Olley White

I live in England and use the fenland where I live as inspiration for my writing. I love romance in stories - boy/girl, boy/boy, girl/girl...if they're in love I love them.

I love M/M fiction...Eric Arvin, Kaje Harper, Eli Easton, Heidi Cullinan, Tj Klune, Amy Lane, Rhys Ford...and soooo many more, I can't get enough man-on-man action. :D

I also adore fantasy stories, from Harry Potter to Bella, Edward & Jacob (team Jacob BTW!!), from Clary and Jace and, the oh so magnificent, Magnus Bane to Locke Lamora and Jean Tannen and the rest of The Gentleman Bastards, from Kvothe to Tyrion....yep I love fantasy.

TV wise I'm a Supernatural, Looking, Teen Wolf, Being Human, Buffy, Big Bang, QI, GoT, True Blood fan - amongst others. If it was books or TV though, books would win, hands down.

I'm married with two amazing children, a heinz 57 dog and two 'rule the roost' cats (is there any other kind?).

I write YA under the name Lori Powell (this is the profile I use most often on GR: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
and I also have a unicorn identity and that is Daisy Silver Damsel, but sssshhh, that's top secret....

It's like I willed this vignette into existence. (See my Game On review for proof.)

Whoa. Wait... That dedication! Maybe I did will this into existence?! Lori? I am the 'horn dog'? I would be ever so honoured. *bats eyelashes*

Moving on... I thought this vignette was lovely and I was so glad to be able to revisit Max and Stefan (even if it was just for a few short pages). Their First Time together was hot - both in the physical "find hole, fill hole" kinda way AND in the they-are-so-adorably-devoted-to-one-another-that-their-connection-scorches-my-heart kinda way.

The whole thing put a stupid grin on my face. <3

First, I am going to say that I did not need to read this. I felt Game On was done well without the on page sex. For me, if you have the emotion, if you have me connected and invested in the characters, I don't need to read a detailed scene about dicks going into holes, no mater how hot it could be. I read romance for the romance, not necessarily the sex... though I am aware they go together. It's simply a personal preference.

That being said. Olley White knows how to write sex with the emotions and that is what this was. Sure, this was titillating and damn hot, but you still felt the deep emotional connection that Stefan and Max have for one another.

I loved Max questioning what was going to happen and once again settling into it because of his love for Stefan. I didn't matter that two dicks would be involved, he wanted to experience this with his boyfriend and the boy he was in love with. And Stefan getting that bit of a shock from Max? Sigh. These boys still make me melt.

Thanks to Olley for devoting her time to give more of herself and give readers more of these boys. Well done, madam. Well done, indeed.

Sweet mercy.

The beauty here is the why, though the how is really lovely. Delightful interlude with Max and Stefan that leaves you with a big smile.

Damn, Lori, I am totally scandalized. That was smoking hot! I'm guessing you've had at least some experience with a peen. :D

But on a serious note, I loved this second look at Max and Stefan. l know your task was to write some nookie and you did that. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I wasn't expecting this. This was the perfect mixture of heat, sweet and romance all rolled into one perfect scene. I didn't need this and I hate to admit it but I was a little worried it would take away from the beautiful story you gave these guys in book one. I should have known better and now that I've read this I'm happy to have had more time with Max and Stefan!

Thank you, Lori/Olley! You're amazing and I can't wait to see how far you go with your writing.

LOVELY!
I remember why I loved Max & Stefan, especially Max! His foray to gay sex was I think honest and accurate enough and I loved everything that happened. It was just lovely!

Lori/Olley, I hope this is not too much, but can you write a sequel to Game On? This made me want more... :-P

Read it if you like Game On!!!

That was beautiful!! Thank you for sharing that with us! I think it was Sara who stated in her review that it wasn't needed and I completely agree, I was 100% satisfied with the story without this. Am I happy I got this? Well, YEAH!!!! Beautiful boys.

Oh Olley White, thank you so much for giving us this very dreamy piece of Stefan and Max's relationship. Damn woman, you done good!

I love Max's voice and his inner pep talk read realistically and made him that much more charming to me. Stefan is his rock and his love calms his fear and fires up his loins. The twist in the plan convinced Max, Stefan and me that there is no question these two are made for each other.

Sweet and short read if you really, absolutely must know everything about Max & Stefan from Game On

I enjoyed it on the morning commute as being inside Max's head is a trip. He's a sweetheart.

Recommended for completists i.e. ME. LOL

That was great. I just found this short story that takes place in the middle of Game On. It is their first time together, Max's first man-on-man sexual experienced. He is nervous about it, but he is confident that his lover will take very good care of him. It's love!

(2.5 stars... ehhhh) For being its own separate little book and all, it really wasn't very long or even very compelling as smut? It was pretty basic. Nothing bad, just nothing that great.

One thing that really bothers me is when m/m romance authors equate anal sex to "having sex" and everything else they do is just fooling around or something less than sex. I feel really strongly about this, as it erases the experiences of anyone (of any gender) who doesn't have penetrative sex for whatever reason. Plus just. How extremely heteronormative is it to insist that two guys banging aren't REALLY banging unless someone sticks their dick in a hole. Good lord.

This book does that (more than once eugh), and for how short it was, it was incredibly distracting to me? Soooo 2.5 stars. :/

It is very, very important to remember that this is supposed to be another chapter of the previous book, not a standalone story, as there is no real story here. It's purely sex. Sex that's hot, perhaps, but badly in need of a bit more marinating and a lot more editing so that it feels less like a first draft. That said, though, I enjoyed reading it, and I applaud the author's decision not to include it in the book itself, as it would have felt oddly graphic and out of place. If you read the first one, though, you may as well get the whole story and pick this one up, too!

I preferred these ten pages to the first book ... maybe because I considered this as a stand-alone story (exchange of promises in the early stages of the relationship is not my thing ... as I explained in the review of the first book...so my choice is for the best, I think) and I loved the message that brings with it: if there is love, he puts you at ease with your own pace and sex does not lose intensity because it's way better when you join the feelings in it.

"I love you," he said, instead, shutting his eyes and enjoying the perfect moment. "I love you too," came the sleepy reply and Max smiled to himself. He hadn't believed in soul mates until he'd met Stefan. He did now though, he believed in them with all his heart.

This little extra was soo sweet but way too short! I love these guys soo naturally I want more of them!!

This is just a short sex scene, Stefan and Max's first time.

It is cute and sweet, but I felt the descriptions lacked a certain passion and impact. Also, I felt they where a bit rushed, not very detailed. If you write an extra chapter just for the sexy times, at least make it detailed and thorough.

In my review of the first book I mention that there was no smex, and that it was okay (because the story is so sweet). Pretty much all this is is smex, and again that is okay. Sounds like the readers bugged the author for "more" and the author delivered this little enjoyable tidbit. It's always fun to read about a first time, and this was no exception.
