7 novellas totaling 80-90 pages, aka A FEW CHAPTERS (2-3) and have the nerve to charge $2.99 & up!!
These 7 novellas could all be put together and made into a COMPLETE NOVEL... *gasp* what a new wave idea!!
This just seems like a ploy by the author \publisher too make $$$
No matter how much I'm intended in see this though I WILL NOT pay $20 for 7 NOVELLAS when this could easily be a NOVEL!!!

Este libro no podía parar de leer me pareció tan profundo en interesante adictivo,me encanta la historia como se va desarrollando , amé a Ksenya es una mujer interesante ,audaz . Grant es un personaje interesante la química entre ellos dos es increíble sin duda está historia de la escritora Alana Alberston me fascinó

✨Leí la sinopsis (cosa rara en mi😅) antes de empezar a leerlo y dije “esto se va a poner bueno”, lo he leído en un suspiro y me ha quedado taaan cortito🥺����
✨Mia es una camaleón y no sólo porque ha estudiado actuación sino porque se adapta a todas las situaciones (tal vez falla un poquito cuando se a Grant🤫), me gusta la tenacidad y confianza que tiene para descubrir lo que quiere💪🏼😏
✨Grant me ha dejado con ganas de conocerlo más, en realidad quiero saber que ocurrió antes y qué secreto oculta a igual que Mía pero la autora no suelta prenda😰por lo que tendré que esperar al siguiente libro👌🏼

Muy corto. Desde aquí parten todos mis reparos porque de verdad que la trama te atrapa y se siente la necesidad de más desarrollo, sobretodo cuando la historia empieza a ser contada desde la perspectiva de Grant y Ksenya entra en escena. La conexión entre ambos es conmovedora y necesitaba mas profundidad. Diría que el mismo ritmo de la narración exige que se cuente más. Yo supongo que esto es apropósito, para desear continuar leyendo los demás libros de la serie y esta primera parte solo sirve a modo de introducción. Lo entiendo y me parece bien...
Las historias que incluyen Navy Seals siempre me han atrapado. Por la complejidad de sus personalidades y por lo cerrado que se vuelve el circulo de un equipo táctico en relación a sus misiones, estrategias, secretos, hasta traumas de guerra. Derribar las barreras de un Navy Seal es complejo y creo que es lo que hace de este tópico algo tan adictivo. Va a ser muy interesante ver como todo se desarrolla al final. Por lo pronto, necesito más.

Una historia que te atrapa desde la primera hoja,con momentos de suspenso,de traiciones,con una hermandad,que nadie habla,nadie vio nada,nadie quiere decir la verdad por miedo a....
Mia hermana de Joaquin,se somete a operaciones quirúrgicas, sólo para poder entrar al mundo de los seals,pero no de la.mejor manera( ella juro que haria hasta lo imposible por saber la verdad.
Grant un hombre que amó hasta sus huesos a esa mujer, pero que lo defraudó cuando mas Él la necesitaba,y ahora que ella pide su ayuda,lo duda?
Una trama llena emociones, con hombres que sacan hasta el oxígeno!!!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Where to start, where to start well let's start by saying ends in cliffhanger and you have to wait til February and we are in October, yeah. Then they would have you believe that main character changes her self not be recognized by her ex boyfriend and a group of navy seals while naked (stripper) hmm??? 😯take your own risk.

Holy hell this cliffhanger ending has left my jaw dropped and ready to jump into book 2 because I’m HOOKED! Mia is determined to set the record straight and exonerate her brother from a murder he didn’t commit. These Navy SEALS are all tight lipped but Grant, Mia’s ex and her brothers best friend and fellow Seal is just as determined to find out the truth himself. This is a quick read and sets the storyline up perfectly for what’s to come in the future.

I wish I'd known that this was part of a series of SEVEN books. It's a novella length story (2ish hours read) that is well written, even if the story line is fairly implausible. Plastic surgery and a fake accent- yeah.
I did get quite into the story but it felt as if JUST as we were getting somewhere it ended. A chunk of the book is setting up the story and building the characters (we have scenes from both Mia and Grant's POV). The book was a little too short for me to really get a feel for Grant but I did like Mia's character.
Most of the guy's in this book are Navy SEALS, who apparently are all into having lots of strippers and whores hanging around them at 'team only' parties. Then at the end of the night they go back to their wives and girlfriends. Oh apart from the men who have been in other books by this author, apparently they don't cheat. This felt a very cardboard- cut out 2D view of a group of men who will be as diverse in character and outlook as any other group of men.
The writing is good, the story flows well and is easy to follow. I just don't think this was for me, I didn't connect with the characters enough to want to continue the story. However I can tell that other readers would really like and enjoy this book.

I read this in one sitting...couldn't put it down. When Mia's brother is arrested for a murder she's sure he didn't commit, she is determined to find out who really killed the dead stripper. Trouble is, her brother's a SEAL, and neither he nor Grant, her ex, also a SEAL, will tell her anything. Gutsy and determined, Mia transforms herself into a woman none of them will recognize--or so she hopes--going undercover to seek the truth.
This a well-written, suspenseful tale of mystery, murder, and the reality behind the SEAL fantasy. But it's also an exploration of a failed relationship between two people who were too young and naive to make it work the first time around. Now that Mia and Grant have a second chance, I am rooting for them to get it right. But this is only part one of the story! Looking forward to seeing how it all develops!
