It’s nearly Christmas in Snowberry Minnesota, but Jay Alexander is feeling anything but jolly. Stuck in the middle of town square with a flat tire on his worn out wheelchair leaves him feeling grinchy.
December Kiss has only been in Snowberry for a few months when she happens upon this broken down boy next door. His sandy brown hair and quirky smile has her hoisting his wheelchair into the back of her four horse Cherokee. When a December romance blooms Jay wants to give December just one thing for Christmas, her brother. Will Jay get his December Kiss under the mistletoe Christmas Eve?
Katie Mettner wears the title of 'the only person to lose her leg after falling down the bunny hill' and loves decorating her prosthetic leg to fit the season. She lives in Northern Wisconsin with her own happily-ever-after and spends the day writing romantic stories with her sweet puppy by her side. Katie has an addiction to coffee and dachshunds and a lessening aversion to Pinterest — now that she’s quit trying to make the things she pins.
First thoughts after… I can't wait for Noel's story!!!
How distracted did I get? December Kiss is the perfect follow up to Snow Daze. Once again Katie Mettner has me attached to amazing characters in an awesome snowy world. Jay is a funny, independent, sweet, hottie mctottie. I wanted to know more about him since I read Snow Daze. He has a good heart and is a protector/helper of family and friends. December, I love her. She has a fun sense of humor and an innocence about her that is endearing and she is also a caretaker. The connection between Jay and December is amazing and engaging. If you're looking for a great romance that pulls at your heart strings this is the book for you.
I read Snow Daze (the first book in A Snowberry Christmas series) last November and couldn't wait for this book -- December Kiss. Ms. Mettner has once again written a story that dealt with serious issues but she did it in an easy-to-relate kind of way. I could picture her characters - Jay and December - vividly. I felt what they felt - the tenderness, the struggles, angst, and joy. I liked how the author used a secondary character - Sunny -- to give the reader even more moments of awe. There were a few surprises along the way too. This story touched my heart and I had no choice but to fall in love with the characters.
I been waiting for a follow up from Snow Daze and Katie delivered! I love reading from a guys point of view. I love being able to visualize the characters every day life. Which is what happened I felt like I was part of Jay and Decembers life. I was a part of their daily life from morning to night. What I loved most is how Jay given his shyness and his must to be independent gives into Decemebers charms and let's her help him. I didn't want it to end and don't want to give any more away. This is a must read!
In the small town of Snowberry Minnesota, Jason (Jay) gets stuck when his wheelchair breaks down. December Kiss, new girl in town, sees his him and decides to help. They build a friendship, which looks like it may lead to more. Jay is loving and kind and wants to gift her with a present money can't buy. Will he be able to give her what he feels she really needs?
A fast paced original story with an engaging plot based on family, friendship, and love. Both Jay and December are very likable. Jay has some challenges to overcome. December is loving and caring, she deserves the best out of life, and Jay may be the answer. December Kiss is heart warming and very enjoyable. I strongly suggest to those who love a (great) sweet romance.
Really enjoyed this couple. Great story, I love it when books also have characters from the series it is like catching up with old friends. Sunny is a ray of sunshine. Highly recommend.
I hadn't planned to read another of Katie's books for this year's December blog, but she offered a copy and I could hardly resist with this one last date open. What an enjoyable afternoon I spent with this Christmas read!
Jay Alexander was the youngest of the Alexander brood, Dully's youngest brother. He had special circumstances as he was born with spina bifada and spent his days in a wheelchair.....a very old and dilapidated untrustworthy wheel chair. December Kiss was an RN at Providence Hospital in Snowberry Minnesota. Their chance meeting and the romance that followed was a delight.
Katie Mettner writes spicy Christian romance stories about individuals who may endure special circumstances, but rise above all of it in their dreams and desires. This story slowly revealed the painful truths in both Jay and Decembers pasts. Although, they could have been driven forever apart, they strengthened their friendship and a budding romance began to build. There was just one occurence of intimacy, that was not too explicit and I appreciated that. The storyline was realistic and two people who had been wounded by their pasts, found peace with one another, strength together and joy.
This was the kind of Christmas story I could enjoy wholeheartedly. It was not rushed and flowed smoothly from start to finish.
Once again the author has wrapped these characters around my heart. I am so in love with this series. My heart ached for Jay as I read his story but once he meets December their love soars and the story just wraps you in the story. I was smiling, laughing, & teary eyed. The feelings just come off the page and pull you in. The story inspires you and makes you feel like the characters are part of your real life. Can't wait to move to the next in the series.
The characters act in unbelievably irrational ways. The main female character introduces the guy she has been seeing for one month to her estranged brother as her fiance--and has no explanation for it other than she panics? And the guy goes along with it, and proposes to her? And the dialogue between the characters is embarrassingly sentimental and unrealistic. Just not my cup of tea.

In small town Snowberry, Minnesota Jay has wheelchair problems and December Kiss offers him help. What follows is a friendship that they both didn't know they needed.
This quick read is book two of the Snowberry Series and has family dynamics, romance, love and shows the value of friendships. While it could be a stand alone, it was fun seeing what Snow and Dully from book one (Snow Daze) are doing! I looked forward to reading book three!
In this romance it was fun to read about the perspective of a man in a wheelchair falling in love with an able-bodied woman. I find the accessibility factor to be a dream where they live, but those of us with disabilities know this is pure fiction. This is a very good book and I definitely recommend it!
I loved Jay and December's story! It was my first time coming across Katie's books. First time I have ever read a romance novel with a disabled character. Having the same disability as Jay I could relate to the store. Just hope I find a love like that
I really enjoyed the plot, premise, and characters in this book. The disability rep was great and it's what drew me to this title and author. Unfortunately...there was just something missing for me that kept this from being a new favorite. I wanted it to be but something about the writing style kept me from getting lost in the story...nothing came alive for me.
This is a Jay and December’s love story. Jay is having a brilliant wheeler chair made for him to try out. This is when he meets December she is on the team making it. They both have issues to work out in the relationship but it is a lovely story to read.
Sweet romance. Jason Alexander is a recent college graduate, in a wheelchair due to spina bifida. Sparks fly when nurse December Kiss rescues him after he gets a flat tire on his chair. Story showing that handicaps don’t define the person and normal human relationships are possible.
Susanah collapse in chapter 17 is not explained, although earlier in book groundwork was donebrcause of herproblem with eye. She's able to help with wedding. ???
I wanted to like this, but I suppose this is really not my style. It is very rooted in religion, which is just completely not my thing. I also felt like the emotions were somewhat contrived... a lot of people have the same reaction to so many different things (almost always eyes filling with grateful tears), so I found it to be very predictable.
