The town of Love, Alaska, is experiencing a shortage of women. The town's elderly mayor, Jasper Prescott, has a story run on his town in which he proposes "Operation Love" inviting single women to come to Love to find just that...love. Journalist and New York City girl, Grace Corbett, sees this as her big break and heads to the small Alaskan town to write a feature on Operation Love. She plans on staying for six weeks acting as if she is there to find love, not letting anyone know her true motives for being there. Little does she expect to fall for the mayor's grandson, Sheriff Boone Prescott. She also finds that the charming village and its occupants have worked their way into her heart, as well.

This was such a wonderful book! The characters were absolutely lovable, secondary cast included. It was fun to see city girl Grace, who was clearly out of her element in Love, eventually find that she felt more at home and accepted in this small town than she ever had anywhere else before. Boone was the perfect hero for her. I loved Boone's grandfather, Jasper, who was in his seventies, and was still enjoying his life to the fullest and loved to go on adventures. The Alaskan scenery was beautiful and provided a lovely backdrop to the story--the snow, the mountains, the Northern Lights, the wilderness, the ice-skating. I hope that there will be many more books set in Love, Alaska.

I am absolutely charmed by this story! It was such a fun read. I adored Jasper and Grace and Boone are a perfect start to this series. It’s an adorable story. The setting adds another perfect element to the book as well. I can not wait to devour the rest of this series. Belle has a new fan in me!

Loved this book! Great story of Grace, a reporter going undercover to see why women are finding love in Love, AK. This city girl falls not just for sheriff Boone Prescott but for the whole town. It's a sweet story that reminded me that what we want to happen is not necessarily what God has planned. I can't wait to read more stories in this Alaskan Grooms series as I fell in love with the townspeople of Love too. I received a copy of this book for free from the author in exchange for a honest review. I read this and enjoyed it in spite of that.

I've just returned from a trip to Alaska. Not really, but reading An Alaskan Wedding by Belle Calhoune was the next best thing to visiting Alaska. This heartwarming romance between a city girl and small town sheriff charmed me so that I barely put it down except when I absolutely had to. Grace Corbett and Sheriff Boone Prescott come to life on the pages. Calhoune's descriptions of Love, Alaska made me feel like I there in the story. The quirky lovable people of Love made me once again wish I lived the small town life. This story has a unique, adorable premise and from beginning to end does not disappoint. I call it perfect reading for this time of year when there is a chill in the air and we eagerly retreat to our favorite chairs with a good book and a hot drink. Add it to your To Be Read list.

What a great visit to Alaska! I'm excited about this new series. What more could you want... rugged heroes in the rugged land of midnight sun. The hero stole my heart, sweet caring and wants his siblings to be happy. Even if he is a bit heavy handed at times. The grandfather is a wonderful character. This town is full of great characters. I loved the family dynamics. Can't wait to see who steps up for the next story. The first kiss scene is worth rereading several times. The cover promises a winter wonder land love story and the pages deliver.

Belle Calhoune gives us a heartwarming romance for the start of the Alaskan Groom series.
I loved the residents of Love,Alaska and the storyline.
My favorite passage was "connections around us makes our lives better. They make us stronger."
A copy of the book was given to me by the author and no review was required. My opinions are my own.

Alaskan Wedding is by Belle Calhoune. It is set in Love, Alaska where Operation Love is in effect to help get women to come to Alaska with matrimony in mind. Mayor Jasper Prescott was the mastermind behind the operation. He especially wanted his grandsons and granddaughter to get married to give him great-grandchildren.
Grace Corbett of New York City was given an assignment by her boss at the New York Tribune saw a special promotion put on television by Mayor Prescott and decided to help his circulation by sending Grace to Love, Alaska for a series of stories. Grace, of course, took the assignment hoping to further her career in journalism plus it gave her the chance to travel. However, she was traveling undercover as a barista at the Moose Café. She also had to take planes to get to Love. She was frightened of flying, especially in the small plane at the end of the flight. She flew in with another woman who was to work at the café, Sophie Miller from Georgia. Sophie was full of excitement about coming to Love and was destined to become a friend.
When Grace landed, she met Sheriff Boone Prescott when she stumbled in her heels. He criticized her choice of footwear which immediately irritated Grace who loved her shoes. However, he was the most handsome man she had ever met and was intrigued. She was soon caught up with the swarm of men who greeted the plane and swept along to the Moose Café. Her undercover life had begun.
Boone headed to his office as he had no intention of getting involved with the women who came to Love. He had tried it once and it backfired. However, he couldn’t help thinking of the lovely Grace. His best friend, Declan O’Rourke followed him to his office and practically dared him to go to the café. Here Boone found two men starting to fight over who gave Grace a chair. He solved the fight and took the chair by Grace to stop any ruckus.
What would the future bring for Boone and Grace? Boone had been burned once by a woman who cheated and lied, how would he react when he found out Grace had lied the entire time she had been in Love?

I love books set in Alaska, so I felt sure I would enjoy this book... and the series. And I did.. more than expected. Boone and Grace were fun, but honestly I love many of the other characters too.. especially Jasper! And I am excited this is just book 1, so I will get to visit them and get to know them better!

For sure this is a romance, but it dealt with more than that.. past hurts, rejections, judgmental-ness, jumping to conclusions, unforgiveness.. some pretty big stuff that most of us deal with at some point in life.

And mixed in there are plenty of fun make-you-smile (and laugh) moments/

Sweet romance that will have you chuckling when big city girl Grace heads to Alaska. In heels no less! Boy, did she have a lot to learn. Like the fact that love heals.

I loved the community feel of this book. People pulling together to protect each other in the wild country. The characters are well developed and I’d love to visit Love, Alaska to meet them for coffee at The Moose Cafe.

My first book by author Belle Calhoune, I really enjoyed it and will read more of her novels.

It was like Hart Of Dixie meets a Hallmark Movie. It was a very simple read. It was nice to read while in Alaska but I wish it was more fleshed out. It felt too predictable and I felt like a very surface level story. I was hoping for more character building... Or something. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best either.

Fairly predictable, and exactly what I expected. Alaskan setting - check. Much back and forth between the two MC's - check. HEA - check. This one did have a male MC who admitted several faults... including a great scene where he informs everyone he can't ice skate.

This is my first book by this author and I have to admit I am a fan, although I feel the title is a little misleading, while the ending did end with a wedding, I was expecting the entire book to be based around an alaskan wedding and not just 3-4 pages that didn't even go into detail about the wedding... Other then that I really loved all the Characters! I love that it was full of adventure! The ending was a typical Harlequin ending, but it was still a really nice, quick and easy read. Can't wait to read more books from Belle Calhoune :)

If you have ever read any of my reviews, you know one of my "pet peeves" with books (and movies) is when I am forced to read 200+ pages of a story where the heroine and hero stumble along their way to the inevitable "happily ever after" due to mis-communication or because of failure to just have a simple conversation. Hence, my "problem" with this story.

The premise of the story: Grace, a young woman still reeling from being jilted at the altar, is a NYC journalist who makes her way to Love, Alaska in search of the story of her career. Posing as a coffee barista, she goes undercover to write a series of articles about the women who are flocking to Love, Alaska in search of true love. She never expected to meet and fall for the town's handsome sheriff, Boone - or to find friendship, acceptance and faith while there.

Boone has also been jilted by a former love and has spent his life trying to protect the town of Love, his siblings and his grandfather, Jasper, who just happens to be the mayor of the town. Boone is not looking for love, especially not from a city slicker who wears inappropriate footwear (in his opinion) to the Alaskan tundra. But God's plans are not always our plans.

For the entire book, Boone and Grace dance around their feelings for each other. Grace won't tell Boone the real reason she is in Love, and Boone won't admit that he is not open to love because of his sense of responsibility to everyone else in his life. If Grace and Boone had just had a conversation - a real conversation - the book would have been shorter - or maybe some other issues could have been explored.

I am sure that there will be additional books that will focus on the townspeople of Love, Alaska - because there are plenty of secondary characters who are demanding that their stories be told. Eash of Boone's siblings deserve their own story. Sophie, the coffee heiress that is hiding out in Love. Hazel, whose authentic Alaskan boots may be just what Love needs to kickstart its failing economy. And Declan, Boone's best friend. Plenty of stories for a series. I just don't know that I will be reading them.

FROM THE LOVE INSPIRED line of Harlequin Romance novels.

This was a really cute small town story with a fun cast of characters. The local mayor's "Operation Love" (his matchmaking project in the isolated community of Love, Alaska) is turning out to be a smashing success. Women across the country have arrived to meet the local menfolk and visit the charming town. When the Project gets noticed by reported Grace Corbett, she goes "undercover" to get the inside story, but falls for local Sheriff Boone Prescott instead...how will she tell him the truth about her motives without ruining what they've found together?

This was a lot of fun to read. The characters are colorful and added a lightheartedness to the story that made the town feel very genuine. It also added an emotional punch when things get tough. The town is functioning like an extended family and the other women in the community are welcoming the new ladies to town as if they were sisters or nieces. This is definitely a series I plan to continue!

An Alaskan Wedding is an outstanding book! Reporter Grace Corbett from a big city moves to a smaller town to find a great story for her editor, but she finds so much more in this small town of Love, Alaska. There are many problems from the past to overcome, but in the mayor's "Operation Love" idea, anything is possible. This book has a wonderful storyline with realistic characters, romance, a little suspense and humor. I absolutely love and enjoyed reading this book by Author Belle Calhoune and I highly recommend it. An Alaskan Wedding is a Love Inspired book from Harlequin and I hope we will read about Love, Alaska again.

I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for my honest review. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.

City girl meets her true love in Love, Alaska

Grace sure has a lot of adopting to do moving from NYC to Love, Alaska. Moving from a big city where everything is at your exposure to a very small town is very hard especially when you have to travel a hour away by a seaplane to get to a big city. Oh man, what an adjustment that will be. But I can see why it's very easy for Grace to fall in love with the town and her lawman. A very small town where your neighbors are more family than your own blood. You can actually feel the Love and compassion each of the characters have for one another. I wonder if Cameron and Sophie will be the next match in Love, Alaska.

My daughter saw this book on the table, a back to school book from a kind friend, and she said she likes romance, but not how predictable the books are. I told her I think that is what appeals to people. Life is not unpredictable, and you don't always get happy endings, so these books are comforting. I used to spend Summers reading romance novels at my Grandma's house, so there is a nostalgia there for me to. These days, it is a challenge to find clean romance, and this line of books is definitely good for that.

An Alaskan Wedding by Belle Calhoune. Love Alaska is a small town with few women. They advertise for women to come to Love and fall in love with one of the guys there. Boone Prescott is the sheriff in Love. Grace Corbett is a journalist from New York. She goes to Love to get a story. She doesn't tell anyone there that is why she is at Love. She ends up falling in love with the sheriff. Things happen when the town people find out who she really is. A good read.

What a sweet story. I am not going to lie, I read this just because it was based in Alaska. I have such a passion for that state. It is a typical Harlequin romance in some ways, you can see a mile away what is going to happen. That does not make it less of a story. It is sweet and faith based. A very quick read about someone who learned to trust God again. I do think Christian fiction fans would like this one.

Belle Calhoune does it again! I loved her Donahue series and the way she writes and her characters make me want more. An Alaskan Wedding is no different. This is a sweet story of healing and overcoming fears and your past so you can love again. I enjoyed this story and want more of the other characters she wrote. This is worth the read.
Be blessed :)

"There are a number of comical scenes when Grace is confronted with nature at its best. She is a tough, sweet and sassy character, while Boone is the typical protector. Many will be able to identify with the desire to find home and security" (RT Book Reviews, 4 1/2 stars).

I watched a movie based on one of the books of this series and decided to read all of the books because the premise intrigue me. An easy read, likeable characters, and I would like to learn some more about Declan, Cameron, Liam and Honor. At times Jasper got a bit under my skin. He is a bit too pushy and meddlesome. Other than that it was fun and a nice break from the drama of my other reads.
