Caulter Sterling is a prick.

A filthy-mouthed, womanizing, crude, spoiled, arrogant prick.

The tattooed, pierced, ridiculously hot son of a celebrity.

I hate him.

He's slept his way through practically every girl at Brighton Academy.

Except for me.

I'm the good girl. The responsible girl. The 4.0, class president, studied-so-much-she-never-lost-the-big-V girl.

And in celebration of graduation and adulthood, I just made the worst decision in the history of ever.

I lost my V-card to the devil himself.

It was just one night. So what if it was mind-blowing? Hit it and quit it.

Except I just found out that my father - the Senator, the Presidential hopeful - is marrying Caulter's mother. Oh, and this summer? We're hitting the campaign trail.

One big happy family.

I'm totally screwed.

He's a crude, caustic prick who can't keep his dick in this his pants.
The problem is, I just can't stop thinking about that prick.

Well spank my ass and color me surprised, I actually really liked this one! I tend to stay away from fad like books and with the amount of 'stepbrother' romances that have been circulating lately, I wasn't too enthusiastic about trying this one. But then I read that blurb...and saw the cover...and I. Was. Sold.

Let's be honest here, the very second I even hear the word "asshole" in a book, my ovaries are all...

Add into that mix a super prissy heroine and a delicious hate-to-love trope? And now they're practically screaming

OK, so let's call a spade a spade here. I'm easy. So sue me. But when my friend Geri turned me onto this book, I knew I'd be all over it like a porn star on cock. True story.
She looks at me with contempt. She despises me. But when she kisses me...she kisses me like she hates me and wants me more than anything.

Let me adress a very critical point here, this is not a taboo romance. So if that's a reason that you haven't picked it up, you shouldn't be concerned. The MCs are not related through any part of the book. Their parents are engaged, but that's about the extent of it, so it never went to that taboo place that may make some uncomfortable. Me, on the other hand? It would have been right up my pervy little alley. But I figure I'd set some minds at ease ;)
Now as for the book; it was entertaining as hell. The MCs were as polar opposite as you can get. You have the bad boy, manwhoring, asshole son of a famous celebrity. Then in the other corner, you have a super prissy, goody goody, straight A student that will never disobey her politician daddy heroine.

When Katherine thinks that she's about to go off to college, the last thing she wants to take with her as a memento is her virginity. And who better to punch that pesky V-card than the resident manwhore and king of one-night-stands, Caulter. One extremely hot night that she still can't stop thinking about satisfied, she sneaks away like a thief in the night before Caulter wakes up...full expecting not to see him again. So color her surprised when said man all of a sudden turns out in her house and her father is introducing him as her future stepbrother because he's engaged to Caulter's mom. Do they know each other, he asks? Of course, they do, in the biblical sense no less. Can her father tell the truth behind her lie of just going to the same school as him?

I loved the banter between the two of them. Katherine is as uptight as they come and Caulter pretty much does and says everything that he knows is guaranteed to make the prissy little Princess snap.
I mean the coffee substitute."
"Yeah, some herbal thing?" I ask.
He laughs. "It'll make you shit something fierce. Don't do it." Then he looks up at me. "Of course, it might help with that stick up your ass."

Of course there's also the sizzling hot chemistry that flows between their every snarky insult and barb.
You want me, Katherine. You want me to plunge my cock into that sweet pussy of yours. I will, Princess. All you have to do is say it. Say you want me to leave you panting, the same way you did that night."

Katherine was the type of heroine that would usually drive me nuts with her uptight good girl ways. But something about this book and her just worked for me. Maybe because she was the perfect extreme to offset Caulter's asshole ways? For whatever reason, it just worked.
I hate you you." She has the most fuckable mouth I've ever seen.
"The feeling is completely mutual," I say, before I bring my mouth down on hers, crushing her lips against mine.

This was my first book by this author and I was so pleasantly surprised that I can tell you it definitely won't be my last. If you're looking for a super sexy NA romance with lots of snark, hot sex, even hotter asshole hero, and the prissy princess that brings him to his knees, then you've definitely found your next book.

Since Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward, these stepbrother romances have been popping out all over the place. Trust me I'm not complaining lol, but I haven't enjoyed many of them. Most of the time it's the "naughty factor" that's lacking in the story, because let's be honest. Having intimate relations with a step-sibling or step-sibling to be is just not appropriate behaviour! And that's exactly why I've find it even more titillating than normal erotic literature. And boy did this book serve it up, I mean they weren't actually step-siblings but their parents were engaged. Add the fact that the heroine's father is a senator and the hero's mother is a Hollywood star and you've got a recipe for success.

Kate just lost her V card to the school's number 1 manwhore, Caulter Sterling but never you mind it was her last year of school. She'll be off to college soon and never have to see his face again. Wrong. Kate's father drops the mother of all bombs on her *excuse the pun* He's getting married... To none other than Caulter's mother.

Imagine a love/hate relationship... to the power of infinity. At first Caulter and Kate show their utter distaste for each other's company but with Caulter not being able to hide his obvious lust for Kate, she can barely keep her own lust under wraps. One minute their tearing into each other saying horrid things the next their tearing each other's clothing off! Their antics were both smoking hot and super funny at times!

"I don't want to come on --" she starts to say, but I silence her, plunging my fingers inside her quickly and without warning. Her eyes close lightly, and she brings her hands down to grip my shoulders. I stroke her slowly, on her most sensitive place, and I can feel her body give way like she's slowly melting. Pressing my palm firmly against her clit, I continue to stroke her, and she grinds against my hand.
"No?" I whisper. "Tell me you don't want to come on me."
"Caulter," she says softly.
"Yes, Princess."
"Fucking...stop calling me...that."

I don't even want to get started on the library scene! *swoons*

Man did I enjoy reading this book! You know what really surprised me though? It wasn't just about Caulter and Kate's forbidden relationship, I mean they had their issues. Caulter is a badboy, the son his mother would rather not have had. He slept with almost the entire female population at his and Kate's school but he always had a thing for Kate and when she didn't fall for his come on's he kept hitting on her just because he loved getting a rise out of her. Kate is the perfect daughter, she's never deviated from what her father has planned for her life. Even though she has her own aspirations she never voices her inner thoughts to her father, as if he would listen...

I thought Kate and Caulter were perfect for each other, without each other they might have ended up stuck in the lives their parents dictated. And like I said in my pre-review my only issue with this book

And finally this book was just 99 cents on Amazon and free on Kindle Unlimited. If you're curious just buy the damn book. Even if you don't enjoy the story the hot sex scenes will more than make up for it!

4.5 Stars!

Yep, I am totally 5 starring this one! A book about a re-formed man-whore...cured by the virgin with the golden va-jay-jay!

Trust me, I can hardly believe it either.

But damn, once I started this book I couldn't stop.

"Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. I'm screaming the words inside my head. I've just lost my virginity to my new stepbrother. I'm completely fucked."

Pretty much read it in one sitting.

Loved the whole love/hate thing going on between Coulter and Katherine. Their banter was so fun and funny.

Coulter "Too much pussy, it's my cross to bear" Sterling was a total prick. The most lovable, dirty-talking prick.

And the marshmallow roasting scene....

...I was laughing my ass off.

"You can't light a fire out here--there are regulations, you idiot," she yells. "Who fucking gets a--where did you even get a barrel, anyway? and what the hell are you--Oh. My. God. Those are my clothes in there. My pants. My underwear!"
I lied I'm not taking the mature road here. At all. This might be one of the most juvenile things I've ever done. I grin and shrug. "I told you I wanted you in skirts. No panties."
"What are you some kind of psychopath? she asks. "Who lights someone's clothes on fire? Something is seriously wrong with you."

Oh man, what can I say? For whatever reason this one just worked for me. It was a highly entertaining, smoking hot, fun read!

Who can say no to a good step-brother romance?

Some Spoilers

“I’ve just lost my virginity to my new stepbrother. I'm completely fucked.”-Katherine

Prick the 1st book in the A Step-Brother Romance series was a funny and sexy read. It was my first taste of Sabrina Paige's writing and I really enjoyed it. I went into this read expecting a taboo step sibling romance but they weren't even step brother or sister the whole book. Their parents were just engaged to get married and or divorced during Caulter and Katherine whole relationship so no real step sibling love. But what I did get was a very funny Good Girl/ Manwhore love/ hate relationship that was plenty smutty enough for me to over look the fact that Caulter wasn't really her step brother.

 photo 9220290_zpsu6wxmwfa.gif

“Did you know about our parents getting married, before?” I ask again. “What, before you texted me and begged me to give you some of this?” He grabs his crotch. “I didn’t exactly have to beg,” I say, my teeth clenched. “I don’t think anyone has to twist your arm to get the dick you dole out like it's candy.” "You sure didn't have a problem sucking on it like it was made of fucking sugar," he says. I can feel heat rise to my cheeks. "That is not how I sucked your --" "What, Harvard?" he asks. "Are you going to tell me you don't remember how you wrapped those sweet little lips around my cock like it was the best thing you ever tasted?"-Katherine and Caulter

Katherine was little miss perfect. The daughter of a Senator she is use to being the good girl. I really thought I would hate Katherine. That she would be this stuck up bitch and even though at times she was I still really liked her. She was very relatable. I loved that even though she was a good girl on the outside because she has to keep that image for her dad's politico life she had a bad girl side. I love that she didn't let Caulter walk all over her and in the end she also stands up to her father and lives her life the way she wants. Caulter was amazing. He was a total asshole but sexy as hell. Caulter was the manwhore, anger, angsty, dick that you just can't help but love. A sarcastic smart ass with a filthy mouth he just screamed yummy anger sex.

 photo 10763436_zpsoq6hompj.gif

“Shit. Do I look like - you know?” “Like your step-brother just had his fingers inside your pussy and you're about to go sit in front of a bunch of reporters and pretend to be a perfect little family?” I grin. “Yeah.” Katherine’s eyes go as big as saucers. “Don’t be crude.” “Because I used the word pussy, or step-brother?" I ask. “Both.” -Katherine and Caulter

Katherine and Caulter has a "I hate you but I can't keep my hands off you" relationship. Rippin' into each other even as they ripped each others clothes off. The things they would say omg was funny as hell. I love when a book can make me laugh and this one did that many times. The chemistry between Kate and Caulter was off the charts. The sex in this book was hot, dirty and everything I want in my smut reads. I really liked just about everything with this book. I just had one problem with it. The time jumps at the end. See things reach their peak, the shit hits the fan, and then wham time jump one year, then wham again 3 more years. I'm sitting there holding my kindle going wait....What? I mean I was dying to see what happened and I get a huge time jump that glosses over what happened. I felt cheated! Other than that a good read!

“I’m going to make this tight, sweet little pussy mine.” “What?” Her eyelids are at half-mast, her eyes rolling back in her head as I stroke inside her. “I am...not….yours.” “This. Is. Mine." -Caulter and Katherine

"-Did you just spank me?
-It won't be the last time I do it, either.
-Do women fall for this shit?
-You're the one bent over your father's desk, Princess. You're also the one who's soaking wet. So you tell me."

I had so much fun with this one. It was such a pleasant surprise. I don't know what I expected but definitely not this. It was funny, it was hot as hell and it was cute.

Well, we have prim and proper, Miss Priss, goody-goody, stuck up, frigid prude princess named Katherine. She is finishing school with her V card still intact. She doesn't want to go to college as a virgin so she asks Caulter to do the deed. Caulter is the biggest manwhore on the campus, prick, asshole, spoiled brat, shithead, etc. I just named few pleasantries they were exchanging all the time.

It was supposed to be one night stand, but when Kate's father announces that he's going to marry Caulter's mother, things change slightly. They are forced to spend summer together and that's when all the fun starts. They hate each other, or it seems, but there's also helluva lust. And once they start, they go at it like bunnies.

I liked the banter, sexual tension and animosity between them. I more than liked their "interactions." From hate to bed, and then to hate, again and again...
"-So much for an orgasm helping with your uptightness.
-Is that what you were trying to do? I didn't know fucking me would magically transform me. It sure didn't change you into Prince Charming."
I really liked Katherine. She may have been stiff and very proper but she was also true to herself till the very end. Even when they started having sex regularly, she didn't suddenly change to sweet girl, no, she was still a bitch and he was still a jackass.

I loved all those pick up lines that came out of Caulter's mouth. They seemed so cheesy and ridiculous at times, but he was using them just to drive her batshit crazy and it worked. Speaking of Caulter's mouth...

Overall, it was fast, very entertaining, smoking hot reading. Highly recommended if you want something light and fun with witty bad boy, tattoos, piercings and all.
I loved the ending, it was sweet and very adequate, perfect!

Title: Prick
Series: Standalone
Author: Sabrina Paige
Release Date: February, 2015

Cliffhanger:.
HEA:

Prick by Sabrina Paige is a nice, pleasant surprise. Finally, after all those awful and tasteless stepbrother themed books (that’ve been popping all over), something worth giving a shot has been released. I am so glad for that! I loved Stepbrother Dearest to pieces and was looking forward to reading something similar for quite some time. Unfortunately all books labeled ‘stepbrother romance’ that came out were, let’s be honest, not worth my money or time.

When I’ve read few positive reviews of Prick I decided to live on the edge and dive into it. I am not regretting doing so. Even though I cannot say that Prick is complete masterpiece that touched me or played on my emotions, I had fun. Pure, laugh out loud, I am enjoying myself fun. And that’s everything I hoped for and even a tiny bit more.

Sabrina Paige created a read in one sitting kind of book. It’s something to read between heavier reads. Especially when you are looking for something funny and smutty. Something that will take your mind off problems and real life in general.

The taboo subject made this novel smoking hot and… crude. Yep, crude but also so damn funny, I was not sure if I was supposed to be clenching my thighs or laugh and laugh.

The characters were very well developed, their struggles real and not over the top dramatic. I found the main couple a perfect fit. They were amazing together. I loved their love/hate relationship. The teasing and banter between them was fantastic. I am not sure what I liked more the hateful words and comments (aka foreplay) or the actual sex scenes.

In nutshell, Prick is something I would recommend my best friend if she was in book funk, not really sure what to read and pretty upset about it. I am almost one hundred percent this novel would bring at least a smile on her face and make her all hot and bothered. And while I am not going to sing the praises and tell you how absolutely prefect this story is (because, duh, it’s not really deep or life altering) I am going to tell you to read it just for FUN.

Kate is the girl that spends all her free time studying and portraying the good-girl image. So when she celebrates 18 years she decides to get crazy and loses her virginity. The guy she chooses? Caulter, the hot tattooed bad boy that goes to the same school than her.
It was supposed to be a one-time thing… expect that her father’s announce that he’s going to re-marry. With Caulter’s mother. Which will going to make them step-brothers. What was once a one-time thing now’s a forbidden one. The problem? Living under the same room they understand that now they want it more than ever.

I normally tend to stay away from the “stepbrother line” because usually it has way more angst than I like to deal with. So this one was a pleasantly surprised. It was well written, it was fun and I had a great time reading. The story was simple and engaging so if you want to read a sweet, hilarious and steamy book, this one is a good choice.

Characters Development: I really liked Caulter. In the beginning I was worried he was going to be an asshole, but he was hilarious (I loved how he always got out with the corniest lines just to piss off Kate.), he was sexy and really sweet when he wanted too. Kate, on the other end, did nothing for me. She was immature, spoiled and a lot of times a little bitch. She had some good moments, but unfortunately, they were far and far between.

4 pleasantly-surprised stars!

There is nothing more amazing than being pleasantly surprised by a book. Nothing. Despite the cringe inducing title, this book was fun, readable, plus it's effin' hot too! I read it in one sitting...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Katherine Harrison is Brighton Academy's resident Miss Priss. She's smart, safe, and oh, she's also a virgin. So before she goes to college, she planned on getting rid of her virginity and there's only one person in Brighton Academy who can help her get rid of it -- Mr. Celebrity Manslut Caulter Sterling.

After indulging in a night of debauchery, Kate resolved to forget about Caulter. Besides, she hates him and she's pretty sure the feeling is mutual. But then two weeks after, she gets the shock of her life when her father announced his engagement to none other than Caulter's mom.

This book is told from Kate and Caulter's POV. You actually see the progression of the relationship from both their sides.

I enjoyed how the author wrote each characters. Caulter was a bad boy through and through. He says what's on his mind and they were downright hilarious...and hot. Kate was abrasive but surprisingly, I preferred her that way. She gave it all she's got and she didn't take any shit from her. They were a perfect match. They both equally goaded each other, which made for some very explosive hate sex.

"I haven't been a virgin for months now, thanks to you. And you're an arrogant, egotistical prick who can't think about anything except getting laid," I say, unable to resist.
"Nerd," he says, but his head lolls back as I jerk him off into my mouth, my tongue stroking the end of his head.
"Manwhore." I wrap my lips around his head, sucking in as I stroke. I cradle his balls with my other hand.
"Shit," he says, pulling my head down farther. "Suck it like you mean it, Princess."

“Don’t be crude.”
“Because I used the word pussy, or step-brother?" I ask.
“Both.” She squirms.
(...)
“Are you going to wash your hands before we go?” she asks through gritted teeth.
“I don’t think so,” I say, turning to start down the hall. (...) “I’d rather eat pussy for breakfast anyway.”
Katherine rushes forward and grabs my arm, jerking me toward her. “You’re going to smell like me,” she whispers. She’s so panicked-looking that it makes me laugh. “Go wash your fucking hands.”
“I would have washed my hands, before you started insisting on it,” I say. “But now I’d rather just bask in your scent during breakfast.”

Crude, I know. But considering the situation they were in, it was funny as well. Their chemistry was off the charts, and it's banter like those quoted above that made this an enjoyable read for me. But don't be fooled by their sometimes crude exchange, Caulter and Kate are both well developed characters. The author did a good job with showing me their struggles to become who they were despite the pressures of having famous parents.

Kate wanted her father's approval all her life. He controlled her and he had lofty plans for her, plans that she doesn't want but was forced to accept to keep the peace between them. Caulter also had to deal with his own issues. Mainly, his relationship with his neglectful mother and the revolving door of men in his mother's life. I had no doubt she loved him the best she could but she was too self-absorbed to care for another human being. In a way, Caulter and Kate both understood and have a lot in common with each other.

Another thing I liked about this book was that the characters stayed consistent. Caulter didn't turn into a cheesy schmuck and Kate didn't become a doormat. While Kate did submit to him in bed, she fought him outside of it. I really really liked the dynamic of their relationship and how they slowly came to realize their growing feelings.

So why only 4 stars?

Well, just when the story reached its climax, I was treated to Don't get me wrong, it was okay but I wish things were a little more fleshed out after the big blow up. I wanted to see that train wreck happen. It was essentially fade to black. It was a bit disappointed. A few chapters more would have in between the climax and the resolution would have pushed this book to five-star status for me.

Yet, despite that, I could not put this book down. I was thoroughly entertained by Kate and Caulter. So four stars all the way!

It appears that the stepbrother type romance books are all the trend these days. I would assume that readers like the forbidden fruit type story but without actually being blood relatives. This story is no different since the couple actually attends private school together and have one hot night where Katherine Harrison decides to give her V-Card to her school’s manwhore, Caulter Sterling.

“He's a crude, caustic prick who can't keep his dick in his pants. The problem is, I just can't stop thinking about that prick.”

Katherine is blindsided when she is introduced to her father’s new fiancée and her son none other the prick himself Caulter. The wedding will be at the end of the summer and so these two carry a love/hate relationship at Kate's family’s New Hampshire home.

”He’s off limits. And not just because he’s my new stepbrother—I mean, we’re not even related, sure, but I can’t even fathom the scandal that would involve—but because it’s Caulter. He’s the crudest, filthiest, sluttiest guy I’ve ever met in my life. I have absolutely no business wanting him.

This story is told in alternating povs of both main characters as the attraction and relationship between them could ruin her father’s presidential aspirations. Katherine is very prim and proper while Caulter was just the right mix of crude and alluring. The sexual tension and eventually sex scenes were hot.

”Alone in the car. Alone in the house. Do you think you can resist, Princess?”

The story is pretty straight forward but highly enjoyable and fast paced. I really loved the way the author cleverly wrapped Kate and Caulter's story and recommend this book to friends who are looking for something that’s simply hot and fun.

Thanks to my girl Pavlina for the fun buddy read!

This was my first read with this premise – a romance between stepbrothers -, so I didn’t know what to expect. “Prick” by Sabrina Paige wasn’t heavy in angst or drama which I really liked. It was smutty, funny and overall a very entertaining read. First and foremost you have to know that both MC are 18. If YA is not your genre of choice, don’t worry, you won’t be bothered by their age.

“He's a crude, caustic prick who can't keep his dick in his pants. The problem is, I just can't stop thinking about that prick.”

Katherine is a good and smart girl. She’s the Senator’s daughter, so she's Miss Perfect, her father having certain expectations from her. For once she wants to make her own decision, so she decides to lose her virginity before she goes off to college. And the lucky guy is the notorious manwhore, Caulter. They spend one hot night and after they part ways. They can’t stop thinking about each other and maybe, just maybe they want more, but soon things get complicated.

“I’ve just lost my virginity to my new stepbrother. I'm completely fucked.”

Oh, yeah...Caulter is Katherine’s future stepbrother. Her father will marry Caulter's famous mother who’s an actress in a couple of months.

description

“Don't worry, Princess, your pussy isn't magic and I'm certainly not hurting for it. It won't be a hardship to keep my dick away from you.”

description

I just loved these two. Their frenemies to lovers relationship is very well done and the teasing between them was really great. Both of them are such endearing characters! I liked them individually and together. Katherine was uptight, yes, but not too uptight to be annoying and Caulter is a prick, of course, but an adorable, charming one. With all the piercings and all the tattoos he’s arrogant and infuriating but he’s not an asshole, at least not all the time. I liked that he knows where to stop with all his nasty remarks. I loved the dynamic between them and how their relationship progressed.

Their banter was fantastic and I enjoyed how funny Caulter is and of course his filthy mouth.

“Shit. Do I look like - you know?”
“Like your step-brother just had his fingers inside your pussy and you're about to go sit in front of a bunch of reporters and pretend to be a perfect little family?” I grin. “Yeah.”
Katherine’s eyes go as big as saucers. “Don’t be crude.”
“Because I used the word pussy, or step-brother?" I ask.
“Both.”

Katherine and Caulter have great chemistry and the sexual tension and the sex scenes were hot as hell.

"You want me, Katherine. You want me to plunge my cock into that sweet pussy of yours. I will, Princess. All you have to do is say it. Say you want me to leave you panting, the same way you did that night.”

description

The dual POV really worked for me here. I really enjoyed being in Katherine and Caulter’s heads. But what didn’t work for me so well was the time jump in the end. Also, I felt the ending was a little rushed.

Overall, an enjoyable read! If you are looking for something funny, sexy and easy to read look no further - “Prick” is exactly what you need.

Okay. So lately I've been seeing A LOT of "Stepbrother" this and that. Clearly it's trending! Throughout this phenomenon I've only read this novel. I certainly was not DISAPPOINTED and don't you worry Sabrina Paige because this will not be the last I read of your TALENTED work. It was absolutely hysterical.. I swear THESE TWO (#ICANTEVEN). INSANELY .. HOT .. I may add! I would recommend to those looking for that taboo sort, badass heroin & hero, and want to laugh to the point they feel those abs (And resemble a WALRUS MIXED WITH A HYENA)!

4 Surprise Stars

Let me preface this review by saying that I am currently in a haze of Nyquil/Mucinex/Codeine...a cold & flu cocktail if you will...My head is actually alternating between riding a fluffy cloud and being on the verge of explosion. And yet here I am writing a review that no one really cares about and will probably make no sense.

description

It's almost like being drunk, I tell you.

But I digress.

On to the book!

This was a fun read. What with seeing the crap reviews for some recent "step brother" trope books, my expectations for this one weren't all that high.

But color me surprised this was a hot and sexy little number.

description

Caulter was delicious.

And witty.

"'Brighton's not exactly a big place,' Caulter says. 'Everyone know everything about everyone. It's almost incestuous.'"

It was really fun to watch Caulter and Katherine navigate their "relationship" against the backdrop of their parents' upcoming nuptials and her father's political campaign.

description

My only beef is that the ending was somewhat abrupt...and the climax of the story was kind of glossed over with the "one year later" ploy.

But other than that, I'll take it.

3.5 ★'s

Caulter and Katherine go to high school together and right before graduating, Katherine decides she's ready to get rid of her virginity and who better to do it with than the resident manwhore? Little did they know that they will soon be step-siblings.

I've only read a few stepbrother books and already I feel like I'm ODing on them. It's either that or none have been as good as the first one, Stepbrother Dearest.

I think a couple of the problems I had is that for the majority of the book, the two MC's are only eighteen...and it's obvious. Also, Caulter is a PRICK...even with getting his POV, we never really got deep enough to see the real him underneath. I can somewhat understand that especially with it being the book title but I wanted more than a few quick glimpses into who Caulter really is.

Katherine was really interesting except for the times she was in hormonal ecstasy fantasizing about Caulter and sketching pictures of him and all his "parts". ;)

description

One good thing is that the steaminess is off the charts...and it has nothing to do with them being almost step-siblings! Instead a lot of that has to do with Caulter being an amazing dirty talker...pheewwww! Or it just may be with them having sex anywhere and anytime!

Of course, there has to be some drama. A lot of it has to do with the family dynamics. I think I could of used more of that instead of some silly scenes at a party and a certain obnoxious redhead. (I mean, really?)

Things get really good at the end and that's basically what saved the book for me. I loved what Caulter said even if things fell apart after. And I was waiting for a time lapse and this time, I was all too ready. I loved how Caulter made certain things happen and the predictable surprise was priceless. My only issue is that I wish that whole section was longer.

I certainly loved this story! It's not only that i have a sweet spot for step-sibling romances, because i do. I read so many, and they were mostly mediocre, except a few bright exception. Prick falls into the latter category. It has everything, drama, hot sex, forbidden bond, love/hate elements, great writing, amazing characters. This is how it's done.

Caulter Sterling and Katherine Harrison kept me such a good company. They are compelling, smart and wholesome characters with both good and bad traits, a characteristic that makes them real and approachable.
Both temperamental, both stuborn, both ready to clash and unaware of the consequences.

Caulter, is the ultimate bad boy. A manwhore, a rebel, a prick! His fascination with Kate aka the cold bitch started the moment he saw her. But she was too good for him right?? She hated him right away. But there is always a thin line between love and hate.

Katherine on the other hand is the preppy girl, the goody goody innocent princess. But she is sick of it all. And right before the end of highschool, she decides to change her status from virgin prude, to well.. not virgin. And who is better to do it, other than the school's notorious playboy?

When these two collide, there is no air left in the room. They completely consume each other and obliterate everything else. The summer that will follow will leave them breathless and change them forever.

I really loved this book, and i recommend it to everyone who wants to read a great book with a secret love story, characters that really evolve through time and insanely hot sex..

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- So captivating!
- In the end it was a little bit, rushed.
- I enjoyed their banter so much.
- So much passion.. Those two are sizzling.
- I loved the writing.
- Dual POV.
- The library sex!! hehe..

- The detail on the cemetery, felt so real. It wasn't something big but for me it was heartwrenching.
- When he came to take her from that party.
- The way he said i love you.. awww!
- I'm so happy Caulter went on this adventure. I thing it helped him mature.
- Also happy for Kate. She deserves happiness with her prince..

It wasn't that bad. I just wish there wasn't that time jump at the end because I would love to see what happened. The reactions of their parents.
In the end, I guess it was pretty okay. Nothing really special.

I just found it funny, that she sent him a message and then she was surprised that he has her number...

Short review this time! This book is the perfect example of trusting your Goodreads friends. Thank you Christine, Geri and Lana for reviewing this gem and introducing it to me, because I never would have read it otherwise, and then I never would have met Caulter!!!

This book broke me out of my book slump, I devoured it within a matter of hours. Even though it's not the most original of step-sibling romances, it's well written and has the perfect dollop of angst thrown in.

I highly recommend for those of you who want a fun, sexy, steamy read that won't fry your brain cells with stupidity.

Katherine Harrison aka Kate/Princess is an 18 yr. old girl about to head off to Harvard in the fall. She attends a prep school called Brighton Academy, along with a bunch of other rich kids. She is always little miss perfect. She's the daughter of a politician & always expected to conform & follow the rules. With a Senator for a father, she was always the good girl who played it safe & knew there were certain expectations placed on her. Even though her father dictates every aspect of her life, Kate makes the decision that she doesn't want to start college still a virgin, & she knows the perfect guy to get the job done.

 photo abrighton_zpsdtkvbtkk.gif

Kate texts the crude, tattooed, chain smoking bad boy Caulter Sterling. He is an absolutely gorgeous guy who is the son of a celebrity & attends school with her. He is known as a man whore & she is pretty sure he won't turn her down. Caulter is stunned when Kate contacts him. She's the girl all the guys wanted & nobody could have. He always felt she was out of his league, but still flirted like hell with her, & chased after her.

 photo cdfb7771-c94f-40b0-a333-66fd05994543_zpsqgevccye.jpg

They spend an amazing night together, and it is beyond incredible for both of them. They part ways the morning after, but can't quit thinking about each other. Kate keeps fantasizing about Caulter, and he can't seem to get her out of his head since that night either.

 photo d8ff787b-8354-4a90-8847-26e94b2faf1e_zps1c23a216.jpg

-Caulter, the guy I can't stop fantasizing about.

-I can still feel his lips on mine.

-My body craves him, and I hate it.

-That fucking prick.

 photo 36c4123f-909e-4012-a7d3-db42d7a38ef1_zpsnccjaetz.jpg

Ten days after their magical night together, Kate arrives at her father's DC home to find the boy she lost her virginity to standing in her living room. His movie star mom is also there, & Kate is informed their parents plan to marry & Caulter, her one indiscretion will now be her new stepbrother.

 photo asmall_zpsfskiy7kg.gif

-She might pretend she hates me, but she wants me.

-"I'll play the good little step-brother," he says. "But I'll be undressing you the whole time with my eyes."

 photo cac3a820-ee3c-4bb6-8cbd-5dcc2a629086_zpsfgxdvatr.gif

Kate is stunned not only to see Caulter again, but in her home. She thought this was a one night stand she would never have to see again. Now she learns they are expected to smile, & be one big happy family. Her father's political aspirations have always dictated her life, & with him working on his re-election campaign & possibly running for president in a few years, image is everything.

 photo 4d9a4aa0-dd02-48a8-8479-310d06270ccd_zpshy5ekdek.png

They all are planning to head to Kate's families home in New Hampshire for the summer. Caulter has never cared about rules or expectations, & suddenly has to play along or risk losing his inheritance. But that doesn't mean he can't still have a little fun, & enjoy getting under Kate's skin. He provokes her at every turn, and reminds her of their one night of passion, & what she's missing.

 photo b8db3688-786a-488e-aa40-5bfcab43786f_zps27fb0393.jpg

Caulter is definitely a prick, but we learn they actually have a lot in common. They were both just an inconvenience to their well known public figure parents. We get some serious sexy in this book & Caulter is absolutely yummy! He's got a vulgar dirty mouth that just won't stop & plenty to back it up! ;)) I enjoyed the banter & loved seeing a softer side to Caulter. This was my first book by this author & I look forward to reading more in this series! :D

I'll admit that when I saw that a lot of my GR friends were reading this book called; "Prick," I thought you all had gone a little crazy on me! LOL The reviews started piling in though, and me being me..I just had to run and one click this book! Well, I am super glad that I did. Yes, there is a ton of sex; and it is very hot, dirty, and raw; but the relationship between Caulter and Katherine that emerges out of their tawdry affair blossoms into something quite beautiful. This is definitely a book worth picking up. Although, I will caution...there is a TON of sex!!! Lots and lots!!! Towards the second half of the book though, feelings begin to develop between this taboo couple and then the story actually does get some depth to it.

Katherine is the Senator's daughter, who basically has a stick up her butt, and is very much a prude and goody two shoes. (just ask Caulter..this would be his initial opinion of her!) Then we have Caulter Sterling who is the tattoed, bad boy, rebel; who I might add, is extremely crude and very well known for his man-whorish ways..(and quite proud of it!) Caulter's mother has become engaged to Kate's dad, and it gets sprung on the young adults that they are getting married. Now, Caulter and Katherine do know of each other from school. Oh, I might have forgot to mention that Kate had approached Caulter before she knew of their upcoming familial connection! She surprisingly asked him to deflower her as she didn't want to be a virgin going to College! Caulter, being who he is had no problem doing this, but was surprised when he couldn't get this goody two shoes out of his head!

Of course, we all can imagine what begins to take place as these two face off living in the same home together. I find it highly amusing how a huge percentage of us love a taboo relationship! It just adds to the excitement I guess! Caulter and Katherine spend a ton of time going at it like two rabbits!!! Yes, they start off not really LIKING each other; but they are in high LUST of each other. Eventually though, feelings do start to get in the way and they start changing how they think about one another. An excellent story that I could probably even do a reread down the road. I was truly surprised by it, and did enjoy it very much!

Some of my fave quotes from the rude and crude Caulter Sterling!

"Calm your Tits"
"Sugar Tits"

"You're the one who's rubbing up against my cock like it's a magic lamp."

"If I'm a pig, maybe Jo needs a little pork, then, huh?"

YEAH....This was not exactly what I expected and unfortunately it didn't do it for me. There's so many illicit step sibling romance out there now that it becomes clear that not everything will be worth reading. Take for example, Stepbrother Dearest, by Penelope Ward. I LOVED that book and felt it had the perfect combo of angst, forbidden romance and emotional depth. In all honesty another stepbrother romance would be hard pressed to top it for me, but it's very possible, though not with this one.
This book started out good but I would have rather seen Caulter and Catherine get together instead of being told after the fact. I also would have loved to see them interact in school, that would have been so much more effective in building up their relationship. Anyways, I didn't like Catherine or 'Kate' at all. She was so back and forth and although I understood her desire to not feel anything for Caulter, I found her behavior completely ridiculous. She was so abrasive, so standoffish and so immature that I never bothered looking for ways to redeem her in my mind.

Caulter was the opposite. He was the spoiled, hot and slutty bad boy of a famous actress. He never once came across as trying too hard like Kate did. I couldn't understand what he saw in her. Sure, she was hot in his eyes, but what exactly about her had him coming back for more? Maybe her bitchiness, because she delivered that in spades.

There were funny parts, some emotion towards the end, but this as a whole was not that good. I hard a hard time NOT putting it down and even started skimming the sex scenes because they became redundant. The ending was sweet but came a little too late for me so, 2 disappointed stars.

"That fucking prick."

That's the first line in the book......

Therefore I KNEW I would LOVE IT!!

Caulter
Basically he's young, cocky and gorgeous!! His Mom is a huge movie star, so he's loaded. He's got that swagger and has all the chicks dropping them panties for him. All except Katherine...kinda. He's that typically bad boy that all the chicks love to hate!! His mouth is filthy...a filthy mouth gets me EVERYTIME!!! *hands down my fav*

The banter between these two is AWESOME!!!

“You're the tattooed, chain-smoking, beer-guzzling, train wreck son of the movie star who's marrying my family-values, ex-Marine Senator father.  You're a tabloid headline, standing right here in front of me."

Katherine
She's the daughter of a Senator, prim and proper. Always towing the line and never making waves...blah, blah,blah...you get the idea. She's the smart pretty girl who's trapped in a Norman Rockwell painting. She needs a little help from the school's manwhore. These two are like night and day and they are hilarious!!!!

“Well, you're the goody-goody, stuck up, boring-ass virgin who's so uptight she can't find anyone to punch her v-card except the manwhore from her school who will screw literally anyone."

Basically this is a book about a one night stand that never goes away due to the families being merged together!!

Can you imagine....,you want to get your vCard punched....pick the school manwhore and BAM he's going to be your new stepbrother!!!

So to wrap it up....I LOVED IT!! It's a quick a easy read with tons of laughs and lots of smexy sexy times!!

Last time I read a Step-brother themed novel I loved it, so of course I jumped at the opportunity to read another one. Prick was very hot and entertaining but honestly I wasn't blown away by it.

Caulter and Kate had a one hot night of sex neither of them seems to be able to forget. Imagine their surprise when after graduating high school they find out their parents are getting married, when neither of them knew they were even dating. Imagine becoming the step-sister of your high school nemesis? Kate is freaking out about Caulter living in her house because even though she hates him, every time she sees him she wants to rip his clothes off and slap him at the same time. Kate is the total opposite of what Caulter likes in a girl, she's proper, demure and always so serious, but ever since he took her v-card, he's been fantasizing about all the dirty things he wants to do to her.

These two had the funniest banter and one hell of a sexual chemistry, they fight hard and dirty and the sexy times are just as intense, but exactly what is it that the future holds for Kate and Caulter?

Prick was a fun read, I would definitely recommended it to anybody looking for a well written story packed with steam and laughs...

Guilty, I loved it.

I wasn't spencting much of this book. I started it in bed intending to read for a few minutes to get a feel of the book before going to sleep. I ended up devoring all in one night.

I actually loved Caulter (the prick), yes he is a jerk but damn! he is appealing, I loved his self-confident and domineering personality.

To be fair, there is not much of a story or plot, the book is mainly erotica, it is about two people who can't stay away from each other.
Prick is a light and simple read. I would have liked more struggle, more drama, a bit more shape. Also, more character development, specially in Kate's case. Although I admit Caulter's and Kate's back and forward made me laugh.

The sex scenes where many, and really really hot. There is no emotional development through a relationship, through slowly getting to know each other, not really. They fall in love through sex, lots and lots of sex, and I liked it.

Therefore if you are looking for a deep and meaningful romance this is not the book for you. But if you are in the mood for a hot and fast read this is it.

Gah this was a surprising read! I ended up really liking it despite my reservations. Caulter was pretty dreamy, even when he was being a prick. And Kate, although a tad bitchy, was totally likeable. There's lots of angst and a few misunderstandings, but damn if I didn't enjoy reading this. I'd definitely read more books by Sabrina Paige.

Ohh men ohhhh mennn ohh men :D I really liked this one...I mean really really...

description

I know that lately there has been an abundance of stepbrother novels and every month at least a couple of them come out. Well let me tell you...for me this month Prick was the best of the best and I loved it :D

description

The story was not shocking and pretty strait forward. Stepsiblings, secret affair, hot sex, etc. But what I really liked was the characters, how they evolved throughout the book and how real they felt to me.

Katherine goes from a virgin miss goody two shoes wich lets her father control her life and everything she wants to a woman that isn't afraid of her sexuality and goes for what she wants (almost) all the time.

Meanwhile Caulter goes from son of a movie star bad boy with a different girl in his bed every night and who doesn't know what he wants in life to a one woman man and a person that can say "I fucking love you" :D

description

While reading the book I kept thinking of how much Katherine and Caulter remind me of Blair and Chuck from Gossip Girl (men I loved that show :D). Both enrolled in the same private school. Katherine with her perfect 4.0, class president, head band and the need to impress her parent. Caulter the bad boy womanizing, crude, spoiled, arrogant prick with more money then sense and a different girl every time.

description

Yeah...it's like the author thought of them when she wrote this two characters. Bonus she loses her virginity to him but in this novel in happens in a hotel room and not the back of a limo :P

description

Katherine and Caulter's story ends with a HEA but it takes them one year to get there. One year to find themselves, grow up (because they're only 18) and figure out what they want. But once they get there is 4 ever :D

description

I really hope you enjoy this book and like Kate and Caulter as much as I did :D

5  reasons why I loved this book

- Caulter was the most lovable prick/ asshole/ manwhore/ slut with the dirtiest mouth

Chicks have been trying to get with me since I was in middle school.  Everyone wants that son-of-a-celebrity cock.
Too much pussy.  It's my cross to bear.

- Kate didnt annoy me

Im suprised myself

- the banter was awesome

"I’m not going down there smelling like --”
He interrupts me, looking at me with his eyebrows raised.
“Like you just had filthy sex on the floor of your room with your step-brother?”
I grab the pillow from the floor and throw it at him.
“Please stop saying that.”
“Step-brother?” he asks, grinning.  “Does it bother you?  I mean, you are keeping it in the family.”
I cover my ears.  “La la la la,” I say.  “I don’t hear you."

- the love/hate relationship was done very well IMO

"You're the most irritating person I've ever met."
Her ass is pressed up against the desk, and I'm leg to leg against her.
“I hate you.”  She has the most fuckable mouth I've ever seen.
"The feeling is completely mutual," I say, before I bring my mouth down on hers, crushing her lips against mine.

- last but not least it was  hot

Prick is a great light and smutty read.

Katherine is the school goody-goody. As the Senators daughter, appearances are important, so she keeps herself in order. After graduation, and before the summer before her first year at college, she decides it's time to punch her v-card. What better person to do it with, then the schools bad boy/man whore, Caulter. Just one night of sex, and then she'll never have to see him again.

Tattooed, pierced, master with the ladies, and a "fuck you" attitude, makes Caulter the quintessential bad boy. It doesn't hurt that his mother is a famous actress with money to go around and not much time on discipline. With his reputation, he is very surprised that the prudish Katherine wants to have a night with him. And what a night it was. He can't seem to stop thinking about how the reserved girl came apart while with him.

Two weeks after their night together, the two come face to face again, when their parents announce that they've been dating and are now engaged. Now the two must face a whole summer together. They both get under each others skin in more than one way. The total opposite pair can't stand one another, yet there is still something in the back of their minds. Lust.

 photo image.jpg2_zpscnvrjzc4.jpg

 photo imagejpg3_zpsdfa8f0b7.jpg

I think I had the perfect timing when coming across this to read, and I enjoyed it.

This was a really good, easy on the drama, and seriously hot read.

I'm glad this was told in dual POV, and I really liked both of the MC's. I loved the semi-forbidden lust, the sexual tension, and the love/hate relationship and banter. Neither of the characters pissed me off, and surprisingly no eye-rolling was done. Their build up of their relationship was well paced and reasonable. Maybe it's the fact that I love the asshole or anti-hero, but I didn't find Caulter to be a prick at all.

There is not much else to say, really. It was written well, had endearing characters, a decent story, and good sex scenes. An enjoyable read, and cheap to boot. A perfect palate cleanser if you've been reading a lot of angst, or dark and serious subject matter. It was very cute. Would recommend if a sweet smutty read is in your forecast.

Katherine is a G.G. She has a perfect 4.0 GPA, she's going to attended Harvard, she's the daughter of maybe the upcoming president, and she's also a virgin.

“I had been Little Miss Perfect my whole life -- 4.0 GPA, class president, valedictorian, the whole nine yards. The daughter of Senator Harrison”

The guys that she has dated seemed to be more interested in her father than her. So when it was two weeks before her graduation she decided to give up her virginity to Caulter Sterling .
That fucking prick

“That was all it was -- casual. Hit it and quit it was Caulter's mantra”

After two weeks Kate Never expected to see the boy she lost her v-card to in her house, sitting on the couch and with her father.

“the boy I hadn’t spoken to since he did the deed two weeks ago -- is now standing in my fucking living room.
With my father.”

But above all she never expected to see the guy who deflowered her again and that he's her new stepbrother .

“I’ve just lost my virginity to my new stepbrother.
I'm completely fucked.”

What will happen?

Can I just say I LOVED Cal, and when they first talked after the news

“Hey, sis," he says, emphasizing the word as he closes the door behind him and leans against it.
“Don't call me that," I snap.
"Oh, but you heard daddy dearest, Princess," he says. "We're going to be siblings now.”

Cal has this swag and mouth that's dirty and it will make you laugh and swoon.

“Don't worry, Princess, your pussy isn't magic and I'm certainly not hurting for it. It won't be a hardship to keep my dick away from you.”

And the nicknames he has for her...
"Hey, sugar-tits."

This book is a light read and funny and fun. If you want to read a book after a dark, depressing book, this is your book. Overall amazing read.
