Secrets of Stone #3

No Perfect Princess

Rate this book
The Stones are back. Let the OMGs begin. Angel Payne and Victoria Blue's
explosive series continues. Are you ready for Margaux and Michael's story?

What came first? The princess or the shoes? And does it really matter?

My name is Margaux Asher. Don't be afraid to ask how it's spelled though I may enlighten you, anyway. Yes, I'm that Margaux Asher. The attitude icon. The bitch in the latest heels. The princess of the PR game.

Just don't bring up the queen.

Mommie and I aren't on comfortable terms. Last winter, I learned a secret that Andrea Asher has hidden from me since my birth--by another woman. And my real father? Josiah Stone, one of the world's richest men. Dream come true, right?

There's a lot of baggage attached to that answer. And now, Michael Pearson wants to help me open it.

Michael. My six-foot-three, golden god of a dilemma. He's patient, indulgent--anddon't get me started on his passion--but he wants too much. He wants all the secrets. What would he say if he knew my birthright was only the start of my life's mess? What would he do if he learns...I'm no perfect princess?

Someday, my princess will come...

The apple never falls far from the tree? Depends on who you ask.

I'm Michael Pearson. Son of an apple farmer. First family member to graduate college, move to the big city, and work for one of the most prestigious PR firms in the country. I'm the success, the star--

And the sap who's fallen for the boss's daughter.

So technically, Margaux isn't Andrea's daughter anymore. Doesn't matter to the rest of the company--and the world--who vilify her as they always have. But where they see a she-snake, I see a terrified girl in the woods, yearning for a place where she's accepted, loved. Every time I volunteer my arms to be that place, she ducks deeper into her shell, pushing me away with more fear and anger. Her facade thickens every day, making me more determined to learn what magic kiss will set her free, so she can finally see the truth...

I don't want her to be perfect. I just want her to be mine.

This book was kind of funny to me.
You have two extremely stubborn people.
Both with two totally different personalities, yet they find themselves drawn to one another, but neither of them are wanting to admit how they really feel about each other and continue to friend zone each other.

Micheal is a lawyer, but has put his life on hold to back and help his mother on their farm for a while.

Margaux is a no bulls**t, strong headed, hot ass PR that works with Michael. She’s admired, but feared at the same time.

Shes stand offish, holding on to secrets of her own that she will go to any length not to expose. But when her friendship grows with Micheal, the more she trusts him, the more she opens up to him and the more she fears her secrets will come to surface. Over time, the friendship turns into more than that. It becomes flirty banter to begin with but as we dive deeper into the plot, you can see how they feel about each other. But Micheal continues to keep his feelings at bay, tries to keep her in the friends zone but struggles to.

Micheal goes and works on the farm, but is it really to help his mother? Or is there more reason behind it? To escape Margaux and the desire and passion he has for her? Will the time apart held him move on? Will it be good for their friendship? what was meant to be a few weeks turns into 6 months on the farm and both think that the time away will do them some good and that the feelings they both hold for each other will subside. But will they really?

On Michaels return things start to get intense, and not exactly in a good way. So much is happening in this books, so much desire, passion, longing, betrayal, hurt, lies, blackmailing and so much more.
This book really has it all!

I couldn’t put the book down, such a page turning and I didn’t expect anything less from Angel Payne and Victoria Blue. They both work so well together and deliver such amazing stories and this was no exception!

5 Stars from me.
MUST READ
Preferably in order so you can understand the character better, their stories better.

~*~ 3.5 STARS ~*~

No Perfect Princess by Angel Payne and Victoria Blue can be read as a standalone, but I whole-heartily recommend reading the first two books in the series prior, because you are coming in on a pretty major secret that we found out in the second book of the series. I always enjoy when these two authors get together. They have a similar style, so the storytelling ends up flowing nicely and seamlessly. They both have this, I'm going to call it a flamboyant style of writing. It's out there and sometimes cooky, but it in no way deters from the story. It just fits and makes the story that much enjoyable to follow.

If you've read my reviews on the first two books in the series, you know that I am in complete love with Killian Stone and Claire's romance. It's epic and beautiful and everything in between. That being said, this dynamic duo had to someway top that love story. That has to be pretty difficult with expectations being so high. Unfortunately, Margaux and Michael's story didn't reach that level for me. I couldn't connect with Margaux as much as I wanted to. I didn't have a good impression of her from the other books, and that carried over into this one. I did like Michael's character. I liked how he was sweet and loving, and just an all around good guy, but when he was around this woman, his inner beast came out, and he wanted to explore that part of him, even though he was afraid of it. When Michael went away for all those months in the beginning, I would have loved to read more about what he did while he was away. In the story, he was just there and then he was back. I wanted more of what went through his mind while he was away, and what was the ultimate deciding factor of why he came back.

The enemies to friends to lovers dynamic was interesting to me. It was a slow burning build of emotions that did keep me intrigued. There is a back and forth of emotional walls being torn down and then built back up that drove me a bit crazy.
Michael stole the show in No Perfect Princess. This nice guy with a filthy mouth made me melt. Towards the end Margaux grew on me a bit. With Michael's love, she discovered that she was worthy, worthy of him and worthy of his love. The emotional topics in this story broke and mended my heart over and over again, making No Perfect Princess an overall good romance read.

Killian fans, you will be excited to see a side of Mr. Stone that will make you melt. Get some tissues for this one ladies.

My Rating:

3.5

Favorite Quotes:

“The woman could flip any statement into verbal sex.”

“And I thought his mouth was talented? His fingers needed to have their own insurance policy.”

“I had comeback lines for every insult people could dream up, but responding eloquently to his adoration and kindness? I was lost worse than the Galactica.”

“I really wasn’t sure I remembered who I was. This felt like one of those loopy after death scenes in B movies, where the dearly departed floats over their body and watches life in a mix of wonder and horror.”

“They did some variation on the guy greeting, bumping fists and shaking hands and slamming shoulders in a language more mysterious than dogs sniffing each other’s butts.”

My Review:

I am struggling to write this review and decide on a rating. While it was billed as part of a series that could be read as a stand-alone, I believed I would not have grappled with the story as much had I read the earlier books in the series. I almost gave up the 30% mark when I felt the story was stalled and circling tediously. Plus, the book was 80% angst, which is admittedly, not my favorite thing, and I had a hard time caring about Margaux, she is selfish, mean, and nasty, and not someone I would want to spend time with. I adored and had great empathy for Michael Pearson, and enjoyed the back story, plot twists, smart banter, and generous sprinklings of pop culture references, and during the occasional brief reprieves from the angst and when main characters stopped dithering, and circling each other, there was clever humor, snarky wit, and sizzling sensuality. When the epiphany finally hit and Margaux leapt into action, it was almost worth wading through the rest of the story. But if you relish angst, you will be in your element.

What an amazing book, so many emotions running through it, Margaux and Michael’s story is beautiful!!
Loved the protective, sassy, strong side of Margaux also her tender side, the way she talked to Claire was so sweet, I hated her on the first book, she got on my nerves on this one, but I absolutely loved her and don’t get me started on Michael, he is perfect, loved his passion, determination, he is so caring and just a perfect representation of a perfect man, I loved him as well and together they are a Bomb!!!
Angel and Victoria are a wonderful team and I cannot wait to continue this series, it has really captivated me!!

No Perfect Princess by the magical duo of Angel Payne and Victoria Blue is the third amazing book in the Secrets of Stone series. Based off the first two books, I just knew it was going to be another of my favorites, but there was a twist in it for me. In the first book, No Prince Charming, I absolutely hated Margaux Asher. Hated to the point where I wanted to tear her apart. It just figures that Angel Payne and Victoria Blue would turn it around and make me not hate her anymore. After my review for NPC, Angel warned me about No Perfect Princess and blew my ever-loving mind. No details about it other than who the heroine is. My head hurt so much from trying to process it. I never once thought that I could ever love a character that I absolutely despised. And boy did Victoria Blue prove me wrong. Yes, Victoria, you can take your bow. No one has ever done that in any of the books I’ve ever read!

Margaux Asher is the daughter of the owner of one of the prestigious public relations firms that Michael Pearson works for. But as the title of the series says, she has secrets. A shameful (to her) secret and a painful secret. The way she opens little by little to Michael is just part of what made me love her. Margaux was someone who manipulated people like she did facts and public perception. She didn’t seem to care about just what her actions did to others. When her world was upended, I believe that the hidden part of Margaux started to come out. The part that I needed to see. The vulnerable part was what I believe that drew Michael to her, despite all her bluster and bravado. There were parts of Margaux that I saw in myself…and that shocked me, especially because I really hated her prior to this book! LOL!

Michael Pearson also has secrets. Some that were revealed, and some I fear that will be in the next book. (Hint hint Angel and Victoria, I need No Magic Moment like now. LOL!) I was only a fraction of the way in and I messaged both of them asking, “where are Michael’s balls???” I am a woman who thoroughly enjoys alpha males. Probably because I’m always attracting the ones that are…let’s just say not alphas. To be honest, I really thought that Michael was going to be like that. Margaux is a ball buster. Like I am. You know how people often say that opposites attract? Well I thought that their story was going to be one where it proved those people right. I was wrong. People are often the ones that often mindfuck themselves so badly that they ignore their instincts…and their hearts. I believe Michael was one of those. However, when he brought out his alpha side…holy hotness!

I must be honest. I finished reading No Perfect Princess a week ago. It took me so long to write this review because I feel so deeply when it comes to Angel and Victoria’s work. I was a bit hungover from the emotional blitz I went through with this book. I had a couple moments of pure glee about two other characters from the previous two books that are important parts of Margaux’s life (and are in this book) and one devastating moment that broke my heart because I could sympathize with the situation. One other thing that made me love Margaux was how she was there at the perfect time with the perfect heart though she’s No Perfect Princess. I really enjoyed watching Margaux and Michael (M&M…I love M&Ms!) find each other and the bring out the beauty in each other. Seeing as I’m new to the Secrets of Stone series, I have been warned a little bit about the rest of the series. Angel and Victoria, should I stock up on tissues and fortify my furniture now or later?

Thank you Angel Payne and Victoria Blue for another amazing adventure. I can’t wait for the rest!

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

After finishing reading No Perfect Princess by Angel Payne and Victoria Blue, I am totally and completely emotionally exhausted from the amazing journey I was taken on. I started off yelling at the main characters because of their blindness, and let’s face it, stupidity. Next up was crying as they both dealt with a lot of emotional baggage. Then I was screaming with happiness as they finally figured things out until I ended up back at crying as these two people finally reached their well-deserved happy ending. I couldn’t ask for more from an author, or pair of authors, and I will be thinking about Margaux and Michael long after I put down their story.

No Perfect Princess is the third story in the Secrets of Stone series but this time we focused on Margaux and Michael. For me, these two were interesting choices for a heroine and hero. First of all, if you have read the first two books in the series, then you know that Margaux is not the nicest person and at first glance there is nothing about her that would solicit sympathy and understanding. Michael was briefly mentioned but never stood out. Yet Ms. Payne and Ms. Blue must have felt that this two characters had a deeper side that would make them intriguing because here they are starring in their own novel. Well, I should have learned long ago to never doubt Ms. Payne’s muse and I am quickly learning that Ms. Blue is also a force to be reckoned with because they were absolutely correct!

What makes me so impressed with this writing duo is that they took this seemingly ice cold princess and showed the reader her softer, human side without really changing who she is on the inside. As we got more glimpses into Margaux’s background, her need to protect herself with a snarky attitude begins to make sense. As she learned to let Michael into her heart and soul, she still maintained that sarcasm that made me laugh. I also loved that Michael didn’t want to change her. In fact, he loved her attitude and the foibles that another man might have been annoyed by. He also had his own demons to work through and Margaux proved to be the perfect person to inspire him.

I am always impressed when a team of writers gets together and produces a seamless story as if written by one author. Ms. Payne and Ms. Blue must have worked with one mind on this story because I could not point out who wrote what. The dialogue, the actions, the emotions were so real that it was easy to forget that I was reading about fictional characters. There were plenty of twists and turns in the story to keep me glued to my e-reader and there were definitely those “Oh, no they didn’t” moments that made me scream.

While you could read No Perfect Princess as a standalone, I really recommend reading the whole series to really delve into Margaux’s character as well as understand some important plot points. Now that I have been pulled into this world, there are so many more characters that I hope to see in future Secrets of Stone books. And based on the ending, it looks like more will definitely be coming.

**Book provided by the author for an honest review**

Previously in the Secrets of Stone...

Margaux Asher, the daughter of the PR tycoon Andrea, had a bomb dropped on her that turned her world upside down, sideways, and inside out! Slowly but surely Margaux's ice cold heart has melted and grown and allowed Margaux to have feelings for other people besides herself! She has an awesome friend in her step-sister Claire, and a growing fondness for her big brother Killian. After spending some time with Michael, a previous co-worker from the PR Firm her mother owned, the sexual tension between them becomes too great to ignore and bursts out causing a big shit storm!

With Killian and Claire preparing for their wedding, Margaux begins to see how great life can be with loving partner, but the thought of opening up and letting someone in scares the crap out of her! Michael has had it bad for Margaux from day one, but feared rejection so kept his distance, until his throbbing brain couldn't take it anymore! Haha... gotcha! Perv!

I loved reading about Margaux the notorious Princess Ice Bitch! I hated her so much in the first book, now I like her damn it! Hearing her inner monologues was very enlightening and humorous! It wasn't her fault she didn't know how to have a relationship with someone, her mother really fucked her up! Then to get to know Michael was awesome! He was briefly mentioned in the first book, and I don't think at all in the second one, so it was nice to get to know one of the side characters and have them brought forth into the spotlight. Captain America, what a guy... He is gorgeous, muscular, sweet, and thoughtful, but had some issues of his own from his childhood, but not as severe as Margaux's.

The plot was very on par with the storyline from the previous books, carrying over the drama with the Stone family, which is what I hoped for since there was still a lot that needed closure. The twist in the plot, or I should say knife, was excellent! Just the right amount of evil to add flavor, I loved it! The sexy times were aplenty in this book as well, to fulfill any naughty needs you may have ;) I can't wait to read more about Margaux and Michael, and see how things turn out for them in the final end, but this wasn't it, so be prepared. It wasn't a cliffhanger, but it's not over! Until next time, be safe, wear a condom.

I've read a couple of Angel's books before (from the WILD Boys of Special Forces) and really enjoyed them - the lady knows how to write down and dirty!!! ;)

I started reading No Perfect Princess with not a clue that it was the third book in the series but that didn't affect my understanding of what was going on or my enjoyment of the story. I'd say it can easily be read as a standalone.

I loved the banter between the main characters and individually I thought both were great.

Margaux - she's cool. Ok, she can be a bit of a snot but when she let's her guard down and forgets to put on the act she's 'real' - though there were times when I wanted to bloody strangle the damned woman!
I liked the indecisive path her thoughts and emotions took. She could be bitchy and was hard as fuck in business but we got a glimpse of the mellowed softer side that might just be coerced out if Michael ever got his finger out of his arse!!!!

Michael, hmmmmmm, what can I say about him but hell, where can I find a Michael?!?!
He's hotHotHOT, funny with a great sense of humour and mischief, so very sexy, filthy dirty minded and mouthed... gods, the man is definitely up there with my favourite BBFs.... he could sext me up any time!!
I loved his internal dialogue when he was driving home and had to stop...... you'll know what I'm talking about when you read it!

The sex scenes, when we got to them, nearly burned my kindle out - the one in the barn and then in the field... fuck me, they were smokin' HOT!!!!

There is a great cast of supporting characters - good and bad (IMHO, if you can write a bad guy that readers really hate, that's good writing right there!!)
Trey - my gods, he's a total prick!!! Andrea is a complete bitch - the woman can't stoop too low it seems..
I loved Di, Michaels mum. Killian & Claire were fab as was Alfred and I adored Andre - He's awesome!!!

The gals have given us a great book. If you didn't know that 2 authors were involved you'd never guess that was the case, the story flowed and the whole thing was seamless.
I'm gonna go back and read the other 2 in the series when I have the chance and I can't wait to see what's coming in book 4!!!!

A solid 4* for me!!!

I rec'd an ARC for an honest review from Angel Payne. This is book #3, the 1st in the series is NO PRINCE CHARMING, the 2nd is NO MORE MASQUERADE in THE SECRETS of STONE SERIES. This book is Margaux and Michael's story. Margaux Asher has hidden secrets, she was adopted by Andrea( mommy dearest)a cold-hearted BITCH, she received no kindness or love growing-up which is why she is given the nickname the Ice Princess as an adult, and doesn't know how to love or be loved. She is lonely, lost and afraid to get close to anyone, until she met Michael, she let down her walls let him in then put them back up and ran!! She was raised in a world of privilege (a collector of expensive shoes) and found out on her biologic father's death bed that her birth name is Mary Stone heir to the Stone empire, a secret she keeps from the world, living as Margaux Asher. Michael Pearson grew up as a child to apple farmers, not privileged and is now a lawyer who works for Andrea and Margaux. He always knew he could thaw the ice princess and get to know the real Margaux,so he forges a friendship with her hoping for more. He has his own secrets about his not perfect childhood, which is why he is so close with his mother. He is willing to fight for her body, mind and soul. Can she learn to love/be loved and trust? Will he give up after she lets him in repeatedly then runs and avoids him over and over? Killian and Claire do make appearances in this book, we get updates on their story and the continuation of their romance/marriage. This story also contains hot alpha protective males, Michael when Margaux 's life if threatened physically by the family bad boy Trey and Killian when Claire has a health issue. This book is a can't put me down read, draws you in and won't let you go!! Well developed characters and well written fast paced erotic romance with suspense, humor, physical violence and lots of dirty sexy bedroom talk. Read the books in order not stand alone. MUST READS!!!!! Angel Payne and Victoria Blue ANOTHER GREAT BOOK!!!!! Looking forward to more books in t his series!!! This book is for mature readers over 18, due to content.
5 plus stars if I could!!!

This is book 3 of the Secrets of Stone series. When I got this review, I didn't realize this was the third installment of a series & I worried about being lost…….

Well I wasn't really lost. I was able to follow the story line really well. It definitely got me interested in reading the first 2 books. Bt definitely can be read as a stand alone , you will just have some questions that will want to be answered.

Margaux Asher….A take no crap "Princess of PR". People fear her, men want her. She has secrets of her own that she doesn't want anyone to know about, so she keeps people at length. But she has fallen into a steady friendship with Michael Pearson. Slowly the friendship has changed into some light flirting……then well, she wants more but Michael is being a boy scout and keeping everything "G" rated or at least Margaux thinks so. Margaux has had enough! She wants to push him away, Michael is pushing back emotionally. He wants ins. And this scares Margaux. What makes things harder…They work at the same PR firm.

Michael Pearson- A doting son is putting his law career on hold to go home to help his mama on the family farm for a few weeks. Or is he putting some space between him & Margaux. A few weeks turns into 6 months!! Both Michael & Margaux feels this time apart will be good for them. Margaux feels she can get over her growing feelings for Michael. Little do both of them know that those embers burn hotter than ever when he returns. And Margaux is pissed!!!!!

There is so much involved in their story, but I suck at giving spoilers away so I am stopping while I'm ahead I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the first 2 books. I need the whole

story!

This book is part of a Series.. I recommend reading the Series in order though you could read as a standalone, but you would miss the background of Characters.

This was an excellent continuation of the Stone Series. This book had some killer HOT and steamy scenes. Just when you think there is not anyone that could compare..

Margaux.. Do I dare say that Margaux the ice princess has grown on me? Don't get me wrong there are still moments that you want to strangle her, but she has definitely melted down from the harsh and cold woman she once was. She has overcome a lot and started to grow as a person. Margaux has always had it all material wise, but she always lacked love in her life. That is until Micheal. I really love how she lets him in piece by piece. She has always been a manipulator and knows how to spin the truth to make it seem more appealing. She has never really cared how she seems to others... Until now.. Can Michael get through to her? You do get to see more into her piece by piece.. There could be more to come..

Michael also harbors many secrets. It took him a bit to grow on me.. I initially thought he would come out being the strong dominant male, but it took some time. I suppose Margaux could be overwhelming. She definitely has a strong presence and is used to getting what she wants how she wants it. When he finally did come out though... OMG... HOT HOT HOT! I cannot wait to see how this story continues. I have a feeling we may learn more secrets as the Series continues.

I can honestly still not stand Trey and Andrea.. He is such a self centered jerk and she is still awful as ever!

I am excited to dig into book 4 :)

No Perfect Princess is the third book in The Secrets of Stone series. This book may be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading book 1 No Prince Charming and book 2 No More Masquerade first.

This story is simply amazing! Angel Payne and Victoria Blue really blew the top off with this one! From the first chapter to the very last this book had my full complete attention. I laughed, I cried and there were moments when I said "Oh S***!" I was emotionally exhausted by the time the heroine and hero found their never ending love for each other.

This book is Marguax and Michael's story. Marguax Asher, the ice princess grew up in a life of privilege, lies and secrets. Michael Pearson grew up on an apple farm and is now a lawyer. He has his own secrets from his childhood. When they become fri9ends Michael quickly realizes he wants more and is willing to fight for her. Can she learn to open up, trust and love Michael? Will he run away after learning all her secrets or will he be the Alpha male that she desperately needs to take over her heart, mind, body and soul?

This book draws you in and keeps you on edge all the way through. The collaboration of Angel Payne and Victoria Blue in this story is off the charts. It amazes me how two very talented authors can write as one and make it seems so effortless. The emotional rollercoaster in this story has made No Perfect Princess one of my all time favorite book because I think we all a little Marguax Asher inside of us.

4.5 Captivating Stars!!!

No Perfect Princess is my first ever read from Angel Payne and Victoria Blue.
I started late in this series by missing out on the first two books which I will be going back and reading. Thankfully thought it did not hinder my reading experience with No Perfect Princes. This story can be read as a standalone. However I am really looking forward to reading the first two books in this series.

This is Margaux and Michael's story and what a story it was. My emotions was running wild.

Margaux "Ice Princess" is a very complex women. She is a known PR Icon with a closet full of secrets from her past. She doesn't let anyone close to her out of fear they will find out about her past. Michael is a lawyer and he has his own set of secrets. He has fallen in head over heels in love with the Ice Princess, but he can't seem to break down her walls. He feels insecure about himself. Their worlds are different he grew up on an Apple Farm and Margaux has money and Fame and he feels she is way out of his league.

Margaux and Michael engage in this witty ongoing banter that had me chuckling often. The ups and downs for these two seem never ending. There is a surprising twist I did not see coming.

This has been a fantastic read. I can not wait to go back and read the first two books in this series.

I recommend this read.

I was given this book for my honest review

Margaux Asher… Completed me. I didn’t know whether to laugh out loud or puke my guts out. Neither was the right call, considering that my dick still pulsed against her walls, and I’d barely relented my lock on her wrists. Afterglow, asshole, Remember? Michael’s thoughts

Margaux-pretty, scared

Michael-hunky and so hot

What do you get when you mix chocolate, marshmallow, and gram crackers? Heaven the delectable taste with the forbidden calories with just the right amount of torture that we provide for ourselves when craving the attainable but unattainable at the same time. This is Michael and Margaux’s journey.

There is no way in writing a review of this stature without giving a hint of glimmer in ones eyes of that of Michael and Margaux each of these characters have hidden secrets that lie within themselves the tortures that they keep hidden is that of many but within these pages the sultry vixen that comes out of Margaux is a sight to witness. The sexual explosions that pop out of the pages is nothing short of earth shattering. The truths that may be revealed will have you turning your heads and saying “Oh Wow”. Keep the screaming towel on hand all for the ground is going to be rocking for sure.

To the author: wow is all I have to say. Kudos

Happy Reading

I received a copy of this book from the authors.

I met Margaux Asher and hated her like everyone else and then the bomb was dropped and I felt sorry for her. I am sure Margaux would hate to read that sentiment but it is truthful. She has lived a crazy life of priviledge but never really having love and caring. She finds that in Michael.

Michael is in crazy obsessive love with Margaux but thinks that a woman of her wealth is not really going to love a simple Apple Farmer who happens to work at the Agency she worked for. He treats her like a glass doll.

The two of them do a lot of pushing each other away and never wanted to admit their feeling. Michael finally admits his feelings and we think Margaux will jump on board but her old life is thrown back in her face. This new plot twist causes her and Michael is have troubles AGAIN.

I liked the story but felt that Margaux got to be a little bit annoying. Even thought Michael proved that he was a good guy and one that could be trusted she still pushed him away. I did love that Michael would push back and not accept her reasons but still I got a little tired of her running.

Margaux and Michael ... simply Marvellous

This 3rd book in the Secrets of Stone Series is undoubtedly the best so far!!! Don't get me wrong I loved Claire and Killian's story....but this one is brilliant.
My dislike for Margaux is the previous book was huge but after reading this one .... I absolutely adore her.
Margaux and Michael are the perfect fit.
She, a woman who has had everything her heart desired from an early age - except love.
He, who has always had love, but has had to work and earn his way into having everything else.
When these two collide the fireworks certainly go BOOM!!!
Margaux is an ice princess and breaking down her icy walls is not an easy thing to achieve. Michael is fascinated by Margaux, accepting her for who she is and not wanting to change her at all.
Angel Payne and Victoria Blue have written an outstanding book. Bringing together two completely opposite characters and making them work together beautifully.
Congratulations ladies, a superb novel!!!
Looking forward to #4 in the series.
I just wish I could have given it more than 5*****

To everyone Margaux Asher is an ice princess, a spoiled little brat and someone who gets what she wants, but the one thing she wants the most is a guy she can't have or for her, doesn't deserve. She thinks love is not in her life and doesn't believe in it, but when he doesn't go away and keeps pushing himself in, what is a girl supposed to do? Love this book! In book 1 and 2 you don't ever get to see the real Margaux, you see what others see. But in this book, her own story, we see a whole different person! She has gone through so much in her life and always gets kicked down but still the problems don't leave her alone. Her life is spun upside down one more time the day Josiah Stone dies and she still holds her head up high, even though she's breaking inside. Michael is the only that has broken through the barrier and sees who she really is. Angel and Victoria did an amazing job with this book! Can't wait to read the next one!

Michael Pearson and Margaux Asher. The apple farmer /Lawyer and the bitchy/social troubleshooting/princess. They have nothing in common except their work history and a few friends. But there is also that inferno of desire they have for one another. He's wanted her almost from the moment he met her but decided she was out of his league. She wants him too but does not want to drag such a nice guy into her trainwreck of a life. Passion will not be denied and they sure can steam up the windows but love is off the table...until you can't deny it anymore.
Michael has dark secrets about his past that he shares with no one. Margaux has secrets about her present life that she needs to keep everyone away from. As they battle their desires they also fight their private battles. An innocent request for a weekend away together leaks some of both their secrets and may destroy what they are building. Can love conquer all? You really should find out! :)

No better title than No Perfect Princess for this story. Margaux is a force to be reckoned with. You pretty much couldn't stand her in book 1 and in book two you could tell you judged her completely wrong. But finally getting her story, my oh my this woman is a tornado and Michael is a tornado chaser. Trying to understand and predict what will come next. You truly see Margaux walls come down thanks to Michael. But not only him, her relationship with Claire and Killian is a bond they all needed. You could tell she tried to fight all the gooey love feelings she had but when she finally realized that there was nothing wrong with it, she started to shine. Michael is a saint with some dirty thrown in. They make the perfect pair and all the relationships strengthen in this storyline.

Princess perfect?

Margaux Asher, has been lied to about her true identity, her entire life. After learning the truth, her life seems to turn upside down.
Michael Pearson, a former coworker, of Margaux's, has had a crush on her for a long time, but has kept his feelings at bay, and staying in the friend zone, until, he couldn't fight his feelings any longer.
I'm this book, you have love, lies, betrayals, blackmail and lots of revelations. Will true love bind Margaux and Michael? Or will more secrets keep them separated? this is the 3rd book in the Secrets of Stone Series. Angel and Victoria, did an amazing job, as always.

No Perfect Princess

Talk about 2 stubborn people who seem to want to be happy but just throw every curve ball imaginable out there to stop it from happening- add Michael & Margaux to that list too!! Though their chemistry is off the charts, they can’t keep it together long enough to make things work. One of them is always running away!! Talk about roller coaster emotions, hot love scenes, and plenty of sadness and drama, this book has it all! There is also love!! I loved this book so much - can’t wait to read the next one!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So close to 4 stars!!

I adore the Secrets of Stone series and the writers, which makes this so difficult not to rate higher. No Perfect Princess is a spicy and fun romance read, but something is just not quite there. Maybe I have such high expectations from the earlier books or because I just couldn't fully connect with Michael and Margaux. Still I would recommend this book to other romance readers.

After finding out you are not really who you are and your life gets flipped upside down you end up finding love on the end. It was not an easy journey with blackmail in between but everything in the end turn out. If you hated Margaux in the other novels I can tell you that your opinion will change... You will end up feeling bad for her and want her to get her happy ever after. Awesome job as always Angel and Victoria..

What are they talking about?

It started slow for me. Why can't a story be in plain words and constant metaphors? I could skip paragraphs and still understand the jist of the chapter. I hate sound dumb and simple, but I think story would have been better without the metaphors. I still liked the book.

Well this story is one to keep you captured, and on the edge of your seat throughout it all. Margaux and Michael are just ment to be. If only the stubbornness of them both could stop. Will they get through their trials and hurdles to finally see what's meant to be?
This is a must read for sure! Can't wait to get No Magic Moment to see where things lead.

Ok – I’m not going to lie – this was a tough book to get through. Like really tough. I understand the need for this branch of the story since Claire and Killian seem to be in a good place, but at times this was really painful.

What we have here is the introduction to a more human side of Margaux – the girl who’s live has been turned upside down after learning that her mom isn’t her mom, that she’s a Stone and realizing that everything she knew was a lie. She’s trying to figure out who she is now that she’s not living that life anymore, and at the same time, hiding from what can be amazing if she let her walls down.

At the same time, we get to learn more about Michael – Claire’s best friend from Asher and Associates. There were moments in the first few books that i wondered why he never made a play for Claire – they seemed so close and yet they never crossed that line. In this installment, we get to see why. He’s had strong feelings for someone else this whole time and has only barely acted upon it in fear of not being enough.

This is where the fairy tale / night mare of Margaux and Michael begins. She seems to think that he’s too sensitive and vanilla for her and yet she doesn’t know his dark past, one that makes him exactly the kind of man she wants. It’s only through a series of events that we get to see that what they think they need is what they have.

There are so many weird turns that this story takes that i get lost. Michael has to go home to take care of some family stuff yet we don’t quite figure out the crux of the history behind it all. We know that he and his uncle have a dicey relationship that’s quite contentious, but i couldn’t figure out why. We also know that Michael’s mother has a restraining order against someone but i haven’t figured that one out either. (maybe i missed it when i struggled with this story).

Then, there’s Trey Stone. A man who just won’t go down without a fight. In this week’s episode of ‘what will he do next’ – we learn that Blackmail is on the menu and he’s after Margaux for that one. Demanding $5 Million Dollars in a matter of days or he’ll go public with her sealed secrets from years past. Margaux of course doesn’t want that to happen, and also wonders how he learned about these secrets in the first place, but as a result, starts the domino effect of ‘the end of Michael and Margaux’

From this point on, i spend much of the book confused, skimming forward quickly to get past some of the ‘on the surface’ romance scenes to find something deeper to hold on to and then wondering if i missed something in between. There are admissions of feelings, pushing people away, secrets and lies that are forced, and unhappiness all around.

Thrown in the middle of all this is a scene or two that have to do with Killian and Claire’s future, but it feels like it’s an island in the midst of the story.

Suffice it to say, I’m not in love with this book. I think there is potential, but it was just missed. The redeeming factor was that there was an interesting/yet semi expected twist of a relationship here that i’m still intrigued to find out about, that perhaps book four will get us there. That and the glimpse of a mystery woman that we KNOW will be a focus for the next book as well. So….yes, i’m going to keep going with this series since i don’t let books beat me…but i may take a quick break to read the latest release of another series first. Enjoy (hopefully)

The Ice Princess Melts...

Margaux Asher is reeling from finding out in one swift swoop that Andrea Asher is not her mother and that she is the daughter of Josiah Stone. Yes, she is a Stone. How does the frosty Margaux handle such news? She puts on her game face that she does so well and closes everything and everyone out. That especially includes Michael Pearson.

Michael Pearson, country born boy that becomes a successful force in the world and works for one of the most prominent PR firms in the country. One and the same as where Margaux works. Michael Pearson stands at a distance, waiting in the wings for Margaux to notice him. They are friends but he wants so much more. He has fallen for Margaux and knows she has a different vulnerable side and he wants to crack her mask that she clings tightly to. Their physical attraction is hot and steamy, but Michael wants and needs the whole package. Margaux keeps Michael at arm's length but she needs to make a decision.

Does she clench onto her secrets or surrender them and her true feelings for Michael. It was a delight to see how their story unraveled and I am looking forward to reading book #4.
